Meeting Palace in Harrow

I recently used Meeting Palace to provide the catering for an event for 120 people. They supplied a selection of vegan and chicken curries with rice, naan, poppadoms and salad. The food was delicious and I received very positive feedback from the guests.

This place blows my mind. Food that tastes authentically Sri Lankan every time. The chef replicates food I remember growing up on in Colombo. They capture the true essence of Colombo in the taste combinations. I recommend you go Medium spice as a max unless you’re really used to extreme spice and venture hotter than this. Dishes that are unbelievable tried and tested. Reordered every time Chicken or Mutton Biriyani Devilled Mutton or Chicken Chilli Paneer Egg Gothamba Roti All their Rotis are fantastic Chicken Ceylon Brinjal Jaffna style. Don’t forget the spice level. Enjoy!!!

The food is out of this world would recommend it to anyone

Wow! What an amazing time, so far this is the best Sri Lankan food in North West London and I’ve chosen chicken curry, dhal and rice. Dhal taste was awesome it is made of coconut milk and chicken curry was made of coconut milk, cinnamon and cardamom. Deffo recommend for everyone 👍🏾🤩

Never would go again Waiting too long . Tasteless food. No salt or spices. Visited this restaurant 3 times before but never had problems like this

My experience here was nothing less of AMAZING. I have had takeaway, dined in the restaurant and also had some of their food at catered events. Every single time it has been incredibly delicious! The owner is so enthusiastic about the food and the Sri Lankan hospitality is handed out freely. I always feel very welcomed here. They are very understanding about allergies and intolerances and do their best to accommodate where they can. As a coeliac I have enjoyed countless meals from here without any concerns. I will always keep coming back here not just because the food is amazing but the service and atmosphere is just as good. I love going somewhere knowing you will always be looked after well.

Excellent place to try authentic Sri Lankan quisine at a very reasonable price. Service was great and very friendly and welcoming. Recommend the fish curry and hopers.

I am a big fan of Asian food and I do know a great deal of places, but the quality of the food in this place is amazing !!!!!

It was dark, but not very clean. Food was good, good service, but there is no parking around.

Walked in and said hello with no response. Asked for the lunch deal and didn’t even get a reply. Just a shake of the head and the server just walked away from me.

Best Sri Lankan Kottu we had in London. The staff was great. The new server lady was very nice and did a great job. Definitely would visit again.

Fantastic authentic Sri Lankan food and drinks, and very friendly staff. Good value. Definite recommendation. The restaurant looked very quiet from the outside, actually it looked closed, but don’t give up, go inside and order some food.

Nice catering and humanity care

The meal at Meeting Palace was so good, I will definitely be back. The menu contains good choice of dishes. All seems to be freshly prepared and so yummy. Service friendly and swift. Altogether a pleasant experience and a good value for money. I recommend with no reservation.

We had a group of 15 last Sunday.The food was great.Raj obliged everybody’s need and one of us a vegan and he made the effort of making a Mogo chips as a starter for the individual. Throughly enjoyed the evening and I will recommend any body to taste the palatable food.Price very reasonable and the place well decored.

Not being familiar with Sri Lankan cuisine, i was a bit worried i might not like it, when i was invited to attend a private party taking place there a few days ago. And the area has no reputation for distinguished restaurant options. But my concerns were put to rest quickly, after trying the first starters, especially the squid and prawns....simply fantastic! Similarly, the main dishes proved to be as tasty and appetizing so all in all, it was a fantastic gastronomic experience, surprisingly varied and good for my initial expectations and also very reasonably priced, from what i could read in the menu. Staff was nice and not overly pushy. I certainly look forward to go back there in the near future to try new dishes and have another serving of this fantastic squid! It is an excellent option, if you want to go out for a good meal in this area of North London.

Attended a party with such a good buffet, the sri lankan cashew curry was the start of the night for me and the butter squid, the maintenance of quality food was so good. I will definitely come back many times, the staff was so nice and friendly

We organise a party for 30 people - the food was amazing, the flavours presentation and variety, sound and music, the service, we could not be happier ! Tables decoration and the staff was so helpfull and professional . I recommend the Hopper with egg made fresh, the parathas made in front of you in the buffet - exquisite food ! And such a good value we eat so much !

Food was just THE BEST! Staff is amazingly accomodating and professional, very clean good ambience There are mild dishes there are hot dishes: one better than the other making it very difficult to choose .... I guess the only way is to come back several times ☺️

Used to go here few years back. Was great service good food but the last time I went the door was open went inside tried to call Sombody but nobody attended to us.. Waited round 5min Sombody attends to us and tells us they are closed.. Today went in cause they had sign flashing (OPEN) and the door was open so went in only to be told they not open.. Why leave the door open and a sign saying your open? Disappointing & Definitely want be going here again.

We ordered lots of different dishes on 2nd of October for 18th party, very tasty & very well presented. Delivered on time & setting up everything. I'll go back again. 👌👌👍👍

Food is fine.. but service is horrible!! Dont expect them to cater them to small functions!! And also expect cuss words from the owner!!

We went there last night with friends who tried the Sri Lankan food for the first time. for starters we ordered Chili garlic Mogo {not Sri Lankan } Veg Roll, Vadai and Madras Tomato soup - all excellent. Then we ordered two hoppers to try plain and milk - superb - Milk is a sweet hopper and is sometimes taken as a dessert item. For Mains we ordered Godamba Roti, Sri Lankan Paratha, Cashewnut curry and Okra curry and Veg Kothu Rotti - all were delicious - had quite a bit to take away as portions are good. We are definitely going again taking other friends . Excellent service and very accommodating to specifice requests.

Visited with friends to have some good fish but very disappointing with the dishes. Fish is very dry and smells like crap. Didn’t try any vegetarian so wouldn’t comment on that but if you are looking for some good sea food this is surely not the place

Worst experience... The delivery person cancelled the order aftr reaching the place.. Disgusting. Jst because he cannot find the place, he cancelled the order.. Very bad mannerisms. No value for the customer.

Not that great. Pretty dry food, it’s also on the expensive side. We had ordered Kothus - even the taste was quite off.

Excellent food dishes with mild/hot/extra hot spices served by polite and smiling waiters. We had a 50th Birthday Party celebration and have no complaint about any food, drinks and deserts served. Only minus point is that you need to have coins and notes to use a nearby car park as they don't accept cards but again parking charges are very low.

My wife and I ate here on a Saturday evening. We had prawn curry and cashew curry, both were excellent, seemed authentic Sri Lankan. The Hoppers (rice flour pancakes) were very, very good, you must try them. This resaurant is highly recommended.

They catered for our daughter's wedding alongside another restaurant. The food was outstanding and our guests were very impressed. When we went there for our food tasting the service was excellent, Rajan listened to all our requests and made the food exactly to our taste. We would highly recommend this restaurant to eat at, and for any catering needs. Thank you very much Rajan and the team!

Booked a table on open table which was accepted, arrived with 4 others to find the place full with a private birthday party found on and turned away. Won't bother with either this restaurant or open table for a long time

Meeting Palace is the perfect place to dine in or takeaway. I've had the pleasure of doing both. The food quality is really high. Portions are very good. Extremely tasty. Love the Sri Lankan and South Indian Cuisine. The ambience really does promote the culture well. Price very very reasonable and as such I'm a happy regular customer :)

Went to the restaurant on 18 May 2019 and we were served with some the best dishes we could ever have imagined. Very friendly and clean.

Great food. We went there as we bought a OPEN TABLE £50 gift voucher but they didn't know about this scheme. However manager agreed to accept kindly although it didnt work at the end. We ended up there as we finished a walk nearby and wanted to try something diffrent. If you can over look the ambiance it is a nice restaurent for food and if you want to try something difftent. Lentil and vada starters were yummm although a bit hot so ask for less spicy if you are not used to it V Resonable prices and resonable portion sizes....great Masala tea and fish dishes. Service can be improved although 2 young boys who were serving us were very polite. Will go again if around ever again in that area.

Old style tables and dirty kitchen with poor basic stuff and not wearing uniforms. Need same proper cleaning and maintenace to get reed of ratchet .Concil should check this places and make sure it’s safe ! Gosh stay away !

Been visiting the Meeting Palace for many years and have never been disappointed. Although having now moved out of the area I expect visits will be less frequent The last visit was in December with a group of guys on the run up to Christmas.We are always made to feel welcome the owner and staff are always helpful and friendly and the food consistently excellent - if you haven't been you should give it a try, though be warned the "devilled" dishes are very hot

Been going to this for years and had no issues Went to order my normal food lamb Biryani , mutton rolls and with that your need nan roti or my case parota but when i ask for it they said we dont have any so i asked for chappti or nans sorry we dont do them there from outside catering Think i was baffled to the least when he said this bare inmind its just gone 7pm and was not full at all Then asks doni still want my order (Well have a guess 😔) I have idea roll some more how can this be happening and i think it was the owner on the phone could be wrong Like going to mc donalds asking for big mac meal but we have no big macs 🤔🤔🤔😌

We had our birthday party . Extremely enjoyable experience. Food was fabulous. Particularly starters * tilapia fish pakoda* , Biryani* & lemon puff desert . All in all great food . I would say that best briyani ever had . Very friendly approach with restaurant management to conduct the party . Owner/ manager was very helpful & friendly. The restaurant looks really different than other srilankan food places. It Looks natural with the different decoration. Unique by its own style . I will def come back and will be recommended highly .

Good food and affordable prices. Place might get a casual fell but staff is very friendly.

Allowed me to book a table 4 hours beforehand and then upon arrival was greeted by the silence of an empty restaurant. After about 5-10 mins of waiting and chatting , the manager enters through the front door and tells us to take our seat and then goes into the kitchen. After another 5 mins of chatting the manager comes out and tells us the head chef is not in and so we will have to leave. To the manager’s credit he did seem apologetic and cordial but things like this should not happen in the first place.

Tasty meals presented in a pleasant way. Staff members are friendly. Hospitality is very good.

Just spent a wonderful evening with family at this tremendous restaurant. It was a hopper happy feast with mutton curry, chicken curry, brinjal curry, speciality lamb (hot hot hot) curry, chicken masala dosai.... my god my god my god!!!! Fantastic service , fantastic food and a gem of Sri Lankan cuisine.

What a Gem 💎 we found! Excellent service by the owner and his chefs, the food was very tasty, plentiful and absolutely delicious as well as reasonably priced! Good decor and great music. We will definitely visit again and recommend to family and friends.

We came in for dinner one eveninh after cinema across the street. The food was nice and the service was quick despite of the place being full.The main critique would be a hidden mandatory service charge. And yes I'm sure if I wanted I'd probably be able to find it mentioned somewhere on the menu in a tiny font. But what I don't like is being forced and told how much to pay for service. I can calculate 10% easily myself.

We booked a table for 6 and went last night. A lovely little restaurant with plenty of ambience and decor traditional Srilankan style really nice. Unfortunately sad to say one of our work colleagues arrived there and she mentioned a booking in my name and the manager told her to sit there and pointed to a chair. She waited for about 10 minutes and was getting quite anxious and approached the manager to ask could he please call me and say that shes waiting here. He rudely told her that he doesnt have my numbr but she replied yes you do but he said to her I DONT HAVE TIME TO CHECK. So she left and went home. We then came to the restaurant to join her and she wasnt there. After calling her she informed us about what had happened. I then calked the Manager to come to our table and asked him "why he didnt call my mobile to inform me that one of our friends was waiting here and worried". Well to make a long story short he replied he doesnt have time to ring people up and stuff and then to my disgust "HE TOLD ME TO PISS OFF AND LEAVE HIS RESTAURANT". We were totally shocked. I replied to him and said how unprofessional you are and how rude of you to speak to a customer like that. Anyway he went back to the service area and took his keys and left the restaurant... I would suggest the owner gets rid of this employee as he clearly has a problem. On a good note the chef cooked really excellent food and the waiter that served us was really nice and did apologise to us.... really not happy at all.

if you're south asian, you will love this place!! One of the best south asian restaurants I've been too. Food is delicious and and have a great variety of dishes. You can hire the place to have your own private party. The downside is that from my experience the food can take quite long so better call em before eating, also if you are hiring the place its only limited up until midnight which is kind of a bummer.

everyone was loved , i took my friends and family' they came all the way from Devon to have some sri Lankan traditional food 'they loved it ,the person who served the food 'so courteous and friendly; i wish him and good luck to keep the same hospitality' even in rush and a busiest time . i m a chef who writing this reiew expect someone who's passionate about food and and service always .Best wishes.

Fue en este lugar llamado Wealdstone que no es estéticamente agradable. Encontré este lugar como algunas personas estaban mencionando. Tuve una hora para matar y tenía hambre. Me fui de tarde el miércoles. Yo era el único cliente y el agradable propietario tomó mi orden. Yo tenía un Roti de pollo Kothi. 4. 50 fue una ganga. Él también proporciona un buen tazón pequeño de curry de pollo que deben ser ordenados como principal - era tan buena. El roti en sí estaba deliciosa, muy bien condimentadas, sabrosa y un excelente tamaño de la porción.

This restaurant has become our regular place for Sri Lankan food. The food is authentic and there is plenty of spice. It's also one of the few places that actually makes hoppers to order (other restaurants will show it on the menu but it's never available when you get there!). The staff are friendly and accommodating. Overall, a very enjoyable experience!
