Sainsbury's Cafe Lincoln in Lincoln

I looked at the picture of their so called award winning fish and chips. Yes it looked excellent so I ordered that for my lunch. OMG when it came it looked like a piece of battered triangle shaped fish from the freezer section. Grey disgusting fish, cold peas and Luke warm chips. Asked for my money back and got it.

Ordered two breakfasts .Food was warm at best! Hashbrowns were hard and cold . Really not a pleasant experience at all I have esten there many times but this was not at all what we expected .Baked beans were luke warm and had I not been going to work I would have complained at the cafe. I will not be going there again

Awful. 20 minute wait for food despite there being 6 people in the cafe. Eggs were purple inside and hair, chips were hard, absolutely freezing upstairs.

The food served is of a good standard for the price The coffee is good and a good size. Service is polite and efficient The downside according to my partner is the bacon which is now undercooked and fatty. This never used to be the case.

Need to visit a cafe that has lost its way? Pop in here in that case. A once fine cafe has fallen from grace somewhat. It all feels rather tired and bored of it's own existence. A trip to Sainsbury's cafe was once a treat. You paid that extra premium for a touch of extra pizazz. Now you just pay a touch extra for average fodder with no customer service to speak of. Bland food, warm drinks and a cafe in desperate need of a bit of attention.

The Panini was tasty but so basic just cut in half and placed on a saucer sized plate. The tea was terrible it was a teabag in a cup - remenisant of a 'Greasy Spoon' motor way services. No teaspoons close by so the teabag is brewing and I don't like strong tea, so I had to quickly remove the teabag to then put my milk in as that's just on the side to use, before you leave so it would make sense to have a teaspoon supply there???? Either way the cafe I used to look forward to visiting is appalling. Staff unfriendly, substandard drinks offer. No choices in sandwiches, not one sandwich was in nice healthy bread - all cheap white sliced - well when I say 'all' - there was only Ham and I'm vegetarian hence the Panini choice. Terrible think I would rather go hungry than visit again, sad really as it used to be so nice and always full too

Terrible miserable staff poor service! Got a pannini no side salad, had 2 cups of tea, this was really basic, teabag in a cup, then I made the mistake of asking for skimmed milk, the staff member then slapped a carton of milk on the counter, being very generous giving two stars. Will not be going back ever!!

Been here twice. Both times very empty cafe. First time forgot half the food. Second time. Took 40 mins for food. Both plates came out wrong. Ordered a full English. Got half a one. Had to ask for the sausages and egg. I had jacket potato. Asked for it without salad twice as I can’t eat it. But still came with it. Told them I asked for it without as I can’t eat it. All the did was scape it off with the rest of the toppings. Basically just had a potato. Worst place I’ve ever ate. And I’ve had a place give me food poising before.

I used to take my grand children to Lincoln Sainsburys as they loved the fish n chips. That was before the lockdown. Went back today and what a disappointment! Not sure what fish is being used but didn't seem to be cod or plaice. The fish was dry, the 'batter' seemed more like crumbed fish that had been fried. I used to give this 9 out of ten but today I'd say 3 out of 10 is probably generous. Will look for somewhere else to treat the grand kids!!!

Whenever I go to the cafe I am always disappointed at the level of service. Staff seem to want to get rid of myself and my little every time we go. I'm not even given help with taking my stuff over to the table when Im clearly struggling. Serving policy needs to be changed. If it was more like macdonalds and you could choose table service it would be better. The last thing I need is a young member of staff rolling their eyes when Im trying to carry a hot drink, snacks, a number plaque and my little girl. I work in retail and I would never treat my customers like this. Could do better Im afraid to say.

Staff are clearly becoming stressed by not having enough of them on shift. They are becoming rude. I waited for 25 minutes in the queue to reach the front to be greeted with ‘kitchens closed now, it’s gone 3’ - not even a hello. I didn’t want anything from the kitchen and found this very rude. I would have been really annoyed if I had wanted a hot meal! People were queue jumping to get their coffees etc and the staff were oblivious to it. I suggest that on a busy weekend before Xmas they employ more staff and put a supervisor in charge.

Visited today with my sister for coffee and a chat. Excellent coffee, even the decaff can be done in any style and was not weak and poor quality. Didn't have food but it looked lovely will definitely return for a meal. Prices are very good even got sofas to relax and have a coffee and a chat

A very busy restaurant but very good for allergy sufferers. Food is of good quality and portion size.

I ventured into the cafe, not knowing what to expect, but with time to kill, After a short time queueing ,I ordered the "big breakfast" and tea. I picked up a tray and waited for the tea. It seems that I was expected to know that beverages were prepared around a corner at the end of the counter. I collected my tea "mug or pot" I was asked. "whatever I paid for " I replied. I received a pot. I collected my cutlery and easily found a table. When my meal arrived I was shocked to see that the promised slice of toast was just a warm slice of bread with melted butter. I asked the "waitress" for toast, and received the same standard,untoasted. The "waitress" said the toaster burnt multigrain bread but left white bread white. The store's electrical department could surely find a toaster that toasted. If I had ordered a boiled egg and received a raw egg the cook would surely have noticed and corrected it. A qualified cook would not accept this standard if they had pride in their work.

Once again, very poor service, when I say that the young lady serving was doing a great job trying to serve everyone, and do the teas/coffee's. yet at least 2 people could be seen in the back room.two couples in front of me gave up waiting and left the queue putting back food they already had on their trays from the display. I was going to do this but with them going I persevered. Many people in the queue where verbalising their frustrations. But I really felt sorry for he young lady as she was doing a great job, but with no help.As it was late afternoon most people weren't having cooked food but taking items from the display so why there were 2 in the back and only one serving I'm not sure.This does seem to be the way the café is run. Not being local we don't visit often, but have never had a really good experience yet.

excellent cooked breakfast with toast and tea.EASY ordering plus you get nectar point for eating in.Self clearing tables and plenty of seating .Easy access by elevator or lift

Where to begin? Long waiting time to place order and interminable wait for meals to arrive. Fish and Chips lukewarm with fish ‘soggy’ and grey. Sweet Potato Curry awful in every way, with a ‘lump’ of congealed rice, strange pieces of sweet potato with burnt and yet lukewarm coating covered in a thin ‘curry’ liquid. The curry was replaced straight away with a virtually identical ‘meal’ so gave up, made a further complaint, received refund for both ‘meals’ and left. This is the second time in succession we have been totally disappointed, so never again, why would you?

We call in here now and again for a coffee and my other half likes the egg and bacon breakfast. I thought I'd chance a bit of cheese on toast but when it arrived it looked anaemic and undercooked! When I checked, the bread hadn't been toasted and the cheese wasn't browned at all, someone had just plonked a load of cheese on a slice of white bread and showed it the grill!!! I returned it and told them not to bother with the cheese just give me some toast instead, I wasn't offered a refund on the cheesy bit. The lady on the till apologised and I did get some bread that had seen the toaster! Not sure I'd chance cheese on toast ever again. What really surprises me is that there isn't anyone in charge in the kitchen watching what goes out to customers! Wish I'd taken a photo as it had to be seen to be believed! One thing in their favour are the lovely people working there they are all really nice..... just a shame some don't know how to cook cheese on toast!

We ordered the sweet potato katsu curry with edamame beans, an Americano and an espresso. The waiting time to order the food and for the meal to be served was reasonable. The sweet potato wedges coated in a savoury crispy crumb were very tasty, as was the sticky style rice and curry sauce. The edamame beans were a good accompaniment and important in providing a colour and texture contrast and boosting the health and nutritional content of the meal. The coffees were fine, staff were pleasant and we were also pleased to see a second vegan option, spicy beanburger with sweet potato fries.

How slow??? Ages to queue - one person serving. Had to chase order as had not arrived in 20 minutes and by that time, my coffee was cold. Food fine although not very hot!

Went in on a Sunday for a quick bite and a drink. No such thing as a quick bite in this cafe , 20 minute queue to order then having finished drinks another 30 minutes and still no food arrived . Only waiting for a bacon cob . Took the hit and left will not be going back. Very dissatisfied.

When I write slow I mean it - 30 minute queue on a Saturday morning to be told there was a 30 minute wait for good!

Although on the slow side, waiting for food for 20mins so by the time it arrived we had drunk our tea, the breakfast was as delicious as usual. Some staff could do with a bit of customer service training but on the whole we'll go again

Visited here today with a friend for a well deserved cuppa and catch up. There was one young lady serving and whilst we stood waiting the queue was building up. She started to hurry but was under obvious pressure and eventually another young lady came to assist. By now we'd decided to give up on food and just ordered two pots of tea. On arriving at the table it still had a full tray on it and was very marked with tea and coffee stains. We removed all the pots etc and on pouring our tea it was obvious we'd only got half a pot each. My friend went back and asked for the pots to be filled....they were topped up and the response was that she didn't like to fill the pots with too much water! So pleased we didn't bother with food as was our original plan.

A very good cafe usual food on offer,a must visit as the supermarket is massive,as with most Sainsburys the staff are a credit to the company in the cafe and the supermarket,food was ordered and drinks food didn’t take a long time to arrive and was hot unlike some places where your food arrives after you have finished your drinks,a very pleasant experience.

Went here for a quick lunch with my wife and two young children. It took 15 mins to place our order which with 2 young children proved a challenge. Our hot food arrived 10 mins later. I had a panini that was extremely bland. My wife and children all had toasted tea cakes which to be fair were excellent and probably the best they’d tasted. Improve the service and we may return.

Mi marido y yo solíamos visitar el café en Sainsburys con bastante regularidad. Fue agradable comer algo y leer los papeles, pero recientemente todo parece haber ido cuesta abajo. La comida no es tan buena ni está recién hecha, la mitad de las mesas necesitan limpieza y el servicio no es tan amable. Siempre hay una cola para las bebidas ya que el sistema ya no funciona.

Estacionamiento gratis. Un montón de asientos en el café. Un montón de opciones vegetarianas y una buena selección para el desayuno. Tuve el gran desayuno, el tocino fue perfecto. La salchicha y los frijoles podrían haber sido cocinados más, esa es solo mi preferencia. No era para nada grasoso. Un personal encantador. Siempre me olvido de las fotos. Así que no lo siento, no hay imagen.

Sábado 25 de agosto un día ocupado con el fin de semana de "Regreso a la escuela". . El servicio de Sainsbury's Cafe Lincoln es diabólico, lento, falta de personal, se quedó sin comida a las 12:30 hora del almuerzo, tuvo que reordenar y cambiar el orden. Cuando llegó, estaba frío, seco, totalmente desagradable. La mayoría de las personas en la espera estaban quejándose y quejándose del servicio y la falta de cuidado.

El café es espacioso, ligero y cómodo. En general, el personal es bastante bueno. Si la comida era tan buena, le habría dado 4 gotas.

No hay bebidas frías sin azúcar disponibles que no sean agua. Cuando pregunté esto, me dijeron que no había ninguno. ¡Es un gran supermercado! ! no es bueno cuando

We stopped here for a quick breakfast before continuing on our journey south. We were pleasantly surprised by the large, airy and clean café. We had a good, freshly cooked breakfast and excellent scrambled egg with spinach.

With such a large restaurant you would expect the service to be quicker. Only one barista doesn't make sense.

We have been to have a quick meal here many times whilst shopping and we have always been pleased with our meal. Okay, its a shop cafe but never the less Sainsburys at Lincoln did keep a good standard with pleasant staff and decent food. But last week we called in here and got a different view. It was 6.30pm and they said they were closing now at 7pm instead of 8pm.Don't quite know why. Ordered three items that were 'not available' no fish???? no lasagne, and surpisingly no all day breakfast items. So we asked what was left and we chose an omelette as at least it would be fresh. Ordered two with chips, one came with chips one with salad. Never mind. Rather glad I had the salad as the chips were hard and very dark brown. I think the obvious answer would be correct one here. Rubbery omelettes. Mine had very watery mushrooms in that I didn't eat.

Nice venue for a quick snack usual type of sandwiches and some hot dishes soup, pies etc coffee tea just right for that short break

A good all round tasty breakfast, kids said the sausages were amazing, everything nice & hot, would go again

Thought we would have a quick lunch. Told there was no turkey left for a turkey baguette and they hadn't got any baguettes so we decided on jacket potatoes.As there was a short queue we thought it wouldn't take long. 25 minutes later we got our meals with no apology. My daughter said hers was barely warm. She had ordered prawns and cheese. She did not eat the prawns as the sauce tasted funny.Its not often that we meet up but because of the service and quality of the food I felt disappointed with our visit.

we have eaten here before and with mixed quality. but as we were doing quite a big shop decided to have lunch, checked on the queue as it can be very long and only 2 people in front of us, this was looking good. but on ordering were told approx. .20 minute wait for hot food but we decided to wait. the food did arrive about 5 minutes after the 20. it was hot but very reminiscent of a school lunch, lacked flavour over cooked veg. With the café only a quarter full would have thought we had of been served far quicker. but I'm sure the food had been prepared many hours earlier and plated from a Bain Marie. Not a great advert, will stick to coffee and cake in future that is a good experience.

Never more than one serving. Never apologise for the long wait. Feel an inconvenience. Customer Service is non existent at this cafe.

Went here for breakfast today and unfortunately it was poor. We both ordered the big breakfast at £4.50 each and a pot of tea at £1.20 each. The breakfast consisted of 2 sausages, 2 bacon, a slice of toast cut in 2, a fried egg, hash brown, beans, and half a tomato.

You will not be un pleased but surprised at the cleanliness of the cafe, the service is impeccable and the coffee to die for. the cakes are a good range with good hot food

This was my second visit and it wasn't great. As being part of the catering industry myself, it is vital that you hole team pulls together and helps each other as I looked in to the kitchen the ticket machine was loaded with ticket and it looked like the were being very slow! And the food was coming out very slowly! The bloke that was on coffee I ordered 2 lattes and they were Luke warm, I took it to the table and and had to take back and get them to make it hotter!! This is some were I would never go again!

We visited the cafe for breakfast to stop us over buying on the grocery shop as we were really hungry. We had a big breakfast with extra mushrooms. One of the tills were down so there was a longer wait than usual, however, the staff were very apologetic and polite. Although it was busy there was enough free space to have a table near the window. It was very clean and functional. The breakfast was really well cooked and we both found it delicious with good quality ingredients. We thought the price was very reasonable too. We will definitely visit again :)

Had omelette and chips took ages then when it came it was disgusting stale chips and an omelette like rubber just left in I'll be getting in touching with the manager absolutely awful

We had the scrambled egg, bacon, mushroom, tomato and toast breakfast. It arrived swiftly, was piping hot and delicious.

the food lacks imagination and flare. Only a few meters away there is a treasure trove of amazing ingredients. the food is very corporate and the menus will have been blessed by focus groups and higher management. By not to highlight local produce ie Lincolnshire sausages or quality bacon.most of the food os very standard lacking flare. The restaurant has no personality ok I know it is in a busy supermarket but the whole experience lacks.rethink sainsburys.

Arrived here to find it not very busy so me and my sister ordered 2 bacon baps reasonable price waited 5 minutes no problem there until i looked at the dried up cold bacon same with my sisters so took it to the guy who was cleaning tables he was very friendly and asked if we could have fresh bacon not a problem he said 10 minutes later and a bit more hungry ready to tuck into our fresh bacon baps only to find the same if not colder bacon after all that we just got a refund and left will not bother wasting my time again here

Undercooked eggs is enough to put anyone off , dirty cutlery , chipped cups and plates a little pride and passion is what this place needs

Nice breakfast, gorgeous mixed seed toast. Always nice and tasty. You can wait a while for food at times. Staff are friendly

The breakfasts are excellent value for money. Sometimes it can get busy but the staff are always polite and professional.

This is a supermarket so you are not going to get fine dining but what you do get is good food at a reasonable price. I have had some really good lunches here and am surprised at the poor reviews.Yes, the service can be quite slow at times and the decor is basic but what do you expect in a supermarket.Someone described it as a bit of a faff going through the clothing section, it is a very short walk from the top of the escalator to the cafe so no problem for anyone.My disabled husband enjoys his meals here and the staff have been very kind and helpful in sorting out his needs.

Coffee & general service is just shocking here!.. If you want a decent coffee..stay away from here.The whole atmosphere in this depressing cafe is awful.

Typical sainsbury cafe with a good choice of food and a large eating area. The service was a bit slow as it was busy.

This Cafe in our local Sainsbury's is nothing outstanding. It is a bit of a faff going up the moving walkway then through the clothing section to get to it. The coffee can be described as average. We did not eat here but I am tempted by the Yorkshire Ham, Two Fried Eggs and Chips priced at present for £4. The photo of this offer shows a delicious meal but as we know photos can be deceiving!

You'd think that with an order for just two filled jacket potatoes at a time when they're not in the least busy, that they'd get it right first time.Sadly not. How can you confuse tuna sweetcorn with prawn mayo, when its printed on my receipt and presumably the order to the kitchen? Well, they did.If the food had been hot that may have been some consolation. the side salad was OK though.

Called to have a snack before we started our Christmas grocery shop. Ordered 2 bowls of soup with a bread roll, and 2 teas. 30 minutes later we had drunk our tea but the soup had still not arrived. When I managed to catch the attention of one of the waitresses I simply said, " we are still waiting for our soup, is it coming or do we get a refund". With that she disappeared, only to return some minutes later and plonked a refund in front of us and walked away. No apology, explanation or even conversation. What a strange experience. Went further down the road to Morrisons superstore, served hot tasty soup, efficiently and with a smile, and did our big shop.Your loss Sainsbury, spent nearly 300 at Morrisons and will not be returning to your store again.Avoid this cafe like the plague, there are plenty of quality cafés not too far away, who welcome you and serve good quality hot food , efficiently.

Decided to have lunch before we commenced Our shopping trip. We waited 30 mins before I asked only to be informed that they were halfway through an order that consisted off omelette and fish fingers! Food arrived 15 mins later in dribs and drabs. Originally wanted jacket potato but they had run out. Why couldn't they go downstairs to the shop??? No mayo?? Same! They did not inform me of any delay at the till. I then had to eat my meal surrounded by dirty dishes and two contract cleaners cleaning the floor where I was seated. Not a pleasant dining experience....never again for me!

Called here on a Saturday morning just for coffee and toast the service was abysmal very very slow I waited 15 minutes from paying to getting my drink there were huge queues most peoples breakfasts were coming out while they were still waiting for their drink at the counter . when we left there was still a long queue . Needless to say I will not be revisiting this cafe I could have grown a beard while waiting. Come on Sainsburys Lincoln you need to get some organisation into your cafe.
