I used to go here many times for many years , but this time I ordered Dim chicken Briani - not very nice . Rice was not basmati Briani rice , chicken was bony . Falooda was expensive, but no nuts or vermicelli The waitress singing songs so loud , talking and making jokes with next customers with loud noise. Not very nice environment as used to be

Sambal has good flavoursome food which isn't too spicy. The lamprais was delicious and had a generous amount of rice & curries. Tamilkavi Akka was kind in accomodating to my sons' choices in food and was very helpful. We look forward to dining here again

Absolutely Incredible Sri Lankan Food! Sambal Express Diner in Harrow is hands down one of the best spots for authentic Sri Lankan cuisine! The flavors are bold, the portions are generous, and every dish is cooked to perfection. Big shoutout to my absolute favorites—the Elumbu Rasam as a starter is a must-try, packed with rich, comforting spice. The Lamprais and Dum Biryani on a Sunday are next-level delicious, and don’t even get me started on the Devil Prawn Starters—spicy, flavorful, and just the right kick! And the curries? Oh my god!!! Every single one is packed with deep, aromatic flavors that make you want to keep eating. I visited it too many times I cannot stop visiting this restaurant and I live an hour away! I love it all, and just thinking about it makes me hungry! If you’re craving proper Sri Lankan food, this is the place to be. Highly recommend! Shoutout to all the staff including Thamizhkalvi! :)

The food was fantastic. The vegetarian options, at first glance, might look limited but their execution is first class! And, I think everyone already knows how good the Non-Veg options are - Brilliant! The environment is also peaceful, family-oriented and reminds you of Sri Lanka. The staff are also incredibly friendly and supportive to all your accommodations. However, to those classless customers that like to take the piss, don’t take advantage of their kindness. Do show them respect in return. Special shout out to Thamizhkavi! She’s super bubbly and funny!

Didn’t really know what to expect coming into Sambal… was absolutely shocked how amazing the food was. i didn’t want to stop eating and was stunned by how much i ate and how everything i ate was 10/10. Sambal Kitchen is the best place to taste Sri Lankan authentic food. We just popped in there to spend some time with friends once, turned out to be a great experience. The food was really nice, especially the Sambal special noodles, Lamp rice, egg hoppers and Odiyal Kool are our favorite. And if you’d love to have some great Falooda, this is a place for it. The staffs are very friendly, especially Tamizhkavi, she’s very kind, always serves us with smile😊 I’d definitely recommend Sambal Kitchen!

I have been a regular of Sambal for over 6 years and my wife has been visiting weekly (sometimes twice a week) since the day they opened 10+ years ago. Although the food and service were good for the price you pay until recently, everything about this place has gone down. 1) The food's quality and quantity has dwindled significantly while the prices have gone up, 2) The quality of service has degraded and talking to some of their staff about the quality of their food feels like the they are going to punch you in the face about complaining, 3) Leaving complaints on their complaints register gets you nowhere. It is a shame that such a well run restaurant has gone southwards. Who knows, perhaps this is due to a change in management or the havoc Covid may have wreaked upon them. Update December 2024: The quality of service has improved again and I am glad that I have started visiting them again . Thank you to Sathya and Puvi for their great service . This has led me to change me rating again
