Hotel very tired and dated with a musty unused smell. Waited at reception for 10 minutes till someone came. Even though it was 4 minutes past booking time had to convince receptionist to show me to meeting room and nit to have to wait for rest if people to arrive. Despite booking being for refreshments on arrival and 11 and 2 had to push for arrival. Which when it got thefe coffee was cold . Never git and 11 drink. After pushing for 2 refreshments when it arrived dirt fliated out of apouy first so opted not to drink it. If i had been paying i would have demanded money back. Told training company and they will not use again

Please do not book this hotel I stupidly didn't read reviews before I booked. It's so run down, smell of damp and gas, and dirty. I am surprised it hasn't been shut down before it falls down.

Couldn't adjust shower, was scolding hot. A step down from the bathroom to the bed area is nearly impossible to see as the carpet is dark and patterned and the lighting is very poor. The hairdryer was a joke from the 1950's with a pat test sticker on from 1993 to be retested in 1994 I can't believe it will ever be done again. I know it's an old building but at £109 with no breakfast it definitely is not worth it.

Appalling. The worst hotel (no longer a Best Western) that I have ever stayed in. I tried to make a formal complaint by telephone and in writing on numerous occasions but was not afforded the basic courtesy of a reply. I had no option, finally, but to report to Trading Standards.

I have stayed in Rose and Crown several times and am very satisfied. So nice staff. The last time I checked out, I asked the hotel manager to keep an eye on my suitcase - then he drags the whole bag down the stairs while I sit and wait. Sure, it's a little worn, but it's clean and English and I'd love to stay there again.

The Rose and Crown is an old school hotel in a fantastic location right in the middle of the main street in Tonbridge. Everything is literally at your doorstep, with the advantage of ample car parking accessed from Church Road to the rear. The young man on reception was very welcoming, professional, and helpful when we checked in and on our departure. We stayed in one of the superior rooms which was clean and had an ample supply freshly laundered towels. The hotel has stood where it is fir many years and like all old buildings will benefit from some refurbishments. The hotel changed hands in the recent past so the changes the new owners are making will take a little time. I look forward to future visits and seeing how the hotel is modernised, without I hope, losing any of its old fashioned charm. Then we can upgrade the review to five stars for the rooms as well as the service and location.

Hotel is located in a good location on the High Street in easy reach of Tonbridge station which is just 10 minutes walk away. Ideal if you are planning to go into London by train. The room we stayed in was in an outer building, accross and overlooking the hotel's private carpark, so nice and quiet as not directly above the noisy main road - which is quite busy during the daytime. Staff was pleasant, always smiling and helpful. Easy checking in and out, and luggage deposit available after check out. The hotel is an historical building: main building is old but charming, rooms however need a bit of updating. I would recommend modernising the basin taps and improving the lighting in the bathroom. The bedroom decór was a bit worn out, but all in all it had all the essentials for a quick stay. Towels and bedding were clean, wifi worked very well, nice black-out curtains, pleanty of space and hangers in the wardrobe. Room felt a bit cold, even when turning the heater on maximum, but the duvet kept us warm. Breakfast was included in our booking. There was a buffet available until 9 am (10 am on weekends) with teas, coffee, juices and an assortment of cereals, bread for toasting, jam, butter, fruit, croissants and muffins. One could also order a hot english breakfast from the menu, eggs were nice, but there is definitely room for improvement and finesse when cooking the mushroom and tomato. I would also suggest changing the thermal flasks to ensure the water for tea stays nice and hot. My total vote is good (3/5 stars).

Very average hotel, good value and free parking. But the rooms are in need of upgrades.

The hotel makes a great impression from the outside, unfortunately the rooms were fully booked today. It's in the middle of the city. Unfortunately I can't comment on the rooms. But definitely a very nice audience

I recently stayed at the Rose and Crown Hotel, a 17th century hotel that was spotless, amazing value for money and I cannot say enough about the outstanding hospitality we received, particularly from Idris. From the moment we arrived, Idris made us feel incredibly welcome. He greeted us with a warm smile and ensured our check-in process was smooth and efficient. Throughout our stay, Idris consistently went above and beyond to make sure we were comfortable. He provided excellent recommendations for local bars, restaurants, and attractions, ensuring we made the most of our visit. His attention to detail and genuine care for guests truly set him apart. Idris's exceptional service and friendly demeanor made our experience at the Rose and Crown truly special. We are grateful for his kindness and professionalism and will definitely return to this hotel, knowing that such dedicated staff members are there to make our stay enjoyable.

We've stayed here before but sadly the hotel is now becoming very run down. Uncomfortable bed, very creaky floorboards, poorly maintained corridors, paint peeling on the ceiling. It felt grotty and unwelcoming. It's a beautiful and very old building, but is badly in need of renovation now. Premier Inn for us next time.

Thank-you Kasinia for always going the extra mile every time I stay. The Rose & Crown is definitely beginning to feel like home away from home. Your warm welcome is sincere and makes me feel so relaxed and comfortable.

Great location. Awesome staff and breakfast is top notch. Some have had a whinge about the rooms but my room was perfectly fine. It’s an older characterful hotel with heaps of history and personality and in my opinion much better than a soul less Premier Inn or equivalent. Best of all. The wireless was flawless so I was able to get heaps of work done during my stay. Fugles brewery is just a few doors down. And there’s heaps of coffee shops and eateries a quick walk away. Good choice. Recommended!

My mum and dad used to take my oldest son here so it'll always have a special place in my heart ♥️ Fills whatever hole you may have and isn't overly expensive. Has a nice choice of food and drinks and the staff are friendly enough, never a wait as there are plenty of seats, clean and well maintained. 'Does what it says on the tin'

My friend was rejected from entering by the bouncer. Had 1 pint and was driving us home. Claimed he was way intoxicated and couldn’t get in even though he was sober. After that we saw them let in loads of intoxicated girls who were stumbling across the street. Seems like a bit of noncery and the staff need to be checked.

We chose Pad Thai for our monthly restaurant outing with our friend/neighbour, and it was absolutely delicious! We had the shared starter, I had the duck breast, my partner had a chicken curry and our friend had sweet and sour chicken with shared egg fried rice. Honestly, it was fantastic! The owner shared that she has been open since 1997, and we can see why! We also had desserts, you have to try their speciality dishes, including the steamed banana cake. We will 100% be back, best meal we’ve had in a long time and the owner is so friendly! (Sorry it was so delicious that I ate it all without taking any pictures)
