Sainsbury's Cafe in Rochford

Two staff and cafe not busy. Ivsyeaad of making coffees they didn’t ten minutes talking and in the end I went back to the counter sgd picked up the drinks instead of waiting for them to bring to the table Appealing service.

Nice place but don't think I will go again due to the prices of the food coffee £3.50 small piece of cake £2.95 don't no how they justify their prices better off going to mcdonald's round the corner get two meals for that no wonder place was empty

My wife and I have visited this café many times and I’ve enjoyed good food e.g. their fish and chips discount after 3 pm, or the wonderful cream tea. We have always been met with friendly service and very little delay.

Dived in here after a bit of shopping today, and won't be going back for a number of reasons. First, the selection is not great, and the cakes are small, certainly not representing value for money. In addition my wife and I waited for around 15 minutes for our coffees which was a ridiculous amount of time. In addition, this being remembrance Sunday , Sainsburys paused for 2 minutes silence , announcing they would be doing so. With the service from the cenotaph playing on a TV screen in the cafe I anticipated the same, however the piped pop music continued in the cafe which I thought was a disgrace. The staff claimed they were unable to control the music which I find strange as I imagine they switch it off at the end of the day. The staff to be fair are very friendly but the overall experience in here I found awful , certainly in comparison to what it replaced , the good old sainsburys cafe. I won't be returning.

The coffees and pastry’s were lovely in the cafe but trying to pay for shopping was hell! The self checkout used to be for customers with a basket but today it was rammed with families with big trolly loads due to the lack of check out staff. It caused congestion and chaos - not acceptable! There is only one place for a trolley full of goods and that is at a proper checkout where there is space.

The experience at this cafe was awful. We ordered a warm pastry and a breakfast plus two coffees. The coffees took 20 minutes and the pastry was cold. Apparently it had been warmed but had been standing. My breakfast came out 35 minutes last and the toast was burnt and all the food was cold so I sent it back. Another 25 minutes later out came breakfast no 2 and again it was all cold and they had seasoned the eggs with pepper. I personally don’t like pepper on eggs. I asked them why they do this and apparently they are trained that way. I asked for a refund as we had been there a long time and left having no breakfast. There were other people having issues as well. We will not be going back.

Popped in for lunch wow how bad can u get staff all new didnt have a clue not much choice sandwiches hard drinks not cold breakfast greasy stone cold didn't have time to wait another 20 mins as had a 2yr old with us meal deal labels all.wrong saying things in meal deal for kids when they weren't and not sainsbury's cafe nothing to do with them now harry Ramsden awful utter rubbish

Not the cafe, the store…walked in for some supplies for a journey…plus to get a tank of fuel. NO tills open apparently due to short staff so only the self scan available as customer service shuts at 2100…I am not using self scan/I am not a member of your staff and I respect your colleagues jobs too much to be party to your profit obsessed drive to get rid of as many as possible. Purchases left at unmanned checkout and I got my fuel elsewhere….I may be a dinosaur, I may not be able to affect your clear contempt for the public…but you can be avoided.

Cafe was empty at 2.00pm which I thought was strange. Ordered a hot chocolate. £2.60 for some powdery instant powder and boiled water. What a waste of time and money. Will not be returning anytime soon. Could have got a better drink from the garage Costa machine...

The food, breakfast sandwiches and pastries, are good. However, the service can be patchy! Not unusual to be told it's a half hour wait for food.

we stopped here for a coffee, last week, sometimes we have lunch it is quite reasonable, a bit slow at the counter Food Average.

No trays. Asked for sausage sandwich. Told cannot do them anymore. Another lady said they can put it through as a sausage & slice of bread x2 which is what came up. Make your own sandwiches. Ridiculous! Not enough staff & floor filthy dirty. The manager needs to get a grip.

Went here for dinner before shopping. The reason I have rated this experience terrible is because the sweet potato curry was just that! Breadcrumbed sweet potato on the side of a tasteless just curry sauce with equally tasteless rice. Not warmed throughout & a dish of tasteless green beans in a dish on the side. Not value for money. I must remember not to eat here again!

Always good and good value but sometimes service is a little slow. Breakfast choice is good especially the sandwiches.

We eat here every week because it’s convenient always feel sorry for staff as there is not enough staff on at lunch times food is average staff are lovely

I have had omelette and chips before which were yummy but thus time was just afternoon tea with my parents that are quite fussy but always enjoy their egg on toast every week before shopping.

Ordered the Big Breakfast and after a short wait the food arrived. Good portion size and piping hot. The cafe is very clean and the staff were very pleasant and helpful; I will definitely be returning.

Good service, cheerful staff. Cheerful food. Portions a little smaller than expected but good value for money.

We popped into the cafe as we were shopping at lunchtime for a quick bite. As usual there was a slow moving queue. We fancied a jacket potato but were informed when we eventually got to order that they had sold out!! The time was 12.45 so not even past lunchtime!! This is a supermarket selling food for goodness sake. Mac and Cheese does not come with any accompaniments and Lamb Lasagna was barely warm. This cafe really needs to get it's act together. There were lots of moans from the customers.

Despite being slightly busy... Took 30 minutes to get a breakfast... This was for everyone... Staff didn't seem too bothered and apparently we and other tables should have been told. Sainsbury say they use free-range woodland eggs... Maybe but WHAT on earth did they do with my omelet and my wife's scrambled egg... Certainly didn't look like pure egg.... So dissapointing... I suspect that is is the way it is.... Baked beans good and ham in omelet.. But that's it!

Good value and good food good location and handy for my business. Hot food with prompt service. Enjoyed the experience.

choose food at the counter and pay, find a seat and they bring your food to you, very hot and tasty and largish size portion, we struggled to get through it but it was yummy so could not leave any.

Hemos comido en dos ocasiones y cada vez ha sido decepcionante. Es cierto lo que dice un crítico orevious. Se venden buena comida en el supermercado pero platos de comida horrible en su restaurante. Es fría y mala relación calidad-precio. Tuve patata chaqueta con gambas.

The café in Sainsbury's is always busy which shows that it offers good food at reasonable prices.

Avoid. After 30 minutes I gave up waiting for my bacon sandwich. Are all sainsburys staff taught to be slow? Took my nunber back and said I have to go and absolutely no reaction from the staff. This happened to me before in Sainsburys in Street when meeting a friend. Seems they are all useless.
