Saffron in Wirral

Ordered on line 10/2/24 found out couple hours later shop is closed long term still processed my card payment Will be taking this therefore

Ordered food on their website at 5.30, at 7.30 it still had not arrived, phoned them a good few times that went to answer fone, ended up going to the shop to find it was closed down, they are still taking the money for food orders even tho they are closed !!!!!!

I can only assume the guy who came up with the prices of this menu is a heavy crack user. That, and he's never tried any of the food on it. Must be tories with how much they fleece you.

Ordered a meal for 3 yeterday evening. Very disappointed - the lamb in the lamb dish was undercooked, tough and gristly. The keema nan included a thin smear of something brown which didn't taste remotely of spiced lamb. The rice was OK, the bajis were OK, the tarka dal lacked flavour, as did the chicken tikka biryani and its vegetable curry. Not good for £46.

Ordered a take away from here it was all really nice and we all enjoyed it . Would deffo order from here again

Been here many times and this time for some reason it was poor, even when I called them to order and said please can it be spot on as I have had some poor quality food from other takeaways lately, they said they would do there best, obviously there best wasn’t good enough, not even half way through the starters we give up and binned them. Called them to let them know, they did offer to send a replacement out but by then are main meal would of been cold and it would of been far to late. Why can’t you get it right first time ?? Especially when I had already asked them at the beginning. Very disappointed as we look forward to out Saturday night Indian meal every week, and it’s not cheap, won’t be going back.

We ordered some food the oil tasted like it was a month old and there was like 3 pieces of chicken ..

After a number of bad takeaways from a number of other restaurants, Saffron was really the last role of the dice for Indian food for us. We ordered 4 meals tonight and every single mouthful was delicious. The poppadoms were fresh and not greasy, naan breads packed full of flavour, the balti, Jaipur, Koulna and saag paneer were all excellent. There were fresh spices in the sauces and the veg and onions were fresh, not stewed all day like other restaurants seems to. The rice was again tasty and not greasy at all as were the onion bhajis. Very reasonable in price, my dad even commented that it can't be that good at these prices, but he was very wrong. We had a gamble on this takeaway and boy did it pay off! This will be our new go-to for Indian takeaways from now on!

Ordered from Saffron several times now, and the food and service has always been first class. Quality food, generous portions, piping hot, and delivered on time every, time. Why would I go anywhere else?

I now live abroad but used to be a regular here, probably the best Indian I have ever had. Friendly staff and delicious food. Its only when you go to other places you realise how good something was. ....Saffron is top!!!

Eaten at many of the Indian takeaways around Bebington/Tranmere area and this is by far the best slightly more expensive than some but well worth it for the quality of food provided. There onion chutney (red coloured) never seen anywhere else 😋

I've been using these for years and never had a bad meal or wrong one! Usually get delivered and most of the time early. Nice family

Went here based on reviews on other sites (should've trusted Trip Advisor reviews instead), ridiculous waiting time, no excuse for taking well over an hour. Add to this poor portion sizes, the dhal curry was like water it was so runny, and the saag paneer had I'm not joking 3 chunks of paneer in mostly spinach, very stingy on ingredients. Friends said the chicken was very limited in their meal too. So you're paying a premium over other Indians for less portions and unacceptable delivery times. Very disappointed.

Best Madras I have had in years. Beautiful chicken Chat. Only complaint is that Cheese Naan isn't an option. Would recommend wholeheartedly! Also delivered slightly early which made me happy.

I have been using Saffron for almost 2 and a half years now and standards are always high, food is amazing, been around the country for about 6 months now so thought id go see the lads, always happy to see ya and its always nice when they know you by your name, 10 stars all round for these guys

Won’t be ordering again no idea why tandoori chicken was so over spiced as it shouldn’t of been since it’s not a spicy dish but it went in the bin completely ruined are family meal not to mention the cost complete wasted of money

Lovely rich flavours, lots of good vegetables and good size portions, plenty for leftovers. Maybe a little more detail required about the dishes, it wasn’t clear if they came with rice or not.

Loved the chicken tikka massala, best one ive had in a while

I picked this take away because of the high ratings, but was very disappointed. As apose to being red thick and creamy our chicken tikka Masala was runny, bland and of a strange browny grey colour. The food didn’t taste like it had come from a proper Indian restaurant! Was a waste of money to be honest

Curry was spilt all over the paper bag then thrown in a carrier bag to cover it up. Chicken was rock hard , overcooked and rice was clumpy won't be going again.

First time ordering and the food was fab, service quick and early will be ordering again!

Curry was really nice. However..the king prawns in batter had hard shells still on? sweaty salad in a bag never does anything for anyone.But the lamb starter was very very nice!

After a number of bad takeaways sampled when I visited my mum I got a recommendation to try this place. I wasn't disappointed. i ordered via their website, which was really easy to use. I had a text to confirm that my order would take 10mins longer than my requested slot but that was fine (it was then delivered within 10mins of when it was due). We had Murgh Batwaar with tarka dhal and saag paneer sides. All the dishes were really tasty, well spiced and not excessively oily. I tried both puris and chapattis with the meal and was really impressed with the puris (we used to make them when I was a child but have previously been disappointed with ones I've had from takeaways). I will be using this again.

Always order curry from saffron always spot on never had a fault with them would never go anyere else

Had to collect food as delivery time was changed by 30 mins to well over an hour. No offers to refund delivery charge which was disappointing! Food was excellent, would order again but collect if a busy time!

Best indian in the wirral by a mile

OK so a Friday night with daughter home and not looking forward to cooking, so its take away time....again! Fed up with all the usual so tried somewhere different, first time ordering from Saffron, great move. Food delivered to the door, plenty of choice on the menu and beautifully cooked, far superior to our usual haunts. Will definitely be using again and again.

Didn't really have much taste to it. Tasted like cheap chicken also.

Have ordered from Saffron numerous of times. Food has always been substantial. Staff are always helpful but more importantly get things done, notes left are always considered and a quick call to confirm the order so we get exactly what we want! Customer service is second to none. Delivery and collection always on time if not earlier, cannot reccomend this place enough.

Food was outstanding and very tasty and very big portions

Chutney selection was excellent, poppadoms crisp. My shaslick with veg curry sauce was lovely. But Pasanda was far too sweet with too much pander & the mushroom pilaf was very,very greasy. The keema naan we think was just a plain one but was fine.

Food was hot, portion sizes were generous and it tastes amazing.

Chicken had a texture of it been sitting for hours and was rubbery not freshly cooked. We had a ‘house special’ curry and I can only compare it to slightly spicy gravy. Very upset as we don’t get takeaways often and it was meant to be a treat but we were left disappointed and hungry. Will not be returning.

Had first take away from here and I will definitely be ordering from here again. Had a mixture of Indian cuisine and it was all A*. Highly recommend

standard had slipped slightly i like a warm curry one of my dishes was Naga chicken which was not the usual high standard there were a lot of dried chilli's in that dish instead of the usual fresh ones to which i am accustomed to . My Madras was also off par to my usual was it the chefs night off? Sorry to be critical but you set the bar high.

Food was nice, have had it previous times where its been even nicer but today the delivery was late even after given an hour and a half? Have been using Saffron for a number of years now and its always been on time or earlier, was given few free drinks so wasn't minded tbh as i know they get alot of orders because everyone wants there food. Oh well must've been a busy night. Still the best indian going xD
