Had a family meal on 25th August there was 13 of us service superb we all got starters and meal at the same time all the staff really friendly would definitely recommend them

Very clean restraunt greeted by friendly staff . Food was freshly cooked I had the lamb balti massala was delicious. Will visit again

It’s alright, seems to be a problem with ordering mango chutney though. it happened twice that there was a mistake with either not putting any in the bag or only sending one pot when I asked for two for takeaways…

Such a shame as right in the centre of a lovely village, expecting a lot more. Overall what can I honestly say - except rude staff and bland food. We were all women dining and all agreed we felt almost like we were being treated as second class citizens! Lots of handshaking/back patting and attention for other tables where men were present, but for us disinterested staff, unhelpful and sighing when we asked for anything. Food (if you can call it that), pretty much thrown down on the table and tasted bland. Absolutely disgusting. Never again and would never recommend, an embarrassment to Gatley.

Really nice food and excellent service

Loved the buffet. Good choices of starter and decent mains. All pretty mild though, but that suited other in our party as they don't do spicy so had a wider choice as a result. Service was as friendly as ever. Also eat her in the evenings and it is our preferred Indian and the prices aren't too bad and the food is nice. Portions are large too, so you can end up with takeaway too! There have been mistakes made a couple of times, but they bend over backwards to rectify them.

Didn’t explain the 50% off the food offer and had an appalling attitude when asked why we had to pay full price. When we asked to explain why we had to pay full amount one of the staff walk away and went to speak to another customer. Clearly just wanted our money and had no time for us, we have visited the restaurant a few times but won’t be returning. Food wasn’t fantastic however would have returned if staff was more helpful

We really enjoyed the menu service which was brilliant they could not do enough for us we will definitely be going again

I had the chicken tikka byriani. Only ate half as the rice was undercooked. This lead to me being sick and unwell within 5 hrs of eating at this establishment. It's a shame as I've been before and had a good experience. Won't be coming again.

Ordered chicken madras but received a plate of very bland food that could've easily passed for a tin of tomato soup in a blind taste test.

Lived in Gatley all my life and never been here until now! Highly recommend, lovely food and service.

Food was nice staff friendly but was rushed to eat our food bringing your meal out while still eating your starter and then while eating your meal clearing up dishes from table . This is the second time we have had this experience .

The best Indian restaurant around this area. It's been a favourite of ours since it was The Curry Queen many years ago and then changed name to Sadagar. The onion bjajis are always nice and crispy and slighty moist in the centre with subtle flavours of coriander and delicate spices. The Chicken tikka Karahi is outstanding. Full of rich flavours and spices perfectly accompanied by a fragrant pilau rice. We are so pleased this great restaurant has been around all this time and hope for many years to come.

Food and staff excellent 👌 very very quiet when we went mind you it was a Tuesday but we were celebrating a birthday and were treated very well

Food was OK but not up to highest standards. Flavours were a little flat for our taste. It's not about having more or less chilli, but other spices should add to the overall flavour and this was not the case.

I've not been to this restaurant for many years, but some friends recently recommended we should go. I have to say, this was a really enjoyable meal. The tandoori king prawns were cooked so well. Firm, juicy, and full of flavour. My main lamb dish was a new addition, but I can't recall the name. The lamb was tender and yet not over-cooked. Our table of 6 had a great dining experience, and everyone was impressed with the quality from the kitchen. With polite and helpful service - this was certainly a very good dining experience and a restaurant I will definitely revisit.

New years eve absolutely packed waited around 20 mins to grab a table but we'll worth the wait. Food was unbelievable, service quick even got a gift at the end. Lovely people brilliant restaurant.

Very good food. Service very good but was a busy night so slightly slower than perhaps it might have been. Being busy, there was plenty of atmosphere.

Delivery driver was an absolute prick

Been here a few times over the years but first visit since 2020. A very traditional restaurant that has had a much needed make over; including finally updating the toilets. Draught Cobra is always welcome. They currently offer half price food from 5 pm to 6.30pm Monday to Thursday. Jorvic really enjoyed the food. All the classic dishes. Had very fresh poppadums with a generous pickle tray. Tasty lamb tikka and chilli chicken. Two good mains with one pilau rice and one naan. This food plus 4 pints less than £50. Food much improved from last visit. Will be back. They also do a good trade in take away, the phone constantly rings.

Lovely food great friendly staff

Ordered a take away for the first time in ages and to say it was disappointing is an understatement. The food was poor and the sauce was watery and way too sweet, the meat was precooked and rubbery. I ordered a Korma and a Tikka. Sorry but I don't want to chance it again.

Been here many times ordered from here alot from same address for years and today they can't deliver here anymore took my money and can't do a refund manager was very rude and put phone down this was my favourite place for my korma very unprofessional I ordered off there website

Never again. Ordered food at 6.45 > ended up going else where after almost 2hours of waiting. Managers attitude is a joke. Lies about delivery times made me look stupid in front of guests. Sad guys

Look, it’s undeniably wonderful food and that’s reason enough to go but the service and presentation is on another level. I came here with my mum who’s going through radiotherapy and is really off her food. She relished every morsel from this place and what she couldn’t eat demanded it be wrapped up as a takeaway. The way the guys looked after us was touching and we will always be grateful. I really loved the ‘theatre’ with the way food was presented at the table with sizzle. Top marks with distinction !

Just got home from this lovely restaurant. Can't fault it. The food was delicious and well cooked. Lovely staff and a very nice interior. We were also given free shots of baileys after our meal.

Meal was fine. Bill came and was completely wrong. Added extra poppadoms on and extra pilau rice. When we queried it they supposedly corrected it but total was still the same. Apparently they missed a drink we ordered.(NOT). We left cash on table which they took then came back saying g £20 short. Please check your bill and count out cash in front of them. Will not be going back even though been going for years

Mr Mia is the most attentive host ever, I’ve been going here for over 30 years and the service has always been 2nd to none

First time eating at Sandagar in Cheadle, will be going again soon food was excellent.

Recently refurbished and looks great. Good service. Food let it down. We had the Sunday buffet, a few people at the buffet so we waited for space then discovered there was nothing left. We had to wait for more starters and rice to come out which took a while. Curries were almost depleted too so we again had to wait for refills and it was nothing special. Bland, dry meat. I wouldn't recommend the buffet but cannot comment on the main menu.

Just ordered very nice but when on arrival he just left my food and walked out didn't even bother finding the correct flat number .

I always order from here love the food but they always get my order wrong and am spending 60 pound a time just a let down

We use this place’s regularly and have done for many years, service and food usually good. Today’s takeaway sides were as per usual but chicken garlic balti was watery, tasteless, disappointing basically chicken in a thin watery insubstantial soup. Other main OK but promised a spicy sauce which turned out to be ‘mild’ - chicken was nice!

Only thing wrong was that the rice was charged separately from a curry which we found quite strange.usually its included with the curry dish

Our first time here for many yers and didn't really know what to expect. We knew the restaurant had been refurbished to a very high standard and is very bright and modern. The food was excellent, very good portions and totslly authentic. Service was also very good, friendly and helpful. Will definitely return.

Took a long time for starter to arrive ,waiter was unfriendly and felt rushed. Most people were given a free Bailey's after their meal but I wasn't offered any that's unfair!!

Warm can of coke. And never seen a soup curry untill then!! Not surprised!! Rude Bengali waiter. If they let me cook a few Currys. Their business would boost up. And not just on a eat all on a Sunday service!!

Horrible food, better designed for non Asians

Over the last few years we have become regular visitors to Sadagar. As ever last Friday the food was excellent - tasty and well priced. However, we witnessed a new addition to the Friday night experience. A charming young woman and her accompanying guitarist provided great entertainment. Not loud or intrusive but well performed, timeless, classics. 5/5 for the food 5/5 for the entertainment

I have not been for a while never had a bad meal but tonight was terrible 1st course cold 2nd course food had a lot of oil on pates and main course came in a frying pan!! i am not even going to discuss the popadoms sorry

Rubbish delivery experience. Ordered on yo-yo website and no confirmation email, so rang a while later and staff not bothered at all and said website wasn’t working. Reordered on justeat. Order then arrived missing items and restaurant not bothered or apologetic. Other food fairly cold. Nan breads tough and clearly made long ago.

Went here Christmas Day after being let down in another curry house in gatly, after explaining to the Management they said they will find us a table without even a booking reservation has There was 12 in our party and we fully enjoyed the food and the staff were very helpful and friendly, will be definitely willbe going here again.

As always fantastic night. The host treat you like family have done from the very beginning. Can't fault them the service, servers, cooks and owner, do a brilliant job. 👌 there's no place I'd rather go. ❤ just to point out that's my 18year old twin son. And he enjoyed every minute. And left fuller than ever before.

Had a takeaway a few months ago it was lovely , but went in for a sit down the meals was disappointing small portions ,rice,curry sauce, and some of the meals was on luke warm side but the meals was tasty there was 7 of us lovely man who owned it

The staff are very friendly, food was delicious. It was very friendly atmosphere, very clean and the service was super fast.

We went as a large group, all experienced curry diners, and we had a variety of curries, all excellent. Some Balti, some Bangladeshi, some Tandoori, and everyone agreed that they were very good. Service was superb and efficient. We didn't have to wait for initial poppadum service to begin. The starters arrived not long after ordering. When dining in large groups it is frustrating when dishes arrive at intervals, but all our curries were served simultaneously, as were our starters. Great evening, super curries. Prices reasonable as well. Yep, top curry house.

Recooked chips is just disrespectful

Ordered food nearly £35 for a takeaway Got a mixed starter spat the shish kebab into the bin Ordered a lamb jalfrezi with a rogan josh for my wife and daughter Guess what ? They are both on the kitchen side hardly touched Not good at all

Really disappointed in the food it was not nice at all when compaint was made the waiter didn't care as he just wanted the money for currys that didn't get ate. We will not be returning

AVOID at all costs! The prices on the receipt do not reflect the prices on the menu. CHECK your receipts. The staff are incredibly rude and only after your money. The food was tasteless and not up to scratch. This place has gone downhill can honestly say I will Never ever return. Take your custom to the two others down the road. Much better. I never leave reviews, however this was totally justified. If I could leave a 0 I would.

Placed an order online. 35mins late. We've eaten in the restaurant many times and been happy but our delivery was disgusting! Orders chicken bhuna tasted nothing like and another curry. We won't be returning.

Called in last Saturday around 930. We was absolutely starving as had been on a long journey. Greeted fantastically by the manager and was served nicely and professionally by the staff. Food arrived in good time and certainly didn’t disappoint and was very tasty with a couple of extra sauces served on the house. Very clean seating area and the manager popping over and casually chatting was very welcome. We will call again

Been eating and having takeaways for years must say we was so disappointed in the food chicken tikka massala was like dish water not the normal thick and creamy onion bajhi was burnt and dry think you need to change you're chef won't be buying or visiting you again till you do and need to learn you're staff to add up overcharged by 4 pounds

6 of us booked a table. Food was so disappointing. We asked for a selection of starters, we got chicken nuggets, onion bhajis, tandoori chicken and sheek kebabs -Tasteless. We ordered a selection of mains plus one vegan. Vegan had cheese and butter. Was sent back twice. Now of the food ordered was correct. Basically the staff didn’t listen to anything. Assumption we would just make do which was extremely disappointing. Not vegan friendly, they clearly don’t know the difference between vegetarian and vegan! Expensive for such a disappointing meal. Will not be returning

Brilliant restaurant. We have been going for years. The staff are brilliant and the food is great. The prices have crept up recently but its still definitely worth a visit

This place should be a 3.5 but can't as only full stars. Above average restaurant with below average prices. In the village of Gatley it has stiff competition but give it a go. Staff are so friendly you feel like a regular each visit, I've been 3 times only, will go again I'm certain. Portion sizes are more than enough and their lamb dishes are excellent. So close to a 4 but I score in honesty and above a 3 in my eyes is always worth a try!
