Upon recommendation we went for lunch after viewing their Italian Menu online. 1) Food was substandard and an insult to anyone of Italian heritage that would have tasted the main course we ordered. 2) Main Course was sent back for being overly seasoned and unpalatable ! 3) Although we were the only two Guests dining (I wonder why !! ) we poured our own wine, albeit no great hardship, however, having our waiter walk by on numerous occasions you would think he would have enquired whether we would like our glasses filling? All in all, the whole meal was disgusting and not commensurate of this establishment !

Our starters were clearly forgotten as tables around us were served before us when they’d ordered after us and it took the waitress asking if we’d had our food yet to go and find out and then tell us it was still going to be 10 minutes. Then when our starters were cleared we had another long wait for our mains with people who’s starters were cleared after ours getting their mains before us. Starters were lovely once they’d arrived, mains were average, pizza was extremely doughy. Desserts were a disaster, the panna cotta should’ve been described as a jelly and the lemon tart was an awful pastry case and gelatinous topping. The pre dinner “cocktail” was gin lemonade and cranberry juice which I’ve never seen on a cocktail menu, if you don’t do cocktails don’t offer them as part of your deals. Then breakfast was set up around us, I asked for the bill and it was given to my husband who’s birthday we were there for. Drink service is very slow as the bar is at the other end of the hotel and very limited options available. No cider available even though in menu. Overall a disappointing meal.

Burger was dry. We were not asked whether we wanted it medium rare etc. Pizza choice very limited, not sourdough and mozzarella not fresh. Have had better from supermarket. Atmosphere poor. Lighting too dark over our table and service miserable. I used vouchers for hotel chain and was questioned about them during meal, which completely ruined enjoyment of experience.

The restaurant lacks atmosphere, some music playing in the background would help. We felt very uncomfortable hearing the conversations of the other two couples in the restaurant. Service was quick at first, food came quickly, good quality however £££ a bit high on the pricing for what you get. A bit let down at the end of the meal by having to wait for the honour of paying the waiter…. They got a bit backed up with couples coming in and going out at the same time. Overall good, but wish it was great

We went to the Milano restaurant for family dinner on the 11th August, waiter were friendly, not a very busy restaurant so we got seated very quickly. Ordered some starters which was served very quick too. However after a little while my 5 years old complained the apple juice tasted sour, we tried a bit and the juice was completely off. By then my 2 years old already drunk the most of cup, I told the waiter the juice was off and the wait changed it, no apologies… 2 days after my little boy started having diarrhea and temperature. I contacted the Dr.. following Dr’s instructions my boy started getting better after having diarrhea for 2 days, on the lucky side no other serious problem. When I called the hotel and wanted an apology from the hotel, they simply told me make a complain to Wiltshire council and hang up on me!! We live locally and felt shame that our local hotel has such poor service level. Food was ok, risotto was half cooked, had to ask twice for our drinks… We do not recommend anyone to go to this restaurant, and we will share our experience with local community. The restaurant at the stones hotel hotel much better.

We stayed one night in the hotel and had our evening meal and breakfast in this restaurant. My partner and I both ordered the porcini ravioli which was unseasoned, drowned in cream and tasteless. Rubbery pasta with little filling. For dessert I ordered lemon cannoli - supposedly cannoli filled with lemon mascarpone. I was expected light pastry with a nice lemony filling. What I got were 2 rock hard cannoli with no flavour to the mascarpone - swimming in chocolate sauce. I left most of my meal and left the restaurant hungry. Breakfast wasn’t much better. No condiments unless you went hunting (and the shared salt and pepper grinders were not cleaned between customers). Shared utensils to get your buffet breakfast (also not cleaned/sanitised). The only saving grace for this place was the staff who were lovely - and couldn’t really do much but apologise for the quality of the food. A disappointing element to a gift bought for my partner.

Despite the earlier reviews we ate in the Milano as part of a secret escapes package. The food was lovely, freshly cooked and well presented with all three courses and drinks served up quickly in a full restaurant. Starters of bruschetta was fresh and tasty with my wife’s flatbread altered from goats cheese to Gorgonzola without fuss. Main course of meatballs delicious and ravioli just as good with a side of focaccia presented freshly toasted. On this basis I would recommend without hesitation.

Limited menu, NO PASTA DISHES #italianrestaurant. Ordered headless, filleted sea bass which came without head but not filleted. I was given another one with the tiniest fillets I’ve ever seen and I had a mouthful of bones within the first bite. We weren’t the only guests who had major problems. It wasn’t even busy. Extremely disappointed as I’ve eaten in many Italian restaurants.

Hadn't been here since it was a steak and seafood restaurant, but came back and had a really nice meal. Good menu with fresh ingredients. Attentive service from both Brendan and Rhiannon, who were both only too happy to accommodate our requests. Will definitely visit again!

The only reason this review managed to get 1 is due to Keith the lead waiter. Other staff were poor at best & the food isn’t winning any awards.

We dined here last weekend in their heated conservatory area. The wood fired pizzas were delicious and great value. Service very friendly and attentive plus some great local gins.

Enjoyed great food in the open roof conservatory, on a sunny day. (The roof closes when rain) Service was fantastic and my wife had lots of gluten free options.

I was taken to this restaurant for a birthday meal. It was a midday sitting, so not an evening event. There was only one other party in the restaurant, so social spacing was not an issue, and the waiter, a polite young man, wore his face mask all of the time.I noticed a few people chatting at reception, not wearing masks, the receptionist wasn't wearing one as we left, and social distancing seemed to be ignored. Nobody asked the non wearers to put a mask on. However, as far as I could tell, the procedures in the restaurant were fine. The meal was OK. Not bad, but nothing to get excited about. The soup was quite tasty, but rather unusual, being a carrot and mushroom mix. It was acceptable. For my main course I had puff pastry chicken and leek pie.In truth it wasn't a pie, it was a couple of labels of diced chicken in a leek sauce, with a separate puff pastry placed on top. There wasn't enough sauce for the mashed potato or vegetables, so the whole dish was rather dry. It required wine to wash it down. It was cooked well enough, and the young waiter did his best, and was pleasant and helpful. Overall, just OK. Would I go again? probably not.

Slow slowservice. I was ignored for most of the evening. Table was encroached throughout the evening and not covid distance adhered to. Meal was pretty tastleless. The bill was presented to the Male although the female was paying.

My wife chose the Milano to come to for a Valentine's Day meal and made a good choice I think. We'd ended up getting to the Milano earlier than expected, about 30-40 minutes before our booking, and were allowed to go in early.The waiter was a friendly attentive gentleman and helped make the evening an enjoyable one. My terrine starter was good and the mushroom and pesto carbonara was exceedingly tasty. My wife couldn't quite finish her beef brisket main so I finished it off for her; that was very tasty too.When we went to leave it was raining a bit so the hotel receptionist kindly rang and arranged a taxi for us back to our hotel.

We visited Milano today to celebrate my Father’s 80th birthday. Well, we couldn’t have been looked after any better. The staff were all welcoming and attentive and the food was delicious. What more could we ask? We had a great time, thank you.

We dined here on two subsequent nights, the food on both menus was beautifully cooked and presented.

Normally we avoid hotel restaurants as being over-priced and under-performing but Milano's at Milford Hall hotel in Salisbury surprised on both counts. The food was great and the two staff were professional and attentive, despite the restaurant filling to capacity by the time we left.

El restaurante era muy tranquilo, aunque en una habitación separada se estaba preparando un viaje en autocar. Teníamos ensalada de pato y sopa para empezar. My expectations were set at the point of booking our table, I was to meet with family for lunch (6 adults, a 3year old and a 6 month old) I was given a warm reception on the phone and was also asked if we had any dietary requirements that they could cater to! Amazing.When we arrived we were the only ones there! (Thought we were in for trouble but we couldn't have been more wrong.) One of our party was running late so we went ahead and ordered, we chose from the lunch menu which is such amazing value for money (£11.50 for 2 courses or £16.90 for 3; starters included smoked duck and orange salad and crispy battered prawns, mains: sea bass fillet, chicken supreme or lamb etc. and a choice of yummy puds; the white chocolate and raspberry meringue roulade was a winner!). Just before our mains came out our final guest arrived, it was no problem to place an order for her which arrived very quickly after the other meals. The food was delicious, of a high quality and presented beautifully. The staff were attentive but not intrusive and nothing was a problem. It was like we were having a private dining experience without the hefty price tag!Definitely worth giving a go.The hotel where the restaurant is located just on the edge of town, is easy to find and has free parking. The entrance to the hotel and restaurant are flat, they have baby change facilities and disabled loo. All the facilities are clean and tidy. They also have a loyalty card! Couldn't recommend this place highly enough.

Acabamos de tener un delicioso almuerzo en Milán, con un servicio excepcional, excelente comida y un ambiente agradable y relajante. Ambos tuvimos el almuerzo fijo de dos platos que tenía un valor increíble (11. 95 creo). Me sorprende que este lugar no esté lleno. Hay un área exterior para cenar cuando el clima es bueno y un amplio y luminoso bar en el jardín. Muy impresionado.

Nos dijeron que podían conseguirnos algunos, pero sería una espera y nos cobrarían un extra. Creemos que tiene un nuevo chef. También el menú de postres era confuso! ! Varios de nuestro grupo tenían tartas de melaza y pensaron que venía con helado de vainilla, pero que se servía con una salsa sin sabor. En general, esto no fue tan bueno como lo hemos experimentado anteriormente con este hotel.

No estoy seguro de por qué este restaurante es tan tranquilo que es buena comida y un personal amable. Puede ser que el ambiente parezca faltar en algo. No te toma como un lugar para comer fuera a menos que estés en el hotel. Pero no lo descarte, ya que el menú y la comida tienen una excelente relación calidad-precio. Un poco lejos del centro de la ciudad, pero puedes aparcar en el hotel. Puede tomar una copa en el bar del hotel, pero no tiene asientos que le permitan relajarse. Pruébalo, te sorprenderás.

Llegó el lunes por la noche. Agradable y tranquilo en el restaurante, a mí y a la novia nos saludaron Sarah y Rhiannon, quienes fueron increíbles toda la noche. El menú tenía una buena elección y la comida era absolutamente fabulosa, especialmente mi salchicha, pollo tagitelli y cheesecake de chocolate para el postre fue genial.

We really enjoyed our meal here. The choices were varied and when our food came out it was very well presented and the flavours were lovely. We had some starters to share - calamari, Parma ham and melon and bread with caramelised onions and mozzarella. Two of us had the ribeye steak and the other two had lamb rump. All of us thoroughly enjoyed our meals. We also used our Taste cards which meant we got two for one on our courses.

The restaurant itself is compact but a good table arrangement mean’t you weren’t on top of one another. The service was very good initially. The menu was varied with a specials selection too for a set price. The food itself was excellent, no faults with what we ordered.

Good choice of meals, food served hot and delicious. Staff very friendly and polite, nothig to much trouble. They were a young team, Well done to them all.

We were pleasantly surprised by the quality of the food and the portion sizes. The crushed avocado with prawns crostini was delicious, as was the calimari. We both chose the spicy lamb meatballs with linguine and the portion was ample, the meatballs not too spicy and well-seasoned. Would recommend.

A little bit outside the centre of Salisbury we were delighted to find this great Italian restaurant which adjoins a hotel and spa. Definitely worth a visit and dont forget your Gourmet Society card.

Staff were attentive from arrival to departure. We had two courses each within an hour. All reasonably priced and just delicious. Very good Italian menu we were able to choose from a set menu or main menu we went with main menu. Hats off to the chef we left feeling full. HIGHLY RECOMMEND

Ate here last night as we had heard good reports about there Italian restaurant menu. As there are not many restaurants of this type in Salisbury we were all looking forward to the evening.

This has been a favorite of mine for quite a long time. A friend and I have met there for lunch many times and it only gets better with time. The staff changes, the menu changes, but the quality of both does not change.

We visited as we had a special deal otherwise I wouldn't have considered it good value for money. The food was OK but ambience was very lacking. Always a problem with hotel restaurants - how can they compare with a proper restaurant that actually has a team of chefs and a real buzz? Sorry Milano but we won't be coming back.

Really good place for intelligent people, I been there 3 times and plan to go again. I usually prefer sea food for the dinner time, they really impress me. Friendly staff and nice service let you feel relaxed . I recommend for my friends

I visited this restaurant for my wife's birthday and was pleasantly surprised.

we enjoyed eating here so much we did it twice in our stay. The food was excellent as was the service. Very attentive. I had the rib eye steak which was amazing but I still had plate envy of my wife who had the lamb which was simply incredible. Top class

We dined here one night while staying at the hotel. The food was good but nothing fantastic. The staff however were very helpful and friendly. Even with an illuminated wall picture of Venice it still lacked an Italian feeling.

We were booked in for lunch as part of a package with the hotel's Lime Tree Spa. After spending a really pleasant couple of hours in the spa we were looking forward to an equally enjoyable lunch.

Our friends and us have been searching for a good, authentic Italian restaurant locally and the latest attempt was the restaurant at the Milford Hotel. The room lacked atmosphere somehow but the waitresses were very smiley and fairly helpful. The parma ham and melon was adequate as a starter although more ham would have been good. The avocado and prawn starter was again adequate but nothing on the plate gave me a wow. The sea food risotto was quite tasty apparently. Two of us chose the carbonara for the mains but it was very "gloopy" and very filling. The sea bass I had was nicely cooked but apart from some balsamic vinegar decorating the plate and some rocket, there was no real depth of flavour added to bring out the taste of the fish. The spaghetti dish was quite nice and the potatoes we had with the latter two mains were really quite good. Sides were available at extra cost but these seemed to be more rabbit food than actual vegetables so we passed on those. The chianti was very drinkable. The choice of desserts wasn't very exciting. The chocolate sticky toffee pudding was supposed to come with custard but only a little jug of cream came with it. The lemon posset was very sweet and rather too solid a texture to be palatable. At a cost of about £75 per couple, the whole meal seemed rather pricey for what we had and generally underwhelming. Needless to say, we are still researching for a good, authentic Italian restaurant!

My husband and I ate here one night in our two night stay. I wouldn't eat here again. I had a chicken pasta dish with mascarpone, lemon, courgette. It had a great flavour and it looked good so when the chicken was hard and overcooked...

We ate here whilst staying at the Milford Hall Hotel, and it was excellent. Considering we werent massively hungry, the food was so good that we managed 3 courses each! Nothing was hurried, so perhaps not the place if you are in a real rush,...

Fuimos con un grupo de amigos en abril y nos decepcionó con el menú a la hora del almuerzo. Sin embargo, esta semana el mismo amigos y yo quedamos muy impresionados tras una palabra silenciosa. La comida era deliciosa, no picante y bien presentado. Recomiendo encarecidamente el de cereza y chocolate blanco desplomarse. Delicioso. Nos hemos reservado de nuevo en septiembre.

Needed reservations the night we dined. Wait staff and major domo a cut above average. Wide variety of selections on the menu with specialties highlighted. A relaxing environment with first class table settings. Medium priced for two less than hundred.

Milford Hall provides a good range of food, well presented but often with rather inexperienced service. We have eaten there with family, and as a couple. They seem to be rebranding themselves as an Italian Restaurant, but that does not give the whole picture. They cater for large Groups (often in a separate dining room - this week there was a Masonic convention) which can make the whole place rather noisy.

Service by children who tried but weren't trained. Waited for ages to be served. No atmosphere or character and menu choice poor with "none left sorry" for several options. When the food finally did come to be honest it was nice and a reasonable portion but not worth the wait.

went with a group of friends and realised it had been refurbished. Not as good lunch time menu as before. Well presented food but when ordering they only had very few ofeachdish. Some of our people had to choosean alternative.

Would have rated 4 or 5 but their website still shows Seafod and Steakhouse, no mention of the new Italian restaurant. Also, to complicate things, we booked with a Tastecard and their website still shows the original restaurant. The restaurant is within a lovely hotel and unfortunately the bar wasn't manned so we didn't have a pre-dinner drink. This wasn't a very good start although the food was really lovely. We opted for sea bass and beef medallions (more like pieces of fillet), both delicious and reasonable portions. Service in the restaurant was very good. Shame about the issues which management should be aware of and do something about them.

Had scallops and tiger prawns woth chorizo...perfect. Steaks for main with onion rings...perfect.If you have a tastecard you can get 2 4 1 . Food was absolutely beautiful and staff very attentive. Last minute decision was well worth it .

Myself and my fiance visited just after Christmas and were rather disappointed.Since advertising themselves as a Seafood and Steak restaurant you would expect that both are specialities. However, we both ordered fillet steak one cooked rare (came medium at best) and the other medium rare (came well done). We would've loved to have given them chance to rectify this as the steaks were a beautiful cut and subsequently very tasty! However we were unable to as we were left staring at our plates for 15 minutes after we had finished and were not checked upon over the duration of our meal. Food tastes good but poor service (no apology after our meal when we informed them of the error). On the positive it was nice and quiet and there was a relaxed atmosphere. Don't expect anything special!

I dined here with my husband and his grandparents. The menu comes across as very grand with lots of options. It appears expensive so the expectations of the quality of food was high!! The seafood basket for starters was just deep fried fish, greasy and very small for the price. For main I had the scallops....worst choice ever, over cooked and full of salt plus you only got 4 scallops for £18 with no side (literally 4 scallops on a plate), hugely over priced!!! The chicken was bland and boring (not inventive at all). My husband ordered a rare steak which was over cooked!! All in all hugely overpriced for some of the worst food I have ever eaten!! I would recommend anyone thinking of going here to think twice as you will not be happy!! Service was good and attentive but that's not hard as there were only 2 tables occupied in the whole restaurant on a Saturday night (says it all really).

The scallops were nice as a starter although very over priced and I was only given 2 as a starter I would have expected x3. I then had a surf and turf steak which was very chewy to the extent I couldn't swallow x4 bits which was very disappointing for a steakhouse (and given the price). The puddings were nice but again over priced for the quality. We wanted to try something new in Salisbury for my husbands birthday but we won't be returning as the steaks in our local village pub are better quality. On a positive note my husbands monk fish tikka kebab with coconut rice was nice. The waitress was polite although the service was slow due to a function in another room.

What a shame that the friendly staff are let down by management. The food is well cooked, if somewhat unimaginative - on the third night I dined here I really couldn't find anything I wanted to eat except a burger (burgers were out of stock!) There is not a wide choice on the dessert menu, but what desserts there are are excellent. I am not sure I would want to eat there again.

Fish choice was undercooked and had to be returned. On Sunday we had the roast meal. Although treacle tart was on the menu and only six other people in the room we were told there was only one portion available - why put it on the menu? Stale bread used for Sunday sandwiches - really awful.

My partner and I decided to try this restaurant because it was in the hotel where we were staying the night. My partner and I were first served by a Senior Waiter. We ordered Seafood Basket for starter. I ordered Medium rare steak and my partner corn roast chicken for main course. After placing the food order I told the Senior Waiter that we are sharing the starter and we would like all the food served at the same time. Then as I was looking at the menu to order our drinks, the waiter took the menu from my hand, I was appalled and shocked. I told him that I have not completed my order as I was looking at the drinks section to order our drinks. He rudely replied that he would get back to me and left. 15 minutes later we still did not have any drinks or food. I called the same waiter over and told him that we were still waiting for the menu to place the order for our drinks. He shrugged his shoulder and said he was busy and then proceeded to walked away. A few minutes later he sent a waitress to our table and she asked what we would like to drink . I told her how could I order my drinks without the menu! After she brought the menu I ordered a glass of white wine and a glass of still water with a slice of lemon. However, she only brought me a glass of white wine but not the glass of water. When the Seafood Basket starter was finally served, we were not given any plates. We continued to wait for our main course as we had specifically told the Senior Waiter that we wanted all our food served together. 10 minutes later there was still no sight of our main courses and our starter was by then already cold. We were also still waiting for them to bring us plates. The waiter called Ellis then noticed that we were very unhappy. He came to our table and asked what did we order for our main course because that was no main courses order placed for us. I could not believe this! I said we had already give the order to the Senior Waiter who took our order for the starter. Ellis took our orders again and he also took away our starter as it was cold already to make a new one for us . Later Ellis came back again and asked me what sauce I would like for my steak. It was really annoying as I had to tell them three times what I wanted for my main course. When the foods had arrived, my steak was over cooked and my partner's roast chicken was off. My steak was so tough and chewy I could not even eat half of it. My partner did not even touch the chicken. As for the starters, instead of making a new basket for us, the kitchen just deep fried the same cold food which they had taken from our table. The seafood was hardly edible because they were deep fried again in stale old oil which was used up teen times. This is one of the worst restaurants I have even been to in my life. Not only the service was appalling but the food was not even fit for human consumption. To make matters worst the Senior Waiter was also a racist. We are the only oriental in the restaurant. He went to every table to ask the customers how were their food and if everything was fine but not us. We had to call them all the time to get their attention to get some service. This is one of the restaurants you must definitely avoid.

We ate here on a Friday evening, whilst staying at the hotel for a couple of nights, and I have to say that we were a little disappointed. The menu was not large if you didn't like steak or seafood but I had the burger and my husband the ribeye steak. I asked for the burger with no bun, as the bun always fills me up too much, but was impressed when the waitress came back to ask if I was gluten free, as the chef wanted me to know that there was gluten in the burger...top marks:) My burger was good but nothing special, but my husband had to send the steak back as it was chewy and fatty. The staff could not have been more helpful and understanding, and brought him a complete new meal with a sirloin steak, but again this was not brilliant and he only ate half of it. Not good for a steak restaurant! We had nice desserts and left it at that. This is not a cheap restaurant, and although the staff are amazing and couldn't have handled everything any better, their service did not make up for the disappointing food. This is attached to the Milford Hall Hotel, and as such has a captive audience, but personally we wouldn't eat there again even if we were staying at the hotel.

Whilst staying at the hotel I thought I'd order some food in my room whilst I watched the England game. After waiting for over 50 minutes I rang to find out where my food was, after waiting another 10 minutes it finally arrived. Gravadlax starter was so small I had to search hard to find any salmon, a total rip off for £8.95. My burger was badly burnt and dry, the chips were nice as was the ciabatta bun and onion relish. Overall very disappointing. I'll be looking elsewhere next time.

On a wet yucky day we came to this restaurant for my birthday meal. Was really quiet in there - only one other table occupied!! I'd already looked at the menu online so hoped they had what we wanted - needn't have worried. We ordered some wine and our choices and everything was great. Really tasty food and nice wine. Waitress was nice and amusing. As it was my birthday they put a candle in my dessert which was a nice touch, had a lovely birthday. Thanks. Only thing lacking was a bit of atmosphere - needs some background music or something.

The restaurant has a really nice feel. May be slightly expensive but the quality of the food warrants it.Lovely atmosphere and the staff are very attentive. Would recommend

The meal we had in the evening was well presented, lovely and hot and plentiful. The waitress we gas was very attentive and always had a smile.

Choose at the last minute to dine here. Ellis in particular was attentive and very helpful but the food was a little disappointing. Mini fish supper for starters which was tasty but greasy, sea bass for main which was well cooked and presented. Service was maybe too swift, as soon as we finished our food the staff grabbed our plates. I like to be left alone for food to settle before being asked if I want something else. It's as if the chef is on a promise or got to catch the last bus home. No music or background noise so it was a little too quiet. Just needs a couple of things sorted and it would be great but at the moment I'd struggle to want to go back.

Had a quiet meal togethr, atmosphere was good and the dood was amazing. Staff were attentive and very helpful. The Trout was superb, well cooked and presented. The steak was very good, with a fantastic peppercorn sauce.

Nice all round menu. They specialize in Steak and Seafood. The service is very good and the staff make you feel welcome.

Decided to go out for a meal to celebrate our wedding anniversary. We both ordered 10oz Steak with fries and onion rings. It has got to be the worst meal we have had in Salisbury for a long time. The Steak quality was shocking, full of fat and lacking in flavour. The chips looked the part but were pre prepared and tasted terrible, and as for the onion rings they can only be described as soggy fat laden creations. We raised our concerns and the meals were taken away and we were invited to re order a new meal. We were not confident that the steaks would get any better so we stayed safe and ordered Salmon and home made burger. The quality and taste of these we of the same standard as before so we cut our losses paid the bill and left. Really disappointing experience and will not be returning.

Decent food- my steak was cooked exactly how ordered it and the chips were amazing. Unfortunately soufflé starter was disappointing- definitely pre made and not like any other soufflé I have tasted! Pudding- the chocolate brownie - was pleasant enough. Lovely, friendly staff. Seemed under staffed though as was function on and had to wait awhile. Did not bother us as prolonged the evening out though! Wine is very reasonably priced.

My husband and I visited last night, we ordered starters and main. I had the goats cheese to start which was still frozen and my husband had the souffle which was clearly pre-made and was barely warm so the got sent back. The waitress apologised and said that the new starters will be about 8 minutes, souffle takes about 20 minutes when freshly made so we said we would go to main. My husband had the mixed grill surf and turf which was over cooked and steak was tough. I had steak which was tough too. By this point we where so hungry we just ate it. But £23 for a steak you would expect a well cooked steak. For desert my husband had the bread and butter pudding with custard, the bread and butter pudding was very good but the custard was out of a packet. I had the brownie and ice cream which was OK. All in all I was very disappointed with the food.

Excellent steak and attentive service! Great choice of wines and puddings were delicious. Been a couple of times, this restaurant never disappoints.

Food was first class and the staff were excellent. One of the best steaks I've ever had. There s a lovely atmosphere in the restaurant as well.

Book so not to be disappointed, choice of menu was very good as was the wine. Prices were very reasonable for the quality delivered.

We went here as a group of 8 on a Saturday night in January. We were seated in the restaurant straight away as we had pre booked a table. We were given food menus (and had to ask for the wine list) then left for about 15-20 minutes. A different waitress came to take our food order.. Hang on, we haven't even ordered our drinks yet! So she took both. One bottle of red wine arrived straight away, then a five minute wait for the bottle of white which was just dumped on the table in a spare spot rather than asking who it was for. Then the soft drinks arrived. It wasn't until our starters arrived that the four Peronis we ordered then showed up!! It was at this point that we decided to order another bottle of white then, so it would show up in time for us finishing the current one!!! Starters were okay. I opted for the calamari which was nice but didn't come with a slice of lemon so this meant it was quite dry. I ended up using my boyfriends sauce from his prawns to dip the calamari in! I'd say the starters were quite over priced.The mains made up for the starters. We both ordered 10oz sirloin streaks which were huge! Must have been bigger than a 10oz! I ordered mine to be cooked medium and they got that just right. Not a massive fan of their chips so I'd probably change them for mash if I came back. Shame the blue cheese was a butter not a sauce so I ended up with a peppercorn sauce. We had a cheeseboard to share. The two cheeses we had were lovely but I thought it was normal to have three? Plenty of biscuits and we rounded it off with a port too! Overall, I would come back but would like more prompt service on our drinks. Friendly staff, but at times for such a small restaurant area, it seemed they were over staffed. Maybe they should have one person in charge of looking after each table with others ready to help with the food being served and empty plates collected. I would come back as the food was nice and the service was friendly.

I was really looking forward to this meal as Salisbury does have a shortage of really good steakhouses, but the price tag didn't match the standard of food. There was nothing that really stood out as being bad just lots of little things, the menu that was online didn't match what was on offer, as the menu had just changed, the steak was good but not great, no ice in the drinks, and they had run out of olives. I'm not saying this restaurant is bad, but it was enough for me to say I won't be back! On a plus side the staff were very friendly and helpful. Such a shame!

good a la carte and specials menu. Good range of wines available. Reasonable prices. Exceptional service from very professional staff who made us feel very welcome and nothing was too much trouble.

Good value set 1,2 and 3 course menu for Sunday Lunch. The food was superb, apart from the Yorkshire puddings which were too hard. Puddings great. Staff were attentive and a credit to the restaurant. There was also a pianist who played superbly and really added to the dining experience. The only minor criticism was the restaurant was a bit cold. However, the staff did what they could by keeping the doors closed, despite this being an inconvenience. We departed a happy family.

After viewing the menu online before we visited we had made our mind up what we would eat unless the 'special' took our fancy which it didn't. The food was no more than good, and as such was too expensive, as it was only a spur of the moment visit I wasn't concerned, but had I intended it to mark a special occasion I would have been disappointed, the evening was summed up when the chef appeared to leave before we were offered desert (which we declined)

We ate here because we wanted a great steak and while the steak was cooked well the accompaniments were very poor. The chips were not to my taste and seemed undercooked. We were persuaded to add onion rings to the order which didn't arrive with the meal and when they did were barely cooked and inedible. The cheesecake I had for dessert was tasteless. On a positive note the waiting staff were excellent, polite and attentive. They were let down by the meal which was average at best and very over priced.

Cannot fault the food at all, from breakfast to dinner it was all superb. Good wince selection too. Food always hot, and presented well. Staff very attentive. Well worth eating here

We ate recently as a group of four and nothing was too much trouble for the staff on duty. We weren't overly demanding just made to feel special. The staff were attentive, food good to very good and the overall ambience really pleasant.

totally disappointed a £23 steak that was 50% gristle and uneatable and the comment from the manager was im sorry would you like another beer no offer of a refund or a deduction in the cost. This was our sons 20th Birthday and for 5 people cost us £260 if i was asked would i recommend this place to others then the answer would have to be NO.

I ate here as I was staying in the hotel. Ordered a caprese salad. It turned up as 6 thin slices of tomato (just over half a tomato) with 6 pinches of mozzarella on it. It was priced 8.95. It was made to look like haute cuisine. I sent it back.The rib eye was tough. It had been beaten really thin and was tasteless. No seasoning and no skill at cooking. The chips tasted like they had been heated up, perhaps in a microwave and the sauce was completely without seasoning. The staff were delightful but let down by dreadful cooking.

You get what you pay for...not cheap but quality and ambience.The waiting staff were attentive and helpful. The food was excellent

My main - a filet steak - tasted a bit bland ditto the accompanying blue cheese butter. The restaurant itself was clean with attentive and friendly staff.

We visited for a Sunday lunch to celebrate our wedding anniversary. We wanted a Salisbury restaurant that had outdoor seating in order to enjoy the good weather. The seating area is in a patio that can be covered in poor weather. Unfortunately it fronts on to the hotel car park and rubbish bin area so the view is not great. The manager, Dan was very friendly and helpful and gave us two glasses of Prosecco on arrival in view of our anniversary celebration. The food was OK but lack lustre. A glass of the house white - Chardonnay arrived unchilled - once the staff had been alerted the only available solution was to offer ice cubes! Dissappointing! The restaurant has potential and the staff were friendly but overall the experience was less than hoped for.

My Husband and I stayed at Milford House Hotel for a SPA weekend to celebrate his birthday - We ate at this restaurant on both nights. Both nights, we were waited on by Dan (and both mornings for breakfast!) A very polite, courteous, and knowledgable restaurant manager. His recommendation for the chocolate nemesis was VERY much appreciated!!! (as well as his memory for what I drank the night before - The Wandering Bear Rose went down VERY well!! The tiger prawns were out of this world, and the chicken supreme was like nothing I've ever tasted before. We went away for a relaxing weekend, to chill out, and talk - There was plenty of relaxing, but talking only happened when we weren't eating - The food was FAR to nice to actually hold a conversation while it went down!! We're already booked to go back again in December.. I can't WAIT to see what's on the specials!

Very nice setting, loved the curved seating booth. Polite helpful staff, really nice food and wine. Good menue, I expected the prices to be a little higher as the quality is there. Good well prepared food does not come cheap which I expect and don't mind paying for but I thought £5.20 per pint for a lager top was too excessive.Overall recommended.
