The roasts are just divine, so tasty and perfectly cooked. I had the pork which was so tender and melting in the mouth! My vegetarian friend loved his veggie wellington so much, he said it's the best roast he ever had, I would agree with this. But the best of all was the gravy, OMG this gravy was to die for, and there was lots of it! Hats off to the chef! The pub is super cosy with a lovely staff. Strongly recommended for a Sunday roast. They also have a lovely garden with lots of covered and heated sits.

Booked a table for 4 at 7pm on a Saturday evening. Would definitely not be returning, miserable barman, mulled wine was nasty. When we were served at the table we were immediately informed grumpily there was no fish available, only one chicken dish and some other thing on menu ( which only consists of about 7 choices anyway so not much left to choose from). Not great planning for a Saturday before Christmas. We finally ordered gnocchi and burgers plus a veggie dish. It was all very poor, not particularly hot and very bland. The person in the kitchen looked about 12 ( maybe slightly exaggerating but certainly young and inexperienced). Very unimpressed and disappointed

Great atmosphere, lovely punters, really good staff. Eaten often and it was good but better now with new chef and kitchen. My fish and chips were delicious. Big crispy chips, large fish, very fresh in a light and perfectly crispy batter. Mushy peas a bit dry but l didn’t care. Didn’t have room anyway.

The chicken cassoulet is perfectly scrumptious

Genuine friendly local pub the Sunday roast are very good. Real ale is excellent. The bar and kitchen staff are excellent.

Amazing vibe inside. We just went for a late night drink. During winter when everything shuts down so early, after 8pm there is very limited option of nightlife. This was one of the lively places to go late night..

Popped in for Sunday lunch and discovered the new menu by electrick picknik. Really lovely food. Great little hidden away gem of a pub with fun Sunday DJ afternoons playing great eclectic music (Sunday almanac) so friendly and welcoming with a brilliant back garden.

A great old fashioned pub with lovely food and really friendly staff. Small dinner portions if you want one I had small chicken roast and cauli cheese. Lovely. Best staff in Brighton nothing is to much even took a doggy bag home.

What a lovely little pub. Friendly, efficient service and a friendly local called Peter who gave me the guided tour and took me to the 'secret garden'. That's not a euphemism.

Been to this pub multiple times and never had a bad experience, staff are always friendly and welcoming. Good drinks, great food, outside garden area which is amazing in summer and they put on great entertainment. Can't wait till I next visit!

This place is one of Kemp Towns gems...staff brilliant and atmosphere is exactly what you need, chilled, welcoming and laid back. What a proper local should be!

Nice friendly local pub. It seemed a popular venue for late afternoon and early evening on a Friday, but got seats and the service was good. Didn't try the food this time, but many others were ordering and it looked good.

Great Sunday roast and excellent pint of Harvey’s Best. Service was friendly, quick and efficient. We’ll definitely be back!

Cozy pub with friendly staff and a great beer garden

Food was well presented but not that good. The pizza base tasted weird. The chilli may have been entered wrong at the till because it had no meat. The burger was ok. Nachos were quite poor. Not very nice guacamole. Very friendly service behind the bar. Dog friendly.

I found this place by accident. If you're at the marina, the hospital or someplace in the back of beyond then maybe this is your local. It's a very friendly pub. It's half empty usually, but the people there are the good people. Go In this pub and drink beer when you are not planning on drinking beer. Talk to some random people about some random subjects and dri k a bit more than is sensible.

Always friendly always a good beer

The place is amazing, the service was amazing and so friendly. I ordered chicken wings as 'take away' I am sad to say that these chicken wings were the worst I've ever had. Absolutely no meat on them. I was doubting even if was chicken or some other tiny bird. I could've forgiven if the taste was good. Another shocker, have no idea how the dish could be made with absolutely no flavour. I have a feeling something silly happened there, only way to explain the dish. But then, once again, the lady at the till was so friendly I didn't have the heart to go and complain. I should've taken some photos.

Lovely old pub which I haven't visited for 30 years or so. I think it might have been the "Sudeley" back then. Was pleasantly surprised. Great atmospheric decor and a nice range of beer. The pub garden was well laid out and had a convivial atmosphere.

Went during Pride week. Prices are quite expensive. Empty pub at the time. Barlady service was ok but not very warm.

We currently have our first child in the NICU so it is very convenient that this pub is so close by. My wife and I first popped down last Friday for a quick bite in-between feedings. Unfortunately the place was so jam packed, the food orders were backed up and taking over an hour. The staff were very apologetic and offered us a refund without issue (we were the ones with limited time so it was not their fault they were busy). My mum and I popped back in the next day for lunch and it was delicious! That same night I went for a pint and without realising the time (945) I asked for wings, and was told the kitchen was closed, I told the gentleman working that I was spaced out because of all the feedings and he offered to make me something! I declined but the offer was appreciated. Went back the next day (Sunday) with my wife and both of our mum's and had the small roast, it was delicious and very reasonably priced. I only wish we lived in Brighton! Thanks for the hospitality while we're here.

Love this small local pub , great food , friendly staff reasonable prices , fantastic atmosphere went to one of Chris and Dom’s Almanac Dj sessions in the garden , such a eclectic mix of music ,what hoot it was ,met some lovely people and had a a fantastic time made my weekend. We visited the St George Inn which is close to my home , we looked at the menu on our Tuesday night visit and to our surprise the food on offer was all Vegan , we decided to leave but when the young man from the bar said to give the food a go and described it with such passion we succumbed to his recommendations I had the kebab and my friend had chili con carne , it was delicious and very well priced the cook even came out to our table and gave us a complimentary portion of Vegan dessert , I will go back and try other items on the menu sometime soon .

This place has a nice atmosphere and has recently changed to an all vegan menu for its food (like seitan burgers etc). Also does NHS discount on certain drinks and food. Thursday night is pub quiz night from 8pm which I’ve been going to on and off for the past few years, it’s not your usual quiz but it’s good fun.

A really nice pub which has had a refreshing makeover. Lovely outside space. My only gripe is that the food menu does not suit the pub. A burger will set you back 14 pounds. It is a fancty menu in a traditional pub and it just does not work. If they could go back to a more traditional and simple menu, this would be a gem of a place.

It was nice to pop into St George's Inn for a drink at the weekend - as we had been told (by a rival pub) that it had closed down! Not so! It has had a refurb & is now looking fabulous! We just stopped for drinks & although the pub itself was quiet , outside the beer garden was packed!!! great little sun trap. Nice pub, nice atmosphere & now looking good. Reasonably priced drinks too & service with a bit of a smile...

Nice small pub, close to the hospital. I liked the selection of Pale Ales, which was refreshing as so many bars stock your average lager. Nice beer garden with a cosy feel.

Living just around the corner from this pub, I see it at times of day. Always a clean (by pub standards) & welcoming pub. Beer is always cold, 1/2 decent wine list & a new chef, who is turning out good quality pub style food. Avoid Friday afternoons, as it gets swamped with hospital staff & seats are scarce. Great beer garden/patio, in the summer gets the sun from 1-5 ish & is a great hangout. Summary, a great local boozer, quieter after 8, but always a nice, & friendly place to hang out.

Very good place, at least for me, with excellent people and very friendly. It's a family business and they have Monday and Tuesday the drink prices slightly reduced. If you like a good burger it worth it!!!!

Great, a proper old fashioned traditional pub. Good atmosphere, a well stocked bar and good service. What more could you want?! Good wide entrance with step free access which is a bit of rarity in Brighton. Opposite two of the best restaurants in the area Curry Leaf and Petis Pois. Ideal for a pre dinner drink.

I hadn't been here before but on a miserable wet day and a shopping trip we found a table in this bustling pub. Restaurant upstairs or tables in the bar. Family and Dog friendly. Clean toilets!. We had the roast shank of lamb. Big portion served quickly and around £14.00 perfect for a stumbled upon late lunch at around 4pm

Our visit a few weeks ago was spoilt because they forgot our starter (lovely mixed breads with olive oil & balsamic) &only arrived after we had to remind the waiter. I imagine our meals where under way by then which meant one of our four meals was dry & had to be sent back to the kitchen. A shame, as it was a lunchtime & not over busy.

Never been looked after like I was here, the food is unreal and I want to give a special shout out to the gent with the glasses behind the bar, top notch service. Absolute gem of Kemp town, don't give it a miss
