Manager friendly and recommend Ribs!! O my best ribs we have ever tasted! Meat fell off the bone, I wouldn’t have a starter as very filling. We will be back. Thank you! Ps Our daughter says thanks for the extra mints 🤣

Clean, chic, sophisticated venue. From the moment we entered the restaurant, the welcome was warm and friendly. The manager, Asif, greeted us like VIPs. He was engaging and professional with a caring and responsive approach. He made us feel like regulars, even though this was our first visit. The staff were attentive, knowledgeable and professional, smiling and making eye contact. Top marks all tound for customer service. The food was amazing! Two of us had the sirloin, which was perfectly cooked to our requirements. We also had the prawns as a starter and the beef ribs. Again, beautifully prepared and cooked. The side salad was a great mix and we thoroughly enjoyed our meal. We will definitely return again and again to Rump and Ribs. It is of the highest standards in terms of the customer experience . I cannot fault it. It reminded me of the legendary steakhouses in London of the 1980s, where atmosphere, environment and quality food were in abundance. We have been looking for such a restaurant ever since and we have found it at Rump and Ribs. Outstanding!

I visited rump and ribs , for the first time . I had the pleasure to meet Asif . As a wheelchair user I feel uneasy to come to come to restaurants . He made me feel comfortable and at ease . He helped us choose what to order and went through each piece of steak . Amazing customer service . I will be returning back

The ribs were to die for and the service was excellent. My partner and I came in for valentines and the owner gave everyone a rose and chocolates. The banter with the owner made the experience even better. It was such a lovely atmosphere and it is now my go-to in Manchester!

Saw reviews about the manager being a bit of a problem but we didn’t have any of those issues, he was happy and kept coming over asking if we needed anything whereas the other staff didn’t. They took the plates while other members of the party were still eating which made us feel a bit rushed, and when it came to pay kept just staring at us. Even though we’d just finished our food 5 minutes before. However, the food was pretty good. The portion of chips was on the smaller side but they were decent chips, and the meat was well cooked. Be aware there are no deserts and they will point you to a place next door.

I’m originally Canadian and have recently been exploring more of the UK and it’s food. Having eaten ribs at various places in various countries, I can confidently say these were the best ribs I’ve ever had. They fell off the bone and were very flavourful. The manager himself checked on us multiple times to ensure the food was good and that we were comfortable - he also led me to the little prayer room which is always a nice feature to have. The mashed potatoes with gravy on top as a side was the perfect addition. I will definitely be coming again and have already recommended it to my friends and family.

Ate here for the first time after hearing a lot of good things and I have to say it didn’t disappoint! We ordered the ribs as mains and they were falling off the bone, they were so tender! The mash was delicious and creamy, and with the gravy was a perfect side for a lovely meal. On top of that, the service was great and the wait for food was next to nothing. Now that I’ve tried it myself, I think I’ll be back here a lot.

These have got to be the best ribs I have every had the owner brought me some chips trust me you don't need chips they drop of the bone melt in the mouth absolutely brilliant. And the staff friendly helpfull what more can one ask for would give 6 stars if I could

Friendly manager and busy restaurant. The waiting staff were not personable and didn’t ask what our preference was to serving main after starter. No sooner had we finished our starter, the plates were cleared and the main was on the table. Too quick and when we were having rare steaks, it didn’t need that rush, so we didn’t enjoy it. The ribs are wonderful but my rare fillet was cold in the middle (I did tell them but you can’t cook it more because it wouldn’t be rare). My colleagues t-bone had a lot of gristle, so he left lots. The waiter didn’t even ask how our meal was during and after eating. We couldn’t be asked to say anything, because company paying but if that was my money I would have kicked up a stink. Moreover, the chips were McCains frozen chips so basic and cheap. Paying £28 for a fillet and then £3.50 for oven chips is a bit steep even in a city. Service charge automatically added which we should have had removed. Not going again which is a shame because the ribs are fantastic.

We've been coming to this restaurant for our anniversary every year since it opened and the food and service are absolutely phenomenal each time. I highly recommend the combo platter for two - everything on that plate is a winner. The steaks we ordered - a fillet and a rib eye - were flavourful and beautifully done. The sides and sauces were great, too. Thank you, brother Asif and the team, for looking after us!

I have never been to restaurant with such horrible service. The manager was treating us as if we have never been to a restaurant before. He wanted us to eat and leave…..he was trying to act very smart, we got the bill as soon as we finished the meal without asking. I am sorry but the steak was not cooked the way we want it to be . It was not worth the money…….can not stand the manager’s attitude, he should realise it’s because of customers like us he is employed. The owners should consider employing someone else. NEVER GOING THERE AGAIN

The steaks were good quality and correctly / well cooked, but base price only included steak (extra for sauces, extra for vegetables / side dishes), which it makes it quite expensive.The restaurant was well located, clean and friendly and the service was good.Overall happy & worth a visit if you like your steaks.

So,here's the background to this little story.Five of us had gone to the lakes,we were on the way back home,Manchester seemed a convenient stop. We were tired and more importantly,we were hungry.Someone suggested this place,everyone agreed.We got there at 9pm,it closed at 10.30. We were told that it was fully booked and that they couldn't accommodate five people. As I'd walked up to the building I could see that it was about a third full,who's going to go there on a cold Sunday evening at 9pm......apart from us.Obviously we didn't want to argue the toss. We were stood outside and the waiter said that we're going to call the boss.TBH I was engrossed in my phone,the next thing I knew these two men were talking outside the restaurant.One of the blokes was in his mid 40s, 5'7ish,and bald,or nearly there, dressed very casually / semi rough,like he's just filled up a skip. I initially thought he was drunk,his eyes were all over the place and he had a semi aggressive vibe about him. He was talking to a man in a white shirt.It very quickly transpired that this oaf was the owner and that the bloke in the white shirt was the waiter.It got worse. He came over to us,he wasn't really interested in what we had to say. His general demeanour ftom the offset was ' I'm doing you a favour '.One of the lads did tell him a Porky. He said ' We've come all the way from Scotland ' . This was a lie,The lad was from Scotland,but he lived in Liverpool. The response was ' I don't care where you've come from ' nice.He did eventually seat us. The food was very good,although there is a slight gripe about this. The steaks do not come with anything [ No sides or sauce ]. At this price most places give you at least the sauce with the steak,if not A side as well. This adds about a Fiver to the price of a steak. The service was very good,the decor was nice,the hygiene of the establishment was on point,but this isn't the reason this review only gets 1 circle,it was the attitude of the owner that messed up the experience.He came around at the end of the meal,bringing the chef with him,he said to the chef ,' These lads are saying that the food was S**t '. Maybe he thought that was funny,or maybe he was just trying to undermine the chef,but it was a typically cheap move.Maybe he should be pulling punters off the street into a brothel in benidorm,I think that would suit his skill set,running a restaurant in Manchester City centre....maybe not.Mind you....There was a silver lining. The bill came and there was a £15 service charge on it.There was a degree of satisfaction getting that removed,knowing it wasn't going into.his greasy pocket.We did leave lively,one of the lads said that in a previous review he did challenge a customer who had the service charge removed.....Result.

We turned up on the off chance of a table needing somewhere to eat before a gig at the castlefield bowl with my mum who is on crutches and has limited mobility. Despite being fully booked Asif the manager made arrangements to make sure we could get a table and give my mum plenty of space for her leg. Avoid at all cost I traveled from Birmingham today with my family been stuck in traffic on the M6 for about an hour we just about made it to the restaurant, my wife called saying we are running late the person who answered the phone was rude and said we can only hold the table for 10mins. When we got to the restaurant I ordered a Steak fillet which was the size of a lamb chop food was rubbish and the service, over priced don’t waste your money going to this rubbish place.

Food was great, waiting staff are lovely and polite. Surprisingly, it’s the “Manager” that lets this place down. Booked a table a couple of days before and was practically rushed off the phone. Tried to use Meerkat discount and was advised by the manager you didn’t tell us on the phone so you can’t use it. I have been before here and had no issues using it. He flatly refused. I understand there are rules but his attitude and obnoxious behaviour put a dampener on what was a lovely meal out with the family. If you’re using the Meerkat discount tell them on the phone at time of booking and also when you arrive at the restaurant otherwise they will try to get out of letting you use it!

I dont usually travel far for food however drove 2 and a half hours to come to Rump and Ribs and honestly have to say it is one of the best steak places I've been to and in the past I have been to many. Not only for their quality steak which was made to perfection but also their service. We were mainly serviced by the manager Asif who made us feel so welcome and bantered very well. We were a group of 5 and he made us all laugh throughout the time of eating their and my partner said it is the BEST made steak he has ever had and to be honest every other steak place I have been to has been nice however they have never made it exactly how I wanted until I ate here. We also had the BBQ ribs (I dont usually like ribs) but these were amazing, tender and with a lot of meat rather than fat and overall an amazing experience and we will definitely be visiting again. First time going here for my brother in laws birthday, and it was absolutely delicious! The food was so neatly presented, the atmosphere was top notch and the taste was definitely up there with the best steaks ive had. Also, the ribs are to die for!! Definitely having that as a main instead of starters next time. I opted for the sirloin which was cooked to perfection and was perfectly seasoned. They also sang happy birthday and made the birthday boy feel really special, especially the owner asif. If you’re thinking of going here, i would say definitely go and try the ribs

We visited as a group of 7 but were unaware we had to make a reservation. The manager Asif went out his way to accommodate us and the service we received from all staff members after that was amazing. When the food arrived it was equally amazing. Me and a few friends went for a celebratory meal to rump and ribs and we hadn’t tried steak or ribs from many other places so didn’t really know what to expect. As soon as we entered, the manager Asif promptly seated us and served us the finest mock tails which were really refreshing!! The popular BBQ ribs fell off the bone and were super soft and heavenly, definitely something you will only find in this restaurant. It is unlike anything I have ever tried before. The portions of the Fillet steak, although seemingly small, we’re MORE than enough and I found that just ordering 2 sides to share between two people was enough to accompany everyone’s steaks. The peppercorn sauce was also very well complimenting to the steak, and I couldn’t have asked for any better service. Hi Defo visit if you are in Manchester

Upon entering restaurant was packed out and looked like we'd have to wait (tip: future visitors should reserve a table before hand) Luckily, manager Asif came round and offered us a table which we were over the moon for. My only experience of ribs is one other restaurant in London and I was told these were better! I was not disappointed.Both steak and ribs were beautiful (ribs fell off the bone), so much so I had a second helping. Staff were very friendly and Asif is an absolute asset to the business. We travelled from Midlands and had been told to try. I called many times throughout the day. No answer. So we decided it must be a case of walk in, we managed to eventually find parking. We walked in and we were asked if we had. A reservation. I did state no but I have been trying to call to arrange. The gentleman was rude. Think May have been the manager. Middle aged spiked shoes. No other way to describe him. Kept shaking his head. No no no. We’re busy. No apology. No response as to why no one would be answering. We called Etci Mehmet who answered immediately to tell us they were fully booked. And very apologetic. Service goes a long way. Will not return to rump and ribs. Won’t even recommend. As we walked out with our children. We noticed a sign on the window stating. No prams / pushchairs allowed. What do they expect if a new mother or father wanted a meal with a newborn? Ridiculous if you ask me.

Worst place ever I would definitely not recommend to anyone the service was appalling as the waiter was very grumpy when taking our order didn’t even smile once tried the place out first time and never again, asked for well done and it come out raw spoke to the manager and he tried saying thats how its meant to be. Didn't feel welcome with my husband and little boy. We were told no prams. Which is fine . When we were taken to our table we were rushed with our food. The owner didn't crack a smile. The staff didn't bother to check if we needed anything. We felt like this place is only suitable for couples and anyone with a small child is an inconvenience. Really disappointed. The food itself was bland and my husband's steak was underdone. Normally we would complain but we just wanted to get out fast as I don't think they cared anyway.

The first thing we were told when we took our place at this American style diner was that the ribs were sold out. We had prawn and chicken wing starters which were very good. We ordered filet steaks for main course with chips, spinach and mushrooms. The sides were delicious but the steaks were hard and chewy. As we were leaving the waiter bought out four plates of ribs to the table next to us. They also add a service charge without telling you.

I didn’t know the Resturant until we seated….was disappointing as steak without red wine feels like something missing …never mind we were tired so decided go ahead.The person …I think he is the staff manager sounded too friendly to the point we felt abit uncomfortable with his attitude…. Our table was just at vintage point to observe the grill and the chef ….Mash potatoes kept in big green bucket under service desk by the grill …..the Scen wasn’t tempting at all

Me and my girlfriend went here for the first time. We’re quite easy when it comes to food, based on the reviews it looked decent. We had the wings which were ok. The ribs looked like a “popular” choice so we both had those. Worst ribs I’ve had in my life, it’s got so much barbecue sauce on them that they were swimming in it. We also got Steak Cut Chips (average) , Coleslaw (average) and Seasonal Veg that looked like a bag of £1 mixed veg from Tesco that was chucked in a microwave to steam. If you have any taste, avoid this place. The seasoning they chose was from asian cuisines e.g Pakistani/Indian which isn’t typically in an American diner. Go to a proper diner next time and don’t make the same mistake as us. £55 for all the above and they didn’t even have burgers in stock. Won’t be going again.

OK, with all places there are positives and negatives. On the down side i ordered medium and it came medium rare but i had read other reviews and was expecting it so i got what i really wanted.............thats the end of the negatives. On the positives the steaks ( we had T-bones and prime ribs were well seasoned and tasty. The sides were cooked perfectly and the peppercorn and mushroom sauces excellent. However, thats half the story, the ribs are simply the best i have ever had and i have tried them all over the US including the rib capital of Nashville Tennessee. Add to that excellent service led by manager Asif.Excellent, well worth a visit

Excellent food and service. A bit pricey but this was to celebrate my son’s exam results. The staff were very accommodating and allowed us to take a seat earlier than booked as it was raining. The buffalo ribs were particularly delicious. Most of our party had T-bone steak which was great (the sauces were particularly good) and I had the sea bass which was also cooked perfectly. The food also arrived speedily. Would definitely eat here again (this was our first visit).

We came to Manchester for our anniversary meal. I had called up to book a table and spoke to a guy called Asif. From the beginning asif made our experience one of the best. I’m a strong believer that customer service changes an experience and for sure we had an amazing experience. The mocktails were out of this world, me and my husband both had two different types of Mojito’s. we then had T-bone steak with a set of sides, hands down one of the BEST steaks I’ve tasted. Cooked to perfection! They surprised us with a complimentary dessert at the end. We will definitely be coming back to this place! Thank you to Asif for being a wonderful host, he makes the place!

Went in for first time whilst driving past no reservation booked but Asif (the owner) fixed us a table last min and completely took care of us ordered for us and it was perfect definitely knows what he’s doing!!Asif has very dry sarci sense of humour but it works definitely will be going back!

I have been to Rump n Ribs a few times and every time the food and hospitality has been amazing. The quality of the meat is very tender and flavoursome, cooked to a high standard (especially the ribs!) The service is above and beyond; the manager Asif is very welcoming and is great at helping to recommend choices on the menu suitable for all and are sure to be received well! I cannot fault the place!

Much more better steak places in Manchester who actually know how to cook steak according to customers preference.The positive reviews are highly questionable staff and manager do not know how to welcome customers and look clueless.A heads up that the 10% service charge is discretionary as stated on the menu so it is up to you if you want to add this on your bill and in my case absolutely not.

I've been wanting to visit for MONTHS! And we finally managed to go! What an amazing place!!! The ribs were amazing and the meat practically fell off the bone. Let’s just say the owner (says he’s the manager, who knows) is one foul guy with a superiority complex.. Mr Asif can be a blunt character but there is a level to that. The whole visit declined to the point it ended in a complete commotion between I and this moron. We arrived on time waiting for 2/6 members however got seated by Asif who kept eyeballing the table and letting us know that if the other two won’t be here in the next 2mins that he will separate the tables therefore they wouldn’t be seated - OK… instantly just the way he said stuff was like he was constantly barking at us from the get go, we told him that the other two were literally parking and walking in… we all drove separately and took different routes so take that into consideration. He informed us that some of the stuff wasn’t available on the menu such as the ‘sirloin steak etc’, we cooperated and ordered what was available. He took our orders really quick demanding that it’s busy when there were tables free and to check supplies as it was ‘the last of whatever was left’ - as a customer, who wants to hear that?..it was an 8.30pm booking, what is wrong with this guy, the vibe was already getting uncomfortable. The order came slightly messed up with a switch up on sides and sauces but managed to get them swapped, average food this time to say the least.Anyway - thank god the bill was on the table and it was soon to go! We noticed he charged us for an extra side and a service charge which we decided we weren’t paying (not after his rotten attitude) and brought this to his attention as my friend said it quite bluntly (the kind of blunt he dishes out), this was obviously going to rattle him further as he walked off tearing the receipt and came back with the new one. We paid, I mentioned that the way he explained stuff to us when my two friends came threatening to give the table away while 4/6 of us were sat on it could’ve been handled better but yet again there he went barking off in a ridiculous manner, the service charge issue must of got to him.When you think it couldn’t get any worse, he approaches the table of girls opposite us and is taking their photo for them and slides a comment bad-mouthing us naming us somewhat ‘horrible people..’ which my sister heard as she was stood right behind him as we prepared to leave. What a petty man really, insulting customers to other customers which we surely didn’t appreciate as that was enough for me, who does he think he is?Anyway.. I came back in saying excuse me and asked him what he was playing at as he was stood taking photos still of the same girls the absolute melt. I’m not the confronting type but don’t mug people off because if anyone was horrible it was HIM. Right from the minute we walked in. Best believe he liked to make a scene in his own frigging restaurant as he shouted ‘GET OUT WHATEVER’, I think I lost it at that point as we came head-to-head and the F word was flying about, my brother was next to me and came forward telling him to back off because this grown ass man was trying to get all up and personal, the waiters were holding him like an uncontrolled dog without a leash, on which planet does someone at his age behave like that?! Clearly someone without any common decency.It should of never got to that, it was embarrassing, must of been entertaining for the rest of the customers in there watching, why I stooped to his level only god knows why but I guess he brought out the ‘horrible’ in me and got a taste of his own medicine. Mr Asif, you’re pathetic, damn right rude and you belong to the streets. May I never see that disgusting face of his again. Nasty piece of work.Its worth reading the other negative reviews which are all about him as I’m not blowing this out of proportion.

I have been meaning to visit Rump n Ribs for some time and my son decided to take me as birthday meal. My son went in while i was looking for a parking spot - unfortunately having parked i had a slight accident and cut my hand quiet badly and was bleeding a lot. As I walked into the restaurant - Asif, the manager saw i was bleeding and immediately came to assist me and check i was ok - i was able to get some plasters but the bleeding was quiet bad and despite Asif providing me with wipes and tissues, i felt uncomfortable and decided to leave to get my cut seen to - i explained to Asif and he was really supportive - i left and was able to get the cut seen to and called Asif back 30 mins or so later and explained i have now sorted out my cut and if possible can i get a table - i know it was a bank holiday and they were fully booked so wasn't confident - Asif was amazing, once he had checked i was ok he told me to come back to the restaurant and they will accommodate me and my son - we got back to the restaurant and i was greeted by Asif and he checked i was ok and then immediately seated me. Asif made sure we had everything through out our meal and regularly came and checked up on me, as did a number of the staff who has seen me bleeding.The food and rinks were absolutely amazing and normally that would be the highlight of my review and i don't want to do the food an injustice it really was 10/10 but what really made the day and the meal a great experience was Asif - he really went above and and beyond was extremely accommodating - he really made the meal a great experience - I just want to say thank you to Asif for everything he did yesterday and ensuring my Birthday meal was great . Really highly recommend this place not just for great food but also for the great staff - especially Asif. Will defo be back and worth the 1.5 journey

Really wanted to try this place and had come from Newcastle. Asif, the manager accommodated for us despite being very busy and fully booked, made our night in Manchester! Customer service was great and the food was very good! Was worth the trip and the staff are really friendly. We had ribs and the t-bone steak, both cooked to perfection. Highly recommend this place to anyone visiting Manchester.

Great hospitality from Asif. Amazing food and recommendations. He went above and beyond to accomodate all our needs. Will definitely be back in future!

I travelled all the from outer London just so I could try these ribs. It was worth it!The portion was huge. Much more meat on these bones than you get in most steakhouses and the price was cheap as chips I'm trying to convince my friends to do a day trip up to Manchester just to try this place out.

We ordered RumpnRibs tonight to take away, and were slightly concerned if the steak would taste as good as it does in the restaurant. We’re extremely pleased to say that it tasted EXACTLY as it does in the restaurant! The steak, sides, and sauces were all amazing and we would definitely order this meal as a takeaway again. The ribs were so soft and succulent and coming away from the bone. The prawns have a lovely kick to them. And the lovely manager gave us free drinks too! A fantastic experience, and the best meal we’ve had this year!

The Ribs were absolutely stupendous, the meat slid right off the bone with every rib! Truly fantastic. The gourmet chicken burger was also very tasty. What stood out most was the very personal yet professional customer service! Plaudits to Asif and the team.Will definitely come again.

Excellent reception from the manager Asif, he made us feel so welcome and assisted us with the order. So respectful told my boys mum’s always come first! Excellent food the quality was delicious beautiful presentation and substantial quantity. Well worth the effort of coming out for family time during unprecedented times

Always a great visit. The ribs are the best I have ever tried. The taste is unreal! I always get the fillet steak and I amNever disappointed.Would definitely recommend booking in advance..it’s always busy here. Also.. service is amazing here. Very friendly (especially the owner) and food comes pretty quick!

Asif recibió una cálida bienvenida y brindó un excelente servicio durante toda nuestra comida. Todo el personal fue amable.La comida llegó muy rápido. Los entrantes eran divinos, ya que nos permitimos probar unas sabrosas y grandes costillas a la barbacoa y deberíamos haber comido un poco más. La comida era normal esperaba algo mejor, tbhEl servicio al cliente es totalmente impactante, todo el personal lo mira fijamente durante toda su estadía hasta que se va y lo hace sentir muy incómodo. 2 metros de distancia por las restricciones de Covid está fuera de la ventana, aquí está abarrotada de mesa, tuve que pedir que pusieran un divisor para que pudiéramos comer.El personal trató de limpiar los platos con mi hija todavía comiendo y se sintió apuradoLa mejilla agregó un 10% de cargo por servicio que me quitó el cargo por servicio, ¿por qué si hubiera un servicio provisto? Buena comida, porciones tan sabrosas y grandes. Buen valor para el dinero. El único inconveniente es que el hombre principal es demasiado mandón con el personal y ruidoso. Sin respeto hacia el personal. También me sentí apresurado cuando estuvimos allí. Pero no me puedo quejar del sabor de la comida. ¡Esas costillas son increíbles! !
