Really great authentic Asian food and reminiscent of trips to Asia and the back street family run places. Our server Emma and English girl was brilliant and recommended the spicy chicken and noodles we had, she was very attentive and knowledgeable and managed everything front of house… Would definitely recommend the food, ambiance and the great service. Really enjoyed it.

A great little restaurant. Food order needs placing in advance presumably so they can buy the freshest produce. Gyoza, Miso soup, chilli and garlic prawn main all awesomely cooked and presented. Washed down with Sake and Asahi. A lovely young lady served us and was attentive throughout. Well done!!

We have been in total isolation since March 13 2000, and this was our first meal out. Tony is sadly in China, but his wife greeted us so warmly, and cooked us wonderful noodles, tofu and chicken, with a Sapporo beer. Another great experience, first class food, ambience, service and welcome.

A visit to Sekura Valley leaves you with a firm appreciation for the unshakable harmony of two concepts: quality and graft. The passion and dedication of the chef emanates throughout every element of the dining experience here, and perhaps does not yet receive the level of acclamation that it deserves. Sekura Valley has a clear emphasis on freshness. The cooking here is distinguished by the use of fresh, humble ingredients, which are prepared with technique and sophistication, whilst retaining a wholesome modesty. Prime examples of this are the gyozas and the sushi, which are must-haves when dining here. The "dancing" of the tuna flakes on top of the okonomiyaki is wonderful. The prawns tasted fresh and had clearly been carefully incised at the back and deveined: something always appreciated by experienced home cooks. Furthermore, the service was mature, gracious, and well-mannered: a combination that never fails.

Just visited this amazing Japanese restaurant, previously visited about 6 times and enjoyed take away in lock down. Booked table and, pre ordered meal. Love this place booked for 6 and food and service was outstanding, best meal I've had , it's not the fanciest place you will visit, but if you enjoy good food and service it's the place to visit xx

Tonight was the second time we've visited Sakura Valley in under a week. As two people.who love Japanese food and enjoy exploring new places to try, this is THE best Japanese food we've eaten in the UK. The service is friendly and relaxed, and the one member of staff who cooks everything/takes phone orders/serves does everything she can to make you welcome. The portion sizes are way above expectation and there is no loss of quality with the added quantity. Amazing value for money, the gyozas, miso are a personal favourite and the avocado maki is mouth watering. You will not regret going to this restaurant! If you love japensese food look no further!!!!

We have been having take aways from here during lockdown but we decided to go and eat in today. What a treat and a pleasure. It is a small cosy venue which only has space for maybe 15 people if that. We were the only people here at this time which was nice as it was quiet but with some authentic music playing quietly in the background it really added to the experience. The food was absolutely gorgeous! We ordered chicken gyzos, tempura prawns, crazy seafood roll and prawn ramen, chicken katsu curry. All of the food was so fresh and tasty, the sushi in this restaurant is absolutely superb! I think before hand they were doing a 24 hour order in advance system but the owner is now very flexible with this and for the past few times has been able to make it on the same day and it never fails to impress! The curry and the ramen was delicious and we will certainly be back to experience some more of the dishes. If you're thinking of visiting wagamamas.... don't. Book here and you will definitely not be disappointed!

We have enjoyed takeaways during lockdown, but nothing beats the tempura hot from the pan or the seafood okonomiyake pancake with the wafer thin tuna flakes dancing on top. Love the Vegetarian-dragon too. You can BYO drinks for a corkage fee I like That you have to book &order food in advance - environmentally friendly - no waste & quick service

Straight from the wok to your table! Authentic freshly cooked tasty Japanese cuisine. This is not the dining room of the Ritz hotel, it's more like sitting at the chef's table, with the kitchen nearby where you can hear, and smell (and if in the right seat) see the food being cooked. The service was polite and accommodating. There were plenty of Asian bottled beers on offer but some drinks were not available, though the star attraction is really the food. We were treated very well with nothing being too much trouble. If you go knowing what to expect, which is just great food, then you won't be disappointed. The portion sizes were big and the sushi rolls were large. Would I go here for a very special occasion? Possibly not. This really is a place to go and experience the food and enjoy a drink. For the foody you are in for a real treat, Asian cuisine at it's very best. Top tip - To enjoy your visit - Take cash, and book 24 hours in advance for certain dishes (e.g. Sushi). Tip for the owner- consider playing some Japanese background music to add to the atmosphere. Would I go back! oh yes!!

Dumplings are good, curry was okay. Main critism is the size of the place, its tiny! Had to stand in the toilet to wait for our table? Madness. Also only one person working. They do what they can with the size but dont think Id be visiting as felt claustrophobic . Can hear everyone elses conversations and people chewing Maybe put some music on until you can find a bigger premises. Also not the best atmosphere and only flat bottles to go with the spirits and no plum wine Giving it a 3 as the food is decent and the size isnt there fault i guess

There is street parking nearby and if in doubt there is a supermarket carpark just down the road. It is a small restaurant, quite cramped and interested deco... an interesting extension lead dangling from the ceiling for a standing heater. Albeit, it is exactly how I would want it to be! I wouldn't want it to change! Something very endearing about it and also quite funny. It makes it a very very informal and relaxed atmosphere. Although it was a bit cold even with the portable heater on. The staff were friendly, the waitresses seemed quite young and inexperienced and one of them had a cardigan on that kept shedding fluff... and also dangled down into food... probs would've liked them to be a bit more attentive e.g. Keep an eye on when drinks were finished and check if all is okay. The beer was great, quite pricey though, about £4 for a small bottle! The food was home cooked for sure, very fresh and tasty! The sushi pieces where HUGE! Usually can comfortably fit a piece in my mouth all at once but this was a bit tricky. This is certainly no high end restaurant rather fresh home cooked food. I would recommend and I would come back. Would like soft shell crab on the menu...

How does she do it? This place is small and you definitely need to book on advance, but it is well worth it. Excellent choice of starters, but the selection of gyozas does it for us. However the lobster tail fish skewers are compulsory in our reckoning too - so have both! We still haven't got round to their sushi yet, and we've been twice in 3 days! So first impressions were negative for a few reasons - 1. I was told on the phone I could order there -> but when we got there we couldnt because they didn't want us to wait.. I was extremely disappointed as we only went for sushi.. which was the only thing we couldn't have. 2. the service was slow, despite only 8-10 people in there. They did apologise, but they should definitely be able to cope at capacity, given their small size. 3. They only took cash so I had to run to a cash point in the rain4. They messed our order up, the noodle type/sauce was wrong when the main arrived. Despite all this... the food makes this place a 5 star. its authentic and clearly made with love and passion. The decor is great. I'll certainly be returning soon with a pre order of sushi! We ended up very happy and would certainly recommend checking this place out....

Second time here for us but my son has been here so many times. The food is freshly cooked to order, you order the day before, the menu is very good and great for vegetarians (me). I was unsure if my daughter would like it, but she LOVED it and tried a bit of everyone's food. There was only one chef on the night we went and the 3 tables were all full but I tell you she did well to cope (there had been a road accident and the other chef couldn't get in). She and the waitress were rushed off their feet to ensure everyone there had a good night and got their food. They kept apologising which they didn't need to do. I highly recommend this place to any one, think my work colleagues are fed up at me raving about it! Cant wait to go back :) Thanks again for a lovely meal x

We have visited at lease half a dozen time and it never fails to make us happy, so much so, we’ve started bring friends here and have got some of them hooked on this delicious food. The mains are tasty but to truly experience this expert Japanese cooking, I would advise eating tapas style by ordering multiple sushi and starter dishes (5-7 per couple). Cheap wine and beer prices, great sake and brilliant food and atmosphere. Four of us visited on a Thursday in January. It was a cold evening and we were sat next to the door which opened direct onto the pavement - it was freezing. We ordered starters and mains. Ordering drinks was an ordeal as the waitress seemed flakey and we had to repeat the order several times. Each drink was, after some time, individually delivered to our table - this should have served as a warning and we should have left then! The first starter arrived after 1 hour and 10 minutes, the next 10 mins laters, the next 5 mins later and mine, the last, another ten minutes! After two hours, the first main arrived and once again, each was delivered at 10 minute intervals so no one ate together. I was stunned but this was my daughter's birthday and I did not want to upset her by having it out with the restaurant there and then so we sat in mute, sad silence watching a much anticipated evening disappear. There was only one "chef" on. People were sat at benches in some areas. The food was extremely poor. Surely this could not be the same resturant. It was one of tghe worst meals I have ever paid for and I would never, ever go bak. And though reasonable, the food is not cheap. Absolutely rubbish. If the owner wishes to challenge me on any of the points raised, I will go talk to them and take witnesses if required. Shockingly bad.

For main course, we had the Chicken Katsu, beef curry & Prawn Yakiudon & Sushi Prawn nigiri so it was great having some variation. As a sushi lover I would really love to see more variation using sushi grade raw fish as the only options were cooked fish in the form of Prawn nigiri or smoked salmon - so hopefully as Sakura Valley's profile increases, this will be possible to source, but we had a great family dining experience and would definitely return.

Group of 9 visited this evening for my Birthday, as always did not fail to disappoint. I can not rate this restaurant highly enough. If you are expecting super duper fancy setting then this is not for you, if you are expecting authentic Japanese food of the highest quality, served with the most impeccable service then this is the place. The sushi is HAND made to order, this is not fast food, its amazing food made as quickly as possible at a very affordable prize. it is a shame 6 stars is not an option. Tony and family, Thank you

People of Leyland support this restaurant now! I lived in Leyland most of my young adult life and we never ever had a restaurant as good as this! The food is absolutely divine. All the ingredients are quality and super fresh! Tony cooked me the best prawns I have eaten in a very, very long time. Too often restaurants, particularly Chinese and Indian overcook this precious ingredient so they become like hard bullets of rubber. Not here! They were juicy and soft and unctuous.

If you ever get the chance to visit and you like Japanese food then this place is a must go destination. Home cooked reasonably priced authentic Japanese food and extremely friendly owner. You must pay it a visit but book first as the restaurant is very small.

This place is tiny, but my gosh is it amazingly stunning. The food is cooked to perfection and the atmosphere is relaxed. The staff are brilliant and the whole thing is utterly beyond description. Will be going again and again soon!

We booked a table via Facebook Messenger for 7.30pm on Friday evening, we received confirmation and were asked to pre order our food. We had visited the restaurant before and the service had been slow (understandably because the food is freshly prepared) so we thought that this was an excellent idea.

Went with my boyfriend and his family for a casual Sunday evening meal and was not disappointed. Extremely fresh, flavoursome food and as authentic as I can imagine! I had sushi and gyozas to start (finding out that I actually like wasabi..!) followed by the teriyaki salmon rice for my main. Was absolutely stuffed by the end of it and for four of us sharing several starters, a large main each and some drinks it cost less than £20 per head! I will definitely be returning!

Fantastic food all freshly prepared while you wait. The owner is very passionate about his food and prepares everything with great care so don’t expect fast food. We contacted him via Facebook messenger to book a table and we also ordered our food the day before which worked really well with no delays. Sakura valley is a hidden gem and very authentic.

We decided to ring Sakura Valley on the last minute on a Friday evening to ask if they had any tables left, and they told us they were very busy but they could give us a small table if we liked. When we arrived we found it to be very cosy and friendly. The place is very small and our 'small table' was very much that! The waitress was very friendly and helpful when I asked her to explain what a couple of dishes were. We decided on a few starters followed by a vegetable stew for myself and the hokaido beef stew for my partner. Both mains were absolutely delicious, and tasted very fresh - clearly homemade from scratch. My partner commented on the quality of the beef and said it was cooked to perfection. The starters came at different times which would have seemed a bit odd if we hadn't been told by family who had visited previously that this was how they served the food. Personally I think that would be a really great way to get food if there were lots of people who wanted to share dishes whilst having a few drinks and waiting for the mains. The mains took quite a long time to come, but again we had been told in advance to expect this. The place was very busy, and the chef came out to check we were happy with the wait.

Did not prebook the place, but arrived early at 5.30pm. Small restaurant with about 10 seats in it. We were the first to arrive at the restaurant and there were no customers.

We visited on a Sunday evening, pre booked place as we heard this was a small restaurant with limited seating. We were glad we booked in advance. The table settings are 3 x 2 places, 1 x 6 place (tight), 1 x 4/5 places and a single place(!). The kitchen is on full view of the guests. There is a really quaint arrangement of bamboo overhead with roll down hessian partitions providing an intimate and relaxed setting.

Just enjoyed a lovely meal here with my family. We were a table of 6, and enjoyed sitting at the long bench next to the kitchen. All the dishes were fresh and tasty, and the menu is good value. Be warned, your food doesn’t all come at once - but that’s because everything was cooked fresh - and for us we really enjoyed dishes coming out one at a time - especially as we shared starters. I would definitely recommend the tempura and gyoza starters in particular and the beef main course was incredibly tender. Thanks Tony and staff. We will be back!

Fantastic restaurant. Great food, friendly staff. Book early and expect to wait a while for food as it is a small enterprise and due to high quality is rather busy. I'm so pleased this restaurant opened in town.

Visited here for a birthday meal. What a find. Leyland is so lucky to have such a great restaurant. The owners were so friendly. Very hands on. The food was amazing. Took a bit of effort using chopsticks but definitely adds to the occasion. We will be going again. Without a doubt.

This is a fantastic place for Japanese food. Everything including the pasta is cooked fresh. It takes time but is worth it. The owner is the cook, and he and his wife are amazing. Very small so book either using the phone or on facebook

Passed by whilst travelling up from London to a match at deepdale , always prefer to buy food in little villages as it’s normally better quality , this one didn’t disappoint, just wished I lived closer as I would eat there again

Awful. Where do I start? Firstly, we were a large group that had both pre-booked and pre-ordered. When we all arrived, a platter of bread and dips were brought to each table (four in total) including a table of two where two children were sat. Naturally, as no one had ordered these, we assumed they were complementary, but couldn’t flag down a waiter to check. Incredibly, once the bill came, we found out they cost £30. What a scam. Second, they tried to charge me extra for a vodka. The printed menu says £4.50 whilst the receipt said £5.50. I doubt most people even notice this so imagine how much extra is being paid by people who don’t inspect the bill. Thirdly, the houmous is dreadful. I have no idea what they added to make it taste so bad but multiple people commented on how awful it was. Fourth, I tried to pay for my food and drinks separately by card but was told no because “people are still eating”. Of what relevance is it that people are still eating if I’m not and I’m not ordering anything else? I want to go, so let me pay? And fifth, as we were leaving, one of the men - I assume one of the owners - spoke to one of the young female waiting staff like dirt. They should be ashamed of themselves. I wouldn’t recommend this place if it was the last restaurant left open in Leyland.
