Been twice, had a barn both times and for the money they are decent. However. On my last visit today, a baker came out, carrying bread stacked up and held in place with his chin and against an extremely dirty shirt. His hands were filthy. One of his fingers looked infected and swollen. No gloves. The people who serve you wear gloves and aprons, yet the people actually making the food out the back have atrocious hygiene. Also, The people wearing gloves are handing money / using till and then touching food without changing the gloves. Disgusting

Great sandwiches and and a wide range of pies, pasties and cake. Chicken tikka particular good.

Best sausage roll i have tasted in years. Pies are good, but the decor needs an upgrade. Cellotaped tiles on the wall, and cracked floor tiles need a replace not a patch up.

Great bakery, food is always top 👌 sometimes the queue can be slightly large but that's a testament to how good the place is, well worth the wait

I have been visiting this bakery since I was a child as I have always lived in Penwortham until recently which hasn’t stopped me from visiting as it’s the best in Preston. The chocolate flapjacks are the best!!

Excellent bread. The granary loaf is to die for. The coffee renoir on a Saturday morning are superb and not to be missed.

I love pies. I travel all over the country in search of the best. Sadly one of the worst meat and potato pies I have had in many years. Looked nice on the outside. However, thick soggy undercooked pastry. One bite and it was in the bin.

Absolutely delicious food and very cheap for home baked food usually the night or morning before.

Love the place. Looking forward to the return of their pork pies!

Without doubt my favourite Sandwich shop IN THE WORLD!! Everything is nice, the Sandwiches are massive and pretty well priced, that's why there is normally a queue out the door. The club sandwich could feed a family of 4 almost.

Fantastic bakery, the bread and buns are really nice, and I usually come away with a cake or two.

Granary bread was to claggy and stuck to the mouth spoilt a bacon sandwich also vanilla slice custard too thick and icing and pastry like cardboard,

The food is absolutely fantastic, always is. However, in the past few months the attitude of some staff members needs looking at. 3 out of the last 4 times I've been given the wrong sandwich. Staff were complaining about having to sanatise the card machine due to me not having a contactless card.

Great local bakery that's been around for years. Everything made fresh on site. I would pick the pies and pasties from here over any chain, and they're a fraction of the price!!

My family and I have been coming here for over 3years and I can honestly say they make the BEST blueberry muffins and home-made cakes and pastries we've ever had!! Everyone who works here is so polite and lovely and I can't believe how cheap it is! I'd choose an Uppercrust Bakery cake over a Laythoms cake everytime!! Plus it would be a quarter of the price and it'd taste 10times more delicious! We've always been big advocates for supporting local businesses and Uppercrust Bakery is by far the BEST, we wouldn't dream of going anywhere else!!

Plastic free shopping for bread (loaves are great, crusty and can have them sliced). Brown and white balms are just the best, can be frozen and great when defrosted. Ginger bread and shortbread great too. I can't recommend this place enough, all of that, plus friendly staff, and no plastic packaging in sight!! (Unless you ask for it!)
