Ruchi in Swindon

We were in Swindon for the day and fancied a curry... Came across Ruchi and we are so glad we did! Nice atmosphere with lightening and tables. The main guy serving was so friendly and helpful! I always like a bit of a recommendation and guidance to what curry to go for, and he was so helpful and didn't mind at all! Myself and my partner had Chicken Tikka and Onion Bhajis to start which were very yummy and good sized portions.. And then my partner had a mixed grill main and I had the Garlic Chilli Chicken, with naans and rice. All very very tasty and quite large portion sizes! We had a fair bit to take home with us for the next day (which the guy helped us package up nicely)! Overall, the friendly, funny, welcoming service and tasty, good-sized food made it for us so much, we will definitely be back! Might even venture into Swindon just to go here to be honest! 100% recommend!

The food was superb as always, tried a different curry this time. I went for a dansak, a lentil dish which had my mouth watering. Also the Keema naan was fantastically evenly spread. My friends also enjoyed their food, can’t wait to be back

state 30-45 mins on just eat then changes to 1.15 to 1.30 hrs. Great food just had to microwave it,

I have to say we were disappointed. Had heard that it was rated as the best Restaurant in Swindon and having moved recently to this area, we were keen to try it. They need to clean their fish tank. We were sat not far from it and I could smell the dirty water, which was not a great start to our meal. Although there was plenty of meat in my meal, I wouldn't say it was a Bhuna. The garlic naan was far too crispy and the chips were overdone. The service was good and the complimentary drink a bonus, but for us it wasn't the best Indian meal we've had and considering the rating, that's why we were disappointed. Sorry, but we will not being visiting again.

Ruchi is our favourite place to eat in old town. Last Friday was no exception, great service and food was delicious. We had the chicken sali and tikka masala both of which are mild curries but full of flavour.

Business evening meal , enjoyed a great evening with a business associate. He travelled from West Wales and never eaten an Indian meal before. Guided him to a starter of chicken tikka with mint yogurt dips and a main of mild Lamb Bhuna with rice and plain naan with mixed vegetables. He was very impressed and enjoyed the change from boring pizza or chain pub grub . I had my usual chicken jalfrezi and Tarka dall which was outstanding as ever . Welcomed by the staff and ended with complimentary liqueurs . Outstanding!!

Quick service, but easily the worst curry I’ve had! Balti was watery and flavourless. Rice was cold and clumpy. Poppadoms were cold and stale. Naan was also cold.

Food not what I expect from Ruchi. We always order from here but I feel its slipping in quality. They missed an item from order and when it eventually arrived it was cold. As was most of the order when it came.

We went on a Tuesday for a cubs leader Christmas party and they offer a deal on a Tuesday and Sunday where you can get a starter, main, a rice or Naan and a side between 2 for £15.90 Absolutely class, food and service was fantastic and they offered us drinks on the house at the end. Would highly recommend to anyone thinking of coming here

Lovely meal, we did the Tuesday deal and got amazing service. Staff are friendly and attentive. Plenty of drink and food options. As a group of Cubs leaders we all found food we can eat and really enjoyed the meal.
