I went into the Banbury branch Cafe and was served by four staff. Sort of polite, however as I got to the counter I was immediately jumped on and asked if I had completed the Track and Trace form, I replied no as only just got here. I then completed form and was immediately sprayed with sanitizer as the she was trying to get to the pen I had touched. Second concern, several people were behind me and no other person was asked to complete the form. Why me and not others, I thought it was a general form that everyone has to complete. I am only 39 so is it now a age thing. Very confusing and needs to be addressed. Another issue, touching faces, leaning, face masks half of face, moaning about other team members, doing nothing and finally texting. Odd behaviour. Avoid this place as they obviously do not care about Covid.

Nice cafe set above Sainsbury’s on the first floor. Lovely food at a very good price. Food was fresh, menu varied and a great new re vamped cafe area including new seats and tables. Staff were very helpful and helped one of my children who is gluten intolerant select a suitable meal. The toasted tea cakes are just the best, but you’ve lost a star because you can’t buy them anywhere in store apart from the cafe! Haha The best supermarket cafe in Banbury

Completely a different cafe compared to two years ago. What a great improvement. The cafe staff make all the difference. Very quick service; quality breakfast and a really relaxing environment which was clean and spacious. Coffee is off great standard too at a reasonable price.

Best breakfast in Banbury - excellent food, big portions and fantastic prices. Looks like you finally have lots of staff around, who are smiley and very helpful. Was clean, food was great, new menu boards which really show off the different meal options. Well done I will be back.

The cafe has had a complete face lift, new tables, chairs and digital menus. Looks great, staff are friendly and the food was great value for money.

Have been visiting Sainbury's cafe in Banbury for a number of years, We were pleased to see the lovely new chairs ... but what a mistake to replace the round tables with coffee tables which nobody wants to eat at and are very difficult for the staff to clean .Come on Sainsbury's we don't all eat our food sitting on the sofa!!

For the last 3 weeks I have popped in between children’s activities for fish & chips. Each week different staff serving but all awful! To be told we don’t have any fish why? It’s not fresh from the sea! This week when I asked the girl why you never have fish she shrugged her shoulders. Sat down food came no ketchup though they had run out. No fish or ketchup in their supermarket!!!

I love the Sainsburys hypermarket in Banbury. A great choice of food and a lot of organic products and unusual products too. The cafe is a bonus. Very clean and a good selection of drinks and food. Recommended

I am torn between a three or four star for this review. I went with three because I am writing from my perspective and need for gluten free food. BUT my kids love a Sainsburys lunch! They have a kids bag and you get to pick 4 or 5 items for about £3. The kids hot lunches are nice too (so my kids tell me) but you do have to wait a lot longer and when you're 3yrs and 5 yrs waiting for food is difficult. Their drinks are nice (tea coffee iced fapps etc), and my parents tell me the hot food for adults is enjoyable. If you are celiac / gluten/wheat intolerant though, its a lot more difficult. The staff never no what is gluten free, and have to pull out their folder (which is a little confusing). Basically as with most places, a jacket potato is your safest bet. You can get individually wrapped GF items (biscuits, slices). It's a shame really given the supermarket downstairs has plenty of GF items. If Sainsbury's actually read this, have you considered bringing the sushi from the supermarket up to the cafe also?

Great service. Staff are always trying to do their best considering the amount of brain dead moody customers who have the cheek to expect out of this world service from an understaffed team whose manager is never present. Genuinely seen customers chuck their money at the staff and expect them to know their order just because they have been their a couple of times. Please get over yourself. Excellent place to chill in the middle of the day. Would recommend.

Both staff serving, older lady and a young boy. Both coughing, touching nose, wiping mouth. Held my cup by the top to pass it me. Had cottage pie and chips, chips not cooked okay. Improve your hygiene Sainsburys

I've been taking my wheelchair-bound mother to the Sainsbury's cafe twice a week for three years now (for lunch).............and we both agree that we haven't had one bad meal there. Ever! More than anything, though, the hard working staff are unfailingly polite and work extremely hard. We've had the occasional long wait but I've had worse in expensive restaurants. I'd really recommend it.

Staff appeared to show no interest in how long it took to serve you. Considering there is a limit on parking if you spend a good while in the shop and go to the cafe for something to eat and relax you could end up with a parking ticket. Compered to a competitors cafe not to far away "Rubbish"

Cafe is a large area on mezzanine floor above main store to left of entrance - there is a lift as well as stairs. It’s typical of any other store superstore cafe, with a canteen style ambience. Prices are good for what you get but what surprised me was that some of the cake plates and other loose items were left uncovered which is not very good for hygiene and I also don’t recall tongs for handling. Staff looked and acted uninterested in their jobs plus tables and tray return stacker not cleared whilst we were there. Some supervision required here methinks.

Large airy café above Sainsbury´s supermarket, open all day for snacks and meals, always seems busy. I stopped for coffee (very good) and a bun mid morning with a quick service and not expensive.

The bread basket in the cafe was empty, being only lunch time I asked if they any more rolls to refil the basket and no was the reply, I was some what surprised as they have an on-site bakery in the store. How much better would the visit been if they had said sorry we haven’t but we’ll go and restock.

I decided to go up to the cafe after doing the shopping. The cafe was probably a third full and there was a queue of around 8 people. The staff appeared to be totally disorganised and there was no management presence. Having stood for 10 minutes in the queue and only one person having been served I left. Needless to say, I will not be back.
