Stopped off in Market Drayton on way back to Chester. Came across this superb pub. Great ale, great customers and landord and great building. Not to many places like this around any more. Already planning a trip over one Saturday so I can stay for more than the one.

Stumbled on this place last week. One of the most friendly landlords in the world. Sat chatting to us for ages and even suggested the best take away in town and even other ‘decent’ bars in the vicinity. Cracking pint of Carling too.

Met up with family for the first time in ages (due to covid restrictions) at the Salopian Star. Harvey and Donna couldn't have been more welcoming - and the baguette sandwiches were delicious - with the added bonus of proper home made chips. We had a lovely visit to the Salopian Star and if we're in Market Drayton again we will definitely pop in. Highly recommend!

This is a no frills basic pub with down to earth local people as its clients .The barman was very welcoming and friendly just like the people who frequent it ,do not expect everything to be spic and span it aint but, the prices and the quality of the cask ale from the Nova brewery based in Newport Shropshire was first class, they have a solid fuel log burner in the bar area which is brill unfortunately we had a bus to catch otherwise we would have loved to stay longer ,so please try this pub but dont be put off by first impressions this is a working class place with good solid working class people and fine ale. Please note this is a pub only no food served but we were allowed to eat our own sandwiches ,very rare these days.

Four of us decided to have a Sunday Lunch and were extremely happy. The portions were more than ample with plenty of meat and veggies and of very good quality. The service was excellent and could not be faulted. Without a shadow of doubt we will be returning. Thank you to everyone for making it a great experience

Nice pub just off the main road. Real ales available. Nice quirky little pub with food being served. Staff were friendly and polite. Beer was good, worth a visit. Enjoyed my visit.

Brilliant little find on a Saturday morning in Feb. Staff were efficient, service was friendly and food come hot within five minutes of ordering. Old school quality large cafe breakfast with a brew for under £10 you can't go wrong.
