We absolutely love this place ! Jamal, Sam and team are absolute diamonds and will create any dish to suite your mood... Tonight for example I had a king prawn ( in the shell ) syletti naga, with lemon, onion and garlic rice with a thin an crispy garlic nan bread and a pea salad ..... Non of it as per menu, I just told Sam what I felt like and Jamal created it .... Awesome food which arrived in good time with clean warm plates and a really nicely chilled white wine.... I've been to many a fancy restaurant and this is anything but and yes it does need a lick of paint and a new chair or 3 but this little gem just hits the spot with what matters... The food and wonderful service. Love Carl and Alicea

I was really looking forward to my Madras curry. One I have had too many times to mention. A rather disappointing experience though. A hot curry no doubt, but with little flavour I expected of a Madras. There was a Kingfisher beer tap on the bar, but no draught beer ! We had to settle for bottled lager. The service was fine, no issues there. Maybe try another dish next time ?

On holiday for a week, decided to Pick up a Indian takeaway one of my favourite meals, been this restaurant a few times before previously when on holiday. Starters were ok, the chicken madras what a disappointment really really bland, Garlic nan bread really stodgy. A curry in a jar would have more taste and a lot more cheaper.

Ordered 2 curries, Special Balti and Korahai, both advertised on the menu at Medium hot, no spice or heat what so ever in either, rice was luke warm, Nann bread was crispy and dry, starter tray and popadoms were just ok, went during the Covid Eat out to help out scheme, still ended up costing £50 with drinks (2 glasses of wine, 2 pints of beer and a coke) for 3 people. Was told we had to pay cash, manager sent us out to the cash machine when we said we didn’t have cash, which is very unusual during the current circumstances, so felt something a bit dodgy was going on as didn’t get an official till receipt. We like to help out local businesses during this difficult time but felt the way this place operates is a bit iffy being cash only. Tables were not distanced apart, although there was hand sanitiser and the track and trace form. Will not be going back.

Friendly, great service, really lovely curries. There's western food as well if you want it but we went the Naga. Best I've had, really. This place is well worth a visit if you're in the area. There's a car park right behind the place and parking across the street is usually possible. No cards, though, so pop to the cash point a few yards away before going!

Quiet midweek evening meal - Given that the area is so pretty and rustic the inside of this restaurant was pretty dull and unexciting. The staff however were friendly, the service was good and most importantly, the food tasted great. Very strange that they couldnt or wouldnt take payment by credit card so it was fortunate that I had some cash on me plus, the bill was very reasonable. In future I would probably enjoy the food by getting a take out and probably not eat in.

Visited for take away, were so disappointed at the quality and blandness of the food. Naan was tasteless, rogan josh curry was so bland which was probably because it was 80% tomato - what a waste of money as it was thrown in the bin due to literally being so tasteless it was inedible - avoid! Avoid! Avoid!

Having been around and eating curries for all on 40 years this has to be one of the best curry house I've had the pleasure to eat in. The food is outstanding served by the wonderful host Jamal. Caters for every palate tho I go for the red hot naga special...... while fiery hot the flavour is unbelievable. Cheap too and the Kingfisher is always bang on. I called off here on the way back from visiting family on the west coast breaking the drive back home. Limited car parking on the street outside. My visit was very early evening on a Wednesday. The restaurant is split on 2 levels and I was shown to an empty room on the lower level. It is furnished to a acceptable standard. I ordered a drink and popadoms with the pickle tray whilst I perused the menu. The pickle tray had a selection of 5 items and the popadoms were nice and fresh. I went for the chicken pathia for main served with 2 chaphatis. The main was hot temperature wise and nice and spicy although the amount of chicken in the dish was definitely on the small side which was a little disappointing. The chaphatis were fresh and tasty also. Overall a decent experience but nothing to distinguish it from other Indian restaurants. Perhaps sitting in an empty restaurant added to the lack of ambiance during my stay and detracted from the overall experience.

One of the big problems in the boutique towns of England is that by 9pm most places are dead, the few restaurants in town either closed or packed to capacity. What is one to do if one arrives somewhat late in these towns? Ruposhi Indian restaurant steps in with warm service, tasty food annnnnd..... they are open till 11pm! We reached this restaurant about 9pm and received unhurried service, everyone seemed rather laid back but in a good way. Me and my boyfriend were staying in Bentham for the weekend and ended up hear after we could smell the food from the street - and we are SO glad we followed our noses. There is a takeaway section and a restaurant section (upstairs and downstairs). We sat in and we had one of the tastiest meals we'd had in a long time - and possibly one of the best Indians I've ever had!We ordered a feast (we'd just got back from a long walk) and every single dish was divine. Portions are great, not excessive but hearty. It was a great mix of traditional curries and food, alongside some of our modern western interpretations (such as cheesy garlic naan). The only downside is that they don't take card. But this wasn't really a big deal as there's a card machine just round the corner. Overall I would highly recommend to anyone in the area. The food was delicious. The service was just perfect (everyone as so friendly). The price was great. Atmosphere was lovely. Definitely deserving of the 5 stars.I would also like to mention that as a vegetarian there was a ton of options for me - Almost every curry could be made vegetarian, and what I really liked was the different replacements they had for meat!

My wife's family live in high Bentham and this little place has been a regular haunt of ours when we visit. There is a wonderful selection of curries and the specials are very good. We have eaten most dishes on the menu and they are all freshly prepared and perfectly spiced. All the ingredients are well sourced and fresh, the various rices are particularly good (try the lemon rice!) And the naan breads are second to none. I always start with the hot meat on poori as it is honestly the best starter I have had in an Indian restaurant. The staff are very friendly and helpful and always ready to help with recommendations. The worst meal of my life (my mums cooking was bad) burnt offering would have been preferable and tastier. £49.95 for a set meal for 4 was £49 over priced. The rice looked like you should be fishing with it, totally off putting, as for the lamb, not quite sure the type of lamb it came from, both going into the freezer to pass on to environmental health, the rest as gone to the bin. We ordered a set meal for 4 for 3 of us with a view to freezing the remains for later. Meal seemed to be for 2 people as only two very small (inedible) pilar rice, most of the other dishes again seemed to be only enough for 2 apart from 6 identical dips, assumed was rattia with a slight tan (was beige in colour). The rest tasteless apart from the ghost chilli. It was our one and only take away from High Bentham village, we wont be back. Do NOT recommend. The only good things about the meal where the comical faces at each taste of each dish followed by the comments on taste and description. I will be sending the bill for any clean up needed of carpets of blocked loos.

Visited this place a few times and always been lovely. However tonight I went in with a friend and feel very ripped off. After ordering a starter to come out as a main we were shocked to find we were charged £8 for it. After bringing this up with the man serving we were just told firstly that we hadn't said that then that he didn't hear that. Finally when we told him we pointed out the food we wanted to order he claimed he hadn't seen that. Even using the excuse we should have known when it came out it wasn't a starter, how would we know what size a starter was when we had never ordered it before. Was made to feel like we were lying very bad attitude towards a complaint. Won't be going again, which is a shame as I live in the town and like to help local businesses.

Booked a table for 4 and received a warm welcome from the owner who was also acting as waiter as it was a quiet Tuesday night. He went out of his way to make sure we got everything we wanted, even to the extent of altering the strength of the curry sauce served with the biriani. Our table was nicely spacious and well set with a table cloth and provided with comfortable chairs. All the food was served hot and all portions generous. It was not only the quality of the food that impressed us but the efficient and helpful service. There is a good selection of wines but we stuck to Cobra beer which we believe enhances the taste of the food. The bill worked out at less than £15 a head, including the beers. The owner has worked hard over the last year to provide an outstanding restaurant in a small village and it deserves to be well supported. we visited this restaurant Saturday last for a meal we had booked for 4 adults at 8pm. we waited until 9pm for our starters to arrive after having asked twice about them. by 10 pm we hadn't been served any main courses to any of us. we had purchased three bottles of wine which we didn't mind and were enjoying. the restaurant was busy ,however to wait that length of time is totally unacceptable. never once did we get an update or apology from any staff member so we finally had to leave without any main dishes been served after 10.15 pm. we were highly disappointed as have had takeaways from here before to our van at parkfoot ingleton. we did explain why we were leaving but will be back as the food we did eat was excellent, just such a shame. they are just unable to cope with a very full restaurant on a sat eve.

Ate here on a Tuesday night - lovely place and a warm welcome. The food took a little longer than in other Indian restaurants, but my word it was worth the wait - extremely lovely tikka marsala - if we lived in the Dales I am sure we would definitely go again.

I have had both a take away and eat in and on both occasions the food was amazing. The portions were big and the price was low. We especially like the Wednesday offer of 4 courses which was brilliant. Just wish I lived nearer so I could visit more often.

High quality Indian and Bangladeshi food served in understated surroundings in a friendly and homely manner, and not expensive. We were there for my Father's Day dinner. Happily my daughter lives nearby so every excuse for repeated visits.

Certainly better than average Indian restaurant. Really friendly and Jamal will go out of his way to accommodate your wishes. Definitely a cut above.

Good food, well served by friendly people. All the main dishes can be tweaked, no problem - extra chillies or slightly milder. Well worth a visit.

Very friendly and effecient service from the lovely owner. Great food and good menu choice. This restaurant has only been open for three months so it is fresh, clean, and modern. It is well worth a visit if you are staying in one of the nerby pubs or B&B's. Locals have a treat on their doorstep!

We order from this takeaway regularly. Decided to order via phone rather than just eat, to save us extra charges and them. When they show up they charged us extortionate prices for the bare minimum food order we ordered. Put it this way they were very expensive kebabs and donner meat and chips! When rung and confronted about this price they told us they charge just eat prices even without just eat taking the extra cost from them which they don’t state on their business website and had no explanation for this really either. Poor customer service and quite frank a Robbing service too! Think before ordering as I’m sure you could get the same food at half the price elsewhere. Daylight robbery whether they’re over charging or the delivery guy is pocketing the extra money!

Our second visit, while staying nearby on holiday. Generous portions and great value. Could have done with a reminder that it is cash only when ordering by phone, but a cash point is just round the corner. Looking forward to our next visit

Beware if there is only 2 of you wanting to eat out here. Waiter refused to let us sit on a table for 4 because there was only 2 of us. There were 3 empty tables for 4 plus 1 table for 2, but that was pushed up to the service counter and that was the table the waiter offered us. We didn't want to sit immediatly next to where customers would be hovering over us whilst paying for and collecting take-aways and where the phone was ringing and conversations between the waiter and customers were regularly taking place. When he said we couldn't sit elsewhere, I said 'we'll leave it then'. Then the waiter responded, in a sarcastic voice, with a 'BYEEE'. So that's a loss of income for them of between £1500-£1700 over the next year as we would have called in for a sit down meal for two every fortnight, plus a takeaway for two once a fortnight. We then had a meal at one of their competitors and then walked around Settle before heading off home. Whilst walking around Settle we looked into the Spice restaurant again to see if all the tables that we had been refused the use of, had now been taken. There were still 3 tables for 4 that were empty, plus the same table for 2, that is pushed up to the counter, was also empty. PS We had been to the Spice a fortnight earlier and the same waiter had tried to have us sit at the same table by the counter. On that occasion we asked if we could sit on another table and when he said no, we asked 'why not?' He then said 'ok' and we sat elsewhere. We didn't want to go through the same 'negotiation' for a second time. It's dimple, if they don't value us as customers then we'll spend our money elsewhere.

After reading the reviews, we booked for dinner here. I have to say, given all the reviews and all their accolades, we were expecting great things. Firstly, the staff seemed disinterested and bored. The restaurant was pretty cold, despite the fact we were sitting next to a radiator. I had the vegetable Balti, which was just OK. It tasted like they had used mixed frozen vegetables and the sauce was nothing special. My husband had Hydra Badi Chicken, and said it was one of the blandest curries he had ever tasted. It wasn't a bad meal, but did not meet the hype...or come anywhere close.
