Called in for a breakfast with family after a week in Cornwall on the Lizard. No cooked food, no breakfast just plastic wrapped Paninis heated up by polite and attentive staff. C,Mon Sainburys you can do better than this.

We visited the restaurant Sainsbury’s in Helston whilst shopping and selected two meals; a large breakfast and baked potato with Tuna & sweetcorn. Including a pot of tea and a pot of fruit tea the whole bill was only £12.45- excellent value for money and the portions were large so no chance of going hungry 😋. This is the second time we have visited in the last month and we will definitely visit again- it’s great when you are out and about and want food without paying the earth.

We are not Sainsbury shoppers, its not convenient at home. But we enjoyed this store as a change, finding things not seen commonly though in some departments, the range was limited. My wife liked to clothing where she found some bargains and we even bought replacement phones, not a usual holiday shopping item. Recommended are the made to order pizzas. Loads of parking, easy to find. There is also a café but we never tried it

Whilst visiting the supermarket, hunger pangs struck and so we visited the in house cafe. After ordering our food and collecting our beverages, we went to a table and waited for our food. After a short wait the food was delivered. I had ordered a big breakfast and the plate was loaded with two hash browns, two fried eggs, two sausages, two rashers of bacon, two slices of french toast, baked beans, a sliced tomato, a large flat mushroom - all for £6 - great value for money. The other food order was a large baked potato and filling and this was equally good value. Accepting that this is a supermarket cafe, the staff were friendly and courteous and the food and drink was wholesome and good value and definitely worth considering when you are in a hurry and need a good meal. My only comment was that I’d requested fish and chips however due to its popularity they has run out - my substitute meal was as it turned out a great choice.

We visited for lunch and wished we hadn’t bothered. There were hardly any sandwiches in the chiller cabinet or anything else. The man serving was off hand and rude and said go and get a sandwich from the shop kiosk. The quiche and salad meal was unavailable with potatoes as advertised so chips were offered begrudgingly. These did not arrive with the meal. I asked for fresh milk with the tea and was told to get it myself from the jug (which was empty). The whole experience was upsetting and unnecessary. This member of staff obviously doesn’t care about the customer or offering a good service. This isn’t the first time I have experienced poor service in the Helston cafe and the don’t care culture. I shan’t visit again under any circumstances. Try Sainsbury’s cafe in Truro - so much better.

Often call into the Saisbury Cafe in Helston for a drink or snack. Generally staff are very friendly and helpful, always an exception wherever you go. Food is normally very good and arrives quite quickly. They serve good Coffee and other drinks as well. Only downside with this cafe is how long you have to wait to place your order, today two people in front of me walked out because of the time waiting. Main problem being, only one member of staff at the counter who has to take the orders, money and change, then has to make the drinks as well. This leads to a build up in the queue. Also today, board up on the wall advertising Easter roasts, ordered two roast meals and paid. Then a staff member came out of the kitchen and told the lady on the till we are not doing the roasts today. Given a refund then ordered lasagne, paid for this and again lady from the kitchen, sorry we have run out. Ended up with jacket potato, luckily they had these. Reorganisation required, at least another staff member out front so one can take money and orders with the other making drinks. Also better system to be put in place so the person taking orders k owe when something is not being cooked or has run out. This will negate the need to do refunds, which also speeds things up.

We used to visit here a lot and ended up avoiding the place as the wait for food (breakfast early) was always ages but this last 6 months the service has improved vastly. Food is delivered quickly, with a friendly smile and I am made to feel welcome. Well cooked and fairly priced I recommend this cafe. They also do lovely cheese scones.

Nearly always have a bit of a wait to get served, don't know why but there always seems to be just one person at the counter who takes your order. Takes payment and then makes whatever drink you order. This tends to cause a queue of people waiting to be served. I don't know why this store can't have one person taking orders and another making the drinks. This would speed things up for customers.

We decided to pop in here for a cheap and cheerful breakfast for two, simply because we couldn’t be bothered to cook. It was fairly priced for the satisfactory food, the hot breakfast did taste nice and it took away the bother of me having to cook. Unfortunately most of the tables were dirty and we had to use napkins to clean ourselves, we were warned there would be a 15 minute wait for food but it come out 25 minutes late. Some others had complained and were were offered a free hot drink but we weren’t offered a refill on our coffees, we also ordered two pastry’s to eat whilst we waited and one of them was stale, they didn’t ask “is everything ok” when they come to give us our breakfast and just left our empty cups and half empty (stale pastry) smaller plates on the table. Lastly my husband ordered extra mushrooms and hash brown and his breakfast had no hash brown what so ever, checked the receipt and we did pay for it. Staff were friendly and probably just short staffed on this particular day but I wouldn’t come back.

After another 15 minutes my husband told staff to cancel the order and asked for a refund which we were given. We were offered free drinks whilst we waited but this is not good enough. Very poor and we will not return.

We shopped there every day for the week and decided to have lunch there on the 12th . There was one person in front of us at the checkout when they had a problem trying to accept payment , there were four assistant fiddling with the till and we stood there for 20 mins before we walked out , none of the four girls offered an explanation or apology . Also when we went to the cheese counter another day we could not find any Stilton and asked the assistant who pointed to a piece of Danish Blue and said "That's Stilton " WHATT ?

I have used Sainsburys restaurant a few times mainly due to timings and nothing else available in the immediate vicinity. The problem is that on most occasions the tables are not getting cleaned, you have to clean them yourself. When the rubbish is cleaned away by a member of staff they seldom use any cleaner on the tables or even wipe the tables, so you sit at a table with mess from the previous customers. There should be one member of staff continually cleaning tables etc, whilst another delivers food. Because they tend to do everything, no one seems to have responsibility for any particular job so things get missed. Secret shoppers need to sit in the restaurant and watch what is actually happening.
