Fairly decent brunch offerings, but poor show to serve barely toasted bread and cover toast with pickled onions and rocket to hide the fact it only has a scrape of guacamole on when you're charging high prices. Coffee was just okay. Having cheesy 90s songs piped at ear-piercing volume was beyond offputting and overwhelming and I wouldn't return as quite like to listen to my dining companions... if you are neurodivergent I absolutely wouldn't recommend this place.

We had a lovely family breakfast and the staff couldn't have done more for us as we hadn't booked. I would definitely recommend this but it can be a bit noisy though.

The food was to die for and the staff were friendly and attentive to our needs. I’m not sure I’d recommend the coffee though but that’s just taste preference. Pot Kettle Black deserves a 5* for 2025. Also I was offered a free loaf of bread which was delicious. Ready to make my own brunch now.

It's a beautiful and clean place with fast service. However, we were 3 families with 1 toddler each and definitely didn't feel welcome there. Some of the staff were clearly impatient and bothered by the presence of the kids and demonstrated by 5 the stinky look several times because kids were a loud and active (not bothering other tables but running around and laughing) Also, a lot of the sauces used were a bit salty. The presentation of the plates is amazing, though. Very "Instagramable" but the taste and price not so much. If you're a childless couple or there for some other reason (business etc.) I do recommend since you might get treated decently.

Went in today Saturday lovely setting plenty of seats was served quickly ordered the breakfast and had matccha green tea arrived quickly was hot and lovely would highly recommend quick service friendly staff gorgeous food will be back again don't forget to get your rewards on the way out

Such a good looking place! Very hipstery vibe! Great breakfast, smoothies and coffee. We had a breakfast burger which was super delicious and full of flavour, and one item from their specials menu which was a sourdough with sausages and some Mexican twist on it. Very good! Definitely highly recommended for a brunch!

Been a few times now for take out coffee because it is really nice however each time now i have been waiting almost ten minutes for my coffee, there was no queue this morning so it’s slightly confusing why! I think they prioritise eating in more, wont be getting take out again from now on unfortunately. Lovely coffee though!

Always great. However, they say they're open from 8am on weekdays. I turned up at 8:45 and they said they open from 9am. So their opening hours are incorrect.

Avocado toast £8.50 for the thinnest slice of bread, minimal avocado, and half rocket leaf. I did ask the server if there was perhaps a mistake and was given a pot of avocado at no extra charge. Sticky toffee french toast was a piece of cake, no toast in sight. Used to really enjoy this place but the last few experiences have been disappointing for food.

Best place for breakfast, hands down. Service is relaxed and friendly, menu offers a slight alternative to your usual breakfast, which is welcome. You could sit there for hours and watch the world go by.

Ordered the banana bread french toast; wasn't what I'd expected but still so tasty! The french toast was actual banana bread so more cakey than bready 🤣 A few menu options weren't available but we were visiting on a late Sat afternoon to be fair. Would recommend!!

Absolutely incredible experience I had at pot kettle black today, the service and atmosphere was astronomical, the music set the tone and not to mention my iced mocha was served within seconds. Perfect blend of rich chocolate and smooth coffee. It would be rude to not thank the service provided by the waitress, I will never forget the way I was served and treated. I will definitely be back. Thank you very much to the manager and waitress for the pleasant experience!

first time at PKB in Angel Gardens and was a slight mixup that delayed our food order. Staff were very helpful and immediately refunded one of our group who was in a rush, then gave us our food for free! Even though we really weren't that bothered about the delay. Excellent, friendly service and the food was lovely too - perfect place for brunch.

Food here is really amazing, we got eggs Benedict and dirty Benedict. Portions were huge, worth the price. Servers were friendly, inside is bright and airy.

Been there several times but today I had the worst experience. The waitress was rudely pointing me on the menu that the brunch time was over and I couldn't order. Repeating that she had already mention that before. Apparently she thinks you need to be excellent in english in order to eat in the UK! Good food but poor service.

I've been going here a lot to study, work remotely and just to meet with friends. Food and coffee are great. Staff are friendly and always great.

I recently had the pleasure of enjoying the Sunday Roast at Kettle Black, and I must say, their Sirloin Beef is exceptional! The beef was cooked to perfection—tender, juicy, and full of flavor. Paired with crispy roast potatoes, seasonal vegetables, and a perfectly crisp Yorkshire pudding, the meal was a true celebration of traditional British cuisine. The rich gravy tied everything together beautifully. The atmosphere was cozy and welcoming, and the staff were attentive and friendly, adding to the overall great experience. I highly recommend the Sunday Roast at Kettle Black—truly a must-try!

The Good Atmosphere: Excellent aesthetic, energy and music The Average Food: Middling for what it is - £15 for arancini mushrooms on single sourdough toast. Good enough but nothing exciting. The Bad: Selection of bread and pastries on a completely open display situation less than a metre from the entrance door exposing it all primarily the elements and secondarily all of the customers that are breathing all over it. Small cup of milk for a three year old - charged £2 Portion of very average fries - £5

For such a nice place you have a horrible customer service i was treated very very badly, after i was seated non of the servers came to take my order i had to wave multiple times but nothing as if i didn’t exist, but i didn’t think it’s an issue it can happen but it happened again when i wanted to ask for my bill i had to physically walk to the desk to get their attention and pay. Their excuse was short of staff but i didn’t see any other table being ignored like i was i had an embarrassing experience for constantly trying to get the attention of the staf.

The atmosphere is a million stars. The place is explained and it is all glass. It is on the corner of a large street. The place is spacious and the ventilation is excellent. The food was delicious. I loved the toast with avocado, boiled eggs and pickled onions. It was a beautiful start to a cold and beautiful day.

Had the steak Benedict, absolutely lovely. If I'm ever in Manchester again will head here for sure.

Bacon Toast was off the charts good. I really just fancied a bacon sandwich, but I'm so glad I didn't play it safe. The bacon is delicious, and the cream cheese is a lovely addition. Give it a try. It won't disappoint. Fantastic coffee as always. Impeccably friendly staff.

💔 worst brunch of my life, and they have a good rep here so I was extra hurt! You can see from the pic, the bread was burnt on the bottom - thought it was like a charcoal loaf but no, just burnt? How do you serve something on a burnt loaf? The egg was hard, the avo was brown, and the choice to use hard corn nibs instead of fresh juicy corn was trag. I told the server it was really yucky and the bread was burnt and they made zero attempt to correct anything or even apologise. Felt like an uninvited guest. At least it looked cute 🥹

We had our 10th wedding anniversary Party here. We liased with Sian who was absolutely amazing, kept us updated about everything and helped so much towards the preparation of our day. On the day, the venue looked so lovely, the location is great already but they just made it look super good. Then the food came, we already have been before and know it’s good, but our friends absolutely loved everything!!! Just some of the comments were “the best food I have ever had with no exaggeration”, “the calamari was a massive hit” and “the sliders were amazing”. The staff were fantastic throughout the whole day. Very helpful and very friendly. Thank you so much.

Coffee was good. But as soon as I entered at around 2:30pm, the staff came towards me telling me that the kitchen closes in 10 minutes. Really? So your kitchen closes at 2:40pm at such a random time? It was as if she didn't want me in.

It is a good place to study and work, but definitely not a good place to eat, I think. The price of the menu is now higher than the menu price on the website, and there is not much choice of food

Ideal for brunch with family or friends, Pot Kettle Black has an excellent space, very tasty food and brilliant staff working both the floor and kitchen. Whether you enjoy brunch classics or slightly different food you'll likely find something to eat here. The coffee and drinks are also very nice, as are pastries and bread if you fancy taking some home. The service is very friendly and quite fast, even when busy - and you never seem to have to wait long for a table.

Was very disappointed last Sunday at this places . Me & two of ours TikTok influences went and visited this places with area mangers . We walked in and they said there was no table available . They can only offer drinks that’s it ? Unfortunately there were table available we could cleary see from the view were standing !!! After she said we left the the women oh girl in the desk went if your done can I server the next customer ? She didn’t have any manners oh apologies that was rude of here . After 10 mintes we send one of a camera men inside and are out photograph to see if they could get table ? All sudden we find out they’ve got a table but we didn’t then we noticed why use . This very disguting customer services If I had to rates this it would be 0 they aren’t worth rate at all !!

We visited the property on a very busy Sunday which was also St Patrick 's day.We were a group of 4 people, 1 mobility challenged, and as per a popular establishment had to wait for a suitable table.We noticed that several people would not wait and that was their choice but it was them who missed out.My wife and I had already had a cooked breakfast, she chose a lovely light bowl of granola with berries whilst I had an Americano coffee and a Kouign - Amman. My nephew and his girlfriend asked for and received something not on the menu but they said no problem and just produced 2 Halummi on brioche rolls,above and beyond. We also had iced coffee, a tropical smoothie extra coffee and tea's.The Australian waiter was so helpful and the Scottish lady on reception kept the whole place moving in such difficult circumstances.I have been to quite a few of the places which are recommended by social media and this was up there for quality of food and service.

I could write a long review however putting it in simple words, "The service, the atmosphere and of course the food are so good, they can become addictive. You've been warned!!! Trend carefully!!!!"

Visited on a busy Saturday. While the food was enjoyable, the banana bread took about 40 minutes to arrive. The atmosphere was good but could be loud, depending on your preference. Staff encountered difficulties when splitting the bill, ended up taking us a rather long time to pay. Would consider another visit, maybe not on a Saturday, as I would like to try some of their savory dishes

Went for a brunch around 1 o'clock, but we were informed that the kitchen is closed and we can only order drinks or desserts. So we ordered a selection of coffee and ready made pastries. Average taste. But the atmosphere is nice and waiters were smiley

The Roast dinner was terrible, the service was even worse!! I’m only giving it two stars as it is decorated so nicely and such a nice environment. We came in for a Roast dinner and it was literally served to us cold, carrot purée was disgusting, roast potatoes where “old” tasting and the veg was so crunchy, it took 5 mins to flag someone down to tell them and it took her a further 5 mins to go to and from the kitchen and offer to reheat it! Who comes out to eat reheated food? At that point we’d started eating because we were starving and couldn’t get anyone’s attention but I swear the staff just walk around in a daydream doing nothing.. Finally asked for some hot gravy to heat the food up and some mint sauce (which our server just forgot) and the gravy we got given was like a bitter flavour and ruined the meal anyway, she never even meal checked us so I couldn’t let anyone know that the gravy was bitter and we barely ate half our food. After waiting ages for cold food and watching our server walk past us countless times doing nothing and not clearing our plates, I asked two separate people for the bill and no one even asked if everything was okay when we had half the food still on the plates or compensate us whatsoever.. I’ve worked in hospitality for years, it’s pretty obvious to ask a customer if they enjoyed the food or not when half of it’s not even been eaten. Anyway, after all that, the server gave us the bill (still with the dirty plates just sitting there) and asked if we’d like to leave a tip. Obviously not when the service and food was so terrible. We just paid full price and left in the end because I couldn’t be bothered to complain but honestly there’s a million better restaurants in the area. Coffee here is usually nice but I’ve only ever been to the other Pot Kettle Black. Avoid for food at all costs!!

Went for bruch ..my wife is vegan and had lots of choices for her ...the food was delicious and reasonably priced..the staff were friendly and pleasant 👍

I went here today with my friend and we were so excited to try the food due to seeing it on social media. However, when we arrived the customer service was absolutely disgraceful. At first, the lady at the entrance (I’m going to assume she’s the manager) allowed 4 other people go before us who did not have a reservation (2 groups of 2), to which we didn’t say anything and just waited. We then spoke to the lady at the entrance, who asked if we had a reservation to which we said no and just in general spoke amongst ourselves and laughed we were waiting before and missed out on a table and were just saying just our luck! There was no aggression in our tone whatsoever and having worked in hospitality before we both completely understood the situation, all she had to say was sorry there was no table available. However , she got really aggressive and spoke to us with an aggressive tone and finished by saying, “okay, are you done?” To which I did reply we were not arguing with her and that we was just saying amongst each other, and that she did not need to be rude’. The lady at the door had a high bun and brown hair, but honestly I think she needs customer service training and probably needs to be taught some basic manners. Definitely will not be coming to this branch nor any other Pot Kettle Blck cafes if this is how they treat people.

Another good chill out spot as they served great coffee and consistent food here. I personally really like the atmosphere here very open space and staff are lovely too.

It's not often we find somewhere where everything is spot on but this was perfect. Very welcoming and accommodating, delicious food, great atmosphere, pleasant interior and staff were great. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

First time visit to Pot Kettle Black in Angel Gardens. Staff nice and friendly. Ordered cappuccino but wish I had menu about asking for it at a higher temperature. It was very nice though. I tried the Brekkie Bun - very tasty and filling - good value for money. Definitely visit again.

PKB is local to me and the food is always amazing; however, the staff are inattentive and bad mannered. You have to wait to be seated, and on my recent visit I was waiting a long time at the door and I only had one hour to spend with my father. I eventually asked the chef if we could take one of the *many* available seats and was abruptly told no and to stand back by the drafty door, there was no please, thank you or apology for the wait. I said we’d been waiting a while and the waiter overheard and snapped back at me that he’s in the middle of returning an order to the kitchen!!! He slowly walked to the kitchen and was clearly having a chat to his colleague casually. He eventually took us to our seat and you could tell he had an attitude with us. The chef also visibly shook his head at us from behind the counter!! Talk about rudeness. They switched us to a female waitress and she was very short with us. She purposely took her time and was having chats with her coworkers when we tried asking for the food order and the bill. Really unpleasant atmosphere directed at us with zero respect, for what should have been a nice family lunch.

We went here for breakfast on our last morning in Manchester and boy was it amazing. I had the Dirty Benedict and my other half had the PKB Brekkie. The Dirty Benedict has to have been the best breakfast I’ve ever had. Coffee and purple rain smoothie were also tasty. Service was super friendly despite being a bit slow.

Stopped by on the off-chance and was greeted with friendly staff. The whole feel of the place was laid back but efficient and comfortable.Food was amazingly tasty and such good value for money. Had brunch and didn’t need to eat for the rest of the day!

Came here for breakfast this morning and the menu online is a bit misleading as it has changed and one of the main things we came for wasn’t even on the menu anymore. It’s a little more on the pricier side for what it is but the food tasted lovely. The staff was nice but it took ages for the food to come. Overall it’s an okay place to come to for breakfast every now and then ☺️

Visited 12.09.23 at 11:30am Decent coffee. Food menu availability poor. No granola, no sausages, and no banana bread. No attempt at offering alternatives. Tables crampt - the tables up the stairs were closed off when I arrived, so I was placed crampt by the counter. It wasn't even busy. Disappointed.

I ordered a Brekkie Bun and it came at reasonable time. The price range is slightly high for a 'sausage butty,' and also considering it's not located within the city centre. However, the Brekkie Bun was well executed. Loved the crispiness (on the outside) and softness (inside) of the potato brioche buns. I wouldn't say the fillings were outstanding but they were hot in temperature and not greasy which I liked. I saw other dishes being served and they looked surprisingly appealing too. Will visit again when I can.

Sent for the advertised breakfast pastries but they weren't available until an hour after opening. Very disappointing.

Nice cafe for brekkie brunch. Allow £15-20 per person. Good portion size. Card only, If going on Weekend, book in advance as can get really busy and walk-ins will get turned away. If going by car, there is a Cheap car park near by on Rochdale Rd, after the Marble Arch pub and convenience store (on weekends £2 for 6hrs I think) allowing time for a shopping in city centre and dinning at PKB.
