Saint Peter's Fish in Worcester

This is the best chip shop around. Huge portions and fabulous food. The standard is consistently good. We’ve used it for years and never disappoints. Staff are really lovely and always friendly. They work very hard. Always busy and have to queue as so popular but worth the wait. Thank you to all. You’re the best!

Spot on sausage and chips and good value too

Usually really rate this chip shop tonight by time got home food cold very very small portion of chips compared to normal dregs I’d say fish cold as it was 8pm really disappointed my advise don’t go at 8pm considering a queue in shop they would have had to cook more stuff anyway

Staff are lovely and the food is incredible I would highly recommend the chicken meat and chips

Very busy, which is always a good sign! The portions were large and the service friendly. Would have got 5 stars but the batter on the fish wasn't the very best, there were 4 adults and 3 kids, £75.

I had a round roe that was RAW!!!! Disgusting! The chips were far too many, soggy and stuck together. Potentially the fish was good but as the roe was undercooked it put us off our meal. There are better fish and chip shops around Worcester.

Touring around Britain, as an American, I have found that the fish and chips can be so hit and miss. This place is getting it right 🌟 I placed an order for large cod and chips at 13:45, aware they closed in 15mins. First, they cooked the fish fresh to order, unlike some chippies which have everything waiting in the hot cupboard before close, making the fish dry. This was probably the nicest cod I've eaten from any chippy in England, Wales, Scotland and Ireland. So moist, meaty and the batter was crisp and light, without being too thick or hardened as it sometimes happens. I couldn't believe the portion size of the large chips, they tasted great too. My wife and I shared the meal and struggled to finish. Extremely good quality, and value. The guy that served me was very friendly also. Keep doing what you're doing guys, fish and chips is an institution and well done for maintaining the standards and tradition where so many places have gone down hill. 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

Not happy, wife went for large kebab meat amongst other stuff, got given kabab meat and chips instead with less kebab meat than you get in a small portion! What a rip off!

Went to the Malverns for a day out and found myself looking for a quick filling bite. This place definitely solved that problem. Chips were a little stale but I wasn't really bothered at the time. It might be a little tricky to find the shop, but all you have to do is turn right at the baptist church and you turn right again and the fish bar is just a bit down. Close to M5 motorway

Don't have fish and chips often but it is always brilliant from here IMHO. Great service and always have some craic with the team serving. The fish is just outstanding, fresh and very tasty and chip portions are very generous. Been using the place for about 10 years and never had a bad experience.

Busy Saturday. Fancied F&C for a change. Good service and good food. Fish well cooked. Chip portion massive. Only small gripe was that chips not hot. Will definitely visit again.

I reckon it's the best fish and chips shop in Worcester. It's packed out every weekend and the fish and chips are always hot and that's because there's always a cue of people which means there's always a constant turnover of freshly cooked food. Well done st Peter's

This used to be the best chippy by far. Good portions. Lovely food.. what happened... stingy portions . Ovet cooked chips & fish was dry and thin.. hardly any doner meat. Will not use again. what changed !!!

I travel 6 miles to this chippy, best value and best chips for miles.

Smaller portions of cod are always fresh, tasty and well cooked. One or two members of staff are offhand. Please remember not everyone can eat or afford a large order so don't look so downcast when it's just a small order e.g below £10.

Can someone tell me how, at 7pm you can already have run out of kebab meat?? My boyfriend asked for kebab meat and chips. The woman with a major chip on her shoulder (pardon the pun) just said "nah". Not "no sorry we have run out", just "nah". My boyfriend said "what do you mean nah?!" She said sarcastically "well we have run out haven't we??" What kind of person talks to a customer like that and ASSUMES they are going to know there is no meat left at 7pm?! Disgusting. Wont be going there again.

You know it's good fish and chips when your farts are smelling the day after. Incredible service with even better food.

Cannot fault it - excellent service and delicious food, really good portions too.

Just had a regular portion of chips and two chicken and mushroom pies. We have always been more than satisfied with portions and quality. In the last few weeks we have seen diminishing portion of chips and the pies were horrible, burnt crust which was hard and inedible. Sorry St Peter’s you have lost us. Will go to to Cranham drive in warndon where they are consistent with quality and portion size. So disappointed with you as we have used you since you opened.

Always good food, great service and their specials are amazing value.

Absolutely fabulous. The portions are over generous. Everything is always cooked to perfection and never greasy. And as for the season specials,. The deep fried mincepies in batter are just fantastic WoW got to be tried to believe great pud especially with measure of double cream.... (Well it is Christmas 🤤🤤🤤🤤🤪 ).

Not over impressed with the cod, for £8 I didn't expect it to be a bit dry. Can6faupt the amount of chips, they would have fed a family of four.

Service slow, half order completed then left on the side due to lack of organisation. Had to wait for other half of order to be completed which meant waiting for the items to be cooked meaning 1/2 was fresh and the other had bee stood and was tepid. Our local chippy, not for much longer as this has happened before. Shame, used to be good!

We eat from here every wednesday or for a change from there sister shop "Hooked" in St.johns( and yes we drive there its that good!!). The whole family is lovely. The portions are great. The food is fresh and we believe its good value for money. 😋

The fish and chips was very tasty ,and a large portion good value.

We have been customers of this chippy for 20 years and have always had great food AND service. However since the reopening of such places after lock down they have been a 'Just Eat' outlet and therein lies the problem. It is not unusual to have to wait for over an hour to get into the shop, let alone be served. This is due to most of the staff preparing orders for the Just Est customers. Tonight my wife waited an hour and 20minutes. I find this totally unacceptable and will take my business elsewhere in future. And i advise you to do the same.

The portion sizes are big and incredibly good value for money. Been here many time during work break and always fills me up.

Foods great delivery times are terrible, advertising a 65 minute delivery time that’s turns out to be 2 hours very disappointed

Wouldn't order from here again for the second time we ordered from here and they forgot the Curry sauce rang them up and all I got was we will send it right away and they hung up to which we sat down for the meal and I had a fish cake pasty and chips and my misses had a batterted sausage pasty and chip both pasty were cold and tasted horrible my fish cake was over cooked and was solid plus the chips were cold dry and tasted like cardboard never again worse £15 I ever spend wasn't worth the money wouldn't even be able to give it away

Gone down hill since my last pre covid times visit. It looks tired inside now, the chips were hard, the cod? Mm possibly died from old age, price? Not competitive given the product. Shame, used to be my go to chippy.

Although we’ve had reasonable takeout fish and chips on several occasions we come here mainly because of the closeness to our home. However the Bath Road chippy is actually better because they LISTEN and provide the very lightly cooked fish we prefer. The chips, however, are better at St. Peter’s.

Very slow service. Staff don't seem bothered about keeping customers waiting. Food not that good either... quite greasy. There are much better chip shops in Worcester. Avoid unless desperate.

Best around tikka kebabs are the best

Always first class fayre here, and if you can't be bothered to go out you can now order for delivery via Just Eat.

Most of the time their Cod and Chips is acceptable but: If you ask for very lightly cooked fish you will be disappointed even if you ask if you can wait whilst a new couple of pieces are cooked. "Its only just been put out" they claim. They seem to think that crispy batter compensates for fish left in the heater that is tough and chewy. IT DOESN'T. So last week I went to another nearby Chippy and got my LIGHTLY cooked fish. (Chips were not as good though!! Doh!

Excellent quality fish & chips. I've been buying from here for 20 years or more. I have tried others but always come back here. Fish always fresh, chips always superb (even when the potatoes change season,). They use Frymax oil, which absolutely suits me; always let's flavour of the fish & chips come through without any greasy taints. Staff friendly, welcoming and helpful. In a word: Excellent!

After waiting in a que for 40 minutes with my little boy to get a portion of chips I was told I needed to spend £5 to use my card (pressure selling?) I was not happy at all and after waiting so long, so I felt compelled to spend more to get the chips. I asked the server if a lot of customers get caught out by the rule and she said “yeah all the time” so it must be a good earner for the place. There was a tiny little sign behind the counter that took me ages to spot that said £5 min charge, so I told the server that maybe the owner should get a bigger sign. Oh and the food wasn’t anything special just a standard chippy.

My parents have lived in St. Peter’s my entire life so I have had takeout at this chippy a lot, it has changed hands a lot over the years, some good some bad. At the moment the food isn’t anything to get excited about, it’s a standard chippy. The main reason for the Terrible rating is that today I waited for 40mins with my son in a cue to get a single portion of chips, I get in there to order my chips then get informed that I have to spend £5 to use my card (pressure selling?) which we are at the moment encouraged to do to keep contact to a minimum, the server was very embarrassed and was very apologetic when she saw I wasn’t happy, an after waiting so long I felt compelled to spend more just so I could get my chips, £8.50 later I was allowed to pay by card. I did ask the Server if a lot of customers get caught out by this £5 minimum spend rule, she said “it happens all the time” I had a good look around to see if I could see any signs informing customers about the minimum spend rule.... after some time I noticed a very small visa and MasterCard sign and on the bottom of it in black marker was scrawled £5 minimum spend. I suggested to the sever that the owner should get a bigger sign to make it a lot more clear that there is a minimum spend rule You have been warned!

I've been going here for a long time. Tonight not happy how the change is with the chicken meat, it is now apparently cheaper to buy chicken meat with salad than it is to buy just chicken meat. Why has this changed. And a very small amount too. And then 50 p on top for salad. Hope it's not going downhill!!!

A cold wet evening called for a fish and chip dinner. It was delicious. The chips were big and tasty and the fish batter beautifully crisp. Topped off with a portion of curry sauce Bliss !

Have had many fish and chips from here with no problem at all. Picked one up 7th August around 6pm and the mini fish was so dried up it was practically batter and hardly any fish to the point I could not eat it!! Very unusual for this place as always been a good service but not sure I want another fish and chips in a long time 🙁
