Always friendly and fantastic service, food always delicious and authentic. Two set meal options (for two people), great value for money.

From walking in to leaving the food, service and atmosphere was first class. The front of house staff were fantastic which really completed the night there. Great menu, very reasonable prices too. Expect a service charge which is around the 10% mark. All in all I was really very satisfied. Well worth a visit for great food and service.

We booked a table for restaurant week in January. After pickles and poppadoms and a pre starter, I ordered the gunpowder monkfish to start and the prawn curry. Both were delicious with just the right amount of spice. Fantastic, friendly service from Balbir, who made the night fun, enjoyable and memorable.

The food was really delicious. The staff were very helpful especially helping my elderly mother . We would thoroughly recommend the restaurant.

I asked for them to make us the mildest curry possible because I’m not a fan of spicy food. The curry blew my head off and I was told ‘that’s just Indian food’. I paid £80 (including an £8 service charge that was just added to the bill when the service I received was terrible) just to leave the restaurant hungry with a blaze of fire in my mouth.

Staff fine , but food dry ,absolutely nothing special and surprise £8 service charge.

I went to the restaurant week ago it was beautiful , I went in and it was amazing , painting and colours were gorgeous, I went in with Bobby singh and the manager Shelly made me very welcome and even joked we had the same names , the food was out of this world I had butter chicken , onion bhajis , mint and chuntney mango sauces , lovely bottle red wine , I definitely come again , I bring female friends , beautiful staff x

A great Christmas night out for our department. Great food, atmosphere, and having a round table allowed us to all chat, which is something you don't always get. I would definitely go back. Singhsational was our waiter and was fantastic too. Really good service from him and great humour too. Best naan, I have ever had.

We booked this restaurant for a catch up with friends for the Christmas period 3 weeks in advance and we were greeted downstairs by the bar staff. They said they were waiting for a table to become available downstairs “where the atmosphere is” then to be taken upstairs to the attic like an old ornament. When ordering our food after 20 minutes wait, the server didn’t know what anything was on the menu and had to go downstairs to ask. When the food came out the server didn’t have a clue which meal was which and mixed them all up. After the meal the waiter pleaded that he was “singhsational” and to give him a good review when in reality he did not have a clue what a curry was. He didn’t know the difference between chicken and lamb.

What a meal. The food was the best we have ever had. Service absolutely brilliant attentive but not on top of you. I was a special meal for my wife graduation. To end the night a really appreciated drink on the house for her achievement. Simply a special night. Thank you. Ps we had the set meal for 2 around the world beautiful

We hadn't been to Sachins in years, and it has only improved. We had fantastic food, and amazingly friendly service tonight. We'll be going back again soon. And a shout out to Sing-Sational, thanks for a super fun night!

Tucked behind Newcastle Train Station is the Kohinoor of the Noth East. Sachins is without contest the best Punjabi/Indian restaurant for miles around. Care is woven into every element of their experience. Their restaurant stylish, bathrooms flawless, service exceptional and food out of this world. The staff go above and beyond. Shall and Mr Singh put their all into crafting an unforgettable experience. This is our third time here, here's to many more!!

Excellent evening at Sachins. I'd wanted to eat here for a while so booked for a few office colleagues on a Wednesday evening. The food was delicious and the service was great. Singhsational and his colleagues were very welcoming and entertaining! Highly recommended, we will be back again for sure!

Great night had by all. Restaurant was busy and atmosphere was good, for a Wednesday evening. The drink and food orders were taken promptly and the head waiter was very informative with many recommendations given. The pickles and starters were delicious. All main courses were suitably served hot on nice hot plates 👍🏼and cooked well. Maybe lacking a tiny touch of seasoning, S&P and none available on the tables for personal preference. However this did not terribly detract from the flavour variations across all dishes. The meal overall was very, very good, ample and the peshwari nan bread simply divine. The service throughout was incredibly friendly and fun. "Singh Sational" a right character and helped make the birthday night treat even more enjoyable. Thanks all we'll be back sooner rather than later.

I visited today for dinner with my friends. As an Indian customer, this is the cheapest quality of chicken I ever tasted. Waste of money to visit this restaurant..

Absolutely gorgeous authentic Indian food, friendly service by Singhsational and great decor. Portion sizes of food was generous and probably the best lamb dish I ever had in a Indian restaurant, so if you like lamb curry I highly recommend the Lamb Tari Wala.

Lovely place , my wife booked a table for 7 people , 3 meat eaters and 4 vegetarians , the service from once we entered the door was fantastic , as you do getting a photo taken normally one person misses out , not this enter the singhsanstionl 😂thanks , the food was delicious and very tasty , with the service of the staff friendly and polite who looked rushed off there feet at times , and to top it off I got a cake with a candle and all sang happy birthday thanks bob and team 👏👏👏

Went for a meal with my husband as we were visiting Newcastle to see a couple of gigs. We have to be careful eating out as my husband is gluten intolerant. On our informing the waiter of this every effort was made to accommodate. They even made him a gluten free Nan bread. Waiter was very informed about what came from the kitchen and what meals my husband could order. In addition to this the food was amazing. Best curry I’ve had in a very long time..

I used to visit when I lived in Newcastle over 25 years ago when it was known as a fine dining restaurant. We ate there on Friday evening as part of a weekend in town as part of our 25th wedding anniversary celebrations. What a fabulous place it is now. Friendly owners and staff. Made very welcome and given the VIP treatment. It was fun and the food was fantastic. Thank you for making our evening special and we will be back when we are in town again

My husband and I went to Sachins for our anniversary meal. The food was delicious and the staff were friendly, particularly Singh. It was a nice touch when he presented us with a candle-lit slice of cake. We'll certainly visit again!

First time of going but would definitely go back, very friendly atmosphere staff very accommodating, food to die for, drinks a bit expensive but the food makes up for that. Place clean and tidy would highly recommend.

Wow! What a gem of a restaurant. Night stop over in Newcastle for work and I asked the hotel concierge if there was a decent tandoori nearby. He advised me that 'Sachins' was a couple of minutes walk away. Absolutely beautiful food, well spiced but real depth of flavour and lovely folk running the restaurant. If you're in Newcastle and like a curry, look it up, doubt You'd be disappointed. Will definitely be back again :)

The food was really good and I had a pleasant experience. I must stress though, more than quarter of my bill was VAT and a service charge which I find a bit mental (£12.53, £48.20 total)That puts a pint of Cobra or Kingfisher at £8.40 a pint 😳 By the way, a service charge puts me off leaving a decent tip

I had to ask for a subscription to the sea bass starter! Had an amazing time here this evening, portions were of adequate amounts so there was no feeling overly full when we left. The staff were amazing and made us feel welcomed. Overall our visit exceeded our expectations and we will be looking to visit again. Perfect if you're in the city and staying at the Crowne Plaza.

Excellent banquet for two for Friday lunch (Sachins Tandoori platter was amazing and first time for a prawn curry here and they were cooked to perfection). First visit on a lunchtime and restaurant was very quiet and a lovely place to relax and chat over great food. My new favourite restaurant in Newcastle (third visit in last couple of months) and the go to place for amazing food. Great to have a bit of banter with Chef while we were there.

We had a large group eat here in June. All the staff were fantastic! So friendly and helpful. I'd like to give a special shout out to Balbir, he went above and beyond and added to the experience! The food was delicious, as were the drinks from the bar. If i was in town again, I'd eat here every day.

Ordered Tandoori goshat (lamb) and steamed rice. Rice was perfect and about 20% more than the usual serving size. The lamb had a delicious sauce- fresh ingredients (strips of ginger and onion in it), not liquidised sauce that tastes like out of a jar. Service ok and friendly staff. Decent decor so nice for an event. They add 10% service charge, which is not usual for curry houses in the region

The staff were very friendly, we hadn't booked but they still managed to fit in our group of 5 after a short wait maybe 10 minutes. The drinks ordered came very quickly after that, food ordered and was very hot and well presented. Special mention to our two waiters, especially Bob Singh

Really amazing service. Booked for myself and twelve friends and we were all delighted by the staff, food and atmosphere. Anticipated some level of reticence from the staff for a big group of rowdy goths but they didn't make it an issue. The food is to die for - I had the Murgh Korma which was extremely tasty and graciously not oversweet. I was also given a slice of absolutely indulgent chocolate cake with it being my birthday, and invited to request a song, which really made our day. All of my thanks must go to the pseudonymous Singh-sation for his hospitality. Price was reasonable, with all of us having multiple drinks, copious poppadoms, a main and a side at less than £40/head even after the service charge. Please put long island iced tea on the drinks menu, i wish to have one when i come back.

Singh Sational experience. First visited here over 20 years ago and was blown away with the quality of food, then again 10 years ago.. A group of 11 of us went last night as a special occasion and was not disappointed. There was Vegan options to cater for the awkward one in the group (myself), vegetarian options and a plethora of meat and fish dishes. Sometimes when you are at a restaurant with a large group of people the service can falter or mistakes made with food.. Not here.. All the staff were attentive, fantastic and just sheer brilliant. My Son had a great Birthday, made special by Sachins quality of food, atmosphere and amazing staff.. I cannot recommend this place enough... the price was very reasonable for for the quality of food and service.

Lovely restaurant located quite close to Newcastle train station. Staff were very welcoming & friendly & couldn't do enough. Also helpful with recommendations of dishes. The food itself was really tasty & the portion sizes were just right. Large selection of dishes & reasonably priced. Special mention has to go to Singh Sational (only because he asked for it) 🤣 Seriously though, can highly recommend this place. Give it a try 👍

I've updated my review from a year or so back. It was nice to see that this popular restaurant has has a breath of new life into it. They have redecorated to a good standard, nice relaxed atmosphere, decent tunes playing. The staff as always very polite, professional and sociable - gave advice on dishes and offered to alter spicyness to taste. The food was lovely, we opted for the banquet for two with added pickles and tried some different dishes to what we'd normally go for and enjoyed everything. The draught IPA was just right to wash it down with. Top marks - and hi to Singhsational - I'll stick this on TripAdvisor too just this once!

Recently redecorated with a bold and colourful plant themed scheme... Service was excellent and very good quality food - it's clear that the owners and staff are proud of their restaurant. More than happy to recommend. We'll be back soon 😎

We were staying next door at the Crowne Plazza and saw Sachin's as we were arriving at the hotel. We read the positive reviews in Google and decided to book a table which was handy as when we arrived there was a queue of walk ins waiting for tables. We were taken to our table and enjoyed the very positive atmosphere created by patrons and staff. The Punjabi food was superb, particularly the Lucknowi Tikka, the Lamb Tan Wala, and the Murgh Pasanda. The food was accompanied by Cobra lager and it was the perfect accompaniment. By the end of the meal we could see why Sachin's had received such positive reviews.

Can't visit Newcastle without getting a lucknowi Tikka from here. When they say spicy.......they mean it, so be careful. The 'formerly known Jalfrazy' is ridiculous 😅 so many interesting Dishes

Our second visit to Sachins from Scotland in just over a month. One of the reasons we returned was the amazing food and fabulous customer service from absolutely all staff, that made us feel like family. Was in Newcastle and after reading the reviews booked for myself and a colleague Booked in advance ( recommended as gets busy ) Lovely welcome and seated quickly I can't take much spice buy earned my brave girl badge last night Ordered korma, and was told it wasn't like normal korma and had a bit of a kick, but the said they would make it mild. Well it did have a kick, quite spicy My friend had tikka which was milder than mine To be fair the offered to make me a tikka in exchange, but as had already ate most of the chicken I politely declined We had poppadoms, pickle tray 1 korma ( hot lol ) 1 tikka ( lovely and not hot ) Pilau rice 2 nan 1 large wine 2 hot chocolates Service was fantastic, couldn't fault them. If you want genuine service these guys are highly recommended If you can't take anything spicy tell them Would happily return

I eat here almost every week while staying over with work and it has to be one of the best curry houses in the UK. Incredible food and the service is second to none. Would recommend to anyone no matter what the occasion. From the moment you walk in until you leave, the staff cannot do enough to make you feel welcome and looked after. First class 👏👏👏

Absolutely fantastic! The place is really nice, the staff are brilliant and the food is amazing. We were greated immediately on walking in and given a choice of tables straight away. As mentioned everyone was super friendly and helpful, dishes were offered to sample and tweaked to taste - a little milder/ a little more spicy as options if necessary. The staff are very attentive and made the whole experience the highlight of the last few days. I would highly recommend Sachins and will be coming back again when in town or celebrating again. Thanks to everyone there for an awesome meal.

It's a shame on Indian specially Punjabi cuisine. The malai kofta that we had was worst ever. My dinner was spoiled because it was no value for money. The chef and staff have not seen or had Malai kofta in their life so they tried to make fool of us by serving. green peas kachori in random curry.

This is not a Punjabi Restaurant . most of the Crew is from middle east 1 Punjabi guy on the bar. Don't know where the Chef is from but he is not Punjabi. I have no review for Food it was not acceptable . seem like frozen food microwaved before serving.

It's no secret that Sachins is our favourite restaurant. We visited last night with friends and each couple ordered the Gourmet meal for 2 small plates (taster) menu 😋 which on Thursdays includes a bottle of house wine. Everything was absolutely delicious and we experienced dishes that we would not usually order as part of this set menu. We would recommend Sachins on any day of the week but on a Thursday with the bottle of wine included it's even greater value for money. Thanks once again to Bob and his team for another excellent meal 😋

We went with a very large table and honestly the service was quicker and more efficient than what you’d expect for a table for two. Food was incredible, they even offered tasters of the sauces before we ordered mains, incredible service and really lovely vibes. Thanks 🙏🏻

Popular but issues with food quality and very expensive for alcohol. We asked for no coriander leaf in our food, a birthday celebration) but my dish (Sachins dhal) had it cooked in and so did the side of aloo ghobi. It put me off my food- I can’t stand the taste. I didn’t eat much and asked for the dhal to be removed from the bill. It wasn’t. Be careful here if you have food allergies. Also bundled in was a £25 service charge above the wine (also £25 per bottle) on the bill (shown only as SC) which we queried as it wasn’t clear what it was. I hope the service charge is shared with the staff as they must make £100s each night. The food was (chilli) hot- even the dhal- and not as tasty (in terms of tasting a range of spices). The rices were poor- we joked that the mushroom rice must have had one only mushroom in it cut into small pieces and the onion rice barely had onion in it either. My mother is from the Punjab and I grew up with Punjabi food- this was very disappointing. Finally. The service is very warm and friendly but slow

Nice restaurant with some different choices of dishes to the normal Indian restaurant. What we had was nice. Staff were friendly and attentive without being overpowering. Would go back.

Great Indian food. A regular stop when I go to Newcastle. Very noisy place, but that's the case in many other places.

Good tasting food but following a recent visit, I have just realised that the food hygiene rating has recently been rated only 2 star even though the stickers on the window say it is 5 star. I wouldn't have went if I'd known.

Exelent food, good sized portions and fair prices. Had a lovely meal at Sachins. Also kudos for barman Bobby, he's got a great sense of humour. We'll be back for sure!

Dreadful service. Waiting over an hour for food.

It was busy and they seemed panicked. Feels like they need more staff to take food orders. They include a service charge but the service isn’t great. The food comes quickly and is pretty good - like your local takeaway. The curries don’t have a lot of curry. The salmon starter was a bit dry. The chicken tikka was juicy.

Not great service, and my curry was so over loaded with salt it was nigh on inedible. Avoid the lamb murkahni.

Love Sachins! The food as usual did not disappoint. I had a delicious lamb dish which was described as mild spice, and thankfully it was. ( I'm a one step up from a Korma! ) Service was very good with the staff being polite and friendly. Bobby, our waiter was lovely, engaging and funny.

Went here for the first time last night for my partners and friends birthday, Lovely attentive staff the humour was great, food was fresh beautiful and delicious, when thay realised we where celebrating a birthday brought a slice of chocolate cake out really thoughtful, would highly recommend price very reasonable and we will definaly returning thank you.

Had dinner here with my girlfriend after a match. We have a feast and the food was great. We shared a tandoori platter and got paneer curry and a lamb curry with naan to share. Really really nice food and a warm and friendly welcome by our waiters. Bob and the team went above and beyond when I lost my wallet, which I was able to retrieve out of hours. Great Indian in Newcastle.and highly recommend.
