We hosted a celebration of life at the Sadler building a few days ago. Having used the venue before for a 60th birthday celebration we knew it would be great! Julien Such helped with planning the event and Craig, the chef, prepared a menu of choices for the buffet. The buffet was quite a challenge as we had vegan, vegetarian, lactose intolerant, meat eating and coeliac guests, but I need not have worried. Everyone was catered for beautifully and the guests made a point in saying how great the food was. On the day the team looking after us all was excellent - I cannot think of a single thing that I was even slightly dissatisfied with and I am not easily pleased as my children like to point out..... We were lucky that it was held on a nice sunny day which made the Sadler building even more stunning. It is such a light and beautiful place - cannot think of anywhere else I would rather have been.

We held our company winter party in December 2021 and the venue was excellent. Julien and the team helped to deliver a fantastic Casino Royale themed event and I would highly recommend them. The food, service and staff were exceptional. Thank you again for providing the space, entertainment and wonderful customer service before and after the event.

He estado aquí varias veces y nunca me ha decepcionado. La comida es tan buena como cualquier restaurante que he visitado. I attended here twice for a business lunch in the same week. It was rather chaotic and not great! Despite us having already ordered our lunches and told them of both the lunches and arrival times they could not seem to get it right. On both occasions we were kept waiting a ridiculous amount of time and people had finished when some people got their only course. Staff were also a little rude and unaccommodating in my view. Food was actually delicious so this was making it more irritating that they could not seem to get it right. I'd recommend avoiding if you want a business lunch for a large group.

We had our wedding reception at the Sadler Building in April 2016. The building was bright, clean, spacious, comfortable and adaptable enough for us to have everything we wanted. We had a ceilidh band in one area, a quieter area for our non-dancing guests (with comfortable seats), a children’s play room (with paper and pens, giant jenga, a games console – a hit with the adults too!), and a paved and lit outdoor area with tables and chairs. Being away from the city centre, it felt pretty private and safe – we weren’t overlooked by the public and children wouldn’t be rushing out onto busy roads. There was ample free parking for our guests, the photographer, and the band. We could play our own music (on MP3 players) through the Sadler Building’s sound system. There were wide doorways and the event took place on the ground floor (no problems for those with pushchairs or wheelchairs). Julien and his team were extremely accommodating, polite and friendly. Julien made the planning process extremely easy for us (he took care of virtually everything!). All dietary requirements were catered for. Our vegan friends were particularly impressed to have choices (being more accustomed to having the decision made for them!). Overall, we had a brilliant day and would highly recommend the Sadler Building as a wedding venue.

Heather and I got married in September, and Julien (the events manager) was absolutely excellent, completely helpful, and brilliantly organised right from the beginning. The venue itself is beautiful: it's modern, but stylish, clean, and well presented. It's a fantastic space to have a wedding reception, as there's so much space for different parts (we had a meal and a ceilidh, but the bar area was still free for people to sit / relax) Food and wine were both excellent, and all very reasonably priced for Oxford. Absolutely amazing selection of food -- they said they could cook basically anything we asked for, but had a very large list of suggested meals anyway. In terms of distance from the centre -- it's much closer than you think, and travel to-and-from the venue (e.g. from the church) wasn't remotely an issue.

This review is a little late in coming! We held my husbands birthday celebration at the Sadler Building in February. Julien was a pleasure to work with, offering suggestions as well as accommodating our wants and needs. He was always welcoming and attentive. We had a Hog Roast with a vegetarian option, chocolate fountain, photo booth, DJ and disco - all organised by Julien - all went down a treat. His suggestion of a caricature artist was a hit with all our guests. The venue is spacious and the staff were excellent. I would highly recommend booking this venue for your special event. Sadler's is pretty basic and the food is in general quite average. The one exception is the soup they offer which is truly exceptional. Really different flavours and always fresh. Service is quite average.

From the beginning, Julien and his staff were welcoming, friendly and happy to help and organise anything we wished to happen on the day of the wedding. They are very organised and informative and helped us to create a purple/Cadbury/chocolate-themed wedding and even coped with the challenges of a lot of chocolate around on a sunny day! Julien was happy to provide specific menus for guests with specific dietary requirements and allergies and all guests loved the food. Beautiful chocolate fountain, LED lights in trees, simple but elegant layout. It's a really modern building and the buildings around provided great photo opportunities.

Food is pretty expensive for the quality you receive. It's OK if you want a quick lunch but I wouldn't say it's exactly restaurant food. Staff are nice though.

Planning our wedding was something we took our time over and we visited a lot of venues and were blown away by the Sadler building from day one We met with Julien to discuss what we were looking for and he left us in no doubt that nothing was too much trouble, every detail was considered (including some details that, as first time wedding planners, we hadn't even thought of!) Throughout the planning process he was in touch with regular updates reassuring us that the day would go off without a hitch. We visited the venue the day before the wedding and it really took our breath away, modern but with a friendly and relaxed atmosphere, the light and airy feel giving the venue a sophisticated and intimate feel. On the day itself we arrived to the champagne reception with the full red carpet treatment, our guests were made to feel that nothing was too much trouble. The staff were friendly, helpful and a credit to the venue. The entire day was fantastic and I have no doubt that a lot of this was down to Julien and his help and guidance. We honestly cannot recommend this venue enough, whether it is a wedding reception, birthday party, corporate event or a christening you genuinely will not find a more impressive and memorable venue!

Close to one of the company offices I visit. Good for a quick coffee or for lunch. Went for a team lunch as one employee was leaving. Plenty of reasonably prices items. Service was quick and efficient. Can get a bit hot in the sun as we were lucky to be there on a rare hot day!! Nice then to walk around the pond and back to work. Will use again if at that location.

I came here to eat because is close to the office. The quality of the food is amazing, and they take care of the presentation of the dish. They have a different menu every week. Good price for quality.

Beautiful venue with very helpful staff. Guests all gave positive comments and thoroughly enjoyed themselves.

I attended a talk and dinner at the Sadler Building on 24th April. The organization, service and cuisine were absolutely superb. The bar staff are the most efficient I have ever seen and were friendly into the bargain. The seating, layout and silver service were nothing short of outstanding and the standard of cuisine was among the best I have tasted.This is not a College Refectory, it offers a full fine dining experience with pleasant views in a modern setting. We have experienced 3 such annual dinners here and we will be booking again for the foreseeable future. I would highly recommend this venue for corporate and wedding events. The Food and Beverage Manager, Julian Such, could not have been more helpful.

I recently hired the Sadler Building for my sons 4th birthday party and I have nothing but great things to say about Julien & his team, they really went above & beyond for my sons special day & for that I am so grateful. I really can't thank you all enough.

The Sadler Building was the venue for my friends wedding. The staff were excellent. Friendly, efficient, unobtrusive, engaging. The food was of a high standard and the venue perfect for the event. There is a bar. It was a shame that all the lagers were bottled. Other than that it was a ideal.

My son got married last weekend and they held their reception in the Sadler building. It really was fantastic from start to finish. We were very lucky with the weather and were able to sit outside in the sunshine for the champagne and canapé reception before we went in for our meal. The setting was lovely. The way it had all been laid out was impressive. They chose to have a hog roast and this was served with apple sauce in a roll with a variety of salads. The staff are lovely, professional but friendly, they got it just right.We had a lovely meal and vegetarians were well catered for. We also had an evening buffet. This venue is great with lots of space and plenty of room to dance. I wasn't really involved in the organisation of the event but the bride's parents said that nothing was too much trouble for Julienne, and he was certainly very friendly and efficient on the day.Great venue with great staff, we all had a fantastic time and I would recommend it to anyone.

I hired the Sadler Building for a special Birthday celebration earlier this month and was very pleased I did. During the preparations, Julien was imaginative, attentive and accommodating with my particular requirements. On the night, Anna and her team performed brilliantly - nothing was too much trouble. Our guests were impressed by our choice of venue and very complimentary about the food. At every turn my expectations were exceeded. In short, a wonderful night which will live long in the memory for all the right reasons.

HelloI recently hired Sadler Building for a special occasion of mine. We had invited around 150 guests who all agree that the event was amazing and the quality and quantity of the food was fantastic! We did not have to worry about anything as all our guests were provided with above and beyond services by the staff and tables were set to perfection. It gave us the opportunity to really ENJOY our day. I am so very grateful for Julien who had taken care of all our guests and us. He was very flexible with what we wanted till the date of the event and gave us a truly exceptional personal service. We could not have had a better day.

On 4th October we celebrated a 50 year friendship that began in 1964 in the Annex of The Queen's College, Oxford. There were nearly 200 guests. I can say without reservation that Julien Such and his staff were helpful, efficient and courteous and made this a celebration to remember for a long time. The hot buffet was wonderful and the wines very well chosen. Above all the Sadler Building is an excellent venue for a party or other celebration. It is a lovely spacious building. There is also outside space though this was not needed on this occasion. Access to and from it is easy and there are plenty of parking spaces. The event took a lot of organising and Julien was helpful throughout the whole process as well as on the night.

My lunch at the Sadler building was absolutely fantastic. The atmosphere was perfect for a lunch and a catch up with a good friend and I would recommend it to anyone, the service was efficient and quick whilst being friendly and relaxed and the food was befitting of anywhere in Oxford for a sophisticated yet relaxed lunch

Our wedding reception at the Sadler building went beyond all of our high expectations. From the moment we viewed the venue until the day itself – Julien and his team have been absolutely great to deal with. The venue itself is stunning: the space is very flexible, which meant we could accommodate 110 guests comfortably and around 130 to the evening ceilidh. Julien and the team accommodated all of our requests - we pretty much developed our own wedding breakfast menu, which was influenced and made by the very talented resident head chef. Our guests loved the food – from the canapés, wedding breakfast and evening buffet. It was all well presented and simply delicious!Our wedding day was without doubt the best day of our lives – and a large part of that is due to the amazing wedding venue and fantastic team at the Sadler building. You all looked after our guests and ourselves so well – we cannot thank you enough!We recommend the Sadler building to any couple planning their perfect day. Julien and his team will be able to guide you through the many options available at the Sadler building to have the wedding that you have always dreamed of.
