Went out for a friends mid week birthday gathering we were a party of 16 & the only people in the restaurant. We waited for just over 2 hours for our simple order to be delivered . I've used this restaurant many time over the years and I'm aware there have been issues with the service in recent times. I can only comment as i find & i would not recommend using the Saffron lounge.

After ordering a delivery for our family, we waited 2 hrs before it arrived & when it did, it was the wrong food & stone cold. I would steer well clear!!

Food very good, friendly waiter, bring your own booze, very good value. Everything was great and we will definitely be back.

Catching up with a family member and chatting while reading the menu and trying to make our minds up. Were told we were taking too long and if we didn't order soon we would have to leave. This was a Monday evening and no one else in sight. Really spoiled our evening. I did ask about a certain dish but waiter wasn't very forthcoming. Shame as the food was good but I will never go back there again due to poor attitude.

We had takeaway recently But also had a meal in the restaurant which both were fantastic as always.. The staff are amazing make you feel so welcome

Food is excellent but we waited 1.5 hours and no food served so left without eating even though we asked twice

Got a takeaway for four Saturday night 25/02/23 and the food was amazing. We all enjoyed our individual dishes and they were awesome. The spices were finely balanced and mouth watering. I have indian dishes before and I have say Saffron tops the list. I regularly make my own indian dishes and mine are just as good or superior than the retail dishes but honestly I have to say not nearly as good as Saffron's.fairre. My mouth is watering now just thinking about my meal. Thank You for a lovely experience.

Was recommended to us by a friend and we weren't dissappointed! My partner had a balti and said was one of the best ones they had ever had ! I had chicken makhani which was nice but spoiled by the cheese on top which was a bit weird!

We went here to celebrate a friends birthday. The service was very disjointed - 2 of our party waited for their rice whilst the rest of us tucked in. The plates were delivered to our table cold which never helps keeps the food warm … the replacement plates were also cold with the food getting colder all the time. Half of our party thought the food was bland and totally unflavoured and I cannot remember having such a poor meal for a very long time.

I have, on numerous occasions, given this restaurant a 5 star review, so I am saddened now to have to give it such a poor review. The restaurant, staff and ambience were great. My friends all enjoyed their meals. Unfortunately I had asked for my main course to be Madras hot. It was extremely mild. I very politely brought this to the attention of the waiter who kindly took it to the chef to amend. It then came back hotter than a Vindaloo. While I can imagine and appreciate the humour of the chef that did this, it spoilt my meal and eating experience. I had recently moved home and had take an 80 mile round trip to get there. I won’t be visiting again.

Have sat in but mainly have as a takeaway. Portion sizes are good, flavours are amazing I won't order from anywhere else now!

Fantastic food, take your own drinks really keeps the cost down, lovely friendly staff. Wouldn't hesitate to go back 👏👏

Husbands birthday thought try some where new .I've read people's comments that was rating this place great.So we decided to try the restaurant out.Very impressed. A lot to choose from & different dishes to normal Indian restaurants.We both loved the starters and even the mains was good too.Excellent food & brilliant service.We will be going again with family.Next to try is the home delivery service. Cannot wait to go again.Well done to you all.Thanks for a lovely evening.

Overcharged me - charged more than the menu stated.....& the food I chose was tasteless/very bland. Friendly staff, but I won’t be going again.

I have been eating at Saffron Lounge (formerly Mountbattens) over 10 years, and have had numerous meals and take aways. The food is always excellent, extremely tasty and well cooked. The staff are always polite and helpful.

Always come here after I visit malvern hills with friends. It’s closest best restaurant. Absolutely love the food very flavoursome and tasty. Best Indian food I’ve had. Welcome hospitality and cosy environment. Chef also accommodated us, coming out meeting us. Was such a lovely night. Thank you Want a curry and a good evening? Go there. Food:10/10 Hygiene: 5/5

These guys came to the rescue preparing our meal in record time when we were let down elsewhere. Really friendly staff and the food was really good. I had a king prawn puree for starter which had a bit more of a kick than normal but was delicious and a king prawn biryiani as well which was lovely. They don't serve alcohol but tbh that wasn't an issue and was more than happy to have a coke with my food. If I am ever passing through again I will be sure to go back

Always rate there food spot on but there customer service and delivery times are shocking ! Waited 2 hrs for home delivery,phoned the restaurant over 30 times with no answer ! Finally picked up only to say sorry they are running behind and it's on the way didn't even ask our address then hung up on us ! Shall not be ordering from them again.sorry saffron lounge you have lost some loyal customers.

Came here last weekend..the place was empty but seen as though it has okay reviews we thought we would give it a try. My husband had a chicken tikka curry which he enjoyed..I had a Madras which was bland with no spice and full of overcooked tough chicken. The keema rice was nice, the naan was stodgy. My husband said he would eat here again but I wouldn't so it's a 3 from me.

Tried Saffron lounge takeaway for the first time last evening and we were very impressed. Great selection on menu, came exactly to time. The meals were exceptionally good. Not at all greasy.Will definitely go for sit down meal. Highly recommended.

I’ve used this restaurant several times and tried several different dishes and everyone has been brilliant! The staff are always friendly and without doubt the best Indian restaurant in Evesham!! 10 out of 10

Went on a Sunday was very busy but only one person serving front of house! He was very nice and told us the boss had not turned up.Slow to get food but we was not in a rush and food was lovely!GET MORE STAFF

We visited here on Saturday 27th July without a booking but received a very warm welcome and allocated a table the restaurant was busy at this time. Within minutes of being seated we asked if we required poppodums which arrived promptly with chutney tray, order was then taken shortly after. I ordered the Emli Delight and my wife the Onion Bhajis the starters arrived after a very short wait and the Emli Delight was delicious and have to say outstanding my wife’s onion bhaji also lovely light and well flavoured. Main Courses we stuck with the traditional curry route ordering the dopiaza and myself the lamb madras with pilau rice and naan bread. The main courses were equally as good as the starter well cooked great flavours and have to say again really good. Service in the restaurant was very good attentive unobtrusive and a credit to front of house staff. We learned later when paying the bill that they were one member of staff down that evening so bearing this in mind shows great standard of service here All in all I would thoroughly recommend a visit here highly food and service excellent well done to you all at the Saffron Lounge. Will be making a return visit here very soon !!

Not impressed by the attitude of the staff we went for a family meal after we had rang the restaurant to check children were welcome the staff were not very friendly at least the food was good but everything was spoilt by the staff will not be going again

Great food, good variety, BYOB reasonable prices. Mid week you can just turn up,would book for the weekend.

first time i have come up town for a curry was the ones near port st are so bad!!!!!it seem from sitting down they were in a harry it my be that outhers like to get in and out fast but i like to think they are cooking somethink and not diping in to a pot and throwing in some bits and bobs and getting it out asap .tryed something new it was not great same with my son.no drinks no sweets no good!!!!!!!!!!!!1

5mins late but who cares....rather it was a bit late if it means its cooked well and tastes great. Always great food, generous portions and the delivery man is always happy and polite.

Madras ordered great curry, my wife’s Tawa certainly lacked flavour quite disappointing certainly consider other restaurants in town for a takeaway

I recommendation would be not to have slices of whole tomato in the balti curry

That’s the first and last time I’m ordering from Saffron Lounge food is tasteless the saag and everything else not worth it seriously I spend £40 and everything is in a bin. To be honest I ate small amount because I was hungry otherwise I will send it back. Never again! Not Recommending

It took a total of just under 2 hours from when I first made the order to when I actually got it. I called the restaurant 3 times and was told the delivery driver was on his way. When it did arrive the food was cold. Terrible service.

Chose to collect as the delivery time was an hour. Website said 20 minutes so I placed my order. The restaurant changed the wait time to 30 minutes. I arrived after 30 minutes but the order wasn't ready. I had to wait a further 10 minutes.

Delivery time was set for 19:30 but didn’t arrive until after 20:00. Not worth the wait!

great service and excellent food

Food took almost an hour and a half to arrive on a Sunday night and when it did arrive it was stone cold. A shame considering this is normally our go to curry house.

Always been good previously but all the food was cold on arrival except the 2 main dishes and had to be put in the oven to heat up, dishes watery too, I think the normal chef was on holiday

Placed my order before they opened, original delivery was set for 18:45 (opened at 18:00). Got a phone call to request an extra £1 for delivery as soon as they opened, I said fine and would give the extra £1 to the delivery driver when he turned up. The delivery time was then changed to 19:00 instead of 18:45. At 19:15, I rang them to ask where the food was as it hadn't arrived. I was told the food was on the way and would be with me within 10 minutes. At 19:30 the food eventually arrived. Overall not happy about any part of the service and the food which is normally very nice was fairly average.

From order to deliver it took 2 and a half hours.

food delivery was late almost two hours. within that time i phoned them twice. food arrived cold and main meal was not what i ordered.

ordered a Balti and a Jalfrezi. Simple order, actually preordered at 5:40 and had confirmed delivery time of 6:45. food was okay. called twice to chase order, the first call the guy was just saying it was with the delivery driver, didn’t know my name or address, so he has the powers of telepathy obviously. in truth he was lying. I got a text at 6:52 saying out for delivery. I called at 7:20 and 7:45. this has happened before with this restaurant, I forgot it was this one I had the issue with until I checked my order history. I live 7 mins from the restaurant for context. anyway, if not in a rush and want some cheap food, this is okay but there are better options.

food wasn’t bad. took ages to arrive! it was a pre-order so they had it when they opened and even then the expected delivery time was another 55 mins after opening! it was another 45mins after the expected time!!

Our first take away in Evesham and even though a little late was great, excellent food and plenty of it. Will definitely chose again. Thank you for your service.

Very unhappy, rang over 12 times to find out what was going on .. left 2 voicemails .. people were clearly there just ignoring me.. food still not here😡

Not only was my food over 2 hours late, I had to phone up twice to check where it was and the person on the phone was very rude towards me and kept lying to me.

Firstly, we didn't book but were given a table with a welcoming smile. We didn't realise they don't serve any drinks until we asked for a wine menu, and were told that they don't and we can purchase over the road - which was fine and cheaper that restaurant prices. Food quality really good and portion sizes very good - we had starters and mains and this proved to be too much so have the rest for a take away.

As a bring your own booze option this comes in nicely on budget and offers a good range of dishes from the usual curry favourites to a few special dishes. The food is always piping hot and very tasty with the staff very accommodating for extra requests. It is a popular spot so worth booking in advance. Great service which is not rushed at all allowing plenty of time for a good social night out.

We went in saffron’s for food after having a lovely evening in town they seated us brought out the popadoms then while my husband was still eating went to take them away did not even ask if finished mind when someone got hand on a popadom to eat it usually a give away they are still eating , then when we complained the lady said oh well not what you want with a meal you re paying for main meal came out and the one who went to take food away was still hovering made you feel uncomfortable and to top it off chicken was like rubber and for a two pepper way way too hot to enjoy would never use again also not we’ll day after

I ordered a mixed sizzler which is supposed to come with a naan bread according to the description. The naan bread was frustratingly missing from the order which is very disappointing! I live five miles from the restaurant so I certainly was not going to drive back to get the missing naan. If you order from here you need to check that you have everything you have ordered and paid for as this happens often at this restaurant!

Always had lovely food from here. Take aways are big portions too. Never had a bad meal from here. Would recommend.

Great food, on time, friendly driver what more do you need?

First customers in as they opened, nice atmosphere and great service, food was excellent with Prawn in Garlic very good followed by Chicken/Mushroom and Spinnach Balti which was one of the best I have had, combined with a fresh and tasty Naan.

The food was great, just a pity it was 35 minutes late & cold. I'd definitely recommend the Chicken Bemisal Khana, providing you have a microwave to warm it up.

Food was OK but not as flavoursome as others I've had. Good size portions though!

Food was good, but collection time was 1910 and food wasn't available until 1940. Spending half an hour waiting around past the collection time really annoyed me.

Great portions. Something slightly missing from the flavour of each of the curry’s though. But still very much edible and tasty.

chicken uncooked, won’t be using again

My first time eating from this place and I can honestly say it’s been one if the best I’ve had. Totally recommend the mixed grill and tandoori fish. Lovely food and well cooked

Waited two hours for a mediocre meal, clearly microwaved as I had a vegetable masala and the potato in it was stone cold in the middle. Our poppadum arrived in a thousand little pieces and without the mango chutney which we ordered and paid for. A two hour wait for this is simply unacceptable and the fact we couldn’t get through to the restaurant to chase up the status of our order was infuriating. Whats even worse is that when I eventually managed to get through to them to discuss my disappointment I was given no apology and refused a refund. The man on the phone kept talking over me and telling me they were extremely busy.. quite frankly that isn’t my problem, they should know how many tables/takeaways they can cater for and work accordingly instead of making paying customers starve for two hours to then receive a carelessly put together, cold meal.

Ordered takeaway, experienced a severe asthmatic reaction to the food as there was prawn in the CHICKEN PASSANDA. Their response - I'm a f****** cun*. Avoid, food is awful; and customer service UNBELIEVABLE.

Best Indian we’ve had in a long time, the food was hot & tasty with generous portions. The Naan breads were particularly yummy. Plates were cleared and happy customers:) Highly recommended.

We tend to go to Saffron for Indian in Evesham and we are never disappointed and we are always pleased with the food and the service and the price! Amazing tasting food - I love their chicken bhuna! Thanks!

Absolutely dreadful service! Wrong curry was sent , had to wait over 45 minutes for a replacement by which time the rice, chips and naan bread was stone cold. Took one mouthful of the curry and it was inedible! The whole lot went in the bin! Rang the restaurant to complain but unfortunately they became very rude and began shouting at me. Contacted just eat and have been promised a refund for the curry only, even though the rest of it was binned. I’ll never order from here again! A waste of my money!!

Ordered at 6:30pm for delivery at 7:50pm and it still wasn’t with us at 8:45. Rang up to be told it was out with a driver and would be another 15 minutes. Over an hour past delivery time for a Tuesday night is appalling. We cancelled our meal and had to order a dominos instead, which was ready for us to pick up within 10 mins of ordering.

Four of us ate here. I love Indian food. The food served here was outstanding. I have also had take away for from here which was equally good.

Had to wait an hour for my food and when the food came a tub of tikka masala was open and all in the bottom of the bag. But couldn't be bothered to complain as I was starving and would eat anything at that point

Our whole family use Saffron Lounge either for dining in but mostly for take away, the food is in our opinion the best Indian in Evesham, the chef will tweek a dish to suit your taste and the portions are spot on giving you value for money,the staff are always pleasant and friendly,if the home delivery was a bit faster we would have rated this a five star.

Every time. Every. Time. I always forget why I don’t order from here. Every time something is sent incorrect, or not sent at all. Last nights success was Scampi instead of Chicken Nuggets. How? But it gets better, one piece was actually a Chicken Nugget. How are these getting mixed in a kitchen. At least the food arrived in good time. Never again.
