My friend and I have been enjoying saffron for years. We work in Aztec West (and I live in the area) so often we would choose Saffron for our team building/gathering meals. We order what we know we love to eat there and never were disappointed until now. Last saturday evening, 27th July we decided to treat ourselves to our favourite dishes from saffron, chicken madras and chicken Kerala curries, with rice and paratha. We know the prices aren't cheap and we don't mind as we know the food will be quality. My friend being Asian likes her chicken Madras to be spicy and specified over the phone when ordering to make it spicier than (as she always have it when we go there) I ordered my chicken Kerala with a paratha (that I love) and rice. The order took almost 50min to prepare and once we finally had our food and opened the containers we immediately noticed that both curries were similar in colour, pale and orangey as opposed to the more reddish tone we are used to. If the name of the dishes weren't written on the containers, the only thing that was different was the usual long chillies that come in the Kerala curry. My friend's chicken madras was tomatoey in taste, lacked the usual flavours and was not spicy/hot as my friend usually has it. I tried my Kerala one and it wasn't the usual taste either and we tried each other curries to find the same tomatoey taste in both, albeit the madras being very slightly hotter than the Kerala one. It looked like they used the same tomato base and were meant to add the different spices for the curries afterwards and that steps was missed? The curries were runny/watery and the worst thing ever, my paratha that I had been looking forward to enjoy very much, was not its usual fluffy and crispy on the outside but doughy almost like it was cooked on high heat too quick and the inside didn't cook properly and tasted bland like the curries. See accompanying pictures. This is the first time I had to bin bread in my life, above all paratha bread!! We ate our rice and the few papadoms we ordered with a bit of our curries because we were starving. If the restaurant wasn't about to close we would have drove down there so they could see for themselves what the food was like. My friend called the restaurant, the chef had left by then (around 10:30pm ish) from what the person(owner?) we spoke to said. He assured us that both curries were different curries, not using the same base and that he will have to speak to his chef when he is back the following day and will give us a call back. We waited all day Sunday and no call back. Bear in mind, we do not feel comfortable complaining or send food back ever, as we found it rude and usually don't have to as the food is always good, so we waited for a callback, hoping we wouldn't have to write this review. Sadly, you have now lost 2 long time customers and we will make sure to pass on our recent experience to our colleagues and friends. Now the search begins to find a new favourite Indian restaurant -_- Fran

Best Indian in the local area, tried several times dine in and delivered. Mint sauce and naan are the favourites, biryani and other dishes are all decently good too. Really good price and good service.

Lovely as always. Went for the vindaloo tonight for the first time and can confirm it is a slow burn 😂, started off okay but by the time I’d finished my face was melted👍🏽

Lovely meal. I ordered lamb chop starter & mushroom biriani. It came with salad & a yoghurt pot - too much for me to eat in 1 go! By far the best delivery l have had from Saffron. Driver polite. I would gladly have paid for this in their restaurant.

I entered the restaurant and then left within 5 minutes as I didn't like the smell inside the restaurant. Food might be good, but I didn't try any. No parking bays for them. I was told to park on others (nearby offices) space.

We were told we would have a free Sag Aloo, it didn’t arrive 😔

Took the kids inside for a curry. Was good. Usually order takeaway from here.

Food order was made , received and the service was good. However the Chicken Tikka Masala that was ordered and received wasn't great , wasn't as saucy as normal and came quite thicker than normal and tasted rather powdery , normally order alot and it comes to a brilliant standard however this time i wasn't greatly pleased.

Tastiest Indian food we've had in the area (and being a mixed Indian/English family our standards are high!). We've ordered from Saffron a few times and always enjoy their variety of dishes. Highly recommend.

Excellent food but the medium curries seemed devoid of spice and heat.

Curry was a little watery was tasty but the raita dip was just Greek yogurt with salad dumped on top would avoid. Other than that was good and got free Bombay potatoes

I’ve ordered a few times from here and have been to the restaurant a number of times - sitting in has always been fine however the takeaway not so much - the first time I ordered they forgot my papadums (they did bring them when I phoned) then next time I ordered lamb but was given chicken - this time I thought my lamb tikka masala was fairly awful - tasted odd - I won’t be ordering from here again which is a shame

We have always used saffron, but both. Curry’s were watered down, awful curry - what’s happened?

Indian restaurant tucked away in a quiet location in Bradley Stoke. I'm not local and visited for a works Christmas party. What can I say, the food was delicious, better than many of the better known curry houses in Bristol. It was well presented, good portion sizes and not expensive. The place is a hidden gem, I'd travel for a return visit.

A very good little place. Loved the food and where we sat. Service very good also, but not terribly busy but plenty of staff around if anything was needed. Will go again!!

Food was amazing. Unfortunately, delivery was slow. Ordered food just after 7 with the app saying 35-50mins. Confirmation said 810-830. Actually turned up at 9. I would order again as hopefully this was a one off, but a 2 hour wait is unacceptable

I wouldn’t recommend this restaurant at all not really Indian restaurant they are Bangladesi restaurant. We had chicken chaat puri which was fine to eat. Fro mains we asked for Butter chicken not to be sweet it came out to be sweet. We approached staff and told them we ordered no sweet they changed it but no apologies could be seen in stafff behaviour. They bought us chicken Korahi again which turned to be sweet again unwillingly we have to ask them to take that out. Staff told us that is not sweet even if we told them it was sweet. Really unprofessional behaviour shown by staff. They told us it can’t be taken out of bill. We accept that they said and asked them to take that away from bill. Still staff showed no respect to us. Again only Indian name is taken food is not Indian and hospitality too. Really unhappy with experience we came all the way to England but really disappointed

Food was colder on arrival than we’ve had previously, but taste was as good as always.

Portion sizes seem to be getting smaller. Smallest chapati I've ever had!

Delivered politely on time. Onion bargies always nice & lamb chops. Chicken meal had a paratha stuffed inside the same container with the chicken so was wet & soggy so put it in the bin. Salad was put in a bag on hot food & was sweating & soggy so also went in the bin apart from salvaging a few bits. I paid restaurant price for this disappointment. My feedback is totally honest & you need more care to make delivery a better experience because you could have nice food.

Normally really nice food but today it was lacking flavour and our requests were ignored. Will have to try somewhere else next time.

I have been hesitating for months to order a meal from yourselves. I wish that I didn't hesitate for so long. The food was delicious & just perfect to my liking too. Thank you so much for lovely food. Real chunky tender chunks of chicken breast, perfectly cooked, beautiful. The only one small downfall was the Nann Breads were a bit soggy "ish", but that is only to be expected really due to condensation forming in side there bags. Everything was hot when delivered by a lovely polite gentleman. Thanks Saffron . ◔⁠‿⁠◔ I will return again.

The Chicken Tikka mains were not cooked enough in fact some of the bigger pieces were vey under cooked. I complained to Just eat and the reply was that each restraunt cook differently. Ummmmmm don’t mind that but don’t want undercooked chicken it went in the bin rest of the meal was nice

Decent food, friendly staff, average prices. Could offer a few more dishes I believe, starters could be a bit larger and the side salads could be of higher effort. Overall pleased though.

Nice Indian food. You have to go around the houses to find it. We were up on the mezzanine in a large group. It was a summers evening and there were a few flies about which were annoying.

In short, nice food but not as good as it used to be. Service was great, staff are very courteous and our chicken was very tender. However, we felt the food lacked deep flavours. Price was reasonable.

I ordered garlic naan and veg jalfarezi. Jalfarezi and naan both were freshly prepared and thus were very hot, just to my liking. Naan was on the thicker side but I really liked the jalfarezi. It was very spicy as I was told but I liked it. Papad was ok, mango chutney was good. Somehow coke seemed to be out of fizz even after getting it changed. All in all, you can surely visit and I would recommend to share your requirements in advance to know what you should order.

After a mix up last time with times,we gave the saffron another go as food is always great. The manager himself delt and delivered to us today. We are very impressed and will be ordering again.
