One of the best indians in years considering ive been going to induan restaurants sine the early 70's

Absolutely disgusting. 2 pieces of bone in 1 slice of Balti pizza. 14inch pizza, 2 garlic sauces, £20 cash, £1.50 tip for the driver and I've been able to eat less than 1 piece! I don't like leaving bad reviews, however, paid with cash on Uber so they can't do anything and the shop has the phone off the hook, I've tried 22 times to call them! Avoid for the simple reason if your food is rubbish.. they don't answer the phone because its constantly engaged!

So dissapointing , gone for years, orders wrong tandoori chicken like a sparrow leg, no customer service after they left a few things from order, never going again,

I ordered the Khan Special Pizza with stuffed crust and it was delicious. It was filled with so much flavour. The food was nice and hot as the delivery came just on time!! Would highly recommend!!

Overall disappointed. Spicy chicken wings ordered from the Indian starters so expected an Indian style…were 3 small ‘Kentucky’ style coated wings for £3.70..these should go on the backend of the menu where the pizzas etc are. Onion bhaji was cold. And chicken tikka vindaloo is not spicy. The food is fresh and delivery was speedy but will not order again.

The pizza was one of the best I’ve had in a while and I also their chips, which are proper thick cut. If you like your chips a little thinner I’d recommend getting the fries. The special chips were also pretty good but I could’ve done without the olives and it was also pretty greasy at the bottom of the container. Despite this they were still really nice and I’ll definitely be coming back to try more of the menu!

Having used the double diner for the last 1 year + at least twice a month and leaving multiple 5 star reviews on just eat/ recommending you to others, I was so disappointed with my last interaction that I feel the need to share my negative experience. I ordered food on 28th October via your website with delivery time noted as 45 minutes. After 1.40 hours I rang and was advised the order had left and was on the way, I rang back after 2.30 hours and was advised it would be with me very soon, being a very patient person and having already paid by card I waited over 3 hours then rang back, this time I was advised you would resend the order but I did not believe it would materialise at 11pm and frankly I had lost my appetite so I requested a refund. The refund took 2 phone calls to arrange . The service was horrendous, had you advised on my first phone call you were to busy to fulfil my order I would have happily ordered elsewhere and not left this review. Please stop accepting orders you cannot deal with as you lose long standing customers alongside your reputation.

Food’s been tasty and fantastic and up to scratch the numerous times I’ve ordered from here. 4 star for service because I’ve always had to collect but would really appreciate if you cover Wideopen area on Just Eat as I see other Jesmond takeouts deliver Wideopen

Service fine , food delivered fast 2 chicken tikka masalas ordered , both were bland and tasted of tomato sauce, not sure what they done with this dish , Probably without doubt the worst chicken tikka masala I’ve had so far , I’ve ordered loads from there and it’s normally ok , but this was disgusting

Great tasting chicken tikka pizza - the chicken balti tortilla roll was nice but oil from balti made the wrap soggy and unedible. The chunky chips were spot on 👍🏾 👌

Being an Indian guy and bought chicken biriyani from this place. Got it came back and tasted it … ohh my God Absolutely waste of time/ energy and money. No taste at all for the food. I bought two biriyani s and it’s gone in the Bin. You guys needs to close that shop or get some nice cheff please 🙏

The chicken tikka starter was full of old-fashioned red food colouring and far too much salt. The main course Ceylon dish had an over powering chilli taste, yellow food colouring and not much else. The prawns were not fit for a pizza never mind a curry. The naan bread was undercooked and when reheated had no oil in the bread but it was okay otferwise. The salad that came with the starter was put straight in the bin as the lettuce was old and heading towards soggy. I won’t be buying food from here again. Might be okay if you’re really drunk.

Always a very good Indian takeaway from this restaurant - I haven't eaten any of their pizzas. They're delicious, and often deliver early!

Got a doner kebab wrap with chips, which was absolutely vile. The doner meat was repulsive and chewy, looked like brains! You’d think they couldn’t go wrong with the chips however you’d be mistaken, soggy barely cooked chips inedible. I’m not fussy and would normally finish a underwhelming takeout but I had to throw this out after a couple of bites as it was turning me.

Great takeaway. My takeaway of choice. No bells or whistles but consistently nice fresh and hot for a fair price. The curry pizzas are particularly excellent.

Everything was lovely. The biryani had the right kick, chips were nice and soft, the pizza was divine. And they added a few popadoms which was a lovely little surprise.

For the best pizza's you have to come here. They use fresh ingredients and have a great variety of food.

Absolutely love this place, best pizza in the toon! Super tasty, great value for money with lots of choices. Highly recommend Khans Special absolutely delicious! Staff are really friendly too.

We had nan kebab meal for the night. The box includes kebab meat, chips, nan bread, salad, garlic and spicy sauce 👍 For me it’s worth the price for someone who has massive appetite 🤟 Honestly I can’t finish it in one go 😅 perfect for sharing 2-4 person

Very disappointed. I’ve been using the DD for as long as they’ve been open (Google it) and always absolutely first class. When I picked up the takeaway a few days ago I thought there had been a miscalculation of the bill so I called them when I got home. Turns out I had used an old menu and was told their prices had gone up “10/15%”. Fair enough, but when I checked the old menu was only just out of date and their prices had gone up by a whopping 30%. The curry was very good but the the taste in my mouth was bitter.

Amazing takeaway had pizzas from double diner on many occasion, the Indian pizza's are amazing chicken chaat is my favourite, will be trying all of them on the Indian pizza menu!!

Very disappointed been a regular here and the last few times have had an awful experience. The pizza has been burnt twice now hardly any cheese, uncooked chips so hard not even edible. Such a disappointment considering it was my go to takeaway!

Good food speedy delivery what more do you want. Lots to choose from on there menu I recommend the tandoori chicken pizza it's amazing. Been using this place for years for my Indian food and never had a problem with them.

So disappointed the food was appalling such a shame as this was our go to place for takeaway. the pizza was very dry extra thin and the tomato sauce on it did not taste the same, rather like a cheap tomato sauce, cheesy garlic bread was burnt and the fries were undercooked and could tell were fried in old dirty oil, as there was black bit all over them, absolutely disgusted.

Me and my partner live in Darlington and come through to Newcastle once a month or so, everytime we come through we order from here, best takeaway in the North East by far, I normally get Pathia and my parter will mix it up, this time got chicken tikka pimento and both were insanely good, fast service, food hot and full of flavour, genuinely can't recommend this place highly enough.

I’m surprised there aren’t more raving reviews for double diner, just had the most amazing takeaway from here. Super tender lamb. A tasty, generous portion Of king prawns in a delicious madras.. Chapati was a dream ! Can’t wait for my next order!

Get from here quite a lot and last night noticed there was literally mold on the bottom of the pizza base! Had already eaten some so was absolutely disgusted!! Literally green spots on the bread can't think of anything else it would be other than mold and I've got pictures of it to! So check the bottom of your pizzas for mold cos it looked perfectly fine from the top?!🤢 How long have they had it there for it to be starting to get moldy!! People could get ill with food poisoning or something more serious like ecoli or salmonella! You can even die from some food that's not stored properly and surely restaurant owners should know that and be more careful! Obviously don't care much about the safety of there customers literally feel sick won't be going back and probably going to report them to food hygiene unless I get a plausible explanation

Stopped by with some friends to get a pizza. Friendly and accommodating staff. Quick service and the meal was decent. If you are looking for good food at a reasonable price give this place a try. Delivery option also available.

I have been going to the Double Diner for many years but I felt compelled to write another review. After the recent atrocities that have taken place place in New Zealand this week I feel compelled to let people know that there is another side to this sad state of affairs. After ordering my meal I challenged the Asian chap to an arm wrestle for an agreed fee. We locked horns and the victor stood proud. We both laughed, shook hands and left on very good terms. Neither one of us felt bitter toward each other, we just took the challenge for what it was, two guys trying to out do each other with a basic test of strength. This take away is a shining example of what can be achieved between different races, with no serious gain and just having a laugh. The food is always tip top, the banter elevated to a new level and really we both won. Eat, laugh and enjoy yourselves at the Double Diner in Jesmond.

Best food in the area by far pizzas curries kebabs you name it. Front staff really helpful and friendly, especially the smart looking one ashraf i think his name was.

Four of us chose a different style each and it was all good. A great place to call in to late in the night, everything from pizza to indian and kebabs! Everything we had was hot, tasty and great portions at a good price. It was so good we went two nights running!

If you only want half an order delivered this is the place for you. If when you ring to voice your complaint you want to be laughed at then your in luck. Best part is when you take the food back and ask for your money back both you and the staff realise the delivery drivers are adding their own service charge! Awful experience which won’t happen again.

I heard about this place from my friend as a place with best kebabs. Finally we managed to visit yesterday (after a year from getting recommendation). We ordered two doner kebabs with salad and garlic sauce. Bread was fine. But the meat... it was first time in my life I had kebab meat so thickly cut (3-4mm) and it revealed that meat wasn’t very nice (poor quality?). Garlic sauce wasn’t salty or even garlicy. Today in the morning both of us felt weird in our bellies and this kebab was the only thing both of us had yesterday... We paid £12 for two doner kebabs. Card payments are accepted above £15.

Had been told about Curry Pizzas by a friend of mine so we ordered from here. When the food arrived (late, may I add), we paid for it and while dishing up realised that some items where missing from the order, even though we paid for them. We phoned them up and the guy on the phone put us on hold while he rang the driver. About 2 minutes later he came back to the phone and said that the driver had delivered everything. He definitely hadn't! After arguing for about 5 minutes on the phone with my friend ‘yes they have’/‘no they havent’, the guy on the phone then said that he would get the driver to come back and redeliver it again. After we had finished eating the things that had arrived, and the missing items still hadn't been redelivered, we rang again and told them we would just have a refund for the missing items. We were told that they couldn't give us a refund because the Manager wasnt there and he couldnt authorise a refund. We were then told to call back the following day to speak to the Manager. My friend called back and was told he was too busy to speak to her! The pizzas were nice but could have more meat on it, there should have been more than 1 or 2 pieces of chicken per slice. Unfortunately the quality of the food was over shadowed by rude employees and a takeaway who still hasn't given us a refund!

Ordered two curry pizzas and three garlic sauce for a get together which was highly anticipated. The pizzas showed, the sauce didn’t and the delivery guy took over an hour to get a pizza to a very close location. He was also short of change so we were faffing around for coins. I called for the sauces and were told not long. They never showed. The pizzas were okay, my friends haven’t tried curry pizza so approved of the concept but the sauce was overbearing and too sweet even for Korma. A thin crust and a handful of chicken on the korma pizza. The tikka masala pizza was drowning in sauce. I called to request a refund for undelivered sauces and was asked to hold for 4 minutes whilst they spoke to the driver. All of a sudden I was told ‘two people’ - were stating they dropped the sauces. I was in sheer disbelief we were arguing over the phone like petty children - to the point that this guy was telling me it was two people verses my six witnesses who know I didn’t receive the sauce. He offered to bring the sauce back- twice - but made some terrible excuse that he couldn’t give a refund as his job was on the line. In my experience, having a customer this upset is more reason to loose your job than to issue a refund for sauce. The arguing went on and I was told categorically, I would not receive a refund for the sauce I was charged for and did not receive. Disgusting. I asked the man for his name and he hesitated and repeated ‘my name?’ Before conjecturing some name. I was told to call back tomorrow but assured them this was going to go further. Never - as a person who’s worked in service for years - have I been met with such audacity and ignorance over the failings of a business. I will never buy from here again. Beware.

I have ordered from this takeaway many times, but they have definitely slipped standards. Curry bland , no heat, no flavour. Newcastle’s full of exciting new places to eat Will never go again.

terrible service and english is a big no no

Ordered 4 kebabs and was told 20 minutes for collection. Went to the place about 25 minutes after ordering and had to wait an extra 10/15 minutes. THEN when I did get the order there was stuff missing after paying nearly £25. Rang back and the man asked if I could come and collect the kebab when I refused he said he would get it out for delivery straight away baring in mind we live 6 minutes away from the shop. Waited 20 minutes and still not kebab delivered. Rang back and the person was saying he would get it out for delivery. Even thou we were told that 20 minutes prior. First and last time we will be ordering from here.

I wouldn't give any stars if it was only for customer service... staff there is not poilte at all. They need to learn how to talk with customers.. food is ok ordered burgers but the bun was hard.. keema pilaw was so dry.. but they do great pizza's.

Hace 2 semanas pedimos 7 platos principales diferentes con la familia, 2 de los cuales eran exactamente el mismo plato, aunque con nombres diferentes en las tapas. Está bajo nueva administración, como lo indica el letrero en la ventana frontal, esta noche pregunté cuándo llamé y me dijeron que no. Dos veces por semana y un negocio de 12 años mudándose al Kamal.

Me encanta este para llevar, sirven curries increíble así como kebabs y pizzas. Pedimos desde aquí regularmente y nunca nos ha decepcionado. Curry es un balti de mis favoritos; sabroso con pollo jugoso tierno. Pizzas son también increíble. Sin duda uno de mis favoritos de comida para llevar.
