Sainsbury's Café in Tonbridge and Malling

My mum and dad used to take my oldest son here so it'll always have a special place in my heart ♥️ Fills whatever hole you may have and isn't overly expensive. Has a nice choice of food and drinks and the staff are friendly enough, never a wait as there are plenty of seats, clean and well maintained. 'Does what it says on the tin'

Had an all day breakfast Bacon looked like it had been boiled and so fatty, baked beans were gloopy, toast was barely toasted and in fact I thought it was bread & butter.. wasn’t expensive but thought the quality was shocking.. service was painfully slow and the staff looked like they couldn’t be bothered..

I went to the cafe at almost closing time as the last customer yesterday 25th April 2022. I apologised for being so late but still Toby, Karen, Helen, and Dan welcomed me. They preparing a lovely all day breakfast double quick with an extra egg just as I requested it. They are always friendly here that's why I always return for more because even during busier times the food and friendly service are worth waiting. I'm editing this review because I used to go in daily for their all day breakfast. However the last time I went they didn't have hot food so served myself a piece of carrot cake. Unfortunately the young kid serving demanded I pay cash which I felt most unusual. I had no cash and instead of him waiting for me to get cash from the machine or till, he took the carrot cake and becasue I had handled it smirked as he put it in the bin. I never use the cafe anymore taking my money instead to Weatherspoons who are marvelous with their free coffee all day after your first cup at £1.50

Our food arrived cold even though it arrived quick, So I'm assuming they pre-cook everything and serve it up as and when the customer makes an order. the baked beans werent cooked properly. I cant eat pork or dairy as I have an alergy, and asked if I could substitute the bacon and sausage for a burger and I'd pay the difference, they said they couldnt. Truth is, it would have been effort, They sell burgers later in the day, but taking the extra 15 mins to cook a burger is too much to ask I guess, I ended up with vegen sausages that were awfull, they also pre butter the toast. by which point I gave up and just ate it (Even though I'm alergic to dairy). I asked for an Americana Coffee, and got a regular coffee. I usually wouldnt bother writting a negative review, but this was a nice little café, It's not now. A few lads work there now that probably dont want to be there on a sunday morning. Also lastly for some reason, they've replaced the tables in the middle with small coffee tables that nobody uses. You can even see this in the picture above... why do that? The table we were using was wobbly and annoying. So zero effort, cold food, and just a poor cafe now. I'd go elsewhere.

The worst chicken burger I have ever had it was just 2 nuggets in a bun took about an hour chips was terrible too complete rubbish

Visited on a Saturday morning while waiting for an MOT. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The food and drinks were good and arrived promptly. Altogether a positive experience. I have no hesitation in recommending this place and I will be returning. Thank you!

Not good just ordered ham eggs and chips eggs rock hard /extra toast butter came separate rock hard not nice at all

Took 45 minutes to serve 6 people in front of me in queue due to one poor person having to take order, take money, make the hot drinks, heat paninis/tea cakes etc and serve cakes. Why oh why were there not more staff on duty at lunchtime. Although I didn't have a hot meal myself some waited almost 30 minutes for theirs to come from the kitchen. The food may be fine the individual staff may be doing their best but management need to look at the service level they are offering which at present is abysmal. There is one star on this review because the system won't allow no star!

Use to be really nice in here and the price was a fair price for what you got now they have kept the same price but gone really cheap on food you can taste the poor quality of food it is very disgusting in my opinion

Not very busy when we visited. Had to wait 30 minutes for a chicken roll and one omelette. Lots of staff around but very slow service. Food was good.
