Ordered a takeaway from here via just eat. On the plus side, it arrived early. On the negative.... My curry had a tasty sauce but the "lamb" contained in it was inedible. My complaint via just eat was fielded back saying the restaurant disagreed.Nothing resolved from either parties.... If you enjoy tender succulent meat..well, dont come here.

Went here for the early bird one Sunday. Although advised on Facebook, nowhere on the menu does it explain the deal. Once the deal was explained, we were told anything extra would be £1. Great we said, let’s just order what we wanted and work out that bill after. Starters came out quickly and were actually nice. That’s where it ended. Over an hour we waited for mains. Got one of our meals wrong and tried to blame us for ordering wrong. Mains were very red. More sauce than meat. When we asked for that bill it was more than double. When we questioned it, we were told we said we didn’t want the early bird and just wanted to order what we wanted. Bad communication and understanding. Not at all were we honoured any discount not even for waiting so long. Card machine wasn’t working. Just a bad experience. Used to order from Saffron many a time. But we’ll not return or order take away again.

Ordered a takeaway which we have ordered from here before, but this was a big let down, the king prawns were no bigger than a cockle, which you only got four and paid extra for, the mixed starter was a small portion, the lamb curry was very tough and the sil sila which is ment to have extensive use of corriander hadn't even got a sprinkling in it, very disappointed will have to review my next curry ordering decision...

Not a pleasant evening. Food was ok-ish although not as good as under the previous owners. The terrible part is that, despite having the stickers on the door showing which credit cards are accepted, they don't actually take them. Having entered the restaurant under the assumption that they still took credit cards (as per the door stickers) when we came to pay we were firstly told that the card machine was not working. When we spoke to the manager he suggested we walk to the nearest cash point, get some cash out and come back. We don't usually carry £100 in cash, especially when the restaurant advertises on its door that it takes credit cards. The manager then said that they have stopped taking credit and worked on a cash basis. Hmmm. We won't be going back. There are other establishments in the Colne Valley that take cards and have better menus (the fixed price menu has also gone from Saffron).

We have been fairly regular visitors to Saffron over the past 5 years. One of the plus points was the set menu which was £10.95 and was a bargain. We haven't been in since before Christmas and knew it was under new management. Upon being sat down we were given the menus to find the set meal had gone and there was an increase generally in the price of the food. Whilst disappointed it would be unfair to rate it purely on this aspect and we ordered our food. We were the only people in at 18.30 and even on a Saturday night you would have expected more people in especially with young children. Also the restaurant itself was really cold. We had to sit next to a radiator to keep warm which is not the best environment to be in when eating. The food took some time to be prepared which was a surprise as we were the only ones in and hearing the chefs/staff arguing in the back didn't exactly add to the atmosphere. In fairness the food was good albeit not outstanding. The main issue came upon payment. We asked for the bill and was asked by the waitress "are you paying by card as our card reader isn't working". It would have been nice to have been told this prior to sitting down and ordering. Totally understand this type of thing can happen but it was very unprofessional. Upon complaining to management we were told there was a cash machine down the road and was then informed that "all the regulars know we are cash only now" and he indicated they haven't had a card reader since before Christmas. Clearly mixed messages and again just another nail in the coffin for us I cannot remember a time I last went to a restaurant in the UK that did not take card payments. What is even more annoying is that they still had a visa/MasterCard sticker in the window. The bill in total came to over £80 for 4 which whilst not very expensive also wasn't a bargain. The set up just now feels unprofessional and not particularly customer focussed. Unless we hear things improve massively we won't be back which is a shame

Quite possibly the worst takeaway we've ever had. We've eaten in the Restaurant and it was lovely, however the takeaway we've just eaten was abysmal. Everything was stone cold. Soggy oily popadoms, wet, bland pakora, the wrong mains sent and a garlic naan which was garlicless and inedible. The whole thing just ended up in the bin. Waste of money.

Saturday 3rd September we decided after hearing good reviews to try Saffron and rang in an order for the set menu for two and chicken nuggets and chips for our son,We got our money ready and waited for the delivery, which was prompt however the driver asked For £6 more than we expected, looking at the receipt they had crossed out the set meal and tried to charge individually for each item.,we only paid the driver for the set meal, then rang the restaurant to complain, the person on the phone was rather rude in his tone and basically said we hadn't asked for the meal deal, which we did, why would we pay the extra,,,, to finish I must admit the food we had was excellent although when we had sat down for the meal the poppadoms and a portion of chips were missing,,,

We as a family fancied a change from our usual takeaway so it was decided we would try saffron in linthwaite. I have not been so disappointed for a while!! At first, picking the food up, it smelt great and I couldn't wait to dig in. I wasn't feeling too hungry so only got chicken tikka on naan whilst my parents had an actual curry each. Upon opening my meal I wasn't thrilled, the naan was burnt but I carried on and proceeded to eat it, the chicken was dry and tasteless and the naan tasted burnt. I had a chicken pakora as well and the batter was disgusting more like a paste inside as if not cooked properly, again the chicken was dry. I ended up leaving a half of my food and had to make something else more than anything just to get rid of the burnt taste!! They curry looked very watery but my parents seemed to enjoy them, I didn't dare try them. I will not be returning to this establishment again.

The take-away meal for two offer at Saffron is hard to beat at £15.95:- Poppadoms and dips- 2 starters- 2 main courses- 2 sundries (rice, nan etc.)- 1 side dish. All the food is delicious, well packaged and delivered free over a wide radius (we live in Marsden). This is our regular curry takeaway. My particular favourite main dish is Bual Biran - a super-tasty fish curry, which would cost £7.95 if ordered individually. If I had to find one flaw it is that all the meat is cooked in a tandoor and added to the curry sauce. This is a popular way to cook meat in Indian restaurants, but I prefer the meat to be cooked 'wet'.Saffron don't have a website, so here is a scan of their menu: https://db.tt/2m1FCVXNI have occasionally eaten in and the service and atmosphere are good.

We are always greeted at Saffron with a warm welcome. The restaurant is clean and nicely decorated, the tables are dressed with linen table cloths and the service is always brilliant. There is a permanent offer of 5 courses for £10.95 - starters are a goods size and always brought quickly. The menu is HUGE, and the mains are amazing. I usually have a prawn dish and I have always been impressed. The only think I would say is that the tikka masala is quite creamy and korma-like, so if you like a quite hot curry, do not order that. There are lots of paneer dishes which is rare in a curry house - our vegetarian friend was very impressed. I think the service and food quality is second to none, the owners/managers/ waiters are really friendly, and I wouldn't go anywhere else locally for a curry.

There are many fine Indian restaurants in Huddersfield but none that will do a five course meal for just £10.95 - nor of such outstanding quality! We live just up the road and avoided what we thought was a cheap and somewhat unattractive place. Then one night we took a chance and have never looked back. This is now our favourite Asian eatery. The staff are excellent, the food unbelievable, especially the lamb shank which is unique to this place in my experience. Every dish we have had has been distinctive, not the derivative curry of many places. There has never been a problem getting a table so we don't want to shout about it too much but it really deserves a five star mention.

Ordered a house special comprising a tasty spinach curry and a delicious mushroom curry 🥰 Together with the pilau rice and the largest naan bread I have ever seen, it was more than I could eat but my family happily shared it 😊 Impressed by the staff who made us feel welcome even though we were the last people in the restaurant and didn't try to hurry us up. They were happy for me to bring in my own reusable cup and didn't enquire as to the contents. The decor was very tasteful with lights that changed colour which had quite a relaxing effect.
