Had a week in a caravan on the St. Osyth Beach site & on several occasions i saw one of the male workers at the back of the shop 1st time, snotting ( blowing his nose on to the floor, both nostrils, without a tissue ), wiping his hands all over his t-shirt & then going back inside to cook.! I actually once saw him do it outside the front of the shop, whilst people were sat there eating & then pulling his t-shirt up to wipe his nose & again then going back into the shop to cook. Absolutely disgusting behaviour & i will NEVER eat there agin, makes me feel sick thinking about it. So sad, because i've loved their fish & chips over the years, but with some-one like that working there, there's no way i am eating from there any more & i have told my friends & they are disgusted too & will no longer go there.!

Best chips iv had in a long time. First time having a battered mars bar and it didn’t disappoint. Would definitely recommend and will be going back next time in clacton.

Been using this fish and chip 20 plus years now have seen a changes of management but the quality of this establishment as never dropped fantastic fish and chips ,wraps ,pies , Etc. can't think of anything better sitting outside with a cool beer waiting for your number to be called love the place. Only thing I miss they used to sell faggots .

Don't really know what to say other than a greasy spoon type cafe, been there a few times and just seems stuck in an era. Bit sort of beige

Oh dear, step back to the 1960's. Loads and loads of prices painted on the walls, very very confusing, not really that cheap

Ordered cod and chips. chips were ok The fish was a big rectangle shape of batter,so thick it was a joke, once i managed to get past that the fish was all sloppy mush. glad i only eat half as it gave me food poisoning. Been many times in the past with no problem Need to get someone who knows how to cook fish. BEWARE I will not be back.

Busy, nice chips but sadly the area outside the shop was covered with litter, the tables and bins were full and the place looked a mess. Employ some extra staff to keep the area clean or empty your bins. I saw people throwing rubbish on the beach because the bins were full. Come on Seawick get your act together, set an example, collect a bag of litter, get a portion of chips half price.

Lovely food which was cooked perfectly. Friendly staff. Will definitely be choosing this takeaway again.

A group of us stopped here after a walk to the nature reserve. Unfortunately no iced coffee and wanted cash payment for drinks as it was less than £5. I therefore had to order another drink.Short walk to the sea wall and beach.

Absolutely the best fish and chips we have ever eaten. It was freshly battered and cooked while we waited, but boy was it worth the wait. Large portions so beware - you won’t want to leave any! Maybe order and go for a quick half next door in the pub.

Came during lunch rush, but can not fault the team or store! They go above and beyond to help and work efficiently to get everyone served as quick as possible! Amazing food, all fresh and hot! 10/10! Will definitely be coming back for more!

It was my daughters birthday and we stayed at a local caravan site for the week. Her main birthday wish was a fresh cod and chips for her birthday dinner. So we literally faced the sea storms and walked to the fish and chip shop in the torrential rain. We spent £50+ on dinner for the family, to walk all the way back to the caravan in the storm to sit down all excited and see they didn’t give us our fish! Completely ruined her birthday dinner. The staff in there are very short and snappy, they act like they are overworked and like you are putting them out by ordering food! Even when it’s out of season, not busy and only 3 people in the shop they are frantic and unorganised.

When there today Friday at 5.50pm. Fresh fish cooked to order took about 10 minutes Fast friendly staff. Just need to put there opening hours on internet

We had fish and chips on our first nights stay. You had to queue, order your food then wait outside until your number was called to collect your order. It was fairly busy but didn’t have to wait to long. The fish was lovely as were the chips, we also had a burger. Would definitely revisit.

I was really tired yesterday’s ne left half my order here and my bank card and I came by the next day and they gave my bank card back and gave me some food! And the food was amazing 😁

The woman serving was loud and obnoxious. The food was absolutely disgusting. Customers were just allowed to wonder in and not wear a mask.

But lockdown has been relaxed. No toilets! Is it even legal to serve so many people so many drinks and not provide the basics of somewhere to go to the toilet? If you can't open your toilet then clise your pub, the cafe the same,...

The Sailor boy refused me entry because I’m medically exempt from wearing a mask. Disgusting treatment and embarrassing. Fish was very small also.

Popped in for a takeaway as was on a caravan site nearly, best chips I've ever had. Not the best curry sauce or batter but wasn't horrible, just personal taste.

Beautiful fresh food well worth attending , the food is not oily , they cook the food there and then , the staff are lovey to , plenty things to choose from and the kids menu is amazing value

It's a most if you visit no matter what time of year. Food is amazing and staff whenever we go to clacton we go to Sailor Boy. The pub is great too.

A nice chip shop which offers a massive range of food to choose from, unfortunately the ground around it is just littered with rubbish, it’s sad people drag places down by not simply putting rubbish into the bin.

I went here on a busy summer's afternoon. It was nearly 4pm, so I thought it'd be quiet, but the queue was still pretty busy. Because they cook their fish fresh, they tell you you have to wait about 20 minutes for it. If there are 5 people in front of you, that's an hour's wait. Funny thing is, the place next door, which I'm guessing is managed by the same people, had no queue and my fish was ready in 5 minutes.

We were here at the weekend, the cod and hips were amazing, the staff work really hard to cook you the best fish and chips we have had and smile and are friendly, we will coming back for more next time we stay in Clacton

If you ever visit St.Osyth beach do try the Sailor Boy fish bar for the best fish and chips anywhere. In 22 years of repeated visits we have never been disappointed.

So I found sailor boy walking back from Huntley’s arcades and we was all starving (8 in my family) so we thought well we’re on holiday we will try the local chippy which happened to be sailor boy! Well I’m so glad I walked into this shop I went in quite late near there closing time so I felt bad with the order size they was about to get from me.... after ordering 8peoples dinner our food did not take long to wait for and then the smells were just delightful! The deep fried halloumi omg!!! Amazing!!! The fish you could tell was nice and fresh and chips were cooked on point! And then I saw they did deep fried mars bar the last time I’d had 1 of those was 9years ago in Scotland and wow this shop kicked their butt! Kim who is Clacton a best deep fryer to walk this earth I believe said in the summer they do deep fried cream eggs so I guess il see you all in the summertime with all the clan! Thank you sailor boy!

Delicious grub, perfect chips and real chunky cod pieces, what more can you ask for? Lovely location right by a beach and a small arcade, a perfect place to go and enjoy a fish and chips on a summer evening.

Always visit the sailor boy when in Clacton best pub in Clacton and great food.However we opted to try sailor boy chippy,Grandson had his favorite to start, battered Mars bar followed by a smoothie,then med fish and chips which could have fed an army. We all had fish and chips and drinks and the price was really cheap for a family of five.I thought the chippy was good value for money and really good portions per person Really worth a visit, Sailor boy has a really good night time programme to suit all types of holiday makers.

Lovely fresh fish in a light batter that melts in your mouth. Chips are good too. Lively place to sit on a sunny day or pop up and sit along the sea wall. Staff are happy, cheerful and friendly. Well worth the journey if not staying onsite. Lots of amusements for the kids etc...

From the moment you walk thought the door you can tell your going to get great service. Perfectly cooked food a stones throw away from the sea. With loads of options on the menu and friendly staff you can't go wrong here.Also check the Sailor Boy Pub next door.

I was on holiday for a week at a nearby campsite and really wanted fish and chips. I didn't know what I wanted but when I got there I was recommended the Skate. It was the freshest fish I have had, absolutely cooked perfectly, the flavour was amazing. It was so good that I went back 2 days later and got more for myself and my Grandad. Thank you so much ladies for a wonderful experience. I will be back

Definatley the best fish and chip shop!! We are regulars here and camp on the parks nearby, we always take a walk up here for our chippy night, and have many times sat outside amongst the fab holiday atmosphere and had lunch. Its such a great place right by the sea and amusements for kids too. Always a busy chippy, always quea but dont be put off by that as super quick service. Food always cooked lovely and piping hot. A real gem! will always return x

Please do not go anywhere else. We have used this and fish and chip shop for years. Always consistently good. Good food and staff are always friendly. We are locals and would recommend visitors to the area to go here first. They will not be disappointed. Can even pop over and sit on the sea wall to watch the boats go by as you eat your fish and chips. Have known Danny and Georgia years and they will go out of there way, to ensure that you get what you ask for.

Very nice food, fresh cooked and tasty. We sat outside which was lovely, unfortunately one of the employees was sitting outside having a break and was very loud and foul mouthed which spoilt it as we have young children so we had to move, but I would definitely recommend the food.

We had a large chips to share. Taste wise average. Small portion but this is reflected in price. Had battered sausage which was good. At weekends they have karaoke outside, so we didn’t stick around. But bench to sit and free parking. Right by beach.

We have a few meals from here and every time the food is gorgeous. My wife and I had cod and cheesy chips, the cod was a huge piece and beautifully cooked. Portion sizes are generous and a large chips will do 2 people (or a hungry teenager!)

I visited the fish and chip shop next door for some dinner. The staff seemed grumpy and pissed off at the fact they had customers as it was very busy. The food was basic but expensive for what it was. One staff member turned to me and said out loud that the young lad queuing next to me was the 'camp gay'. The poor lad looked highly embarrassed and upset afterwards. It was awkward and totally unprofessional.

We drive for an hour to get here especially for the chips! Freshly cooked and really tasty! The fish is also well cooked and reasonably priced. Always busy but queue goes down quickly and often 'outdoor karaoke' to keep you entertained while waiting! We then sit on sea wall to eat. Perfect :)

Had some lovely cod and chips here last week. The fish was freshly cooked to order in a crisp light batter. Chips were delicious too, and not greasy. I think they are double cooked, as they are crisp on the outside and fluffy inside. Portion sizes are good too. We had a medium cod each at £4.50 and only needed one regular chips £1.50between 2 of us. It's popular with local and visitors alike. They also do pies, sausages, chicken etc and for any Scottish visitors, they even do deep fried Mars bars!The only downside is the limited opening hours, but I guess this is because of the fairly remote location and/or time of year we visited. I can't wait to visit again. This chippy is far superior to Jason's and well worth the extra 5 minute walk.

Nice fish and chips by the seaside.Has a full menu and great selection.Very nice fish sausage in batter curry pancake roll and hamburgers. Service was quick friendly and with a smile from the owners daughter who coped well with our large family order.Nice children's meals served with a free drink. The portions could be a bit bigger especially the nice chips.No seating inside but plenty of benches outside stroll a bit further and you can sit on the sea wall. Would return and recommend.

Stayed here over Easter, best fish and chips ever, batter still crisp even after being wrapped to walk back to caravan, always busy but plenty of staff, everything freshly cooked so nice and hot, good price , will defiantly visit again if in area.

Lovely freshly cooked Fish and Chips..plus all the usual pies..sausages etc..and has a great SUNDAY MARKET in the field behind..which is open every Sunday from Easter until the end of October..

It was our first visit to the seaside, we had a lovely day and they made us feel so welcome. The fish was a reasonable price and cooked so beautifully, and the kids meals came with a nice price and portion with a little kiddie drink too. Highly recommend this fish and chip shop and the arcade was very welcoming too, with the kids park outside which made my 2 children very busy throughout the day. Great staff at the chippy and the kids park outside the amusement.

I liked the food it was a reasonable price but Jolie Jerram was not in her uniform and had inappropriate clothing. it was great but Jolie put me off.

Whilst visiting THE SUNDAY MARKET had lovely fresh Fish and Chips and sat outside in the sunshine with a pint from the Pub next door.Such a great area ,with the Market on Sundays and Wednesday in summer Holidays.Amusements and play area,Pub with Restaurant,Cafeteria with home cooked food.Nice seafront walk.
