Sally's Cake Emporium in Sevenoaks

So nice to have proper cake, not just chain store cake and what a range! They have good coffee, great cake, attentive service.

The decor of this place is overwhelmingly cute, with flowers, pink walls and positive vibes everywhere. The cakes look great and are very tasty. Gets quite busy so you may need to wait for a table.

Driven past many times & always been so busy we wanted to try. Well worth the visit today on a freezing cold day. Met with a warm greeting & chose our table. One mocha & one latte so tasty, we ordered a beef & horseradish sandwich with salad & crisps & a cooked gammon & piccalilli sandwich with the same. Never had bread so fresh & was presented beautifully. The tearooms is decorated wonderfully so quirky in all pastel colours with cups & saucer & mini cake decorations so pretty. The cakes at the counter all looked delicious but after our sandwiches we decided to take some home, carrot cake & bread pudding & they did not disappoint. Excellent service, excellent value will certainly go back & highly recommend to all our friends & family.

My Dad and I went to enjoy a breakfast somewhere different and ended up here. It looked nice enough from the outside. We wanted to order Eggs benedict however we got told that they stop doing that at 12 noon. The time was 11.50am. Therefore I ordered a bacon sandwich and my Dad had a sausage sandwich. The bacon sandwich was so fatty and overcooked and the toast was burnt. My Dad’s bread for his sandwich was curled at the edges and wasn’t very fresh, making it difficult for him to eat. I would say that this is possible a place to go for a coffee and a cake, but not breakfast. It does sadden me that you can’t be served things that are on the menu, due to a timeframe. - Please therefore take them off the menu, or alternatively, put a note next to them saying - must be ordered before 12 noon (well, 11.50am).

I visited Sally's yesterday to celebrate Emma's Baby Shower. The cream tea was delicious. Sandwiches were fresh and had generous fillings and the cakes were melt in the mouth. There were also other sweet and savoury snacks that complimented the cream tea perfectly. The setting was so pretty and the staff could not have been more helpful.Would definitely recommend this little gem of a place.

Stopped off for lunch whilst out walking today. What an unexpected treasure! The warmest of welcomes including to the two dogs that were with us, even bringing out a blanket so the bony greyhound could lie down. The food (sandwiches from the daily specials) were delicious. The cakes looked divine and I’ll definitely be coming back for an afternoon tea. A very definite 10/10

Talk about kid in a sweet shop I was an adult in a cake shop. A bright interior and welcoming staff boded well for our first visit. Our well filled smoked salmon and cream cheese sandwich was tasty - although the bread was cut extra thick rather than thick. Nicely presented. Mrs B. claiming to be sated declared she could manage “just a taste of cake.“ Pull the other one, dear. I had to be quick to scoff my meagre share of the very nice cookie dough slice. Nice coffee. We will return, have our cake - and I’ll get my fair share. Well done Sally.

Amazing Afternoon Tea with my Mum and Daughter for my Birthday. Delicious homemade sandwiches and cakes and the staff were so friendly and attentive and made a special effort with my 6 year old daughter and made her feel very welcome. Would highly recommend!

I have been meaning to write this review for sometime now as I have been using this cafe since 2020 in my opinion it is the best cafe in Kent. Everywhere else I go doesn’t match up to it. The food is out of this world all homemade. The sausage sandwich is so big and tasty and the prawn sandwiches are delicious. They make a great cup of coffee and all their homemade cakes are amazing. The staff are really friendly (Becka), nothing is too much for them and it feels like home. It’s lucky I don’t live in Otford as I would probably go there everyday. Thank you for the five star service and food.

Very welcoming atmosphere with a glorious variety of cake and a good all round menu , stopped for cake and coffee but we were tempted by the lunch menu , fantastic quality cheese platter and fish platter with pot of tea and we were so stuffed we took cake and cookies home for later , great value, hand crafted savouries and cakes served with a smile , will definitely return soon

It’s a very small shop but it has lovely charm to it. My boyfriend is right near the shop so I’ve come here and many occasions. I like the fact for me that the menu is very inclusive and so are the cakes. Such as the lemon drizzle and the Victoria sponge which are gluten and dairy free. and very moist and not dry tasting at all, Unlike some other allergen free from cakes can be. Will be returning again 😊

Went here for a change. Food and drinks were good, just not sure about the service. One minute it was all smiles, then these seemed to vanish. Not sure we will be back.

Pleasant cafe apart from the service we experienced. We were given half a thimble full of milk to accompany two pots of tea. Requested more so waitress took half full jug to fill which then failed to arrive. One of us went back inside to obtain milk to be met with surly response. Given full thimble of milk without a smile. Subsequently had to go back inside to obtain further top up again without a smile. Seriously considered requesting refund of tip. Can only assume waitress awaiting customer service training.

We managed to squeeze lunch in before the cut off point. Good sandwiches and cakes. Good to be able to takeaway too. Slightly put off by staff using a spare table as a staff room. Otherwise friendly and efficient service.

Otford is beautiful, especially in my dreams when there is not much traffic. Sally's Cake Emporium is a wholly unexpected gem. Good fresh food, friendly service, quirky decor ... and only 100 yards away from a real live mermaid!

After having a walk in otford, going to Sally’s cake emporium is always a great idea. The food is absolutely amazing, they have a great gluten free range as well. The staff there are so kind and where very welcoming. I definitely recommend.

Picked up an afternoon tea for my parents - both who are in their 80’s and haven’t been able to go out for months and months now. It looked delicious and very generous. They ended up having it for both lunch and tea and said it was wonderful! Thank you all at Sally’s for a lovely treat for my parents, for your service and advice. Can’t wait for when we are allowed to sit down with friends and family again - will definitely be back.

I come to Sally’s regularly on my weekend walks and am regularly impressed by the service and the quality of the food and drinks. The staff offer an 8* service in a busy but tight packed shop with overtly demanding customers at times... The surroundings are brilliant and the BLT is a work of art. It is much better than their counterparts in the village who offer low quality sandwiches at £5 each... and don’t even take card! All the best team and have a great Christmas! Sally deserves a cook book ❤️

We was blown away with a stunning afternoon tea for adults and children.Excellent value with outstanding produce.Two very happy 5 years olds who was in their element using the china cups and tea pot and eating sandwiches and sweet treats.The adult afternoon teas were also delicious, we was full to the brim.Everything was fantastic.Also the staff members are just fantastic, friendly, happy and couldn’t do enough.

We visited for the first time based on the positive reviews. This is a lovely traditional tea room, with a great selection of home made cakes. We stayed for lunch, I had the cheese platter which was lovely.The only reason that this is not a 5* review is that it took a long time for our table to be cleared /cake order to be taken, despite asking twice over a period of time. It wouldn't stop me returning if in the area again though.

Sally’s cake Emporium is a great little tea room, Oxford doesn’t have a great many shops but if your looking for somewhere to have lunch or afternoon tea then this is well worth it. The food is great and the staff are very attentive. I will definitely be going back again.

Went into Sally’s Cake Emporium and ordered two ice-creams, scone with jam & cream, and two iced coffees.Place was not really busy and took some time for the waitress to bring out the coffee. Coffee tasted very watery, weak, and milky. We requested that it be made with more ice.After another long wait, the scone, jam, and cream were bought to the table. I sat there waiting for the silverware but ended up going to get a knife myself.Eventually, they bought out the two ice creams and apologized for the wait stating they were very busy (the shop was not busy). Then came the second attempt with the iced coffee, it was served exactly the same way as the first attempt so I called the waitress over again and explained that I needed more Ice in both of the coffees. The waitress did not seem to listen and barked 'this is how we make them'. I said, yes I know that but can we have more ice please, and after a few minutes the same waitress came over with a glass half full of ice.Not happy I called the waitress over again and explained that I ordered the coffee to be like the ones on the table behind me. Again, the waitress barked, took the coffee's, and came back with both of them filled with ice. Dumped them on the table leaning into my wife's face barking 'is that okay now'.I complained to the manageress but she acted like she could not care. Would steer clear of this place, cakes look good but some of the waiting staff are nasty ignorant rude people.

I have been to this cafe and also had takeaway afternoon tea a few times. The food is absolutely delicious, whether eaten in the cafe or as a takeaway. Would recommend.

16 ladies went to this lovely venue to celebrate a special birthday. Everything about it was exceptional, the food, the service, the china and the location. There is a large car park very close making life easy and it is set in a very nice village. The sandwiches were delicious and the scones to die for. We were offered more tea and coffee all the time. The icing on the cake was when we were offered the opportunity to go and choose slices of the many cakes available and if you could not find room for it, then take it home. I have been for numerous Afternoon Teas and this was certainly one of the best. Will certainly be returning.

Unfortunately this is a really pretty coffee shop, with lovely cakes but the staff are a bit abrupt and abrasive at times - I often feel they are doing me the favour. Please be friendly and I would love to come back.

After visiting Sally’s emporium this afternoon I feel I have to comment on our visit. I telephoned approximately a week and a half ago. I told them I wanted to book an afternoon tea. I mentioned my friend, who’s birthday was the reason for our trip, didn’t like butter or spread on her sandwiches. I also asked for directions and inquired about parking. All good, very helpful. On arriving we were told you have booked the small afternoon tea, not the vintage. I said, I was unaware there were two different types. Quite rudely, I was informed, “you would have been asked on the telephone which one you want.” I said, “well I wasn’t asked.” After another rude reply followed, “we always ask.” Anyway moving things forward, we decided it didn’t matter and would have what was booked. We were shown to a table, made up for three people. “Is it only two of you? As you booked for three people.” I replied, “I certainly didn’t.” Again, rudely, “you did, we have it in the book.” Again ignoring this we sat at a table for two. Just after we started our tea, three people came in, walked to the area reserved for the vintage tea, then came straight back to the main area. Sat down at the table made up for three people, that we had been shown to. It was my friends birthday and we certainly were not best pleased with the rudeness, we had been shown. I think maybe the other booking and my booking may have been mixed up. After this our waitress did try to be a bit more pleasant and at the end, she apologised, adding she hoped we enjoyed our tea anyway. She also gave my friend a birthday card. Which I thought was a nice touch. I’m afraid, for us though the damage was already done. So as friends that go for afternoon tea frequently, we will not be returning there. Such a shame.

Myself and a few fellow cyclists stopped here on our route London-Whitstable this weekend. It was just meant to be a quick pit stop to get an espresso shot and use the bathroom 45km into our ride, however the cakes were too irresistible to pass up and we ended up staying far longer than five minutes! Convenient place for London cyclists heading out to Kent with outside tables where you can also prop your bike next to you. It was very clear that the staff cared about their customers and they were more than happy to refill our water bottles which were already running low.

I just hate all this nit picking for trivial matters. Wherever you go to eat if it is a extremely popular place you always have to wait for table clearing etc. Sally is a 1st Class Tea Room and she and her staff go out of their way for every customer that comes in. Her cakes and her food are delicious all made by her. Absolute pleasure to visit

Stopped here on a cycling trip, so couldn’t haves proper meal, but the Carrot Cake was awesome, and the girls in front of house are proper lovely 🤗

Finally had the chance to Visit this beautiful Emporium yesterday, highly recommend to all.. the most beautiful setting and the food and service is 5 star... wonderful in every way.

We were staying locally and wanted to explore the area. We found Sally’s using Google in the locally village of Otford. There is parking close to the tea room and on Sunday’s it’s free. Sally’s is only a minute walk from the village car park.

I went with my husband, daughter and dogs on a walk and came across this little delight when sheltering from the rain. Even though they were about to close they welcomed us (including the dogs) in to the incredibly pretty dining room.

Lovely location and the selection of cakes is great. My friend and I loved the strawberry ice cream the best! Eating them as we sat outside watching the village go by =)

We stopped here for a cup of tea today. Ordered inside and went to sit outside at table. Tea was brought very quickly and waitress ‘apologised’ that the table was dirty walked off and didn’t even return to clean it!

Lovely Afternoon Tea... Sandwiches were so fresh and bursting at the seams with delicious fillings, Scones were fresh and fluffy with plenty of Jam and Cream. One of the best Afternoon Teas ive ever had. Staff are so friendly and kept the tea pots full ! My Mum, Dad and Daughter all enjoyed the afternoon so much we plan to return soon with the rest of the family.

All members of staff were absolutely lovely nothing was too much trouble , service excellent . We selected the vintage afternoon tea and oh wow it was fantastic beautiful homemade sandwiches,savoury scone, quiches the cakes were fantastic I was so full had to take some of mine home. Brillaint.Absolutely delicious.As my friends and I were passing by we noticed the most perfect looking tea room, without a second thought we went straight inside and was welcomed by the most friendly staff and welcoming ambiance, the food wasn’t just good it was fantastic, I will definitely be going back and bringing more family and friends along with me. I visited with my sister and we had the afternoon tea which included sandwiches and cream tea! The sandwiches were fresh and extremely tasty and the home made scones and cake were to die for!! (We had read a review that said the cake slices were small - sorry I have to categorically disagree!) Efficient, friendly service - all in all a perfect break from our journey. Will definitely recommend to my friends and family and will be revisiting as soon as possible! We met Sally and thought she was very friendly and made us feel very much at home. Thank you

Otford is a beautiful little quaint village and Sally’s was just what was needed in the high street. Delicious cakes baked freshly everyday, spot on coffee and the best scrambled eggs - using local produce. I have been many times to Sally’s and cannot fault the food, drinks, interior or the staff. The staff are friendly yet laid back enough to feel relaxed and looked after.

I visited here with a friend and cannot express enough at how lovely it was. Beautifully decorated, Gorgeous crockery and delicious home made cakes . The service was friendly and very accommodating . Will be visiting again soon!

Popped into this lovely cake shop with grandchildren and dogs . Was most impressed. Very dog friendly and also kid friendly as you would be surprised at how many are not. The girls working there are very friendly and helpful putting down water for dogs and a treat each for dogs (most impressed) and took the time to speak to my grandkids. Ordered fruit shoots for the children and 2 cupcakes my self a pot of tea served in a lovely teapot and a lovely bone china cup which I loved as only drink out of bone China at home not some great big mug and had a large slice of the lemon drizzle cake which was gluten and diary free which tasted delicious my husband a piping hot cup of coffee with another large slice of Victoria sponge cake. It’s nice to know that all the cakes are baked freshly every day on site . All in all a friendly clean shop with staff very helpful and fantastic decor. Loved all the flowers outside making this very inviting. Dogs looked after grandkids loving the cup cakes and my self and husband enjoyed ours. Will recommend this tea shop and great value for money. After stumbling across this little gem while walking through Otford we could not have been more surprised at how magical and fairy tale this place is...we have been to most places in Otford and love this place. The attention to detail in the decor and the wide variety of delicious food is outstanding...the owner Sally came over and spoke to us to ensure everything was to our satisfaction...which all surpassed, we had sandwiches and soup which were utterly delicious and different than some of the usual standard around. Everything is homemade and you get very generous portions. The group on the next table were having vintage afternoon tea which is on my list for next time. The staff were so attentive nothing was too much trouble...if you haven't visited yet you are really missing out on something special.

So I originally came across Sallys cake emporium on Instagram and decided to treat my sister to the vintage afternoon tea. Can I just say WOW and thank you very much! We both had such a lovely experience and were made to feel very welcome from the moment we arrived. We had a lovely table right by the window and was literally waited on hand and foot! The quality of the food was incredible and you could tell that the cakes were home made, I must also say I thoroughly enjoyed the slow roasted cherry tomatoes! The staff were very attentive and it was nice that Sally made the effort to come out and introduce herself to us.

Visited with a friend on a sunny afternoon after a dog walk, we sat outside, we were the only customers at the time, waitress took our order for lemon tea and earl grey tea, plus one slice of gluten free lemon drizzle loaf cake to takeaway. Lemon tea was fine, served in a pot for one, earl grey tea served in what looked like a childs teapot, barely one cup and no extra water. I peeked into cake bag to discover the slice was thinner than a thin slice of bread. At £3.25 a slice we took it back and asked why it was so thin? The answer was “Oh, I thought you wanted a small piece”, waitress exchanged the slice, thickness as shown in photo. Very poor value for money, will not be returning!

Popped in yesterday with my son for special tea and cake but felt very unwelcome by the two staff, one who seemed put out that she’d have to clear a table for us? We left and went across the road to the Tea Rooms (very welcoming) Won’t bother returning to Sally’s cake emporium. Very disappointed.

Yesterday we visited Sally’s cake emporium, for vintage afternoon tea. It came with a sandwich of your choice a cheese scone a little quiche cherry tomatoes and crisps.

Whilst visiting antique shop in Otford we saw this cute tea shop and asked if they had a table. A Birthday party was being held in rear and front four seat table had reserved sign with three quarters of an hour to go before reservation time. "Do you think this gives you enough time?" we are asked. "Yes" we reply. Its lovely when staff are friendly and helpful. We order tea and cake. Really nice, home made, tasty and filling. Recommend you to visit.

We happened to be in Otford and saw this delightful, quaint tea room. We decided to pop in and order some refreshments. When then saw the lovely range of cakes that was on display. They had all sorts from Yum Yum's to pastries and then the traditional sponge cakes all looking delicious and tempting! We was just about to order put the lady asked us to find a table and she would come and take our order. We explained that we wish to sit outside in the sunshine, knowing most Cafe's would want payment in this situation. The lady accepted that this was fine & we could pay at the end. It was so nice to be trusted! The service was quick and we felt that we could sit and watch the world go by for hours! We were not under any pressure to leave our table. I would highly recommend this little gem. The two ladies who where working were very polite, friendly & pleasant. Just what the Dr ordered for a sunny Sunday afternoon!

A beautiful interior. Bright and airy. A pink and wooden shrine to tea and cake. Ornate cups, saucers, sugar bowls, milk jugs, cake stands, teapots, caddies and cutlery and walls festooned with trinkets and flower garlands all add to the authentic tea room feel of this little trinket box of a tea room.

Went for a light lunch at this delightful looking tea room. I declined having a soup starter as wanted to save myself for the sandwiches. My husband ordered his soup and we both ordered sandwiches with granary bread . The waitress came back and informed us that there was only enough granary bread for one person. My husband had the white and I ordered the granary.

What a delightful little gem I experienced today with my daughter ! Along with being spotlessy clean and so prettily decorated the staff were super friendly. But the most important thing was the food. The sandwiches were so fresh and flavoursome and then came the CAKES! OMG!!!

Not a normal place to meet for business but a change from a hotel lobby but this was a perfect change. The atmosphere was friendly and personable. There was a large selection of homemade cakes was varied. I will definitely be going there again

Our second visit, and a much more professional attitude exercised by the staff. Noisy member arrived with children as we left announcing to the world that she was not working that day, but that didn't destroy the ambiance.

So happy that this beautiful tea room has opened in the local village. Huge selection of Delicious homemade cakes and scones, loose leaf tea and coffee served in quaint eclectic teapots and crockery. Very pretty decor, immaculately clean. Friendly, welcoming atmosphere. I have become a frequent visitor to Sally’s cake emporium. Breakfast, lunch, light bites, tea and cake they have got it covered. My children love it here too, they do a children’s lunch and the most pretty cupcakes. Definitely worth a visit.

Popped in today for a late afternoon bite. Great food and service. Delicious home made soup Staff very attentive
