Sainsburys in South Oxfordshire

Came out of my way with my family to the oxford sainsbury’s cafe to get a good meal we saw on the sainsbury’s cafe menu online to turn up and see completely different! hardly selling anything just “soup” and microwaved bread basically. let alone not much food for children or vegetarians. don’t come here.

The environment was clean tidy and quiet. The staff were helpful, specially in regards to those with us with a disability

Use cafe often after shopping, sometimes lunch sometimes coffee and cake very handy and reasonably priced

Had the misfortune to stop for a pit stop en route from Derbyshire to Hampshire, normally a supermarket cafe is a safe alternative to services, unfortunately Sainsburys need to do much better. Tables littered with discarded crockery, customers are supposed to clear their own tables, great idea in practice, unfortunately the facilities to stack tray in nearby trolleys aren't in place. Staff clearing tables are wiping debris onto the floor so food is getting trodden on the floor making the surface slippery. A wait of 30 minutes for uninspiring food - one beef baguette and a Moroccan couscous salad. No warning that there would be a lengthy delay when we ordered as we would have simply grabbed a sandwich from the store. It would appear that the kitchen was preparing food on a table by table basis, unable to juggle numerous orders at the same time. The salad was served in a very small bowl that was almost impossible to eat out of. A great example of mismanagement, there is obviously no direction or leadership here.

Nearby Hotel facilities not in full working order so Sainsbury's it was and we had super scrambled egg and omlettes with ham and mushroom filling. Very good food and value for money. Staff constantly cleaning the tables and staff actually wanted to be there and smiled. The staff delivery the hot food to your table which is very good. Flat white Coffee and Capuchino! Very impressed considering!!

If you want a cheap breakfast with beans, hash browns and tomato that looks and tastes like it’s been laying on a dirty plate for a week then this is your place.

Sainsburys cafe used to be a great place to have breakfast or even lunch but now its gone down hill. All the staff have changed and the food is terrible. You wait ages for a coffee and if you order food you wait ages and it still comes out cold and tasteless. i would like to know whats happened as it was a handy place to take the kids after shopping. Its a shame really as the the staff that used to be there were friendly and did their best to serve people ....

We popped in for breakfast, enjoyed it so much popped back in for a cake on the way back past. I am a small eater so the bitesize breakfast was perfect, coffee was amazing. Very friendly staff. Quick service. Popped back in for coffee and cake later on, staff again were great. No complaints. We travel a fair bit, Sainsbury's is now our go to for breakfast.

The prices have recently increased together with the changed menu. What used to be excellent value for breakfast has become more expensive and the portions are smaller, making you feel a double whammy in the gut. Service is generally good and the staff are friendly, but knowing that you get less for your money will mean that I won't be rushing back there for breakfast.

Breakfast here is excellent. Do a great Vegetarian alternative. Childrens portions are availiable. You can even just have a cuppa or cold drink

My wife and I had a truly superb Christmas dinner. The turkey was sublime, the frozen sprouts were exactly the right shade of green, the pigs in blankets did not have any bacon (but I would have removed that anyway), the roasties were uniform and slightly undercooked (as they should be). I could go on... Service was amazing - we arrived without a booking and were seated within minutes. Most of the cutlery was fairly clean. How they manage to do all of this for £5.50 per head, I do not know - it’s unbelievable value for money. We were both totally chuffed and had to tell everyone about it!

Ok for what It is price ok good for something quick but very dried food but you pay for what you get

Had some lovely meals here but also had some very poor meals here too, staff are nice and helpful, bit hit and miss.

Best and cheapest vegi breakfast to be found for 5 miles, served until 11am and you can go there in just about any state of hungover.

Nice food as ever - went near the end of the day so a few items on menu not available but still plenty to choose from. Nice staff - esp block who brought out food. Many thanks.

Mucho mejor de lo previsto. Especialmente porque es un supermercado. Parado por un rápido de chile y nos fuimos con una gran sonrisa.

Asegúrate de que no tengas un problema el personal era lo suficientemente agradable, pero el encargado de la tienda tiene un problema con su tienda de no estar tranquilo. Él es descortés con su personal, lo cual es embarazoso para mí y para la chica que estaba tratando de ayudarme!

Visited the store in Bicester today. stopped for lunch at the cafe upstairs.The cafe seemed busy but was served very quickly and efficiently. No sooner had I sat down, my meal arrived, baked potato with filling and salad at a great price with a great large latte.The staff were very friendly and seemed to be keeping the tables clear. Would definitely recommend and re visit.

Popped in for a coffee and a cake. The cake was fresh and tasty and the coffee, made by a very polite and welcoming Tom, was the best I've had for quite some time, better than Costa!

I went to the Didcot branch not Heyford Hill but I couldn't find that branch on here. The reason for the visit was to pick up a sandwich for my wife and I as we had been away and knew nothing was in the fridge at home.It seems that Sainsburys are doing what they always do. They are a really good offer then 'trim' it. It used to be that ANY sandwich, snack and certain drinks were £3. Now that the trimming has been done the only sandwiches I could see in the offer were the kind you find in hospital snack bags. The really basic ones. The better sandwiches had been 'trimmed' from the offer. I was at the till with over £40 of shopping when I was told. Not a mistake I will make again.

went for breakfast before doing the monthly shop. Staff were the issue the woman taking the order kept taking orders rather than make any ones coffee. Then the server who brought out the food wondered aimlessly around the store where there was a party plates came out one at a time not good for hungry kids Really only worth it for a last resort.

You stand in line, at the counter, order your food, pay, collect your drinks, then your food is delivered to your table a short while after.Food is basic, but freshly cooked to order so ok for a quick meal. If you need food input, and not a nice lingering meal, then great.Be prepared for divorce proceedings if you take your wife there for her birthday lol.We have been several times with our grandson, ideal, easy clean tables, easy clean floors lol.The cafeteria in on the first floor, with lift, with good open panoramic views of the car park. Plenty of natural light.Good clean toilets on the same floor too.We will go again, we know what to expect, it's OK.

The cafe is fab. Access via the lift in the lobby and plenty of spacious seating. There is a simple menu with plenty of options for the kids including cold picnic options as well as hot plates and various drinks. There is a selection of cakes and pastries and good coffee. Service is usually pretty swift too. If I have to take the kids to shop, their treat is the cafe!

Good for meeting people. Good for shopping. Convenient location. Friendly staff. Bacon butties look nice but as a veggi wouldn't order the. Bus stop right out side to go to either Oxford or Banbury.

I like to go to this coffe before my weekly shopping.is a nice cafe with essetial hot plate and good choice of cake.nice place to get time and organise your shopping list before get to the first floor

Popped into the cafe for lunch today, wish all staff were as lovely and polite as the ones we found today, smiles from the girl on the till and the waiting staff always checking you were ok. Food is very reasonable and a good range to suit all. The fish and chips at £4.50 is a bargain and a huge piece of fish.

I love this place for breakfast, good food and really cheap. Quite small portions but you can add as many extras as you like. Really friendly staff and I'll definitely be going again. The cakes/patisseries look great too!

I could have spent £20 on a meal for two but instead got a whole roast chicken for under £8.And brought drinks which still worked out better than buying hotel food

Sainsbury does a lot of food .. from around the world .. which takes care of a day's needs with super ease! Lot of variety, fresh options, tastes etc.. worth a visit while in London.

we wanted to have a reasonable dinner so i bought pizzas and roast chicken from here.it was really great .i over ate .their deals are really good.

A lot like a Zehrs superstore in Ontario or a Meijers in Michigan. You name it, Sainsburys sells it!!! Plenty of mall like parking, selling groceries, beers, clothing, mobile phones, meats. There is a photo shop and a cleaners here as well. It is clean throughout and service is good. A better selection than Tesco but perhaps a little bit more expensive.

Spur of the moment decision to eat here and what a good decision it was. Good coffee and a great meal. Very competitive prices. Cant fault it

All Sainsbury's are excellent for a coffee and cake after shopping..The breakfast is pretty good as well.

We visited this Restaurant on Friday Lunch time. The Fish and Chops were freshly cooked and very enjoyable at £4.50 each we thought it was excellent value and the pots of tea to accompany them was first class all I all a good experiance

Wow! Delicious ready-made sandwiches, pastries, inexpensive bottles of wine and almost everything you need was right there in ONE store. A wonderful place to shop, especially for tourists. Wish we had them in the United States!! Had fun just shopping there.

This is for the Sainsbury cafe off the Eastern by pass oxford.Took my elderly friend to shop and then coffee.Good lift access and adequate basic cafe food .Clean .Could add more ambience and atmosphere with more alcoves and spaces for customers ..maybe couches.A little bland but nonetheless nice to have for a stop.

Change of management hasnt altered the quality of this cafe, good parking good food, maybe time for a regular review of the menu as it gets a bit boring, however the quality is thereAlways clean and usually tidyStaff wonderfulThey recognise you and chat its nice. Keep it up

Good fish and chips and omlet for reasonable price is only in Sainsburys and nowhere else. Everything just perfect

Great place, easy to shop. Friendly staff. Very good value for quality products. Busy shop, but always find something new to try. I would recommend it to grab some yummy stuff!

We shop there every week as this is so close to home. Food is always fantastic and portions are just right. I will definitely recommend it if you want to have break or quick bite to eat, the choice of dishes is very good so anybody can find something.

Me and the boys go most Sunday mornings,the big breakfast is just under £4 and you can any items you fancy for a smalladdition, sometimes you have to wait a while if there busy but trust me its worth it.If you like Little Chefs Olympic breakfast this is just as good for half the cost.

Well done Sainsburys, now that the cafe has been remodelled as has the store, its light airy and under good Management. Fast and efficient service and clean and hygenic with good toilets and liftCaravan parking is easy as is the petrol station, but fill up after shopping or eating, you may get a voucher from the tillsAll in all a pleasant place to stany and eat, Sunday Breakfasts recommended

Good store, clean & well organised, Petrol station on site, Cafe is clean and good food. Take advantage of the offers given on the till. Tip, use the store prior to filling up, you may just get a voucher for petrol!

We have often ignored the super markets as far as "Eating out" is concerned,at this point I should say that this only applies to a breakfast and have not tried lunch or diner at these venues.We live in Cornwall, a place full of restraunts,Hotels and various eateries,on occasions we are out and away early on our travels and so do not breakfast at home prior to our travel. Our first Sainsury breakfast was at the branch in Truro {Cornwall} where we had a splendid scrambled egg meal which included Tomato,Bacon ,four slices of 'nutty' toast,Butter and a large mushroom,all for under four pounds!!. add to this the staff were all smiles and very helpful..............Next was at their branch just outside Helston {Cornwall},spotless,friendly and with a panoramic view of the Helston Areo park.Now, in the past when touring we loved the 'Little Chef' and were sad when these declined,we thought well of them for what they were but in comparison service wise,value wise and quality they do not bare comparison.So when passing this one at 9.15 am, we had no compunction in pulling in,the same applied,good service,free news paper and good Breakfast food......well done Sainsbury,many should look and learn from you.
