Fantastic pub selling 5 or 6 real ales and lots of keg. Good jukebox and an eclectic and mixed clientele.

My favourite pub. Ace food. Amazing beer. Great staff. And the place has been spruced up without loosing any of the quirky charm

Years since I've been in. Still as good as it was. Nice pub. Good ambience and a mixed clientele, including the farting dog 🤢 that led to us moving tables. Pleasant staff. 6 real ales and 14 craft keg lines. Worth the short walk from the train station.I

Absolute gem. Great beers, great food, atmosphere and great staff. Pets welcome. Ten of us there twice in two days, all agree it was the best in Sheffield despite some wonderful competition.

This is a great pub and not to be missed. Although the cask beers number only 5 or 6 there are also many interesting keg beers of which we tried a couple and they were good. The "snap" is something else. All the food sounds interesting but it is cooked with great skill and rarely dissapoints. I had the steak sarnie and the meat was delightful as were the chips but the dish was so much more interesting with the mustard and sauerkraut additions in the sandwich.

Great pub, nice beers and good vibes. The beers are a bit on the pricey side and the food is a little over hyped but overall a great experience.

Saturday 29th June 2024 This pub near Sheffield train station is an essential visit for real ale drinkers to drink in when in Sheffield tonight. This proper victoriana real ale pub had a plethora of really good small brewery real ales on hand pumps there was a lively feel in here with the customers mainly real ale drinkers a good background music and good bar staff added to this pubs feeling of goodness Tuesday 4th February 2025 This Sheffield pub in my opinion is an essential visit for real ale drinkers when in Sheffield today a really good range of hand pumped ales on offer some really obscure beers from small breweries this pub has not changed a squat from my last visit this is stated above well don all involved

Nice atmosphere, great food, amazing beers/ciders

That jukebox only takes coins, and the music's kinda old and boring. The staff are friendly, but they can't tell a lager from a pilsner. Still nice people though. Better music would be great.

Old skool boozer with a tiny bar!

gorgeous food, great drinks, lovely staff and music- love love love this pub but rlly disappointed at the refurbishments :( doesn’t feel very cosy anymore bit soulless. Missing the old lighting and walls filled with character. Quite sad rlly but still love the place.

Finally got around to trying out this pub and so glad I did, it only recently reopened after a refurbishment. Very friendly staff. I visited twice at the weekend and was amazed by how super busy it was on the Saturday night, well worth a visit. I will be back.

Excellent ales in a traditional pub with eclectic decor

Best pub in Sheffield. Only the Fat Cat comes close. Beer is excellent and nice atmosphere. Beer garden is good too. Food is not bad either.

Quirky little pub with some great beers. Great humour additions to the pump tags. Would visit again. At least 10 good beers on. Didn't eat here.

The clientele, bar staff, decor, music and the menu are eclectic, inclusive, funky, funny and hugely good value. Great beer selection. If you like your jukebox varied but with rock, folk from the 60s onwards, then you'll love it.

El personal es muy amable, servicial y atento, el servicio es bueno y rápido. Las bebidas que ofrecen son de primera selección. El barril y especialmente las cervezas de barril son la gran opción. Buena variedad de las mejores cervecerías del Reino Unido. La comida es buena también y el ambiente es súper fresco. Cada vez que voy allí, está lleno. , no importa el clima o la estación, la multitud nunca baja. Así que si su amante de la cerveza y visita Sheffield, entonces debe probar Rutland. Nunca te decepcionarán.

El mejor pub de la ciudad 5 pub en todo el país para mí. Real tradicional pero también leftfield, virgen, visualmente interesante, selección masiva de cervezas (y un par de buenas cervezas) y en cuanto a los aperitivos: nunca visto lo mismo! Estuvo allí para una pareja antes de un concierto. El ambiente del viernes por la noche era genial con un cliente animado pero totalmente no revoltoso. Muy bien equipado (número y actitud) Si viviera en Sheffield estaría aquí MUY a menudo

The Rutland Arms is an absolute GEM! I would move to Sheffield just to be close to this amazing pub. Food was AMAZING. Great selection of beers and punters too! And the staff were very friendly. We will be back!

Ok... positive... glasses were clean 👌, the smell of the place was obnoxious! Had to retreat to the beer garden to breathe... stayed for one, made swift exit... best left for the regulars 🤔🤢

One of the best pubs in Sheffield. Visiting this place whenever visit Sheffield and after many visits, time to leave my review. Staff is very friendly, helpful and attentive, service is good and quick. The drinks they are offering is top selection. Cask and specially keg beers are the great choice. Good variety from the best breweries of UK. Food is good too and the atmosphere is super cool. Whenever i go there, it’s full packed., doesn’t matter about weather or season, crowd never goes down. So if your beer lover and visiting Sheffield, then must try Rutland. They will never disappoint you.

Little plates at £7, all delicious and not "little" at all. Been twice in a week, and I'll go there again! Try the roast salmon with anchovies, salad and percorino! Hustle, bustle pub, fun atmosphere. Also offer "dinners" and "extras" I.e sides. Lovely.

Only recently moved to Sheffield but this is the best place i’ve been too, feels like a home from home

Wow.... Probably the most 'right on' woke place I've ever been in where the (I assume) mostly student clientele's hand written posters protest about everything other than the hideously smelly filthy dirty toilets. The beer was OK though.

Good if a bit run down pub.7 real ales on the bar. Had a chip butty which was top notch. Great place to have a drink before going to Sheff Utd and only short walk from station, good mix of home and away fans.

Gran pub de cerveza real, no lejos de la estación. Vamos de camino a Bramell Lane, a ver Derby. Al menos 7 cervezas reales en la barra, la que elegí fue una cerveza brown ale, en perfectas condiciones y luego probé una amarga antes de dos cervezas brown ale más. Gran pub con una mezcla de fans de Derby y Utd todos muy amables, tuvo una buena risa con algunos de los fans de Utd. Solo tenía un chip butty para la comida, pero piel en chips crujiente y un montón de. Si vas camino a Sheff United bien merece una visita.

Usually I would take pictures to review food, but I didn’t get a chance for this spot. As a burger connoisseur I was flabbergasted by the depth of taste the beef burger provided, the steak sandwich was amongst the best I have tasted within the four corners of the globe. One of the party had a vegan Cauliflower sandwich which impressed. Great drinks, fantastic atmosphere, superb chips and amazing scran. 10/10 I will be back to sample the rest. (The chef on duty, Adam, was fabulous)

My first trip to Sheffield and went to this pub that was recommended by our local geezer Paul. He is in the picture with my girlfriend. We had really nice food, great beer and had a great time in this awesome pub. Great memories from this pub...and this great city.

Definitely an experience, I was dared to put my hand down the back of a grubby old sofa... no chance!! A great atmospheric dip into student grime. Worst toilets in Sheffield, A must visit place. Loved it

This pub is totally out of control. It might have a selection of real ales the length of your arm, but the 'music that will be turned off at the jukebox' playlist has grown from Arctic Monkeys to about a dozen bands too, which is funny because they were playing Dire Straits (lol!). The bar staff laughed at my mate when he wanted an Aperol Spritz and scoffed when I ordered bar snacks (that they sell!). It's a pub with that known identity of being "Left" and is a safe space for Trans people etc., which is the reason why I've gone there in the past (so my good friend can relax and enjoy herself without being on edge), but it's absolutely jam packed to the rafters with real ale drinkers, posery hipsters and after work professionals. When so many locals are on their backside and struggling - desperate to keep the doors open (or shutting up shop for good!) - taking such openly sneery, moral positions over drinks, music and food...taste...is not a good look at all (and probably sums up the state of the Left). It might have an "aesthetic" but its really lost it's way since the pandemic. Won't be going back for a while and not sorry about it!

Always my go to pub when in Sheffield. Staff are amazing and knowledgeable, beer - it's excellent. Decor is great. I've also eaten here in the past and fabulous too. Thank you!

This how how pubs are meant to be! Clearly a very authentic, non corporate type boring pub like so many you get these days. Grimy and lived in in a good way...like your favourite pair of old tracksuit bottoms. Beautiful exterior too if you take the time to look. Their Rutine dish is probably one of the greatest things I've ever eaten!

One of my favorite spots in Sheffield, boasting excellent beers, exceptional food at a great price, and a friendly eclectic atmosphere! Service is always brilliant and friendly too. My only points for improvement would be replacing the old benches in the rear beer garden as they are a tad bit rickety these days and perhaps suggest some ambient music in the beer garden!

I visit every few weeks or so for the steak sarni, which is brilliant! The beer choices are great if a bit over priced! Staff sometimes leave ya stood for a while until they've finished their conversation with regulars! Really bloody annoying 😑 once attention is gained 🙄 ya get treated well. Atmosphere, sometimes a bit stuck up, otherwise mostly friendly. Just need to adjust my Yorkshire accent and dress sense to fit in!

Sat in the beer garden for an hour or so and enjoyed the plumage of the trees, the fig tree is especially beautiful! Great service and good vibes all round 👌🏿

Excelente gama de cerveza de calidad. También es agradable encontrar un pub con un duque - caja. Lamentablemente, sin embargo, dicho duke - caja viene con una lista muy larga de bandas y canciones prohibidas - que no se tocan, pero todavía se le cobra por si selecciona no haber examinado completamente la extensa lista. Con tal prescriptivismo musical te hace preguntarte por qué tener un duque - caja en absoluto y no solo hacerse cargo de tu propia lista de reproducción. Cuando se les preguntó por la lista de prohibición, el personal fue miserable, esnob, defensivo y desdeñoso. Era muy extraño encontrar tal hostilidad / hospitalidad en lo que de otra manera sería un pub excepcional.

In Sheffield for the first time, worked in beer and breweries and pubs and taps for a really long time so when I asked for recommendations for Sheffield I got an overwhelming response from my fellow beer nerds about this place. What they failed to mention was not only do they have a vast, eclectic, and high quality beer list, but they also have a wonderful inclusive and fun atmosphere..and INCREDIBLE food. I only wish I could pick this place up and pop it down in my own Bristol neighbourhood. What a pub! Absolutely fantastic. If I could give it more stars I bloody would

I've never put on any of the "forbidden music" yet it keeps getting skipped. Bro is over here skipping vengaboys and spice girls??? Ach but in all seriousness, a bit student-poisoned for me but still ok. A nice pub with great beers, chill staff, and nice food, but very studenty and can get extremely busy - so come early. I've found myself coming here less and less recently because of this.
