Three Little Words in Manchester

Been back twice in a week for the Sunday roast, every part of it was cooked to perfection on both visits, Holly the head chef is incredible, we’ll probably see you next Sunday! Front of house staff are super friendly too!

My wife & I had a gin tasting session, with a tour of the facility. Josh was our guide and he was very knowledgeable as well as being really personable. The gins we tried were great and it was very interesting to hear about their differences as well as taste them. Afterwards, we stayed on for a bit to eat and that was also excellent. All in all, we had a great time and would recommend it.

Have been visiting here for drink and food since it opened, it never disappoints. Had a great time. Food delicious and great service.

Had Sunday lunch. Very disappointing. Lamb was very fatty, not much flavour. Parsnip was so hard, needed a hacksaw. Yorkshire was impressive size but again zero flavour. Gravy a bit meh. Wouldn’t go back. P.s. you’re supposed to let down mint sauce with vinegar.

Here for gin distillery tour. Even though it was just 2 of us, Harry gave a very knowledgeable and comprehensive experience. Would recommend

Excellent afternoon at the gin tour, tasting and gin making experience. Knowledgeable host Danielle and the chap doing the tour (sorry forgot his name) were superb. We were in just a small group which made the experience so much more personal I think than if there’d been full table of people. Still waiting to taste our gin we made (advise is to leave it for few days after making) but excited to try it later this week. One tip, eat before you go to help soak up all the alcohol tasting you do!!

We visited last night for a night cap and had the pleasure of having Mia as our host. She was lovely; so friendly and welcoming. The gin is always great here - would totally recommend.

We visited for drinks on my wife's birthday and had a wonderful time. First impressions were great- it is a lovely space and there are so many good options on the menu- loved the 'star map' helping you to decide which cocktail to try. I mentioned to the kind lady taking care of us (Fay, thank you) that we were there for a birthday treat and she brought my wife a free glass of bubbly- an entirely unexpected but very appreciated gesture. All the drinks were excellent- everything we tried was using spirits/vermouth made in-house. The presentation as well as the taste of the drinks was awesome and I've never seen ice like it before- the biggest and coolest (pun slightly intended) I've ever seen. Thanks very much, definitely one of my favourite bars I've ever been to.

I went for a Sunday roast dinner after seeing some positive reviews online and I have to say the roast was one of the best I've had in Manchester yet! The decors nice as well and the staff were attentive and friendly. Would definitely recommend and will definitely be back :)

Came here with our Christmas present Sunday funday vouchers. Distillery tour interesting; thankfully not too much time stood looking at the stills, and really good fun to try the different gins. All a bit too 'Seb & Jen' for me (even the bottles have the story), which is far less interesting than the gin itself, but still interesting and excellent tour guide (didn't catch her name, but Scottish!). Sunday lunch really tasty; fabulous duck pate, beef cooked to perfection, fab Yorkshire puddings and delicious sorbets and attentive staff. My only grumble was the paying aspect. Went up to pay at the bar and basically not given chance to see what I was paying for. Assistant tapped lots of buttons and presented a large bill. I then pointed out that we had the voucher, and he tapped more buttons, and was presented with a not so large total, but was not given any chance to view the itemised bill. I am assuming service charge was included, which always irritates me, particularly when I could not see at what level it was charged (left wondering what one earth had brought the cost up to £68). I would have tipped as the staff were good, but not being given a chance to even see what I was paying meant I left with a bit of a sour taste; shame that that spoilt the experience.

The ‘ Manchester Gin ‘Gin Making Experienced was absolutely fantastic. We went for the gin making experience last Friday and what a fantastic evening! From the moment we arrived the excellent, friendly and Knowledgeable staff went out of their way to ensure that we had a great time. The evening started well with a generous G&T to get the evening going. This was followed by a highly amusing and instructive talk interlaced with the opportunity to try small samples of the different gins so that you could learn the complexities of different ingredients. After a tour of the Sthil’s we had a short break before another G&T of our choice and onto making our own bottle of gin using whichever ingredients we wished to take home… Guidance was given at every step. Not to be missed and highly recommended.

Decentish bar, drinks were nice,but why is there a £2.10 bar charge for the barman making you a drink,isnt this what they are supposed to do ?

We visited after we had been next door for the distillery experience. Graham and the staff made the evening a truly wonderful experience. The staff were attentive, caring and welcoming. Nothing was too much trouble and the whole evening was fantastic. The food was truly amazing, tasty, hot and perfectly cooked. We will definitely return again for the whole experience!

A fantastic experience all round, firstly the Manchester Gin making experience with Danielle which was first class then we followed that up with a Sunday roast at Three little words where the food and service were top notch. Our waiter Daniel was superb and our meal was definitely one of the best roasts dinners we have ever paid for. Thanks team for an all round fantastic Sunday afternoon 👍🏼

I booked the distillery tour & taste as a Valentines surprise for my wife. Absolutely loved it! Really nice atmosphere, very knowledgeable and friendly, welcoming staff, with a welcome drink and then loads of info about the distillery and Manchester in general. The tastings were also fantastic, with guidance about what we could smell and taste along with each of the 6 spirits. The group was nice and small too. We booked a table for afterwards (tour and tasting last 45 mins) and I'd recommend this, as you may want to try some of those you've just sampled again! Would recommend this to anyone!

Sunday roast, cold plates therefore food went cold very quickly. Roast Potatoes definitely reheated & not freshly cooked.

I had friends up visiting from London who are accustomed to good cocktails and we all really rated our experience here. We stopped in after a day out sightseeing so were only casual and only intended to stay for one drink, but ended up staying for a couple more so we could try more from the menu. Our server really knew the cocktail menu and was able to help us work out what we would and wouldn’t like. Bar snacks were very moreish, we had frickles and seasoned fries. Good background music as well. Will definitely be back next time I’m in town for afternoon drinks.

We came here today at 5:30pm just for a drink with my girlfriend to be turned away saying they were full. There were at least 8 tables and seats at the bar empty. Not sure why we were told they were full, we were there for a drink nothing more no food, the staff who greeted us spoke down to us and made us feel we weren’t good enough to be there, we happily went away and took our money elsewhere down the road. Shocking behaviour

Every time I come here I love it more, from the minute you walk through the door, it has such a cosy and welcoming feel, always a lovely atmosphere. We had some small plates before we went to the theatre and they were all beautiful. Staff as always were super friendly, engaging and well just bloody lovely.

We visited for Sunday lunch and had a delicious beef roast served slightly pink. We did complain about the cauliflower cheese that we had as an extra: it was just a grey mush that didn't taste cheesy at all. It didn't enhance our meal at all. The waitress said that she would let the kitchen know but nothing more was said - not even an apology. Otherwise the service was very good, but special thanks goes to Faye at front-of-house who was wonderful and a real asset to Three Little Words.

A must visit in Manchester. If nothing else for the tremendous cocktails and gin - building is also a five star experience. Refurbished industrial warehouses with brick vaults intermingled with modern aesthetics with steel, glass and a fair amount of greenery. Is pleasing for both eye and bustling atmosphere. My company only had drinks in the bar, so I cannot say anything about the set menu (it looked mouth watering though) However, the drinks we had were second to none - my issue is that I wanted to try the entire menu. But I’m not sure a roaring drunk me would fit well with TLWs vibe :) Staff is professional and friendly, taking care in providing a great experience to the customer without feeling aloof. Thanks for the visit (Also! A little expensive, the locally distilled spirits you can buy from the bar allows you to go home with a slice of Manchester and pretend you’re your own mixologist )

Deeply disappointed! Came here for the New Year's party, so I cannot speak of the distillery or gin tasting side of things this time, only the experience on the night. The staff, while bare minimum pleasant, were not very good at their jobs. From a F&B stand point, the sheer amount of spillage on their pours was horrendous, and the cocktail menu of the night wasn't to any one of our groups liking, which was unfortunate. At one point we ordered prosecco and the glass was cracked and broken, the barman didn't notice till pointed out, but was rectified easily. The spillage of the liquor in one case meant the 'g&t' was just tonic. The bar is horrifically laid out for such a large gathering party, meaning no matter where you are, you're getting aggressively bumped into. On the right hand side of the bar, several of us stood when we arrived and staff kept moving from the bar to another room, so us, and the groups near us kept getting bumped into by the staff, so we moved to the dance floor, where there was no space. We eventually returned and a staff member hit one of us with a trash bag causing liquid to spill down them. We kept having to shuffle about as there was no where we could stand. On the flip side, the atmosphere was electric, and the toilet area was clean and the staff on the door who welcomed everyone was very fun, pleasant and informative. Overall, the night was just a let down for a place that usually seems to be high 4*.

Made to sit at bar despite plenty of seats being empty! Staff demanding and taking shots from bar man in front of paying customers! Staff in conversation and swearing with each other! Also had the audacity to charge a service charge when we ordered from the bar! Highly unprofessional! Will not be returning!

Really quite unprofessional service and behaviour from staff , First impressions were good despite being made to sit at the bar (not quite sure why at there were loads of free tables which remained free for the elation of our stay). Order two gin and tonics - lovely! Unfortunately the staffs behaviour left a sour taste! Staff swearing in conversation in eatshot and staff taking shots behind the bar in sight of customers - highly unprofessional! To top it all off we were charged a service charge when we ordered from the bar! What a joke!

My friend and I went for the Sunday Funday which was the gin making experience followed by a Sunday roast. This was a present from my friend, for my 50th birthday. She had bought it for me back in March but I had waited to book it as she lives in Norfolk and always comes up to visit at Christmas time. We had a fantastic afternoon! The gin making was really good fun and we learned a lot while doing it. Our host was really informative and told us the story beforehand about how Manchester Gin was started. We had fun making the gin and had plenty to taste, plus we had two gin and tonics as well while making our own gin. My friend decided to pay extra to make her own bottle. Afterwards we had a roast lunch and it was really lovely. Just what we needed after all the gin sampling! I would definitely recommend this experience and I may even book again myself! Thanks for a great afternoon.

Yet another wonderful Sunday Roast at this gorgeous venue, from the minute you walk through the door, to be welcomed by the lovely smiling Faye this venue is so warm and welcoming, gorgeous roasts and wine, and a lovely unobtrusive singer. Cannot wait to come back again, we all love it .

Gin School/Tasting followed by Sunday Lunch - interesting and fun presentation by Jason. Very enjoyable - learnt a lot. Enjoyed making own recipe gin. If you like a G+T you will love this. Couldn't fault the gin school. We had arrived early, before they opened but were let in made welcome and given coffee, until the "school" started. The whole story of Manchester Gin is interesting/inspiring. Then onto excellent Sunday roast lunch (pork). Throughly recommend. Prompt friendly attentive service. We will definitely return to the bar/restaurant. 2 very minor constructive comments: wider selection of small plates please and the table we were seated at (near the top of the sloped walkway leading to the kitchen) was very tight on space because the seating is fixed (but comfortable) benches

Booked to come with friends on Saturday night. There were 4 of usand a limited menu so we ordered all the nibbles to share with a drink. Waiter returned from the kitchen after placing the order to tell us there were no triple cooked chips....

We recently held our Winter Staff conference here! It was fab, the gin tours were really informative and interesting, and Chloe really helped organize the whole day perfectly. All the mangers on shift worked really hard to attend to any requests, I would defiantly recommend this place for team building activities, events with a difference, and a full day of fun!

Did the gin tasting and Sunday lunch (vegan). It was good - tasting was great experience. I feel the roast was a little small but not bad. Overall the staff made it really good. Service and atmosphere exceptional.

We came for a Sunday Roast and we were greeted with amazing service, atmosphere and the food was to die for! Because it was my birthday we were given complimentary shots which made us feel really welcome and looked after. I would say this is the best roast I have had in Manchester. Came to the bar a few weeks ago and was amazed by the service provided! Just wanting to mention a lady called Emma, she was so professional during her service and when attending to our table. As soon as we arrived she made us feel comfortable and ensured we were okay when finding the rest of our party!!

Given the price it charged, I’d say not worth it as we found things just average, not exceptional. We had sunday roast there and each had a alcohol drink. Service wise, the waiter was nice but the lady showed us to our table was not very friendly. Food wise, the Yorkshire pudding was over-baked, browny and bitter. The pork roast has its fastening string unremoved -see photos . Squash mash too moist. Service charge is only 10%, but we still spent £30 per person for a Sunday roast lunch. very nice interior decor

Took my mum for the Sunday Funday experience which is the gin distillery tour with a roast included. Everything was amazing from start to finish. My mum had the pork belly roast and I had the veggie roast which were both excellent. We tried the special interflora cocktail which we enjoyed so much we had a 2nd round. Staff were so friendly and chatty which made us feel so relaxed and welcome. Decor is great and they had a live singer which created a great vibe. We then moved on to the gin tour hosted by Josh who was amazing. He was so knowledgeable with a bit of added humour. You get to hear the back story, how they make their gins and you also get to try a few of their gins. Overall both myself and my mum thoroughly enjoyed our experience and I can highly recommend it. If I could give more stars I would. Will definitely be going back.

Just been here for a birthday meal and a gin tour. Everything about the place was excellent. Food was amazing, a live singer was playing whilst we ate. This is the 2nd time I've been here. 1st time was gin tasting with food afterwards. This time was gin making with food afterwards. The building, staff, atmosphere and (especially) gin were all amazing. Can't recommend this highly enough! Note: I gave the food 4 stars because the veggie option on the Sunday roast wasn't the best, but the usual (non-roast) menu is superb!

Proficient cocktail bar nestled in amongst a working gin distillery - Spirit of Manchester. Good big space with lots of seating and a dedicated gin tasting room. Not the typical ‘speakeasy’ cocktail joint but better if you’re in a group of 6 or so. The mixologists knew their stuff and made a good Negroni - and offered up a ‘white’ alternative Negroni too. Had both! We were given an impromptu tour of the distillery - nice touch. Really friendly woman at the door - Faye - and great staff behind the bar. Didn’t stay for food although I hear the kitchen is good. Next time.

Expected more and I was left disappointment.. having been to Edinburgh and Dublin distillery tours someone needs to have a little word with hosting a tour here. Being placed in what looks like a store room with 6 crammed in tables then shuffling back out the door to see 2 copper stills is a bit of a poor effort.

What a fantastic team that run this place! The lady on the front was so enthused and knowledgeable which made the visit really! Went here on a tour at the distillery and stayed for drinks after with some fantastic cocktails that blow your head off. The vibe is so on point and relaxed it really is a fantastic night out here. Fantastic place! Did the gin tour. It was very interesting and well delivered. Lots of funny banter and trying all the different gins was an eye opener to the type of gin i prefer. The staff were so lovely here and we felt so welcome. Would definitely recommend.

Visited to do the Gin making session which included Sunday lunch. From stepping through the door it was a wonderful experience. The hostess was friendly and welcoming, making us feel comfortable straight away. All the staff seem genuinely happy to be there. Gin expert Joe was an absolute delight and pleasure to spend time with, talks with passion and enthusiasm about Manchester Gin and its origins, and makes it all relatable for the non "nerds" #if uknowuknow. Thoroughly enjoyed ourselves all afternoon. The building is stunning and atmosphere relaxed. Only one critiscm, the veg could have been a bit hotter. But all in all would recommend highly as a different and engaging day out in Manchester. Keep it up.

One of my favourite cocktail bars ever! This was my second visit, with a small group including a friend who comes about every 3 months. The staff always recognise him and treat us all as special customers. They are genuinely some of the friendliest, most knowledgeable, and conscientious people I’ve encountered in bars/restaurants. The cocktails are incredible. Well thought out and interesting flavour pairings. All of them work so well. We had a (free) blind gin tasting to celebrate World Gin Day, which was a nice added extra to our visit. Food - we had short ribs, crispy chicken, frickles, and focaccia to share. Again, beautifully presented, well-made and fabulous flavours. Very mellow afternoon vibe, nice music, comfy seats, nice loos, and the feeling of being valued customers for whom nothing was too much trouble. Not the cheapest place to eat and drink but well worth every penny. Fantastic place for a celebration - and it always feels like a special occasion in there! Nice to see that service is not automatically added to the bill and as in the old days they leave it to the customer to add a tip if it’s felt earned. (It was, and we did!)

Having done the excellent gin tour we moved next door for an hour of cocktails. Four different cocktails between the four of us, passed them round so we all got a taste. Attentive waiters and a really good atmosphere.

Beautiful restaurant and bar. Me and a friend had the Sunday roast as a part of the gin tour and tasting. We had some hummus and flatbread to start which was brilliant. The Sunday roast was a generous portion and cooked perfectly. Both the sticky toffee pudding and ice cream were lovely to finish off our meal. The atmosphere was lovely with a great singer and guitar player who had taken our requests and played them amazingly! The staff were all lovely and make us feel so welcome. It goes without saying that all the drinks went down a treat. Aside from the stunning gin I would definitely recommend the black cherry rum which I loved! Booked the gin tasting for my boyfriends birthday. It was informative and fun and plenty of gin to try! We enjoyed a drink in the bar after too. Would recommend!

Super spot for Sunday lunch. The roast was delicious and the cocktails well-made. Lovely friendly servers! Its a beautiful venue which is very easy to find. I would certainly return.
