We’ve been here for breakfast several times. Staff are consistently attentive, friendly and helpful. Vegetarian breakfasts that we’ve always had are well cooked , tasty and hot. It’s not remotely expensive. Good value. There’s a really great range of food here and I highly recommend. My only complaint would be that they butter your toast for you and I like to butter my own. Apart from that well done to the Shirley Team.

we visited today...very poor show....we were told that there they were very short staffed and that there were no hot food facilities!!!!!.......we were told toasties were available....we chose a bacon and chicken panini ......to say the contents were sparse is being polite ....two very small slices of chicken and the same bacon...considering these are charged at just under £4...we thought they were shocking....we shall be back to M&S next time....sorry Sainsburys but food outlets are very competitive and you must do better x

After the Shirley shopping run Sainsbury's Café is a great stop off for a light lunch. I have never had any food that has not been of a good standard and tasty. Yes the service can be slow but it gets packed some days and a small number of customers are challenging in behaviour and expectations. As for me, my husband and family it has always been a tasty and good value experience.

First visit here the restaurant was a bit dingy but it was market day so some of the stalls were blocking the light through the windows. Very basic you have to serve yourself from the coffee machine. The coffee was surprisingly good.

I popped in for a breakfast on my way to work. Service and the food were both ok. Considering it was not that busy I did wait 20 minutes for my order. I would probably try again but when I have more time.

We only wanted 2 teas and waited behind 3 people, by the time I got to the till I realised 25mins had past, this isn't the first time I have had to wait. Staff need some positive morale support as they were so miserable and slack.

This is now Hilliers garden centre. The cafe was busy, We waited 40 minutes for a breakfast and an egg batch. Despite ordering a seeded egg batch and returning to check no meat ,alongside a vegetarian breakfast ,it came out with sausage and bacon. The egg batch came out next with a crushed top no seeds ( its a white roll with seeds on top) it was replaced with a complete roll which had a thick layer of yellow butter /marge , but fine we got an egg roll. Vegetarian breakfast finished. The bread was damp so ate the egg. I am aware of tte pressure of a kitchen and sometimes it all just goes wrong but the serving staff made one apology. Sorry for your wait. It was so dissappointing. The vegetarian breakfast was ok , piping hot sausage, cold mushrooms and beans but presented nicely and edible.

Much, much better than the old M&S is Solihull town centre, the foodhall is excellent BUT choose your time to visit carefully. The layout of the car parking and entrance and exits can cause bottlenecks at busy times and entitled idiots that choose to ignore the flow of traffic don't help

Really good food and extremely friendly staff. Our waiter Pedro was a star. So friendly and helpful, a welcome change to so-often surly hospitality staff. Steak was perfectly cooked, tagine flavourful. Creme brulee decadent. Wine excellent (merlot) . Food took awhile to arrive but it was worth it. Prices in line with airport / hotel sites. A nice start to our holiday the next day.

ok as we know unfriendly staff i can live with that but to be charged to sit in drinking out of a plastic or paper cup on a wooden bench freezing cold in the winter is a big insult the place is nearly empty most of the time dont the management want people in there take away only? could this be the final nail in the coffin for this joint, try upstairs in john lewis where you get good friendly service served in real cups for no extra charge.
