Wonderful unexpected find in a part of Cumbria that is beautiful but with fewer tea/coffee shops than further westwards. The coffee van was as pretty as a country fair stall, right on Langwathby village green. Excellent coffee, and we took away our sausage bap for lunch up at Long Meg stone circle. Cheerful and friendly service, and much needed toilets available adjacent in village hall (this lovely area is a public toilet desert and I don't do hedgerows)

On a family visit to Penrith my cousin Pam promised us a surprise visit to what she described as the best brekky in the area. She wasn't wrong. The trailer sits on the green at Langwathby with a few chairs outside for customers. Although the menu is very simple - bacon or Cumberland sausage in a roll - it is beautifully cooked, locally made and cured. Coffee is great too and I'm told the hot chocolate is excellent. Also on offer is a range of delicious home made cakes which we sampled some hours after the breakfast had settled. Yum! Throw into the mix a sound track of vintage pop music, and the witty banter of Nick, the proprietor, you have a uniquely quirky breakfast experience. Well worth the trip. Loved it!

Most amazing set up on the village green. Coffee and food van serving excellent Cumberland sausage baps, batista coffee's and hot chocolate and the most amazing cakes. Doesn't stop there, seating available with tables and flower display. Very friendly owner. Recommended as a must to try if you are in this area.

Had a number of visits to Saddleback's over recent weeks. Always a superb coffee and the homemade cakes are delicious. Always had a warm welcome from Nick. The vibe with people sitting on the green having a chat with excellent background music is great. Would highly recommend a visit.

I was attending a day of mindfulness at the village hall and had taken a flask and food but was delighted to find this gorgeous coffee van selling amazing coffee and cakes and playing great music. The atmosphere was amazing with people turning up with chairs for coffee and a chat. A magical experience in a gorgeous setting.

What a fab little coffee stop. My friends and I were cycling in the area and needed a little refreshment. So glad we stopped here. Amazing coffee and cake and such a warm welcome from the owner.

No thanks to Covid 19, this was our first visit to see relatives in Cumbria for well over a year. Give that the sun was shining and we wanted to sit in the open air, the pop-up cafe on the village green seemed the ideal solution. Admittedly the seats were also pop-up and the 'tables' were up-turned crates but there was nothing rough and ready about the catering. The four of us enjoyed combinations of sweet potato and coriander soup, and bacon and Cumberland sausage butties. All were first rate; there is nothing to beat a generous serving of dry-cured bacon in a soft bread butty. One of us fancied some cake (all home-made). When she returned with a blueberry and white chocolate chip spongecake, the sight was irresistable, and we returned to order three more. Added to this the barista-made coffee was excellent. Do pop-along and sample these first class offerings when you are near Langwathby.

On the way home after visiting Long Meg stone circle my wife and I stopped and decided to try out what looked to be a very popular coffee van on the green at Langwathby. We were not disappointed. We both had what was one of the best coffees we had ever had not to mention the quality home cured bacon roll and Cumberland sausage roll we had to go with it. I thought the prices to be very good value also. The whole experience made an already fantastic day even better and I look forward to going back soon.

This place is a must visit when in the area. The coffee is fantastic, the food looks lovely too although I’ve yet to sample any. This place has brought a lovely feel to the village, where old and young meet, families, friends and strangers have a catch up. Just lovely.

Visited Saddleback’s on several occasions in the last few weeks, the lovely man uses local bacon with bread rolls from a very high quality baker and they are just fantastic. Not mentioning the home made cake collection which usually changes on a daily basis are all second to none, haven’t tried the sausage yet but I’m sure I will do in the near future. He also uses local coffee, excellent fayre and always with a smile.

Homemade cakes, locally sourced bacon and sausage butties and fabulous coffee! I've been meeting with my friends regularly during lockdown and its been brilliant! To start with we brought our own chairs but now its all sophisticated with chairs, crate tables and even a gazebo...

It has been great to have Saddlebacks on the green most days during the pandemic. It will have helped them to keep the business going but has been great for us too as we have been able to enjoy great coffee and wonderful cakes in a safe environment. Let’s just hope that once his usual business starts to get back to normal he doesn’t forget us.
