Tout y est excellent ! Service rapide, cadre sympa. Nus avons pris les mini burgers de wagyu qui étaient un peu trop cuits. Ceux ci ont été remplacés gratuitement et immédiatement sans aucune discussion ni doute. Bravo ! Je recommande.

I thought the food here was pretty good but the service questionable given: 1. how empty the restuant was 2. the number of staff on (alot) Maybe they were ramping up and getting ready for a major influx of customers. Food wise the stand out for me was the steak tartare - had the x factor and the crispy french fries worked well with this. The tomato salad was pretty bland to be honest. £35 for one with no booze if quite punchy I would say. Given the variety of alternative options I feel they need to try harder to compete in Borough Market - obviously feeding off the footfall.

We’ve visited Saltyard on at least 3 occasions so after another appt at Guys hospital choose it for our anniversary lunch. Unfortunately, we were met with a disconcerting maitre-d who at 13.35 told us there was no tables available until 15.30 but when checking online availability was within the next 5 minutes!!! We returned to the restaurant and showed him the online availability only to listen to his unacceptable excuse of ‘we had a cancellation Blau Blau Blau’ sorry, I don’t think so…therefore as a local and a supplier to stall holders in the market I wouldn’t recommend the restaurant again!! Fortunately we had a lovely meal at Vinoteca where the staff, food and hospitality is what you would expect

Friendly prompt and attentive service and very good food. Nothing not to like. Situated conveniently on Borough Market, Salt Yard does very good tapas and some very good wine.

Great spot for a spot of Tapas. Just on the edge of the main Borough Market social areas. Very friendly people and good food, well priced. Our waitress was from Hungary. She was extremely attentive, helpful and good fun. I'd definitely go back next time I'm in the area.

I work in the food industry & like to try new fine dining restaurants, especially those that serve steaks. My husband and I visited, as we had heard good things about Salt yard. The sirloin sharing steak - circa £80, ordered medium rare and arrived blue. Sent back. Chef threw it back on the pan and it came back to us totally dry, overcooked and really salty. The worst steak I have ever had. The slider burgers (wagyu) tasted like dry McDonald’s patties, inedible. Padron peppers were good. Patattas bravas seemed to be old as if held under a heat lamp for too long. The best part about this restaurant was the wine. As a couple paying over £200 for dinner, our hard earned money will be spent elsewhere when in London. I would recommend avoiding this restaurant.

I was looking forward to having dinner here on Saturday evening but it was so very disappointing... both the service and food fell short. The food came at wildly different times... at one point we had plates of vegetables and nothing to eat them with! I'm a committed carnivore who loves veg... as a side dish, NEVER the main event. As for the food, so many things on the dishes didn't add anything to the overall dish as many things were indiscernible (e.g. the avocado and aubergine purees, the pork crackling, the sauce with the lamb was for too salty - and this comes from a lover of salt! The churros were doughy on the inside and needed another 30 seconds. Our server didn't know the menu and had to ask the kitchen questions to answer ours whereas I expect those serving to know the menu inside and out. Disappointing and expensive but not worth it. I'm always happy to pay over the odds for good food but not for underpar food.

Service was brisk but mainly friendly. Food was delicious. Not sure about value for money as it was rather expensive. Booking advised as the place was rammed .

This review is based on two separate visits, close together. Four of us, two couples, came in after lunch in Sunday for cocktails. We liked the high tables where you can use the stools or stand. The soul music was superb and, by the way, the cocktails were very good as well. It was not busy and the service was very good. A friend and I met up the following Tuesday night. Moretti beer on tap is a great start, as were the free plate of Spanish Peppers. After a few drinks we decided to try the food. The prawns were OK rather than good. The croquettes were good and the mini Calzone and flat bread was, again, ok. The ambience and music was excellent, as was the service. We meet in Borough often and will use this venue again.

Nice restaurant, good ambiance, great service (Cesar was brilliant), and good location. The food was nice, and I know it’s tapas, but the portions were a little small (in my opinion), which does push the price up significantly. Go with their recommendation of 3 plates per person (for a main meal), rather than 2.

Treated friends in from Out-of-Town to a luncheon here. Lively atmosphere, busy, noisy, close table & a nice enjoyable meal, but the Waiting Staff proved quite unresponsive and difficult to get their attention - to a point where I walked over (from our Table) to their Station on three separate occasions. Not the Service Levels one might expect in a Restaurant at these prices. Had we not had Guests with us, I would have complaíned. Food good. Portions a bit skimpy. Eclectic Wine List.

I really did not enjoy the food here, apart from the olives, which to be fair were probably procured from the market. Let’s start then, the bream was terrible, I did not expect it to taste so bad and it was raw. The risotto was sloppy and bland, The pumpkin was devoid of any real flavour, apart from the char and the charcuterie was quite frankly, dull. So what was good? Well they had Neck Oil on tap but they somehow managed not to pour a full pint into a glass! As for the waiters, one of them, a gentleman was terribly rude when I stood up to ask for the bill; he abruptly told me to sit down, it was coming, wow! Basically this place is mediocre at best and I will encourage others not to waste a whole lot of money for poor food and poor service.

Always a great place to sit and ponder the que of people waiting for food in the market. I love the seats at the bar as you can chat to Lia as she chefs your food in front of you. We had a great experience here…we didn’t have a reservation but were seated immediately. The staff were very friendly and the atmosphere was nice. It is situated right opposite Borough market….we had the Sunday set menu and I thought the food was delicious and they let me swap the glass of wine for a pint. I can’t fault this place at all.

We had a lovely Christmas get together on December 23rd after an afternoon at Borough Market. The atmosphere was festive, the food delicious and the hospitality was warm, friendly, attentive and relaxing. We felt so at home and so well looked after by Siddhi, Marina and Diksha. They were outstanding and we will definitely be returning soon in February. Thank you for a wonderful night out and a memorable evening. All the very best. Jenny Hegarty and family. Happy New Year

Having visited the Fitzrovia Saltyard, which was impressive, we(party of 4) decided to try the Borough Market establishment for our annual Christmas get together. Tip- Don't sit in a booth, unless you enjoy cramped, uncomfortable seating. We were subsequently given a high seated table which was far less restrictive .We ordered several tapas dishes each but beware the lamb skewers were very tough & extremely salty, and the padron peppers came last, quite odd, as they are supposedly served as a bar snack, not a dessert course. I did relay these facts to a lady waitress, however her response was " I'll let the chef know" with no further explanation or recourse. Our bill came to £299.10, however the shock was a 12.5% service charge of £37.38 totalling to £336.48. I thought this a tad expensive to expect payment of £37.38 discretionary service charge, and therefore stated to the waiter that we would be prepared to pay £20.(which our group agreed was a reasonable tip) I was shortly approached by a male waiter who was very angry & hostile, and stated that by paying a £20 service charge " was an insult." I explained to him that a service charge is discretionary, not obligatory, and he then raged that he " had to live in London with London prices" of which I said if this was his feeling he should live in a cheaper area. In all my time of visiting restaurants in varying types of establishments, I have never encountered such bad manners, rudeness & hostility. May I suggest that this waiter has extra training in what good customer service looks like. As a regular visitor to Borough market, and having visited Turnips 2 weeks ago, the Saltyard was a great disappointment, as the last thing you want to experience on a Christmas soiree is to be intimidated by a member of staff. Needless to say, we will not return here ,as previous reviews state ,there are many many other restaurants worthy of my hard earned cash.

We booked to have a Christmas set tasting menu which the staff knew nothing about when we arrived, so we chose from their normal menu. The food was awful ..... greasy and salty. We had around 12 different dishes and I wouldn't recommend any of them. And to top it all we were asked if we wanted to add a gratuity yet they had already added 12.5% to the bill. So disappointed and embarrassed as we had taken guests with us. Never again.

Popped in for lunch on a trip to London. It’s next to Borough Market which was rammed as usual so much to sit and enjoy the tapas tasting menu with a couple of glasses of wine and people watch in comfort. Food was great, the £40 a head tasting menu, very good value with olives, padron peppers, fried cod (a swap for the marinated bake done very kindly at our request), crab & lobster tortellini, lamb skewers, duck breast, pumpkin, hispi cabbage and choc mousse. Wine was slightly pricy but absolutely delicious Rioja. Service from Diksha was absolutely spot on. Very impressed over all and would definitely return if in the area.

Planned to eat here, a reservation having been made for us by a resident family member, or so we thought but, long story short, it hadn't. Nevertheless, the helpful and supremely efficient Carmine squeezed us in and made us very welcome. Sadly, the menu, despite looking mouth-watering to me, wasn't to my husband's liking so we decided just to stay for drinks. Pricey, but we were introduced to our first Crodinos - delicious. Thank you and maybe we'll see you again sometime.

I’m generally a fan of the Salt Yard group and find all restaurants to be reliably good for their offering. I was surprised here that the restaurant had such a nice neighbourhood feel to it (given it is right next to the huge tourist hub of the marketer) and the staff seemed to know each other and the customers which creates a nice atmosphere, and is rare post-2020. If you’re looking for what Salt Yard is offering then you won’t be disappointed here.

I was walking around Borough market with a friend and discussing the many options around there. We opted to try the Salt Yard, I'd been to the one near Charlotte Street many years back and enjoyed it. We ordered four dishes for a light lunch and cokes and later home-made lemonade. Croquetas were very good, flatbread was fine, crab and lobster pasta with bisque was tasty but small and there wasn't enough "bisque" (16 pounds) and prawns were incredibly bland (14 pounds). Service was chatty and helpful. We asked for the three rogue items tacked on the end of our bill to be removed and that was dealt with. It's a smart looking place and we had a nice leisurely late lunch but there's a lot of options in that neighbourhood. I may return.

Very average lunch all round ! No beer glass to go with the £6 330ml bottle of red label Peroni ordered, just some weird tallish square glass, only beer glass they had was a pint Moretti one, so now I’m drinking Peroni from a Moretti glass. A £13.80 glass of red wine served with some of it running down the outside of the glass by someone in a scruffy pink hoodie who had only just taken out their EarPods, is poor service, Not sure if this restaurant is smart or casual but some of the pricing is up there. The cheese board at £16 for 2 tiny triangles of cheese and the tiniest bowl of Gorgonzola with some crackers is grossly overpriced. Lobster & crab tortellini was served almost cold with no sight of any crab or lobster just a fish taste, Veal Milanese was ok as was the patatas bravas. All in all not a great lunch, far better restaurants in the area with warmer more professional service with better value for money. Or maybe just eat off one of the stalls in the market.

The service was good and mostly the food was good but we ordered two sirloin steaks among other dishes to share and both steaks were tough and very chewy. Given the steak was £42 a dish, that was £84 for something we didn’t enjoy. I did let the lady know who cleared the plates but nothing came of it. If you pay that price and the food isn’t good I would have expected a little to have been taken off the bill or a free drink as a good will gesture but there wasn’t anything. It’s a shame as the other food was good albeit a bit pricey for what you got.

I received a warm welcome from Siddhi who gave me a seat at the bar. I originally wanted just a glass of wine (which was beautifully chosen by Ben my waiter) but the menu was very tempting. I ordered, flat iron, tomato salad and panna cotta for desert. Quick service and well plated by the chefs. Overall it was a pleasant visit, definitely would recommend to everyone.

We dined here for our last night of a very crazy 2 week adventure and it was perfect. Our server Sidhi (sorry if I’ve misspelled that) was by far the best service we received the entire trip. If anyone has been to the United States, you know servers there rely on tips a lot more and in turn normally provide a different level of service. This was not the case with Sidhi - she was absolutely phenomenal, friendly, and attentive. The food was incredible as well, we sampled so many delicious things off the menu, and ended it with 3 desserts to share. We left full, content and pleased to have ended our trip at such a great restaurant. The area where the restaurant is is also a great location for walking around and doing a little bar/appetizer crawl if that’s more your speed. But HIGHLY recommend stopping here at some point if you’re in the area.

Having been to Salt Yard in Soho, I was really looking forward to this, but it was a terrrible experience. First up was the manchego, which took an age to arrive and was the smallest piece of cheese I have ever seen in my life, smaller than a triangle of Laughing Cow cheese. Of the 4 other plates of tapas we ordered, they took an age, 15 minutes between each dish, and they were all cold when they arrived, and the 4th never arrived at all. At one point, patata bravas was placed on our table. When I called. the waitress back, she apologised, then took it and served it to a nearby table! I paid my bill (£120 for a disaster!!!) and asked to see the manager who just never arrived. With fierce competition in Borough Market, I can't see this restaurant surviving long without a change in management and chef. All the other restaurants in this location that I've tried are superb. Barafina and Brindisa are far better bets if you want great tapas. This is definitely one to avoid.
