The 1/4 or 1/2 chicken from here is a MUST try - it tastes amazing! Service & food all round is great, and the price is a cherry on top. Managed to get a full meal for 3 people (with leftovers) all for under £20 - would definitely recommend.

Very frendly owners Had o.a.p. fish and chips and was surprised by the good portions of the meal the fish was a very good size much larger than other establishments serve us wrinklies! The shop is on mill street but is only a short walk from the kings park parking area so ideal for an after shopping meal

I recently tried their large fish and chips £9. Firstly the fish was a decent size, although the batter looked very light in colour. The portion of chips was quite tiny compared with other establishments. I've tried every single one in wantage and oxford. The fish was tastless and the batter was uncooked. There was a yellow liquid on the fish flesh I presume the batter uncooked. To be fair this could have been a one off the guy was very friendly. And the reviews here seem pretty good. I was tired after work decided to have a takeaway so i dont have to cook on my way home. A very big disapointment, never again.

I ordered Scampi and chips . The scampi is not real scampi it is some mince . Chips very oily.

Dear reader, I ate fish (cod) and chips in this diner and they did not disappoint. The batter after frying was delicious and crispy. The chips are nicely done and well seasoned. Overall the portion was enough for one person even possible to share if you are not so hungry. Definitely recommend for the price of 9£50. One oversight is that they did not provide napkins and you will need them.

What a great fish and chip shop! chips are always hot and served with pride and a smile. Curry sauce is a must and is one of the best things sold at this fine establishment. Prices are nothing special, but nonetheless reasonable, look out for the £1 cone of chips deal, more than worth it, Would definitely reccomend!.

Been here twice now and chips have been good. Had to queue but expect that with restrictions and at busy times. Prices for chips are on par with other shops. Fish quality is good and Cod and Haddock was good and meaty. Curry sauce was okay.

Very reasonably priced, although food can be very inconsistent. Some times chips are great, but the last portion I had were very hard and overcooked. Curry sauce is no where near as good as rivals.

Kids loved their food from here. Definitely a place to go back too. They take cards too which is ideal

Good childhood place of mine this, always would come in and grab a cone of chips with my mum and they still taste as good as they did then. Thumbs up from me.

Lovely people, great service, but quality can be variable. Sometimes the chips are excellent, but other times a bit stodgy and soft. Please try to be a bit more consistent, although from my own experience of frying chips at home, there are lots of factors in producing the perfect chips! Good fish and chips is hard to find in Oxfordshire, but Penguin is definitely one of the better chippies.

Tasty. Lots of crispy bonus bits of batter in with the chips. Only down side was some chips were a bit hard. Good price too.
