Called in to try the new coffee bar - what a lovely experience! A warm greeting from the young staff and on seeing the range of cakes, just a quick coffee became a longer visit. What a choice - luckily they do take-aways but we will definitely keep going to try all the menu. Reasonably priced, great atmosphere and good service.

Bright and beautifully decorated- this new coffee shop is a wonderful addition! The young staff are so welcoming and the cakes to die for! Illy coffee has to be the best! We are working our way through the cakes with each visit and are not disappointed. Definitely back on the map as a “must go to” - congratulations, they have transformed it.

They didn't inform me that they don't take cash until I tried to pay. As a point if principle, I would never have eaten here if I'd been aware that they are "card only", and I certainly would never entertain the idea of returning unless this policy is reversed.

The food was nice enough, but I was informed that "we are card only" when trying to pay. If there were signs to this effect, I didn't see any of them -- I certainly wouldn't have eaten there if I had. Any pub or restaurant that refuses cash is a "hard no" from me. I won't be returning.

Been here a couple of times and never eaten before, always tempted but just never did. Wasn’t busy on a Saturday lunchtime so thought we would give it a try. I ordered ham egg and chips, fairly safe I thought, got two eggs one was a runny yolk the other was solid, the wafer thinly sliced was ham was I think grilled a bit weird but I went with it, the chips were really quite good. There was no tomato as per the menu but no big deal. My wife ordered a chicken flatbread with sweet potato fries, the waitress came back and said there was no avocado for the wrap but said we would fill it with ‘stuff’ , alarm bells should of gone off at this point but it was Saturday and we were hungry. The aforementioned flatbread arrived, minus the fries. It was chewy and that is being kind, on opening the flatbread there was about an once of dry chicken, to put that in perspective it was about the width of a pencil and half as long, a half a rasher (and I am being kind) of congealed overcooked streaky bacon. On the plus side there was the most ridiculous amount of lettuce leaves which I assume was the side salad . Asked where the sweet potato fries were and she went back to check, it was during this time that we discovered the dreadful contents of the flatbread and after 5 minutes when she came back decided to cancel the fries and send the flatbread back. Graciously they offered to cancel the flatbread and fries for the bill. All very disappointing but clearly a lack of training of for staff and complete lack of direction for the Mang

Had a wonderful brunch here on Saturday with my daughter. I had the healthy brunch with avocado, toast, mushrooms, hummus and my daughter had salt and pepper squid. Food tasty, service excellent and quick, prices reasonable. Lovely decor. We took cake away from the fantastic Knead bakery and that was gorgeous too. We did visit before and had a bad experience which they kindly appreciated, apologised and gave us a voucher. They have more than improved. This cafe is now one of our firm favourites . Try it, you won’t be disappointed.

We've driven here a few times since lockdown only to be disappointed that it wasn't open, so were pleased when we checked in this week to have a slap up lunch. Warm & friendly welcome & prompt service. I highly recommend the Croque Monsieur with an egg on top (I think that makes it a "Madame") with a side order of amazing Haloumi fries. My partner enjoyed a super ham & cheese croissant & 2 delicious coffees. They have daily "specials" too, yesterday was Lasagne which I almost went for but the Brioche CM won the day. Lots of interesting things to see in the shopping area, bit pricey for us but we have bought lovely furniture here previously in their January Sale. No plants in as yet, probably a bit early in the season. Needed a walk along West-Wittering Beach to try to burn some of the many calories ingested. No room afterwards for cake unfortunately, as they looked amazing. Delicious Food. We'll be back!

I visited over the weekend, I had a slice of white chocolate and raspberry cake and a latte my wife had coffee and a flapjack, the coffee was pleasant, atmosphere was warming and lovely the staff where very attentive and helpful so thank you to all staff. I was disappointed with the baked goods. The white chocolate and raspberry cake was flavorless and the butter icing grainy like eating sand - I am not sure how you make a flavorless cake but whoever made this has achieved just that. The flapjack looked like saw dust and the taste was horrendous - not good. It's a shame because to look at it's visually pleasing. The food coming out of the kitchen looked and smelt delicious, when we return I think we will be ordering from the main menu and leaving the bakery well alone. After our coffee and cakes we walked around the garden centre, which was pleasant and purchased some wonderful items.

When with two friends for breakfast. Ordered scrambled eggs on sourdough bread with 3 rashers of bacon. The bread was far too thick and overcooked which made it very hard. You only got one relatively small piece of bread with a portion of tasteless scrambled egg which hardly amounted to 1 egg along with the bacon that was overcooked. Very poor experience and no were near the quality of the previous owners; will not be going back.

We did not get off to a good start with the service, nobody came to take our order. Eventually, after getting up to find someone, we were a little disappointed that we were unable to order one of their highly praised breakfast/brunch dishes as it was 1:30 and they only offer these options till 12 noon, our fault for not checking. I ordered a rump steak burger and was given a vegan burger! I had on my plate what appeared to be some dry carpet with plastic cheese underneath. After I asked the server if this was a vegan option, it took time for the kitchen to agree what it was; they then took the carpet burger away but left me my chips - “to snack on.” Meanwhile my partner finished their food. Then my burger returned - I’d lost my homemade coleslaw in this process. The burger was actually good, however a medium rare burger was fine for me, not so sure everyone would have been keen? I ate about half of it, with no hot chips or coleslaw it wasn’t what I expected. At £14 this wasn’t a cheap option! When we went to pay, we were asked “if everything had been okay?” We explained the situation, the chap then went to speak to his “Supervisor” on return he adjusted our bill - we didn’t have to pay for one Coke - how generous! (Not). I’m afraid we will not be returning.

Thank goodness the cafe is back, it’s been completely renovated and has all new staff, the American man and his wife are no longer there. The new team are all friendly, they are still getting used to the new till etc, so the service is a little laid back at the moment, but I’m sure that will improve as they find their feet so to speak. The food was delicious, a different vibe to the old cafe serving a menu of sandwiches, toasties, salads with the option of quiche, pie of the day and ham egg and chips among other items. They also serve a range of cakes and pastries which appear to be freshly made. There are a couple of beers on draft, Gin and wine with a range of teas and coffees and soft drinks as well. A breakfast menu is also available till 12o’clock. I had a smashed avocado and roasted pepper salad with chicken, It was really tasty. The others had the ‘Posh’ fish finger sandwich and the smoked salmon toastie (I know sounds wrong, but actually really tasty) the were both very happy. You can also purchase fresh bread and cakes to take away. Whilst visiting you will find loads of lovely and unusual home items and garden goods, it’s a great place to browse around. It’s great to have the lovely friendly Cafe back at Russell’s, oh how I’ve missed visiting, hope to be back again and again in the future.

Asked at the pay point why that was the case and was told by a lady cashier that the people running the cafe had not informed them as to when they were planning to open and as a consequence they did not need to open the toilets. I explained to the lady that perhaps this was why the centre was deserted; did not seem to bother her, then again not the owner. Very poor explanation and rathe I don’t care attitude.

Now I’m not accusing anyone of lying, however the events of the review (left on the 5 April 2018) didn’t quite happen how the reviewer remembers them. In fact I was both thrilled and amused to read that my mum, who was with me at the time, had been labelled as the ‘abusive customer’ who harangued the reviewer from 4 or 5 tables away. Oh how we laughed! Having been harangued by my mum over the years regarding the state of my bedroom/not putting my clothes away/loading the dishwasher I would sympathise greatly with the reviewer HAD ANY OF THIS HAPPENED.

I am told I cook a 'mean' roast so when we go out I often avoid ordering Sunday roast but today we couldn't resist and so glad we didn't. The roast lamb was so tender, hot, accompanied by lovely gravy and vegetables and even their Yorkshire pudding was pretty good for something produced for many people. Wow!!! Excellent value and the staff are so busy but so pleasant.

Arrived a little harassed due to waiting on painfully slow parking debacle caused by elderly clientele extracting themselves from their parking space. Anyhow. Entrance has moved since I last visited and steers you past goods before you find your way back to the cafe. Arrived just behind 3 generations including badly behaved spawn. Waitress clearly picked up on the horror on my face when she offered me a quiet table the opposite side of the cafe to the screeching ones. Ordered tea and picked out cake before we sat down. Tea cane quickly. Cake straight after. Tea is fabulous loose leaf. And the cake was amazing. Moist chunky slice of coffee and walnut for me. Most Victoria sponge for my mate. Great tea and cake. Great natter. Padded chairs had seen slightly better days. Pretty paper flowers on the table. But poor mobile reception and no clue about WiFi? I would highly recommend the tea and cake though.

Everything about our Sunday lunch was excellent. We all had the Rolled Shoulder of Lamb which was superbly cooked and served exceptionally well with piping hot vegetables. Staff were all friendly and accommodating and surroundings pleasant. Having such a good lunch encouraged us to look around the rest of the garden centre and spend. The garden centre is exceptionally well laid out with displays of paintings by local artists, furniture and a host of other interesting items. The whole visit was pleasurable.

Came here for a roast which was very tasty, we both had roast beef with red wine gravy which was delicious. Lots of meat and the portions were large. Both of us had dessert but these portions were much too big and more like sharing desserts so wasted half of it. Very nice food and service, would recommend :)

A friend and I were looking for a Housewarming Gift and decided to take a break. This is the second time I have visited the Cafe and was pleasantly surprised at the improvement. The menu was small with lots of choice and a specials board was available. There were fresh cakes etc on offer. The staff were very friendly, polite and helpful. We ordered a Cream Tea for two; the tea was served in a china pot with tea leaves which made a really good cuppa (tea strainer supplied, of course!) Extra hot water was available on request. The scones were very fresh and really tasty, with plenty of clotted cream and jam. The whole tea was nicely presented and decorated with fresh strawberries. Seeing the meals ordered by other customers, I am sure the quality was consistent.Although the cafe became busy, we did not feel hurried or in the way. The cost was very reasonable for the area.

Fabulous reasonably priced home cooked food, lovely, friendly staff, and the best homemade cakes for miles around!! I'm a big cake baker and can spot sponge mix in a jiffy, but none to be found here. All baked on the premises too. Also, super impressed with the price of wine by the bottle. I'm definitely going to make this a regular lunch spot!

After viewing the garden centres extensive range of outdoor furniture we decided to stay on for lunch and what a treat this turned out to be. My daughter and my wife chose a smoked salmon, avocado and new potato salad and my grand daughter and myself chose their home made beef & ale pie with mash potato. We all agreed that what we had chosen was exceptionally good. Living near Bognor we regularly buy Turners Pies and previously have given them 5 stars in a review and said that their steak & ale pie was the best I had ever had but this one was even better! We then tried 2 of their home made cakes with our tea and coffee, a carrot cake and a cappuccino cake and these too were outstanding. For the quality of what we received I think it is excellent value for money especially the delicious bottle of New Zealand Sauvignon Blanc at £16.95.When does a cafe become a restaurant? Personally I wouldn't call this a cafe as it has waitress service and they were all very helpful and friendly as well, they have a good selection of wine and bottled beer and to me it is more like a Bistro type restaurant which opens all day for either breakfast, lunch and afternoon tea.

I have visited Russells a number of times over the last few years and have always been very happy with the quality of the food, service and the price, however, on a recent visit things seem to have changed. The menu is extensive split into two sections of sandwiches, jacket patatoes, Welsh rarebit and the like and a second section of specials and main meals. I appreciate that everything has risen in price but meals were in the range that you would expect to pay in a restaurant not a cafe, but it is obviously down to the individual to decide if it represents good value for money. I visited with friends and I ordered a jacket patato with others ordering different food. I was very disappointed as there was a long wait before we received our food, which although nice was not exceptional and not as good as I remembered it to be (I'll put that down to getting older)Would I visit again yes, but the long wait and increase in price may steer me towards other establishments in nearby Chichester.

Chef Johnny has done it again! He's dared to create another absolutely delicious menu item at Russell's Cafe! If you have never had the pleasure of tantalising your tastebuds with his mushroom and asparagus risotto, then you haven't had real risotto. Everything about this dish is fantastic....it is full of several varieties of 'shrooms, asparagus cooked just right and a creamy base, seasoned to perfection. It is the BEST risotto I have ever tasted!!! Yes, this is yet another party in my mouth. If you are visiting the West Sussex Coast, stop in and see what Chef Johnny has up his culinary sleeve....trust me, you won't be sorry.

Popped in with my elderly mother and had a gorgeous bowl of soup with fresh bread ... we didn't need drinks and the waitress said it was no problem. Clearly homemade soup, nicely presented and piping hot.I then took my husband for a lunch on Saturday as we didn't want a pub ... again, very busy and it's obvious why. We both had home cooked ham, two eggs and chips and it really was beautiful with a side salad with dressing. So much nicer than we've had recently in some local pubs. All for about £21.00. Amazing.

Chef Ravi rose magnificently to the curry challenge! I managed to down about half my venison and prawn curries, served with rice and condiments, but luckily my companion finished his grilled skewer and demolished the rest. Terrific to have authentic Indian food available in Graffham (on special request). Bravo to the the White Horse for extending its excellent range.

My wife’s aunt and cousin enthused about this pub so we decided to have lunch with them on a Thursday in November. The pub is signposted from the main road and is down a narrow lane to Chidham with passing places at intervals. The car park at the back is not so large so many visitors seem to park in the village. Virtually every table was taken which is always a good sign for mid week dining. The four of us had a variety off of dishes and my seafood tagliatelle was delicious. We were very impressed with the speed of service from the two lovely ladies and lively atmosphere of the pub. The portions are quite large so if you have a smaller appetite we would recommend their small portion menu. My wife’s cousin recommended the mussels which were not on the menu the day we visited so we must return to try them. A very enjoyable lunch catching up with old friends too.

Visited here for afternoon tea. Welcome was ok, but then we waited for a while to see if there was a free table. Bizarrely no one else was in the cafe and the upstairs service where we were seated was almost unfriendly and you felt you were in the way. When we asked for a spoon for our tea we were greeted with a huff and puff… Gets good reviews elsewhere, but sadly not from us..

So disappointed by this place . First visit and won’t be returning! Ordered Avo on sourdough with poached eggs . Asked for the eggs to be well done . It wasn’t sourdough but cheap white bread . Eggs were runny so asked them to redo . 2nd attempt the eggs were still runny so my partner ate it . Large coffees ordered and just a normal sized cheap mug and not very hot . £17 totally wasted . We also ordered a croissant which was the only thing acceptable. Customer service - zero! Young staff who don’t care , smile or make u feel welcome . They need training asap or replacing . Us customers pay their wages - at least earn if . Doesn’t cost anything to be helpful or to smile . Will NOT be returning .
