Ruchee Restaurant in Craven

We got accommodated without booking on a Saturday night, which was great. The food has been delicious and flavoursome every time we've been here. The special naan was probably not worth it compared to garlic one but never the less the whole meal was worth it. Lovely music, polite waiters. You can bring your own alcohol

Was really looking forward to our meal(take away) as had read the amazing reviews. Was so very disappointed, food absolutely lacking in taste, was very oily and had skim oil from the top of the containers before attempting to eat. The food stained work surfaces! Only ate 20% of our order and binned. Would not recommend!

Located in heart of Yorkshire Dales, high quality and tasty food, warm welcoming environment, staff and owner were really polite. Fish curry and lamb curry was really tasty,very quick service would definitely be going agai, several times Award winner ( Best in Yorkshire )

Not much of a welcome , no one actually took our drinks order then Given the option for buffet so we decided to take it , first customers of the evening in , we watched the food been placed in the serving dishes so we were expecting nice hot food . Sadly onion baggies cold so after eating them we thought we were going to go for the mains but also Luke warm . Never have we ever eaten pillar rice with this flavour before it tasted like there was a whole jar of cardem pods in it . Only good thing was the popper doms. Pretty much all the buffet tasteless !!!!!!! We shall not be returning and would DEFINITELY NOT RECOMMEND!!!!!!!!

This place is quality. It would be easy to go for the easy option with a captive audience but here they seem to go for excellence. Great tasting food, good ingredients and plenty of it. Well done!

The jalfrezi was bland, not spicy. No chillis as you would usually find in a jalfrezi. Asked for a Diet Coke with my meal it never arrived so a good job it wasn’t spicy as I ate my meal with no drink. My partner got the buffet which was stone cold. The waiters response was people keep leaving the kids open …. Is this not a health and safety issue? He ordered a tikka massala from the menu instead which arrived with about 3 pieces of chicken in. Told waiter the meal was rubbish but he couldn’t care less. Avoid at all costs

Came here for our evening meal. We hadn't booked a table, but luckily we're able to be seated prior to a later booking as they were fully booked. So I'd advise to book. Although when entering, there was nobody in there at all. Seems like most book for around 7pm onwards as it did get busy. Staff were friendly and attentive. Food was really good. Some of the best onion bhajis we've had. Wasn't overly expensive either. Definitely recommend.

We went to Ruchee’s on a Wednesday when there was a special offer - £15 for a starter and four mains. We all had a great welcome from Ali and were shown to our table. The staff were most attentive and looked after us very well. The onion bhajis were delicious but they are certainly not for the faint-hearted being very large. We forgot to take alcoholic drinks so drank tap water which was probably better for us! We cannot speak highly enough of this fine and authentic restaurant. Thank you. Ruchee is an excellent restaurant. We were lucky to get a table with a last-minute booking on a Saturday night, and I'm glad we got in. The food was excellent and the atmosphere buzzing but not too loud. The service wasn't quite 5 stars - we felt a bit forgotten in the corner - but overall I would definitely go again. Good value too.

Simple. This is the best Indian food we have eaten in a long time. Here in Settle on a walking holiday and ate at Ruchees just the once as we were recommended to eat at the other Indian restaurant in the town, but that was not a patch on Ruchees. Everything was hot. My Kazimira was packed with prawns, and the two rice dishes were excellent. Not licensed, so take your own. Reasonably priced as well. One small complaint. The staff were a bit miserable !

Lovely Restaurant & fantastic food. Imran was friendly and super helpful, but in stark contrast, there's a young kid there who clearly doesn't want to be, and has the customer service skills of a washing up brush!!

Having been to this restaurant a few time we found the food was great and the service was very good. On our last visit though my wife found a hair in her chicken curry. No apology was given and we were still charged the full price.

Came here twice during the course of a 3 night stay in the Dales, that probably says it all! Wednesday night has a very generous £15 meal offer, especially as the food is delicious. Even when we returned on Friday night, the meal came to less than £25 per person. That was poppadoms, main, side and drinks. The service was brilliant as well. Can totally recommend!

We have been eating here since they opened 27 years ago. The food is always of the highest stand and is very good value for money. The Ruchee is certainly worth driving to even if you are not staying in Settle. Quality food which is served efficiently and the staff are always friendly.

Absolutely fantastic service, great food , only problem is I have not stopped leaking gas for the last 3 hours. If I lit a match this whole house would go up in flames. Would go back though

The mixed grill was very tasty. However the service was poor. We had to ask twice for water. The waiters didn’t seem to know how to have a conversation and were not friendly. Wouldn’t return.

We visited Ruchee for the Sunday buffet, having ordered from the main menu the last time we came. The buffet was £13.95 per adult which was amazing value!! There were three starters; onion bhajis, vegetable samosas and chicken tikka with salad and mint chutney, mains were garlic chicken, chicken tikka masala and a lamb curry and veg mains were vegetable biriyani, Bombay potatoes and cauliflower curry, the sides were pilau rice, naan and chips. Everything was absolutely delicious!!! We left feeling very full and very well looked after as the staff are always so friendly and helpful! It is amazing value for money as all the dishes were great quality and super delicious. Would 100% recommend and would suggest booking as it started at 6pm and was almost full by 6.30pm!! Thank you so much Ruchee, excellent meal and we’ll definitely visit again when back in Yorkshire!!!

gorgeous food and they went the extra mile to accommodate our large order. I wish it was local to us but we ordered while on holiday. I had the lamb tikka korma and it was to die for, Everyone else was happy with their food too although we are all used to a little more coconut filling in a peshwari naan.

We were looking for a relaxed family meal out and this place did not disappoint. All staff were lovely and friendly. Very knowledgeable in their food and happy to give suggestions to diners and give their time to explain the menu. For a family of five it cost us £80 and we were all well fed and very happy. It’s difficult to please three teenagers with different tastes but this place did the job. I tried the chicken hydrabadi, something from the specials menu that I’d not heard of before, and it was delicious. Well worth trying something new.

Excellent food and service! We ordered onion bhajis to start which were delicious! The Butter chicken and vegetable rice were the highlight of the meal and so was the exceptional service from Mohammad! He was so friendly and helpful, we really enjoyed chatting to him. The prices were also very reasonable. Would definitely visit again to try more of the menu, a wonderful Indian restaurant!! (It’s also BYO which is a nice option, soft drink variety was fab with a banana lassi!!)

Visited many times and never had an issue, however on our last visit we waited for two hours for food with extremely poor service as with many others whom were also complaining. Let’s hope it was merely a blip on this occasion as the food was lovely once it arrived but we were all past eating after waiting so long

Great Indian food with a varied menu. Service was faultless. We were early and the restaurant was quiet, therefore 3 stars for atmosphere. I am sure that later in the evening it would be much livelier.

We have previously enjoyed great takeaway food from Ruchee but on this occasion we dined in. Wonderful food again and we had a great mixture of flavours between the 6 of us. Please be aware that it is a BYO restaurant but drinks can be purchased at a nearby shop. Definitely recommended.

Absolutely poor.. the worst jalfrezi ever, it was a curry gravy, unflavoured chicken and chilli,No tomatos onion or green pepper. Chicken ticka tastless. Messed up our order and then came with what was missed after we had eaten. Usually they go over your order again to ensure they get it right. Would not recommend, only went as the other one had no space.. I wonder why??

Great Indian takeaway in the heart of Settle. The food is mouthwateringly delicious, I had the Kashmiri Asian style and it was one of the best curries I've ever tasted. If you like your Indian food with more of a traditional twist then look no further.

Food: Food was amazing we ordered to much between the two of us. For the starter we had onion bhajis the size of a fist, personally we think they were too big but tasted fantastic. Both the curry’s we got, tasted lovely with bold and distinct flavors. The spice was perfect for us. Drinks: They have original cokes in the glass bottle. I don’t know why but they always taste better in them. Service: The service was amazing the main server we had was Mohamed ( sorry if I’ve spelt it wrong) he was very friendly and helpful no words to describe his kindness. 10/10 for him. All the staff checked if we were okay and if we were enjoying our food. As soon as we stepped in they welcomed us and sat us down when we asked for drinks the swiftly arrived. The starters didn’t take long to come out less the six minutes. Main took probably ten minutes less. Ambiance: The perfect Indian/Pakistan restaurant the inside was very well decorated. Really great place hidden away off the high street. Great food and great service. We took our two young daughters there, they had never been to an Indian restaurant before and they really enjoyed the food. They were so full they could not fit in a dessert!

Honestly, the best curry we've had in years. We had the hyderabadi (beautifully spiced) and the Desai which was also delicious. Despite it being really busy the waiters were really friendly, and it was good value too.

What a wonderful restaurant! The haddock pakora I had as a starter was superb, so fresh with beautiful crispy spiced batter. An outstanding dish! The Hydrabadi Chicken was quite simply the best dish I've had for a long long time; if ever. Wonderful mix of flavours; exactly as advertised. Special. Rice and naan also superb, as was the polite and really attentive service.

In first place we went to Royal Oak for a drink, and we had chose to have fish and chips in there or go for nice Indian dish, with nice staff. Man came and ask us what will like to eat,and told him preffered such a dish like achari. He introduce to us what is similar to this, and recommended another dish which we could share. It was best choice.

The food is always delicious when we come here! Great value for money on the Wednesday Deal. Service is always good. We will definitely be back.
