By far and away the best Indian restaurant I've been to. Delicious, interesting food and great, efficient service; just wish I lived closer.

Went one Saturday lunchtime and had a number of vegetarian dishes , pigged ourselves in fact . Everything worked - chick pea dish complemented daal , bread delicious excellent pakora . We were given an explanation of all the dishes at the outset consistent with the ultra friendly service we experienced throughout . Informal relaxed place definitely to be visited

We came here as a family for dinner on mother's day (admittedly my sister had won an instgram competition) and couldn't have been made to feel more welcome or at home. The staff were all absolutely charming from start to finish and took their time in talking us through the menu. We ordered all of the savory dishes which included fish, chicken, chickpeas, paneer, various breads and rotis, chips with tamarind dressing. All were really fresh and the flavours complimented each other beautifully. We were stuffed so for dessert, three of us had the mango lassi lollipop which was wonderfully fresh and we made an attempt at the apple samosas with kulfi ice cream- super tasty! The menu changes regularly but I wouldn't hesitate to revisit as I am sure whatever they make is delicious and the service was brilliant throughout.

We have been dying to try this place for a while and after being closed for a holiday it's finally open again. We decided to pop in on our way back home and was not disappointed. We both had the seekh kebab roti, which was outstanding and clearly freshly made. The staff were really friendly and chatty and happy to explain anything. There was also a real mix of ages with the customers, which is great to see. We will definitely be back and spread the word it's a local gem. It's a byob so if you like a drink with your food take it, I did like the fact they had zero alcohol beers on offer.

Menu changes weekly and we were well pleased with the offerings today. Each dish is explained by the host and proved to be delicious and very different from anything we had had before. We had Paneer Dosa and Chole bature. The dosa was coloured pink for Valentines week! The chole had a puffed "bread", quite hot pickle and red onion rings with it. We treated ourselves with apple pie samosas and pistachio kulfi to go with our chai. We will be back!!

What a nice surprise! We have been invited t9 this lovely family run restaurant by a friend of ours and honestly it was more than very good. The food was beautiful and freshly homemade. The owner as Wael as the staff were king and explained clearly the menue for us and believe me, it was amazing. I would recommend this place in order to have a good time. The customer seems to be young but well mannered. No licence for alcohol so you have to bring yours but it makes the place affordable even if the prices are more than decent. We will definitely come back there .

Warm welcome on arrival as always. Ordered 4 dishes and the standouts were the Aloo Tikka Chole and the best paneer dish I've had which I wish I'd paid more attention to what it was called! Spicy and focused on flavour rather than heat. It's always lovely treat visit and highly recommended if you're in the area.

Sabzi in Edinburgh? Big yes from us! The food? Top-notch. Seriously, every bite was a flavor party. The staff? Super friendly and welcoming. Bonus: BYOB, so you can enjoy your favorite drink. And those mango lassis? Absolutely divine. Just remember, it's popular – book ahead! You won't regret it.

This is the restaurant you all want on your street. Unbelievably tasty food that changes weekly, owners and staff are so nice - remember you even after only being in once. The value for the quality of the food is excellent - especially when it’s BYOB. Hot summer nights, sitting outside, eating authentic Indian food and drinking cold beers. Priceless. You MUST order the Pani Puri, always.

Although I used to frequent this space every Saturday night in the 80s, when it used to be a Blockbuster video rental shop, I've not been in since it's been Sabzi and boy do I regret that. There were 18 of us for a family get together and we were accomodated no problem. A staff member talked us through the food and drinks menu, which was very helpful as this is not your standsrd Indian restaurant. It is more a street food place and my oh my the food is sublime. I had the pork belly, which came in a delicious curry sauce and also with a garlic nan. I also had the pani puri, crispy shells that you pour massla water and tamarind sauce into and they were a taste sensation. Everybody in the party thouroughlly enjoyed their food and the service was top notch as well. I won't leave it as long until I come back here again.

Sometimes the best experiences happen by chance. This was one of them. Walking home this evening from an event we thought we’d pop in for some food. No chance. Full and a queue. They offered take away and so glad we accepted. Flavoursome, beautifully cooked street food. Looking forward to a return visit.

A Culinary Gem in Edinburgh I recently had the pleasure of dining at Cilantro, an exceptional Indian restaurant in Edinburgh, and it was so good that I found myself returning for dinner the very next day! On both visits, the food was consistently fantastic, full of rich, authentic flavors and perfectly prepared dishes that left a lasting impression. Despite exploring other options, nothing seemed to compare to the experience Cilantro offers. From the warm and welcoming atmosphere to the impeccable service, everything about this place speaks to quality and care. If you’re in Edinburgh and looking for an unforgettable Indian dining experience, Cilantro is an absolute must-try. I’ll certainly be back!

first time eating in for a while and we won't be back. had the most dreadful service from a waiter who seemed to be in his own world. despite being the only people eating in for a while the service was some of the most dreadful I've ever experienced. from not clearing plates, to messing up the order (despite repeating it back) to not topping up water to no apology for a piece of dish sponge in a mango lassi to making the customer self transfer their food to takeaway dishes, extraordinarily bad. a real shame as the food is good. the this person should be be serving anyone. ever.
