Pizza Express - Bankside in Southwark

Was here late December, manager had given kitchen staff leave (nice of him) but not quite calculated how many tables they could serve with remaining staff. Never waited so long for pizzas in my life.

Great service, nice atmosphere, but pizza wasn’t good. The souce was just like a pure tomato concentrate

Nice restaurant on the riverbank. We had made a reservation and were glad we did as it was very busy. Our server was extremely helpful and friendly and completely understood my allergy requirements.

Our experience here was outrageously poor. Despite it being a quiet Tuesday lunchtime, we waited an hour for our pizzas before even saying anything to the waiter. When we said we had waited a while he claimed that they would be 5 minutes. 20 minutes later we asked again, there had been an "issue with the system"... As we were already running late for our next commitment, we very clearly stated we could only wait for 5 more minutes; we waited 10 more and now 1.5 hours in we gave up and left. This restaurant is clearly understaffed, and the staff there are not trained properly and rude.

Alban - the MAN BEST RESTAURANT

I’ve only visited the pizza express branches a handful of times and this is the best restaurant I’ve been too so far. The food is always lovely and filling at pizza express, I recently visited with a few of my peers and was greeted by a waitress with who was very kind and had great humour and the table we was sat at had a lovely night view along the river Thames, St Paul’s cathedral could also be seen from this table (This made the meal even more enjoyable haha). Despite there being 7 of us, service was exceptionally quick and everyone received their food and drink’s within 35 minutes! Though I must say the cheesecake did taste a bit like a supermarket one from the chiller but the classic sloppy Giuseppe pizza was a brilliant touch on the taste buds! I was a bit disappointed by the Nduja dough balls as I don’t believe they were similar to the description yet were still a nice touch.

We recently had an excellent experience at Pizza Express, and I want to commend Jarka for being an outstanding party host. Jarka‘s attention to detail and enthusiasm made our team building truly memorable. The service was impeccable, and the pizzas were delicious. What made it even more enjoyable was the opportunity to make our own pizzas, adding a fun and interactive element to the experience. Thank you Jarka for making our event special! 💪

Even though my children were unruly and disrespectful the team were a pleasure and always on hand to help, panos was great!

Very very small pizzas. I understand the location makes everything more expensive, but it doesn't have to make the portions so small either. Otherwise good pizza, but not worth it.

The food was really good. But the service is super slow. I was there with a friend and the waiter (tall guy with an arm full of tattoos) kept ignoring us the whole time. It took a very long time to take our order, to have the desert menu and to have the bill. People have been served before us but been seated after us. I work in the customer service and this service was really bad.
