Salt on the Harbour in East Riding of Yorkshire

Good food, unfortunately ruined by terrible service. Restaurant was fairly quiet, waited much longer than we should have to be seated. Were then seated for around 10 minutes without menus. Once i got up to politely ask for menus was greeted by a miserable face that seemed inconvenienced by presence in the restaurant. The slightly older chap that then served us was very friendly. Unfortunately the last we saw of him though. We were given a one page menu with no kids menu, not ideal when seated with 2 children. Menus were available...just had to get them a second time of asking. Frustratingly there was a Sunday lunch option that also wasn’t offered…frustrating when seeing people seated after you (also hadn’t booked ahead) given the option. Food, i can’t fault. Was very nice fish and chips. Had to, again, go ask at the bar to assist as we were all missing bread and butter. Once finished we asked to order ice cream. Waited another 10 minutes to nothing so asked for the bill. That came instantly. Overall, a very disappointing experience. Shows service can really ruin a good meal. When you’re paying a premium price for a product you expect a slightly better level of customer service.

Tuvimos un ligero bocado de pescado y patatas fritas, muy buena relación calidad-precio. Patatas fritas de pescado, guisantes y salsa tártara con pan y mantequilla. Creo que eran alrededor de £ 11. 50 . El personal es agradable y servicial, siempre limpiando mesas y colchonetas.

Menú Bait & Switch - Servicio lento. Llegamos a las 2. 45 pm en una tarde lluviosa domingo a finales de marzo después de leer el tablero de menús fuera del cual incluía más de 20 opciones / lados, incluyendo el almuerzo del domingo. El restaurante estaba ocupado pero no lleno. El servicio fue lento, esperamos a estar sentados durante diez minutos, pero para 7 de ellos fuimos totalmente ignorados por todo el personal, ya que esperamos en una cola. Nos sentamos sin menú y luego pedimos refrescos. Cuando se le presentó el menú 10 minutos después de sentarse solo había 4 opciones en el menú, todas las variaciones de pescado / scampi y patatas fritas. Cuando pregunté por el menú en el tablero de afuera me dijeron que debido a la escasez de personal solo estaban sirviendo el menú reducido. Vi a 9 empleados diferentes de FOH y para cuando salimos 1 hora 20 minutos después había muy pocas mesas todavía ocupadas, así que para un restaurante con pocas tapas y tanto personal que no puedo evitar sentir que era un poco de una historia alta. No hay check back una vez que llegó la comida. Además, ¿por qué no cambiar los tableros de menú fuera - un espectáculo realmente pobre. Vi otra orden de mesa del menú del almuerzo del domingo, y ordené una porción de pan de ajo y eso fue hecho para ellos. Muy extraño. El servicio en general era lento, la comida estaba bien, pero si quieres pescado con patatas fritas ir por la carretera es mucho más barato e igual de bueno, y revisar el menú antes de sentarse para que no te caigas en problemas con el Bait & Switch que hicimos. No recomendaría, no volvería.

Excelente servicio, comida y en general experiencia. El tipo que nos estaba sirviendo era muy educado, muy amable (jueves 20 de marzo de 1800) Todo el mundo estaba muy impresionado por lo buena que era la comida, las ostras eran encantadoras y frescas / Vizcaína de langosta era increíble / Chocher era irreal y los anillos de calamar no eran de goma y realmente agradable. La comida principal era igual de buena, al igual que los postres. (Moules Marinere/Mixed Seafood Thermidore/K. “Curry de langostinos/crema de bayoleys/helados/desmenuzamiento de manzana y canela - todo increíble) Bill era ideal para 4 personas cenando, incluyendo una bebida cada uno, alrededor de £ 60 por persona. Además, estábamos sentados en el bar de abajo, ya que teníamos 2 perros, la vista del puerto era la guinda del pastel.

He estado pensando en venir al restaurante durante un tiempo, ya que he frecuentado anteriormente el bar de abajo y el pescado con patatas fritas para llevar. Esta vez había reservado el restaurante de arriba, una mesa para 6 y era muy agradable. Ligeramente fuera de temporada y el piso de abajo no estaba demasiado ocupado, pero se sorprendió gratamente el piso de arriba estaba bullicioso - una gran señal, mezcla de todas las edades y grupos - nuestra mesa estaba muy bien preparada y el chico que nos llevó a ella estaba atento y se aseguró de que fuéramos felices. Conseguí hasta el día de hoy, un gran menú y una gran variedad de artículos - así que mientras que un restaurante de 'mariscos', había algo para todos. No muy mal de precio y por lo que teníamos, estábamos muy contentos con la comida (3 x pescado y patatas fritas, 1 x curry de langostinos Goan 1 x termidor de mariscos y 1 x media langosta) hermosa comida. Realmente disfruté de la experiencia y el ambiente. Lo marcó como una estrella, ya que algunos de los servicios carecían de un poco de amabilidad, no estoy seguro de por qué, ya que éramos un grupo educado y agradable, pero supongo que sucede. Con gusto recomiendo.

Fantastic meal with amazing view. Staying overnight in a clean and exceptionally comfortable room with lovely view of the harbour. Looking forward to breakfast!

Went for a beach walk with the family, wanted something to eat and called into this place. First impression was good went to the upstairs part with a window seat overlooking the harbour, menu sorted without any issues. Two starters were ordered took some time to come but they were fine. Four fish and chips and one Sunday lunch ordered with two pots of curry sauce,this is where the problems started. The curry sauce came one large and one small, why ? Only one pot of tartar sauce came for four meals should be one each. My fish was overcooked and dry as were others, had to ask for a jug of water three times. The carrots with the Sunday lunch were green and not peeled also not very hot only just above warm. Three sweets ordered (strawberry sundaes) nice but only one strawberry each cut into four. As stated first impressions were good seamed like a rather impressive restaurant, but considering that it was not very busy the service was slow, the staff were either inexperienced or not well trained forgetting lots of simple things. At a price of £150 this family won’t be back any time soon.

Been here a few times Bit hit and miss unfortunately, more misses than hits. It will be the last time we eat upstairs in the restaurant . My husband ordered crispy scallops for starter, which was sent back. They were soggy, undercooked and greasy. The rest of the meal was very average and for over 90 quid (which did include a couple of drinks) was not worth it. Had better in Wetherspoons. Next time we will have F&C outside from their takeaway.

My husband and I booked a table for Sunday lunch. We are local and this was a treat before we entered the busy festive season. Upon arrival the general manager pointed to the conservatory and said “ go down there someone will seat you”. The conservatory was dark, empty and very quiet. The weather was bad so we thought it might be quiet but there was zero atmosphere. We ordered drinks, they came incorrect and then ordered our two course lunch. I wanted the roast beef, pretty standard but 5 mins later the waiter came to tell me there was no beef left due to a “large group of 50 people upstairs”!!! Totally unacceptable, if you have a large group and pre booked tables how can you run out of roast beef! This was the trigger for us to ask for the drinks bill as we were not happy with the experience. They did settle the drinks bill bearing in mind it was incorrect but we appreciated the gesture. As we made our way to the bar the general manager was in his jeep driving off. The staff seem to be doing the best they can, but it is poor management to run out of beef on a Sunday with pre booked tables. We shan’t be going back in a hurry.

Young waiter was super friendly. Tried tempura oysters for the first time. Was really tasty, considering I hate raw oysters. Husband had whitebait and crab linguine. Both of which he enjoyed. But the seafood thermidor was absolutely superb. So glad Bridlington finally has a nice restaurant. We'll definitely be back. Maybe even stay next time, if it means avoiding the terrible Premier Inn!!

Fish and chips out of this world and great views of the harbour. Staff very friendly and reasonably priced. Will be coming again.

Apareció aquí como se veía bien - y fue. La decoración es preciosa, amable con el personal y en general un lugar encantador. Solo llamamos por bebidas, pero terminamos teniendo su pescado y patatas fritas también - encantador. Si estás buscando un lugar más exclusivo para una bebida y algo para comer, te recomiendo la Salt 👌

Comida preciosa, tenía eglefino islandés, patatas fritas, pan de guisantes mushy y mantequilla y salsa tártara, el pescado era hermoso y blanco la masa crujiente pero se derriten en la boca, tamaño de la porción justo, el servicio era rápido y amable, restaurante encantador y limpio.

Mi pareja y yo reservamos aquí solo por una noche, qué lugar tan fabuloso, la habitación estaba inmaculada, tenía absolutamente todo lo necesario y más. Honestamente puedo decir que una de las mejores habitaciones en las que nos hemos alojado. . el desayuno era genial y con una hermosa vista sobre el puerto. tuvimos una gran estancia y sin duda nos alojaremos aquí de nuevo. . Lo recomiendo encarecidamente.

Excellent seafood menu in pleasant surroundings overlooking the Harbour. Would highly recommend the seafood it was very well prepared and tasty.

We have just been here for a meal, the food was amazing however, the service was rubbish. We had to ask 3 times for some tap water even though we had ordered alcohol too. The room downstairs was freezing too. The white wine was warm, I had to ask for a cold wine., not once during our 2 course meal were we asked if everything was okay. Really disappointed as we were out for a special occasion.

Fabulous from start to finish. Top class seafood restaurant. We were a party of 5 eating various starters and mains and all of us commented on the exceptional taste and quality of the food. In particular the white bait starter looked and tasted tremendous and the mussels were the tastiest I have ever eaten. Hats off to a wonderful chef and team. You will not be disappointed if you choose to dine here.

What can I say about this place well let’s just start off with DO NOT LISTEN TO THE BAD REVIEWS!! I had booked for a table for 10 for a Saturday night of all nights and they went way over what we ever thought a restaurant would do for us a table for 10 everything set up absolutely beautifully they had no idea that I was planning on proposing to my partner but they way everything was it’s like they read my mind Unfortunately due to a mistake on my behalf we couldn’t sit upstairs but they said don’t worry we will sort something for you downstairs and I can’t fault them they go above and beyond for everyone Food absolutely fantastic and full of flavour everything hot and fresh absolutely perfection

Outstanding seafood restaurant from start to finish. The ambience and food top class! We overlooked the harbour, and enjoyed a triumph of seafood. Party of 5, bisque and mussels (better than the French) whitebait, lobster, prawn goan curry, and sea bass all coohed to perfection! Not our first time and definitely not the last. Thank you
