Great for a quick bit and relaxation

Saison is the absolute perfect place to chill out with a drink on a weekend. No matter where we start on Burton road you can bet we'll end up in Saison as it's got the best atmosphere and lovely staff.

Went for lunch. Had a Buriton and two salmon dishes off a small menu. Very tasty. Staff were nice and friendly.

Discounts for everyone but our armed forces! Never mind they take over roles as police, fire and NHS when they go on strikes every other year. The distain for our men and women in uniform is sickening in this nation. I will not be spending my hard earned cash in a restaurant that acknowledges everyone else’s service but theirs.

We were in the other day for food and it was amazing, we now order Deliveroo from them almost every Saturday, I would recommend the tacos. They also have jazz sessions on the Sunday which I love too. Worth a visit.

Lovely bar with great live music on a Saturday afternoon

Coffee remained on the bar until I went to pick it up. Unfortunately crowded place. Staff is friendly.

Love this place, I sometimes forget about it with all the other bars in Didsbury but it’s one of the few where you can get decent craft ale so that’s perfect for me 👍

Great place for drinks, nice atmosphere!

Great place for a beer but feel like the brunch service needs improving. Our food took quite a while to come and one of us had to wait a long time after everyone else for their dish. The food was tasty but quite cold. Maybe there is an issue with communication between the kitchen and floor staff? I feel like it has great potential but we were left feeling a bit disappointed and it ruined the atmosphere a bit having to wait so long for one of our meals to arrive.

The different QR codes system for food and drinks is not the most convenient, but food was really nice!

Interesting brunch menu - I think they said the kitchen was a pop-up - seemingly called Pico de Gallo. So, Spanish / Californian vibe. Delicious dish - ‘Pico’s Spanish Eggs’ and good coffee. Poached eggs were really well cooked. When a chef knows how to make eggs, typically the rest follows. Followed by a house beer ‘Saison’. We will be back!!

Excellent choice of beers, always served with a smile by warm and welcoming staff, in a lovely atmosphere. Particularly enjoyable on a Monday evening for the weekly quiz, which is hosted by an exemplary quizmaster (from 8-10pm)

Really like this bar. Good atmosphere to meet friends in. We finish the night with a round of Manhattans. I like how you can order using the QR code on the table.

Had a fun time listening to the amazingly smooth and jazzy sounds of Gideon Conn tonight. Great atmosphere and super dog friendly. Lovely choice of drinks and the staff are super ace!

This small Thai restaurant in the northern quarter is a little hidden gem just waiting to be discovered. I had the pro iodine of going there for lunch and was blown away by the sweet family kitchen feel and delicious food. Highly recommended.

Very friendly, a good selection of craft beers. However mostly top end craft so can be a little pricey if you just fancy a norm beer or something just wet and refreshing.

A range of good craft beers and regularly rotating taps . Improving each time I visited Given that we are spoilt for quality craft beer in NZ I was impressed by this place . A credit to Burton Rid and Manchester . Look forward to going again when in UK next. Well done Brian and Kylee ( I think ? )

Great little bar with great music and a huge cocktail menu. If it looks busy downstairs there's a huge upstairs area which is usually empty.

It is a nice warm place with a good range of drinks varying from house beers to more contemporary cocktails. The staff are nice and they will serve you quickly.

Grand selection of beers (14 lines I believe) and friendly team who are always ready to recommend the latest beverages. Could do with toasties (maybe one day, please!!!) Edit - food now served.

New owner/management have really turned this place around, around 14 beer lines with great selection of ever-changing beers from local and national breweries. Very friendly staff. My partner reckons they should do toasties - the only 'negative' comment.

Excellent craft beers on tap which change regularly. Staff put a meat and cheese board together for us even though it wasn't technically on offer. Nice chilled vibe. Very good cocktails. Will go back regularly.

Very well located being in west Didsbury and lovely interior inside with a great atmosphere. They have a good selection of beers as well as other drinks that are changed regularly. Would recommend this bar if you are in the area!

We arrived on a Sunday afternoon to find a jazz group playing. This set the atmosphere for a very enjoyable and relaxing afternoon. Enjoying some good quality wine.

Very sad to see my once excellent neighbourhood bar in terminal decline. Saison was launched with a clear direction: excellent choice of rare and classic craft and European ales and great food. Of late it has offered these in ever diminishing amounts. Saison is an establishment with no direction. One week they launch a French brasserie style menu, literally the next week they have a huge deli fridge taking up half the bar. We do small plates! We do burgers! No cohesion, no direction, no idea. Staff of late have no idea what they stock. Have asked for Duchesse de Borgogne on several occasions to be told they don't stock, when it's clearly in fridge. No passion for what they sell, busy sat chatting at bar instead of learning/caring about the beers. Wines terrible, left with cork in for god knows how long gathering dust next to hot spotlights. None of my wine bibbing local friends will set foot in door. Cask ale taps been off for weeks, always a sign of bar on last legs. Thursday nights (third busiest night of week traditionally?) now entire front of bar given over to record stall, back to decks. Barely anywhere to sit, but why would you want to anyway when beer selection is so pedestrian? A couple of Marble kegs is best you're going to get, this in a city with myriad world class breweries offering every style imagineable. Baffling but consistent with Saison overall. I could go on but I won't bore you, other than to say what a great shame, Saison opened with great promise, went some way to delivering on that (excellent roasts initially!), and, since the initial management team's departure, has gone into a steady, aimless, meandering decline. Shame.

Food quite good but service a little hit and miss. To be fair they soon put right the mistakes. (My order was taken but not put through the till so it didn’t arrive with the rest.)

A great ever changing selection of beers on tap and a wide selection of spirits and cocktails. The staff are very knowledgeable and always willing to advise you if you don't know where to start. They also do a very good quiz hosted by the Barry Bros every week which is great fun.

Not bad but abit cramped upstairs

I would rate this American bar style as mediocre. It has a friendly staff and average food. However it is not a baby-friendly place as it has no space to change our little ones.

I love this little gem snuggled amongst the Burton Road massive. It's cosy and charming and has a well stocked bar with new beers all the time. Great place to prop up the bar, or have a bite to eat. Staff are super friendly and helpful with navigating round the beer list - without being too judgey and over-bearing. Food wise, the menu has a decent choice. I recently had the crab cakes on the specials menu which were delicious, as were the truffle fries (definitely worth the upgrade). I've also partaken in the £3 pizza deal, which was actually fully loaded and an absolute bargain. The camembert looks well fit. I shall be dunking into that next time I'm eating there. It's looking cleaner than it used to (not that it was particularly dirty before), and there is a new outdoor seating area for summer. Firm favourite.

Went with a mcr confidential voucher. This place does classic French food. The food beef bourguginon and steak frites was done well. I did feel that it’s more of a bar than a restaurant but that’s my personal thought.

Friendly staff, lovely food (aracini balls super yummy) and relaxed atmosphere. Would recommend for lunch and din we alike whilst in West Didsbury!

I called in one day because I had a big birthday coming up and they had a notice saying there's a room upstairs you can book. There's no fee, you just put down a deposit to ensure that a certain amount of money is spent. The manager was mega friendly and totally flexible. We had just shy of 40 guests and we agreed a menu for some warm and cold buffet snacks that actually covered the cost of the deposit. The place has a very relaxed and cozy vibe and, on the night, they had provided some flowers and candles. You have your own staffed bar upstairs and the food laid out whenever you want it. The food was grand, the service excellent, the alcohol flowed, we had a couple of acoustic guitars along and the place rocked. Can't actually recommend Saison strongly enough if you have something similar in mind.

Awful. We live locally and visited for a friends gathering. Service was terrible and staff were rude. Buffet food was very poor. This place will disappear within a couple of years I bet. There’s no place for an establishment of this low standard in West Didsbury these days.

Came here for a Brunch on Saturday... the croque madam is the tastiest I've ever had ... fresh orange juice delicious , latte perfect only moan you need to sell some lovely cakes like a fresh cream Victoria sponge or carrot cake .. felt we needed something sweet after .. we will be returning

Booked the room above for 3/3/18 and paid deposit to then be told they were double booked. Booking system needs attention.
