Sainsbury's Cafe Restaurant in Wakefield

Not been in a sainsbury's cafe for long time as a lot closed. So pleased to see wakefield one still there. Ordered coffee tea and chips with gravy. Just for a snack. Very quickly delivered to table. My word.....about 10 small chips for £2 + 59p for gravy jug. Called a girl over and said the portion was ridiculously small. She got manager who said it was 2 scoops! Apologised and said would bring more. Did so and twice as many as 1st portion. I know times have changed buy there is a limit you can accept for your money. One good thing, the gravy was beautiful. Mite not bother again.

Met up with friends and decided to have a bite to eat. The queue was a mile long and while we were queuing people were taking food back complaining. We just decided to order something simple and drink. Think int we couldn’t go wrong with that. I ordered cheese toastie and a latte. It cost me twice as much I’d expected and the toastie was vile. Cold in the middle. People on the other table were complaining about their food being cold and not cooked properly. Staff were just in a daze about who was doing what! No one knew what was happening with peoples orders. Some people received a full refund due to inedible food. Certainly won’t be going again.

Decided to nip in for a light bite while out shopping but unfortunately there is no gluten free sandwich options, only jacket potato or chips but can't guarantee no contamination. Luckily I'm only intolerant so Decided to just have some chips and a drink, my aunt ordered a jacket potatoe with salad. Both were disappointing, the chips were anaemic and barely cooked, the jacket potato was dry with a few green leaves on side. For a big chain you would think they could stretch to a couple of gf sandwich options.

Really disappointing, I ordered soup but no bread rolls to have with it, bearing in mind, there's a large selection of bread etc in store. The attitude of staff who served me was rude at best, whilst trying to serve me, she was having a conversation with someone else who worked there. I was literally ignored.. Loud senseless music was being played through speakers which was horrendous,.. Why music in an area where people generally converse. I will not be visiting again.

I took my 6 year old grandson for his lunch. He wanted Chicken nuggets and Chips. They don't do that, he could either have nuggets with mash or vegetables (broccoli) So I ordered him Chicken nuggets and a plate of chips . The meal cost nearly £4.50. When it came it had 3 hard chicken nuggets and half a portion of soggy chips on the plates. To add insult to injuries they had no clean folks, so he had to use a wooden one instead. Defiantly not value for money.

This feedback is for sainsburys on ings Road Wakefield. Me and my wife have used this cafe since it opened in 1988. We've spent thousands of pounds over the years on breakfasts and lunches. We called in yesterday after our shop and my wife ordered her usual americano I had a tea and a croissant with there been no breakfasts still ( Why I don't know ). The coffee had no coffee in it it was that weak so my wife told the girl behind the counter. She said she'd speak to the female manager. She came out spoke to another customer before saying if you want it stronger you'll have to pay for it in a can't be bothered voice. We was so shocked with her attitude and left the coffee and walked out. We will never use this cafe again they've lost a good few customers here for the sake of a shot of coffee. We will be shopping elsewhere has well another £400 a month lost. Such a shame bring back the old staff who was kind and genuine.

Absolutely astounding customer service from the young lad on till named Callum, highly recommended the chicken tikka masala.

I came here for lunch with family.We sat down about 1:30 then queued to ORDER for 20 minutes and got drinks.After being bored by 2 unruly kids sitting next to us we finally got (my) (all day breakfast)our food mine came first,I ate mine so it wouldn’t come cold.The meal was okay but no mushroom,no tomato thought,I didn’t complain because of the inveterate wait so I carried on eating it was Okay but drowned in loads of oily baked beans.I finished before my freinds got there’s .They all ordered chicken nuggets they were truly disappointed when only 3 measly chicken nugget and they ran out of chips so it was carrot sticks or jacket potato.Quickly we finished and went to the shop for some proper food.Souldnt recommend

Foods ok, nothing more than you'd expect from an in-store cafe. Usually we go here after or before shopping for a bite to eat or a coffee

Went the cafe today the sandwich fridge hadn't been filled up asked if there were anymore staff said everything was out. The service was slow tables weren't been cleared as customers couldn't use the tray rack as it was full. The pannini was awful very little filling in it see picture. Dirty knifes with egg on them in cutlery tray. White rose sainsburys much better standard

Thanks for a nice meal, really enjoyed lunch today, but sadly your letting yourselves down in the cleansing dept, dirty tables, trays left on tables because the tray stands are always full, no clean cutlery available. Apart from that the cheese and onion quiche with baby potatoes and salad was lovely, need to try harder.

Called in for a sandwich and coffee. Had to take the sandwich back the bread was so dry could not eat it. The replacement not much better so just left it. Very disappointed in Sainsbury's their cafe and food should be much better. Will not visit again

Had 2 breakfast and avacardo on toast all 3 meals were enjoyed and tea also nice all reasonable priced

I vist here when i visit my sister in wakefield , i really enjoy it, the fish and chips are always good , but the jacket potato is a bit on the small side . ,theres plenty of choice on the menu . it is busy and theres always lots of child but it is after all a supermarket so you cant be too choosey , the staff are always happy to help

My daughter ordered nuggets and chips the nuggets were rock hard and had to be left. They didnt have much left in the kitchens so there was limited ordering no sausages no halloumi. Seemed short staffed and the service was slow dont think I will be foing again

With out giving all the spiel why I’m here it’s a supermarket cafe... all I can say is they ran out of baguettes from their menu. Why don’t the the staff just pop into the supermarket and get more to sell. Very disappointed

Eat here 4 days in a row as visiting family. Every breakfast was excellent, the ladies in the kitchen and those taking orders could not have been nicer or more helpful....they should all have a raise!!!

Time after time they fail to transfer a collection of newspapers from the store entrance 50 yards down the store. If they want you to buy one whilst you have breakfast then why not say so. After it's been open for over an hour they ought to be on display. It's down to poor management and the manager of this store needs to get out into the store and actually check what's happening.

If you enjoy the feeling of being part of an extended family, with the joyful scamper of children running around the tables, sharing their favourite videos played loud so all can share, while their parents get some much deserved parental time off free of supervisory duties, or perhaps being informed of other people’s hopes and dreams in communal voices unconstrained of being anywhere close to intended recipient, then this may be the place for you. Never feel rushed, quite the opposite - the meals come out at a leisurely pace, and excitement builds to see if if you get what you ordered. Recommended.

Went for some lunch.my son ordered bigger breakfast. Thinking it would be what it stated bigger. Looked what I would class as a normal size not worth the money. I ordered toasted tea cake. We had to wait 40mins . Toasted tea cake came well dun . Took a bite and it tasted horrible . Ended up eating my son's toast.its a very long time since iv been and defo wont be going back

This cafe is what it is... We ordered 2 bigger breakfast and 2 orders of chips. The food took about 10 mins to arrive. The waitress was very nice. We both enjoyed our breakfast, however, the eggs and sausages were slightly overcooked. But at £6 we couldn't complain! A bonus that you can use your nectar card too. Anytime your doing a bit of shopping and feel like a cheap snack, this is your place!

Called for a snack lunchtime Saturday. I chose jacket tatie with butter and hubby the soup. Paid for extra roll with soup. Told half an hour wait! Goodness me why? Why not get extra staff on a Saturday especially as coming up to Xmas too. Food did arrive in 25 mins. No extra roll and no condiments for my tatie. Half a bowl of soup (when visiting white rose you serve yourself soup so can get a bowl full) my tatie was barely warm but I couldn't be bothered complaining and having to wait even longer. Overall things could be a lot better and faster. Oh and hotter.

The service at the counter for drinks etc was almost unbearably slow. We ordered food and the wait was unreasonably long. People were complaining. For a supermarket cafe prices are high. Shame on you Sainsbury's for charging an extra 50p for gluten free bread with the soup.

We have eaten at Sainsbury's café quite a few times and always enjoyed the food. When we went last week the quality was poor, my meal was cold and by the time I had got another meal everyone else had finished eating.

They have upped the prices and reduced the size of the big breakfast.

Fab and inexpensive breakfast at Sainsbury’s cafe. The staff are always so friendly and accommodating. Currently a summer menu with many more veggie/vegan options.

Always long queues here and again today was no exception. Had drinks and cakes. Ordered a banana milkshake and the lady behind the counter admitted she had never made one before however when it came after about 10 minutes it did taste quite nice. There really needs to be more staff on.

Fairly good value for money. Friendly staff and a good variety of items available. Regularly have a quick drink.

What a disappointment to find you can no longer purchase a bacon sandwich in a breadcake apparently they only serve this in sliced bread hence we won't be visiting again that's just not right.

Well what can I say, we now go most Sundays for the omelette breakfast, and coffee. While we wait for our food we enjoy the free news papers available. Staff are friendly and polite.

Had nice coffee and great bacon butty was a food price and tasted gorgeous. Would buy again but might try full english next time

Food is ok but very small portions and I feel it's not value for money, but would go agAin if there was no other cafe around

Llama aquí mientras compras de navidad para un café rápido y Misa del gallo. Cola para 15 minutos antes nos sirvieron! Había 3 miembros del personal que sirve pero no parecía demasiado la intención de contar chismes en vez de servir el 12 personas esperando en la cola. Llegamos a conocer acerca de sus vacaciones de Navidad, fin de los últimos planes, sus enfermedades, etc. Menos hablar y más trabajo por favor!

Visitamos hoy para un café y tarta de Misa del gallo con mi marido, lo escaso. No mesas sucias aclaradas. Sábado por media hora después de limpiar mi propia mesa con desinfectantes y nadie vino a despejar las mesas. . . . . Salud y seguridad Sainsburys. . . . . No es bueno en absoluto. No se compras o comer comida de nuevo. White Rose es perfecto, necesita algunas clases y formación de esa tienda. Espero que la gestión lo algún día si leer estas declaraciones.

Sadly there are always very long queues here, it takes ages to get served especially as normally I just want a coffee. I don't blame the staff they are doing their best but there is often just one person serving at the counter. It's not fair to the staff nor to the customers so I would say to Sainsburys put more staff on please , the occasions when I've ordered food normally toasted fruit bread it's been really good, unfortunately because of the time it takes to get served I go elsewhere .

My partner and after doing alittle shopping had breakfast plate was full nice and hot too. Staff polite and friendly. Nice to sit near window so u can watch the world go by.

Vine aquí por un poco de cambio ya que sólo queríamos un sándwich de tocino. Pedimos dos bocadillos bacon 1 refresco y un té. Gran pastel de té llegamos con 2 pequeñas piezas de calentado duro ish tocino, así que realmente no sientan que valió la pena el dinero fue todo pan en vez de tocino no creo que yo les pida o vaya de nuevo - decepcionante

Decided to have a meal after doing my shopping. The fish and chips were on offer at a lower price than usual so decided to go for them. They were excellent came with peas and tartar sauce. Would have them again. I haven't tried any of the other food yet.

We visited this cafe during the Rhubarb festival, we found a seat then proceeded to order food.To get to the front of the queue took 35 minutes!! The food then took a further 20 minutes to arrive (panini and a children's fish finger meal).The food was cold, the bread dry, the chips had lots of eyes in them.I imagine this was part down to the cafe being at capacity, but they really should staff for this, if they are unable to, then reduce the capacity!!If the queue wasn't so long i'd queue back up to complain!!Terrible experience!!

Vaste prik ieder jaar voorafgaand aan de beide showdagen op het eventcentre drinken we hier 's morgens koffie. Heerlijke chocolade en koffie tegen een aantrekkelijke prijs!

My husband & I usually call for a coffee when we are shopping in Sainsburys & have always found the service to be very good. The staff are very friendly. The drinks are always hot but w e very rarely eat here. Whenever we have eaten the food was found to be nicely presented & tasted good. All in all it is quite a decent cafe, although there is sometimes quite a wait for food to arrive.

We go here quite a lot, because we like the food and the service is great. This was no exception. Pizzas all round...

Always good when we're hungover on a Sunday!! The ladies alway laugh and help us when we're a tad delicate. The breakfast always brings us around

For a quick and tasty lunch with a regular change of menu this is our spot to relax and glance at the daily papers. Sausage and mash, Cottage Pie or Lasagna - all the traditionals here with a cheery smile.

Always popular with folks who have either just finished or are about to start their shop.Usual favourites re- egg, chips beans etc available as is a comprehensive choice of pre-packed sandwiches portions of fruit , soft drinks etc.Prices are reasonable and once drinks are dispensed and you take them to your table if you have ordered hot food that is eventually brought to you. One of my major bugbears is trying to get seated at a table that has recently been vacated by a departing shopper.The routine should be that the customer puts their empty plates, wrappings, beakers, bottles etc on a tray and deposits it in a nearby multi shelved trolley which is eventually wheeled in to the kitchen to be washed. In a lot of cases that doesn't happen and a lot of tables can be full of used crockery, with remnants of food on both the floor and the table.My other criticism of Sainsbury's is their insistence on selling Fair Trade coffee. I'm all for supporting the Third World but it's awful coffee. It is just like drinking a cup of hot milk. It's not just the Wakefield store either. I tried it at their Doncaster branch Saturday last and I had to leave it. In future I will stick to drinking the Hot chocolate which to my mind is much more palatable.

Very pleasantly surprised by everything.The staff were lovely, the tables were clean and the food was hot.Good to be served with your coffee, as at Dewsbury Sainsbury it was a self service machine!First visit there but not the last.

Like to have a bacon sandwich and latte here, staff always friendly and helpful, tables clean and like to read free newspaper whilst having breakfast.Also a good place to grab lunch with a friend....we love to have the ham egg and chips..definitely a favourite. It's reliable, value for money, and handy for the shops

Went for a breakfast and was shocked how nice it was. Well cooked and lovely staff. Tomatoes were gorgeous and ripe and eggs were done to perfection. Highly recommemded.

Nice food, excellent service. Hangout place mainly for oldies. (In a good way!) Its good to have a breakfast when you do your shopping with your wife, because you easily get tired as it take ages to do the shopping.

The cafe is a treat with lovely coffee and very tasty food. The toasted teacakes are especially delicious!

Sainsburys you might think not the place to go out for lunch , but it is fantastic freshly cooked food , and the service is great , you feel like you are in a restaurant, not a supermarket, because of the staff. It's a great cheap place to eat.

OK food, generally fair choice of fayre and quite good service. On occasion, we've enjoyed a bit of a wait, sometimes the odd clattering steel service trolley; also, at New Year, the Christmas meal deal was off the menu yet still prominently promoted, which wasted precious time. Still recommended, though, et n'oubliez pas votre Nectar carte.Merci.

The last couple of visits, the Sainsbury staff have been in the queue for food, and seemed to get priority being served over paying customers. Also went in for breakfast, ordered bacon sandwiches with a portion of mushrooms as an advertised extra. The 'portion' of mushrooms actually delivered was half a single portobello mushroom. My partner got a full portobello mushroom for the same price, as his bread roll was a bit bigger. The till was too busy to complain, obviously some common sense missing in the kitchen.

Clean environment. Well presented staff who attended to my needs. The food was of a very high standard,all in all a. good experience.

We used to regularly enjoy a coffee or lunch in the cafe before shopping but recently the service really seems to have down hill. You have to wait ages to get served at the till, even if you just want a drink and if the cafe is a bit busy you have to then also wait ages for food!! The system seems broken and needs to be looked at and revamped. We have boycotted it recently because of the long waits. A shame really as it's good value - sort it out sainsburys!

I always call into the cafe before or after shopping. Love their yogurt crunch and latte. Have tried their lasagne which is very nice. They do the best jacket potatoes ever. The staff are nice and very helpful.Have enjoyed each visit

A bit pricey for a supermarket with VERY slow service. Coffee tasted decent but queued for ages. I felt sorry for the girl on duty she was doing everything on her own from ,order taking coffee machine operating money taking food procuring etc. Could have been a better experience. You will have to try harder to make me return

Had a breakfast including a fried egg. All day I had massive heartburn which continued as stomach pains for three days. Decided to take laxatives to get rid of whatever it was that caused this, it was most uncomfortable!

The food is good, not great, nothing tasted home made. They used to serve omelettes all day but now just at breakfast time. they give you your pot of tea when ordering your food then the tea is almost cold by the time the food arrives.

We popped in for a snack before we went to see a show at wakefield theatre. We are a family of 3, we all ordered chip butties and had a cold drink each and it all cost less then 10 pounds. Served very quickly and staff are very friendly, we were served with a big bowl of chips and a bread roll each, the chips were freshly cooked and hot and the bread roll was fresh.

Called in today whilst shopping for a quick snack. Had a chip butty. Cafe was really busy but plenty of staff serving so queue was dispersed very quickly and food served promptly. Loads of chips on my butty, freshly cooked and served piping hot. Really enjoyed it. Cafe is clean and staff are extremely friendly and customer focused. This will always be my number one choice when shopping at Trinity Walk. Beats the Asda cafe hands down!!!!!

I ordered the big breakfast of the menu, I ordered it without tomatoes and they swapped it for another item that I did like. I didn't have to wait too long for the friendly waitress to bring it, the food was hot and cooked fresh.

Called in for lunch, bangers and mash and a Cappuccino, food was ready pretty quick and brought to the table by the cheerful and friendly staff. Good value for money and tasty, will go again.

We popped in for a quick bite to eat while we was shopping in the area, we didn't wait long for our food, the food was lovely and fresh and there's plenty of gravy on the bangers and mash. The staff there are lovely and can't do enough for you.

Lovely fresh food and is value for money, the service is quick and the staff are very friendly. Just need a bit more gravy on the bangers and mash.
