Sainsbury's Cafe - Osmaston Park in Erewash

Have visited several times now. Service consistently slow ,one staff member serving with no recognition of waiting time.Got fed up of waiting so left today.

December 19th had Christmas lunch which was awful hardly any veg roast potatoes rock hard and the Brussels think they were for decoration straight off the shelf not even cooked how you can get away charging for this I do not know

I started to write a review earlier today because nearly every time I have been either the drink machine is out of order or the fresh cake selection is non existent. I decided not to complete my review. I visited later in the day and sure enough there was no hot food, and one fresh cake. In a store with it's own bakery they should at least stock the cake section adequately. Incidentally the notice about hot food contained poor spelling and punctuation.

Late lunch. Black coffee and shepherds pie with peas. Peas a little dry but pie very tasty. Staff friendly and helpful. Will go again

Everything as you’d expect. However there was a strange bloke wandering about loudly proclaiming that he was “preparing for the royal arrival!”. He also kept darting about shouting “BERT!! BERT!! HERE BOY!!” and typing frantically on his phone. When he finally sat down he couldn’t stop drumming his hands on the table and started to sing Oasis songs in a Polish accent. Very off putting, and the staff did nothing.

It’s hard sometimes to get what you order. We asked for coffees, ok. Also a cremated tea cake, following an in depth conversation we got what we wanted. Thank you and well done. Staff friendly and helpful will go again.

Called at Sainsburys for shopping while in derby and had coffee in their cafe on the same site Very nice. Coffee and a free newspaper to read and a chance to get warm Very nice

Sainsbury’s store at Osmaston Park, Derby, is the flagship store for our area. The store side of things is great: the range of goods is as huge as the building. Upstairs is a large clothing area and the restaurant. So... the restaurant is typical supermarket utilitarianism. Plenty of space, loos adjacent... so far so good. However, the running of the restaurant is simply abysmal. Service is slow, the back room staff can’t keep up with simple tasks like washing cutlery or stocking up on napkins. This isn’t a one off - we given them a number of tries, each as bad as the last. Doing shopping? fine. Fancy a cuppa? Go somewhere on the way home.

Easy to get to when meeting on thiscdide of Derby, avoids going through the middle if you approached Derby from the A38 and then ring road. Good parking with cafe access up one of those walking inclined escalators, lift also available. Had a very nice coffee in clean, tidy surroundings.

Good food and excellent service. Clean seating area and able to do a shop whilst visiting.. tidy toilets

Fan of Sainsbury’s so called in for coffee and light lunch. Had Hot Turkey baguette. It was not what I imagined. Turkey had been in gravy and made the baguette soggy. Won’t bother with that again but still like Sainsbury’s, Staff friendly and listened to my little moan. Will go again.

So so disappointed though we would go do some shopping and I would treat my wife to breakfast well below average compared with other supermarket cafes tables were dirty they had not been wiped down the place was so quiet considering it was a Saturday morning food was Luke warm of over cooked it just was not enjoyable had extra on both breakfast 70pence for 1 mushroom really and 80 Pence for 1 small piece of bacon not really what I call value for money will not be going again do not mind paying a bit more for the breakfast but make enjoyable to eat

Big breakfast, but swapping the tomato for an egg. A pot of tea. The cutlery may have been through the wash, but a lot of it wasn't clean and it all had water marks on it. Not clean enough water, not hot, not enough detergent. The food arrived fairly quickly, no tomato but an extra egg. That's the good part. The eggs were cool, the hash brown fat sodden, the bacon covered with a white scum, the sausage looked naff but tasted quite good, warm beans and reasonable toast. The sauce dish had used sauce, salt and pepper packets in among the other sauce pouches. Not the best of experiences.

Not sure if we need to eat, late lunch or early pm meal. Both had pie, mash and peas with gravy. Good decision, well cooked and hot with extra gravy. Staff all friendly. Will go again.b

Needed a nice breakfast sarnie, which was more then provided by the Sainsbury cafe. The area was nice a clean too

My wife and her mum will sometimes have a breakfast or lunch in Sainsbury's cafe, or just a coffee. It's pot luck whether the drinks queue is quick or slow, and when its slow its very slow. Most of the time they will ask for a cappuccino and end up getting a latte as there is nowhere near enough foam.

Decided to go for fish and chips. Well worth it nice piece of fish well cooked. Good staff very friendly.

Relatively quick service, food was as expected. Wholesome well cooked. Inexpensive. We visit here most weeks it's always the same..so nice and reliable

Stopped by with our grandson for something to eat before and after visiting the nearby cinema. Surprised how empty it was but it was the Sunday of snow so staff weren’t exactly rushed off their feet. However, it seemed to take an age to get served even with only a couple of customers in the queue - staff just didn’t appear coordinated. Our food and drinks were fine plus prices are reasonable. Cafe’s on the mezzanine floor next to the clothing section and being away from the main food hall it’s quite quiet, also the seating area is larger than most other stores I’ve visited.

Cheap food and pleasant staff. ( mostly ! ) but they seem unable to cope during busy periods. Ok for a cheap meal though.

Porque no tenía hambre visitó de nuevo el desayuno! . No llegar a casa hasta la medianoche, así que comer tarde llamaba puré de torta de carne ordenados y guisantes junto con un café con leche. Gran café para comenzar y el asistente tenía endulzantes a mano. Leer el periódico y el almuerzo llegó rápidamente. Excelente tarta de guisantes y salsa de puré ligeramente cocidas pero era cursi comestible 7 libras en total sin duda volveremos agradable café ventiladas y limpias situado en la primera planta. El mezzine Se veía en el café de al lado y q, pero no me inspiró. Compras o pasando incluso desplegable si es sólo para un buen café por ahora chao.

Después de hacer mis compras visitamos la cafetería para el almuerzo. Pedí patatas fritas pescado y guisantes blandos. Media hora de espera, mi amigo tenía la comida 20 minutos antes yo mismo como el camarero era caminar por el café que buscan que las patatas fritas de pescado y ordenados los guisantes. Tuve que gritar su decir que era mio aunque su dieron un número. Mi pescado estaba duro los guisantes se podía defender tu folk en ellos y las fichas necesarias para cocinar más tiempo así que la izquierda, y comida.

Freshly cooked english breakfast. Very good value for money. Nothing was too much trouble. Friendly welcoming staff. Highly recommended.

Abundante desayuno inglés completo decente con una taza de té a un muy buen precio. El restaurante es limpio, ordenado, con mesas bien separadas, el servicio fue rápido y eficiente.

Este café es genial! ! He estado viniendo regularmente durante años y nunca he podido quejar; el personal era encantador, amable, excelente comida (que es también una buena relación calidad-precio) y el café es muy limpio y ordenado (como son los servicios)? ? He incluso...

No quería parar de largo, así que me recogió una lista panini hechas de chiller y pedi que se calentarán. Personal moviéndose a un ritmo de caracol, y cuando le pregunté donde mi comida era después de 20 minutos la camarera me dijo que tendría que eventualmente. Después de 30 minutos de espera que salió! ! Sé trabajar en un lugar similar en el pasado que una lista panini calefacción hizo tarda unos tres minutos. No estaba lleno. El personal necesita una llamada de despertador y sin duda más capacitación.

Siempre visitar la cafetería, cuando no nuestra tienda regular. A un precio razonable, con una buena selección de alimentos para los niños. Cocinados a la orden y muy sabroso. Me encanta el pescado y patatas fritas, mientras mis hijos gemelos y Puré Bangers amor! !

Great menus offer a well balanced range of foods at reasonable prices but it takes over 20 minutes to arrive, at quieter times too.

Perfect place for a bite to eat and a cuppa while you shop. Nice selection of food and the service is excellent.

Had cream tea with pot of tea was wonderful lovely clotted cream and the ham was amazing Very relaxing

Upstairs café with views over the shopping area. Nothing fancy, but nice and clean serving quick snacks and drinks.

We just had a couple of coffees as we were staying in a hotel nearby. The cafe was okay, self service and staff friendly. prices okay and coffee was nice. We didn't eat there.

Well you can't have a Big Bbreakfast after 10.30 but you can have a Mega Brunch. The only difference is the hash brown is swapped for chips and the price slightly more. I am glad to report that I thoroughly enjoyed it and cannot wait to have another one! The coffee was also nice, good work.

Popped in for a breakfast two days prior to Christmas 2015. The sausages had been obviously cooked in an oven but not turned so were overcooked on one side and completely white on the other but did appear to be cooked. Bacon appeared to have been cut with a razor blade as wafer thin. Very disappointed with the meal although the latte coffee was good. The redeeming feature was the good service given and good manners of the serving lady.Will stick to Morrisons in future.

We were staying in the nearby hotel and popped in for a coffee and cake. It is pretty basic, clean and functional . Coffee and cake a decent price compared with some cafes but the kind of place you go after your shopping or for a quick coffee and not for a relaxing place to meet friends.

I have been to this cafe on a number of occasions and have always come away disappointed. This time I felt it was time I put fingers to keyboard and vent my frustration. I have tried everything from breakfast to tea at this place and this time I decided to opt for steak pie, mash and peas. Simple homely grub and not too difficult to get right.Following an interminable wait where a number of customers who arrived after me got their meals before me, my 'meal' eventually arrived. This turned out to be a severely over-warmed pie - I won't say cooked, because this thing had been hanging around in a warm place for a very long time and was drier than a very dry thing, acceptable mash, tinned peas and a tiny jug of gravy. The pie was that dry that it absorbed all the gravy in a flash leaving none for the mash which I had to eat with nothing to break it up with. Even with all the gravy I struggled getting the pie down, the pastry was pretty solid and the interior was very very dark and uninviting. This sort of thing should be easy for Sainsbury's to get right; warm up some mash in the microwave, warm some nice frozen peas the same way and just warm the pie through - not dessicate it within an inch of its life. Maybe I should learn my lesson and not go there again.

Large bright cafe with plenty of seating serving a wide range of drink's/food. Service is quick, tables are cleared quickly and just the place to have a rest from shopping.
