Sacred Orchard in Cheshire East

We chose Sacred Orchard mainly to take advantage of the Meerkat Meals offer. On arrival, I recognised the location and realised we'd eaten there a very long time ago. Anyway, this visit was very good. The service and food were excellent, and the prices were ok too, even without the Meerkat discount. We've added Sacred Orchard to our list of good places to eat.

We were drawn into visiting by a through the door flyer that suggested that the new beef pie (created by Great British Menu winner Tom Shepherd) was the best pub pie - and it really is! Well done team for the excellent execution on this- so good that I insisted on foregoing the discount offer out of respect for the quality. We had no problem getting a table it being 5.30 when we arrived and very quiet - just a hint that a bit more checking the waiting area would have saved us 5 minutes waiting to be welcomed otherwise lovely service- thanks guys.

The usual excellent service, starting with a warm greeting from Lisa, Olly & the team on arrival, food was piping hot & of great quality, a really friendly, efficient team that it is always a pleasure to meet!! Nothing is to much trouble for them, (I wish I had employees of that caliber when I was managing a large production unit before retirement )

It was once a very good pub restaurant at competitive prices and was usually very busy at pretty much any time of the day not so today when we were there in fact there were very few people dining. This may be due to the changes of the menu’s, and from our experience today, not for the better, a very expensive steak and Malbec pie that was not anywhere near the quality the price would suggest it should have been. It also took a long time for our lunch to be served, when we asked the bar staff how much longer it would be, we were told that they had only taken the order 10 minutes ago, which I don’t think was true, it certainly seemed much longer. And then to be told that ‘the industry average for serving a meal’ was 20 minutes we thought to be a little bit rude and not that you expect from any food outlet. Until today we had previously enjoyed many meals in what was once a very popular eating establishment but does not appear to be so now. Our experience would be very high priced and quantity rather than quality.

Visited today (April 20th). Food was great and served quickly, staff very friendly, helpful and pleasant. Eaten here many times (with my dog). Always enjoy our visit. Give it try, highly recommend. Try 1664 Blanc with the citrus taste. Nice drink. Thank you all.

Love this place, lovely food. The staff are attentive and conscientious. It's not the cheapest, but for me, it's worth it.

We were welcomed on arrival. Attentive staff did not keep us waiting. I had the chicken ham hock and leek pie, my husband had the chef special beef pie. Both were delicious! Even though we don't have a dog, I loved seeing the 'waggy tails welcome' sign! Very smart, new establishment. Toilets were really nice and very clean. What more could you ask for?

We only went along because we had a voucher but we were blown away by the friendly service and the quality of the food. Your staff members are a credit to you, they are friendly and polite and couldn’t do enough for us. 10/10

Went for a nice walk from the main road with it being a nice day, thought i would pop in for a lemonade. Seems a nice place, food looked and smelt nice. The small girl on the till that was working around 13.30 on 2/April was very friendly and gave good banter.

Service was fine as it was quiet at the time, only negative comment would be that the steak and malbec pie had very little steak in it.

Bang average food. Pie was good, tricolour green vegetables (more grey than green) zero love in the roast carrots no colour or seasoning, which just looked inedible. The mash potato was void of milk/cream or any love. Fairly good service. Very prompt and welcoming.

Went for a family lunch - 4 very senior citizens and 2 50+ adults. Due to the challenges we face going out due to mobility etc. we booked a specific table. Turned up, table was ready just as we’d requested and we were seated. All the staff were excellent, service was great and we were made to feel welcomed and that nothing was too much trouble. Let’s be honest, the pub is a signature pub in a chain. They aren’t Michelin star they are a chain pub but we were all impressed which isn’t each with 6 picky people. Good was tasty, hot and looked appealing. As mentioned staff were great. Not our first visit and we’ve all said we’re happy to make this our go to pub for future get togethers. The pub is light, bright, inviting, great car park and overall a lovely experience. If you want a bistro experience this isn’t the place for you. If you want good tasty food with great staff in a nice environment give it a try!

I went with my mum and nan on 28th Feb 2025. The staff greeted us and promptly showed us to an unreserved table. A young-looking girl took our drinks order within a minute of us sitting down. She asked me for ID, seemingly unaware of the law that allows an under-18 to have an alcoholic drink with a meal if accompanied by their parents. Moving on, the waiter was very accommodating to my nan’s request for no pepper due to allergies. We ordered a medium steak, Hunter’s chicken, and scampi, which arrived in about 20 minutes. After finishing our meal, we sat waiting for half an hour for the dishes to be cleared and for dessert menus to be brought over. Eventually, I went up to order desserts and another round of drinks. The drinks arrived fairly quickly, and the dessert menus followed shortly after. However, we waited again for someone to take our dessert order, but nobody came. In the end, I went to the bar to order again. About half an hour later, we decided to cancel, and the waiter mentioned that they had only just started making the desserts, saying he would see what he could do. When it came time to pay, the server came over, loudly announced the total so the entire restaurant could hear, and seemed frustrated when I asked for a VAT receipt. Unfortunately, we won’t be in a rush to return, as this used to be a great restaurant.

Staff are very courteous, helpful & personable. Food is good, not brilliant but not poor-just good &, with discount offers, good value. Drink choice is very good.

Food quite expensive for the quality. Had a fillet steak,mini pie combo but the steak was fatty and chewy not worth the money

Great premises awful food, such a shame that the food is not good as we had high expectations as the premises looks very impressive. £5.99 for tomato soup and it was awful, cold with a thick layer of oil on the top, a little drizzle is plenty. Sickening after a few spoons of the oily soup and it went down from there on. Grease and more grease, poorly presented and cold main meal was more than enough for me.

The food was average and was expensive. I felt that the staff were friendly enough, but it was not worth the money for the experience.

Let me start with the good points. Loads of parking, pub had a nice vibe / feel. Place looked clean. Staff were pleasant and dog friendly!!. Really looking forward to this experience. However…… The wait time for mains was about 40/50 mins. One of us ordered from set menu / tomato and basil soup was cold , watered down and oily - it was priced at £6.99 not cheap. , I’m like is this gazpacho???, made one of us feel nauseous all day long. Fish and chips were greasy and I could count the number of chips on one hand. Presentation poor. It just wasn’t a good food experience. In the end we walked out without waiting for the dessert- I just couldn’t face any more kitchen surprises. It’s just such a shame that a franchise with all the core points in place cannot cook a decent meal. Why???? The problem was we had a day of dog walking etc planned and after the horrendous wait time and poor food it absolutely ruined the day for us that we had to cut short after feeling poorly. This should never happen to customers. Please sort the food out …. And we will return gladly!

My partner and I visit the Sacred often, we were very excited to try the new menu, I had the lamb rump with the mini pie, WOW what an addition and my partner had the seabass and...

Really kind staff who couldn’t do enough to help my daughter with gluten free menu. Went above and beyond to arrange an adults meal to kids size because of her intolerance. Nice food and good drinks. Will return as fab for families.

Had a great spot of lunch here today, with my husband and two children. The children had colouring and there was also books and boardgames available on the bar, which was a nice touch. The pub was busy, as you'd expect for half term, we were glad that we had booked ahead and could be seated straight away (although we were told that you can just come along without a booking.) Food was delicious, the new menu was great and offered something slightly different and more upmarket than most chain pubs we have visited lately, and the service was great, as it has always been in the past.

So 2 steak served barely warm over done burger and nuggets then when I got my steak reheated it came bk dry as it had just been threw in mircowave, but it gets worse underneath my tomato was a burnt piece of bacon, now that was a issue for 2 reason there was no bacon with this dish and what if my religion didn't allow me to eat bacon, the chap who served us was nice enough and told us this has happened before

Ridiculously expensive. £5.15 for wainwrights. £6.05 for san Miguel. £4 for the attached photo of garlic bread. Which was very greasy with oil.

From a warm welcome, as we entered. To everything about the service, was spot on. The food was A-M-A-Z-I-N-G! We are NEVER disappointed! This is not our first visit and definitely won't be our last. Thank you

Found this pub on the way to Wales. Good parking, nice welcome. Food option menus offered and shown by staff. Good range of beers and drinks. Food was cooked fresh and delicious with good service. We would return if on a route west from the Midlands.

Overall it was excellent, we were greeted at the door by a member of the team and shown to our table. They returned a short time later to order drinks and upon bringing them we were ready to order food. We were asked if anyone had any allergies that they should be aware of and we confirmed none. We then ordered starters and a main course each. The food arrived promptly and was of good portions and delicious. We were asked if it was all ok. When we had finished the plates were cleared away and we were asked if we wanted our main dishes now or wait a few minutes which was a nice touch not to feel rushed. The main dishes arrived and again were generous portions clearly freshly cooked, not been sitting under heat lamps and as with the starters delicious. We were again asked if all was OK which it was. We finished our meal, no space for desserts unfortunately. The ambiance was lovely, spotlessly clean including the toilets and the team were polite professional and friendly. Will definitely be back!

Brilliant service as always. We visited due to the new menu change. I had the Hunters chicken schnitzel and it was fab. My partner had the lasagna. The new garlic bread was to die for. A return visit is on the cards.

We had a fantastic time at this pub last night! The atmosphere was incredibly friendly and welcoming from the moment we walked in. The staff were all really lovely, making sure we had everything we needed. The food was delicious—definitely worth the visit. What stood out the most was how well they catered to families. Our kids had an amazing time with the selection of games they provided, which kept them entertained throughout the evening. Overall, it was a great experience, and we’ll definitely be coming back! Highly recommend for a family-friendly night out.

The Sacred Orchard staff work hard to ensure an excellent dining experience. They are friendly and attentive and very professional. It was a quiet night in the dining area but we still received just the right amount of service with people on hand when needed without being fussed over.

On arrival we were greated promptly and shown to our table which was in a lovely quiet area. The service we received throughout our visit was exceptional and exceeded our expectations. Unfortunately I did not get the name of our server but I can safely say that I eat out every week and his was the friendliest and best service I have received in a long time. The food was also of a higher standard than we have experienced in other pubs in the same chain and again exceeded our expectations. We will definitely return and are already looking forward to our next visit.

Problems with food from the charcoal grill, think it may have needed cleaning. That's an observation NOT a criticism. Staff were brilliant & very hard working.

We were meeting friends who were visiting from Australia, and haven't seen since 2020. We had privacy to chat and catch up on the ,ast 5 years. It was a great experience for us all. The 30% was an added bonus too

Amazing service and all had a lovely time. We had the gold buffet option and everyone loved the food, such good choices and there was something for everyone.

A lovely Christmas Day meal in comfortable surroundings and excellent service from the staff. Quality of the food was really good with nice moist turkey and plenty of it. We were quite late booking our Christmas dinner and were very pleased that we were able to get into the Sacred Orchard. We're very glad we did!

The Sacred is one our favourite of the area. The layout is warm and friendly giving you the feeling of relaxation away from the busy world. The staff are extremely welcoming, friendly and don't mind using names which is nice and friendly. The food is fantastic, varied and a good price.

Came with a group of ladies just over a week ago, food was delicious, I have the skewers and crumble, crumble was a little burnt ontop but I scraped it off... 😂 Servers were attentive without being in your face which is nice especially when your all having a catch up. Will be back 😊

Went for breakfast with "Santa"....it was okay, for very small children.

Bit pricey but food was good. Service was great and friendly. Got the impression all the food was pre prepared and not fresh.

I visited The Secred Orchard on Monday evening with my sister. We both had the Plant Burger and I can honestly say that it was absolutely delicious and that we both thoroughly enjoyed it! We also had a dessert each, my sister had the fruit crumble and I had the sticky toffee pudding both were again delicious 😋. I can thoroughly recommend these choices and we can't wait to return. The lady that served us was lovely and nothing was too much trouble for her.

I had a festive meal with a large group of friends. The food was excellent, the service was excellent and every member of staff was very friendly and professional. The food was really good and the Christmas pudding was the best that I have ever had at a restaurant! I highly recommend eating and drinking here. I will definitely be back.

My husband & I really enjoyed our evening. The staff are very kind and accommodating. We had a job deciding on our meal. My fish & chips was huge & beautifully prepared. I'm a lover of pasta, perhaps in the near future?? Kindest Regards Christie. There is such a huge choice of dishes, all sounding very yummy. We're looking forward to returning.

Excellent service and a well cooked meal for my husband and myself. Good selection on the gluten free menu and staff and kitchen experienced in serving and preparing safe gluten food for coeliacs.

I love coming to the sacred orchard, it's local , staff are very friendly, food is always to a High standard , place is warm and inviting , there's plenty to choose from of the menu , we tried Sunday dinner pork for the first time was absolutely delicious alot of meat very filling no room for dessert ,I also like the fact dogs are welcome , booking is easy also I booked literally 10mins before we arrived. Carnt improve on perfection just keep doing what ur doing .thank you

Lunch with my daughter on a Saturday. Mediocre burger and chips. Steak and ale pie. Pie was microwaved, very soggy, not helped by 2 fried halve carrots that were inedible on top! The pie was tasty enough, some lumps of fat. The mashed potato tasted like it had been made several hours previously. Peas, mange tout and green beans all cooked together, disgusting taste!! Gravy was tasty enough but far too thick. Garlic bread was just a bread bun with some garlicky cheese thrown on top. Very disappointing. Such a shame, have had several very good meals before.

Pleasant atmosphere and sound levels allowed the 4 of us to chat without shouting. Meal satisfactory, but battered cauliflower overcooked. Staff well trained and helpful.

Popped in on the off chance of getting a table of 6 with a dog, James and the team couldn't of been more helpful getting us a table sorted in the bar area, our food came quickly and was hot and delicious, I had the fish and chips was a perfect portion size.

Called in on a Monday evening and decided we will have fish and chips the photos show the meal we were served for the price paid we really weren’t impressed at the food served not only did it have black burnt bits on it it was dried out from I can assume was from the method used to keep the food warm. The portions size was poor and the mushy peas was a scant tablespoon! We were looking for a suitable place to take 6 friends out for an meal if they can’t get it right on a slow Monday evening for two meals serving a table of 6 - 8 at a busy time doesn’t bear to think about! The Ev point outside is out of contract and hasn’t been paid/renewed with the company so NO EV Charging… very disappointed visit all round. Nobody to raise this with at the time so I couldn’t raise our disappointment and concerns.
