Second visit this year whilst visiting Sheffield to see family - great pizza , great beer ( Any of the Thornbridge Beers) Friendly staff -

Gone downhill. Poor food. Pizza terrible. Oil slick on pizza and dough like a biscuit. This place used to be great, now it’s awful. Looks like some amateurs have taken over. Don’t bother . A frozen supermarket pizza would be better. Stay home and save your cash. It won’t last another year. Sad.

My boyfriend and i loved this place! The staff was lovely, the playlist was amazing, we had a lot of fun! We ordered chicken goujon and a three cheese pizza, which is hard to find elsewhere. It all tasted really good!

Nice Pizza but menu has been drastically reduced since my last visit, fair price for food and Pizza was good size. Terrible cocktails, ordered 4x cocktails and each was served at separate intervals, some with no ice, some in wrong glasses and 2x same cocktails where served with different ingredients and looked completely different, all of which resembled nothing like what you'd expect. Made a reservation and was told it was the only slot available on a Friday evening so a deposit was needed to secure but when we arrived only 3 tables where in use and only 1 was in use when we left. Staff where friendly, only saw 2 though, which is probably why cocktails served in this way. Don't think I'd return again, food was OK but as for the atmosphere I'd be better off ordering a takeaway and sitting in my garden.

Visited this weekend. Ordered a pizza to share and some garlic and parmesan fries. Pizza was basic but tasty. Although it advertised craft beers there were only a choice of a handful of the more mainstream beers. Ok for a visit though.

Food is incredible, can highly recommend the goujons - staff all very friendly and welcoming, and whoever is in charge of the music really smashed it !

Previously a Sheffield institution. The menu has been completely stripped back to basics. Food prepared with poor quality ingredients. Suspect new ownership and hoping they can ride the wave of the brand. Well, you can't. What a bitter disappointment.

Quality of food is very poor , I thought the restaurant had a strange smell to it. Unfortunately I checked reviews whilst in there and then instantly realised I’d made a mistake booking here. I noticed on way out it had changed ownership and it shows. Please don’t waste your money.

Unfortunately craft & dough is not what it used to be. As you enter it is a very cold environment, they have beautiful lights but instead they turn the super bright cold white LED light, and there is a random vending machine with white white in the corner. The tables and seats are similar to what you would find in a cafeteria. The energy was poor and the staff really did not look like they wanted to be there, just stood on their phones in plain sight. The music was really loud and played through one speaker in the corner. The menu was literally a laminated word document. It just seems like they have got new management and they don't care about the restaurant at all. The food was okay, but to be honest I would have preferred wetherspoons and thats half the price. Overall it just felt very cheap and nothing like what it used to be. Its a real shame, it used to have a lovely vibe and was well worth the price. Now its just not worth going.

Not sure what is going on with this place but I would avoid it if I were you! The quality of the pizza was terrible, and also completely undercooked to the point of being nearly inedible. I mean worse than wetherspoons or even oven pizza. I'm not a fussy eater. Staff, including the chef, seemed to be mostly actual children. Poor selection of drinks and we had a cocktail - despite being on the menu it was clear they didn't know how to make it. And it's a fair bit more expensive than other places? I have rarely gone to a restaurant and thought 'wow this is a total disaster'. Go literally anywhere else.

Walked in and weren’t greeted by any of the staff so had to ask if we just sit down. Then waited a while and nobody came to take our drinks order so I had to go up to the bar and ask if we ordered drinks there. It’s actually quite impressive how in a practically empty restaurant the service managed to be so bad. Then got served the wrong beer. The pizza base was undercooked and smothered in cheap greasy cheese that you get from a kebab shop (I’ve had better pizzas on nights out). Chips tasted stale and the garlic and Parmesan seasoning on them was tasteless. Nobody came to check on us during the meal meaning I had to go up to the counter again to ask for something. Just an all round bad experience and if this place wants to stay open they need to stop using cheap ingredients and the customer service really needs some work. Avoid.

Great little pizza place. Incredibly welcoming and friendly. Pizza was crisp and tasty. Fair price for what you get. Would recommend going and would come again.

I'm not sure whats happened to craft and dough however my recent experience was pretty poor. Its quite clear the ingredients have been replaced with cheap alternatives resulting in tasteless pizza's. As the menu has been cut down significantly I'd still expect them to use better quality ingredients. The place itself is also looking a bit tired and the atmosphere is just depressing. In addition to this the service is just poor, I mean our waiter didnt even know what beers they had on draft, I was told to go and ask to bar man, Overall a poor experience and to top it off it wasnt even cheap. Very disappointing, I wont be coming back unless some drastic changes are made.

Really disappointing visit to Craft & Dough for what used to be an authentic pizza place. The staff do not know the menu, the pizzas are tasteless and there is no atmosphere. The menu is somewhat reduced and the staff struggle to understand english, making it difficult to order. We visited on a Friday evening and the place was eerily quiet, not a good sign. Wont be visiting again.

Lovely staff, very accommodating. Good atmosphere and music and nice pizza options. V.tasty! (Get the garlic brushed crust!) Also good for gluten free/coeliac. Candles in the evening are a nice touch too. Could do with some more soft drink/alcohol-free beer options though.

Really nice pizzas - Garlic bread delicious! Good value. Four adults and one child including a drink each for £55 quid. Now when you divide that by 5 it’s roughly, a tenner a piece! Same price as a cardboard KFC meal. Service was good, slight delay on the pizzas and staff were regularly checking in and updating us. Nice owner and lovely staff.

Friday 20th October Excellent welcome weather outside was awful heavy rain. We were made so welcome the gentleman in charge said sit near this heater to dry out. He brought us coffee and said there would be no charge for it. We gad 2 cheese pizzas and 2 vegan ones they were really lovely. The young lady who served us was really nice and was attentive but not intrusive she had a lovely smile and looked as though she wanted to be there. We later found out it was her first day and she did fantastic Prices were reasonable too

We arrived at 7pm on Friday night to a completely empty restaurant, this is never a good sign. The service was friendly but a bit clunky. I asked for a the alcohol free IPA I had seen on the menu before I arrived and the guy serving us looked confused and asked me to wait for a second. He came back to tell me they had some left and proceeded to bring me a warm can of beer and a glass. I poured the beer to watch a fly coming towards me atop the foam. I pointed this out and settled for a mediocre pint of Green Mountain (which I normally like a lot). My meat feast pizza was more of lack of meat feast pizza, very cheap generic meat on an overcooked base (tough like corrugated cardboard) and undercooked top. Over 20 quid, could have got better service and prices from the Tesco Express round the corner.

Service was fine. Little slow at times considering how quiet it was. Food was very average and thats generous given the price. 30 pounds for two pizzas that arent even up to wetherspoons standard. Genuinely quite impressed. Wont be back.

Terrible level of service, terrible standard of food.only 2 staff on during the meal though there was roughly 30 in the restaurant. Told by the manager it was closing the day after only to see it was still open 3 weeks later, hence the review. Went for a 90 minute bottomless brunch which started at 3:00pm and don’t get served a drink until 3:25. Told the manager we didn’t mind as long as the 90 minute period started when we first received a drink, which he said was fine but tried to stop us from being served drinks past the end of the original 90 minute window. It was only after we all said we wouldn’t pay our bill that he agreed to serve us any more drinks. Terrible from start to finish and I’d strongly advise people not to go here for food, especially with so many other great places in kelham to eat

Regretful rating as this place was great a couple of years ago, bizarre ordering at the bar and menu has been slashed. Dough not upto scratch and service is nonexistent, new owners? Please get back to where you were - unimpressed 🙃

Disappointing - not sure what happened the evening we visited. Service was poor and the staff seemed not to care. The one person in the kitchen couldn’t cope and then pizzas sat on the - I heated- pass for an age before they were delivered to the table. One couple literally took theirs straight back and another table went and collected their own. Ours were delivered but disappointing. £15 for a mediocre pizza is a bit much especially when it takes an hour to come.

Decent place for a pint with several craft options, but would definitely stay clear of the pizza. For £11-13, I’ve had better from Tesco.

Jack was a great host. Went over and beyond to assist. Last minute booking and I am a coeliac, which unfortunately the booking system didn't pick up that they had no gf bases Jack sourced some gf tortillas and made my pizza just as lovely. Thank you for a lovely meal. Simon & Serena

Fantastic service got me out of a pickle when two restaurants i had ordered from let me down for a pizza and beer event at my work Jack was extremely helpful the whole team went above and beyond!! Pizzas were delicious everyone enjoyed it we will be coming back to you every event now WONDERFUL

Don't bother, place is a joke. 1630 on a Saturday afternoon in August, weather half decent.... No draft beers on. Well they thought there was one but then rocked up back at the table to say it was off too. Wife had a cider but unclear until it landed if draft or bottle (wasn't given the option) table next to us Sent a pizza back as was cold so already a bit apprehensive, food arrived pretty quick. too quick possibly. another pizza landed that we hadn't ordered....miscommunication they said which meant the chicken nuggets needed taking out the freezer.... How hard is it to order 2 pizzas, a fries and some Chicken Nuggets? Pizza looked like it needed another 10mins in the oven so with the complaints of next door fresh in my mind we left. I'm not particularly picky but christ how these places can be so poor and survive is beyond me. Looks great outside but honestly don't give yourselves the hassle

Came her for dinner with my brother when we visited Sheffield yesterday. We heard Kelham Island was the place to go but when we arrived was fairly surprised at how very little there was to do. We settled on this restaurant as it advertised craft drinks and pizza. Winner, right? Not really. We sat down and we're told there were no written drinks menu yet. Fine, we'll live with that and ordered food. We waited almost an hour for our pizza and chips to arrive. During that hour other tables were become rowdy and frustrated and the kitchen was having such a hard time that the fire alarm went off at one point. We weren't offered anything for our very lengthy wait. The pizza came and it was pretty poor to say the least. The pork on mine was ultra tough and beef on my brother's more akin to gristle than to actual beef. The table next to us even leant over, commented on how bare they looked and asked whether it was even decently tasting! My brother confirmed that it was just okay but better because we were hungry. Many tables seemed to get some discount and refund for their food but we didn't really want to trouble people more than we had to so settled our bill and left soon after. If it wasn't for the fact that conversation with my brother was brilliant, we probably wouldn't have waited as long as we did for otherwise subpar food.

Every pizza on our table was undercooked. Chicken wings were cold in the middle. Food took nearly an hour to arrive. Burnt food in the kitchen meant the fire alarm went off, the door had to be left open making the restaurant cold. For a restaurant where 90% of the menu is pizza, it's shocking that you can't even deliver an average pizza. The pizza options are lacking as well, pretty unimaginative for an 'artisan' pizza place. We did get a fair amount of money off the bill, thanks for being decent about this. Whoever owns this should consider closing down, this can't be profitable. Chicken goujons were pretty decent. Maybe stick to these.

Very disappointed, was our first time here and we was left waiting for around 1hr20mins for our food ( 2 margarita pizzas) that can only be described as basic and average. The smoke alarm kept going off so was very Smokey too. We had 3 drinks before food even arrived so was getting very frustrated to what was going on in the kitchen, as the restaurant wasn’t even busy, we asked staff twice how long our food would be and they said it wouldn’t be long yet still had to wait. We got no apology. Cost us £65 and feel like it was wasted money and will not be returning.

I cannot recommend this place enough. The service was quick, I had the meat feast pizza and it was 10/10, very delicious.

Called in with my son and his girlfriend for what turned out to be great pizza and service. They also have a fab selection of beers. Couldn't recommend it highly enough. 👌 👍👍

If I could give less than one star I would, the waitress was lovely but I felt so sorry for her having to deliver food that was this poor. The pizza was completely undercooked and the dough was raw, the chicken wings were still completely cold in the middle, the chef came over to talk to us and was despicably rude and actually fairly aggressive. I would never suggest anyone eat here.

The food here was fantastic and the service was great. I would really recommend the ‘English garden’ drink for anyone who is a fan of gin. The pizzas are huge and when coupled with the fact you can smell them cooking the atmosphere is class!

Absolute belter of a time in here...all the staff are so so friendly and drinks were great we had cocktails which were very good...we didn't have food but it looked tasty what was being served whilst we were there..... Daniel was the hostess with the mostest!!!! Ryan and Maria were great mixologists....and Jack was a great maitre d.... Would highly recommend..

Honestly thought this was the subject of a heist. Waiters and chefs replaced by children playing dress up. The service has been comically bad for a while, but at least the pizza was still good. Yesterday it was dreadful and we had to leave half of it. One of the worst dining experiences of my life. There is a reason nobody comes here anymore and it probably needs to be put out to pasture with the gone off cheese they were using.

This is the first truly terrible review I have written. To keep it short, there were a few red flags we noticed but overlooked initially. Namely: typos on the menu, lots of things on the menu were ‘out of stock’, waiters were unsure about the...

The menu may have been littered with typos, but the biggest one was the name of the restaurant. The sign outside should read craft and d’oh. So much potential has been wasted by poorly trained staff, ignorant chefs and general poor planning. The raw bacon on my meat feast pizza shouldn’t have been a surprise after my better half’s mushroom pizza was presented with a couple of mushrooms roughly chopped and plonked on top, and little else. No mention was made of the two missing ingredients (out of 4 total) and when we brought this to the head chefs attention we were offered an unspecified discount. Passable, but we’d still prefer the food that was advertised; you wouldn’t be happy if you ordered a carrot cake and they brought out a carrot and two eggs, would you? Even if they knocked a couple of quid off. But yes, that meat feast, that was the dough that broke the crafts back. Heston Blumenthal may have pioneered the triple cooked chip, but this head chef has managed the unthinkable and crafted a pizza that simultaneously included burned dough and RAW meat. Not undercooked, not rare, but raw, fresh-from-the-packet, slimy bacon. It had clearly been thrown at the pizza along with a bit of pepperoni a few minutes before it was due to grace our table, but alas that few minutes back in the oven was not enough. How someone could possibly fail completely to cook the easiest meat there is to cook through I don’t quite know. You don’t exactly need a temperature probe to tell you that the translucent back bacon on that pizza you’re carrying out isn’t quite cooked enough. It genuinely looked as if it had spent a minute or two on a radiator, or had just been scalded by a stern word. Upon seeing this we decided that enough was enough and promptly upped sticks and made for the hills. The fawlty towers-esque to-do that my friends had in trying to retrieve their £40 deposit was so bizarre that we half expected Aston Kutcher to walk out and point to the hidden cameras. No we hadn’t been Punk’d, we’d been to craft and d’oh. Management really need to close their doors for a while and retrain every member of staff in this place what constitutes good customer service, before the poor food preparation and obviously lacklustre quality control causes someone some serious illness. Only following a MAJOR revamp of their processes could I ever recommend patronising craft and dough.

We ordered the three cheese pizza and it was pretty good. The service was nice too. The staff are friendly and they served us the drinks pretty quick. The ambience is cozy and wonderful for a night out with friends.

We had a very mixed experience when we visited last month. The food was really good but the service was really, really bad. We had a badly burnt pizza (to be fair it was the base) that should never had been served. We had another pizza that was served when the rest of the group were having desert, which I suspect was actually burnt and had to be redone.
