Wow Wow Wow!! This is by far the best cafe in Surrey!! With Amazingly good food and views you can’t ask for much more while having a brekkie!! After the best, omelette (mine) and full English ( my partner), we’ve ever had, with the best service we’ve had in a long long time, we got to enjoy a peaceful walk around the lake! We will be coming back at least once a week every week!

I love this café - it serves simple delicious meals using good quality ingredients, which is hard to find around here. The lakeside setting is also lovely and relaxing and the staff are friendly too. It's why I eat breakfast or lunch here at least three time per week.

Great place to sit and enjoy a freshly cooked breakfast , with a hot cup of tea/coffee etc... The staff are friendly and helpful, lovely setting and dog friendly. Never had a badly cooked meal here and always made to feel welcome. Prices are fair too!

Have been here once before and the food was lovely but the service was very slow. Decided to give it another chance and visited again on Sunday. Sadly the speed of service was even slower. We were there for about an hour before our food was served. The young female waitress is very friendly but clearly overwhelmed with the amount of work she has to do. Tables were left covered in dirty plates as she tried desperately to placate diners with free tea, taking new orders, bringing food out and accepting payments. This place really needs a second waitress. The food is lovely though but I doubt we'll return as it just takes too long to get served. Great shame as this place has real potential.

I read about this online and decided to give it a go, as I only live 10 minutes down the road. The cafe is in a portacabin next to a lake, but don't let that put you off. The cafe is cosy and warm. The service was a little slow but very friendly. The food was amazing - delicious homemade hash browns are a must! Good value too. I will definitely be returning to this lovely little cafe.

Visited this unusual and charming cafe for a lovely coffee on a crisp clear December morning. Friendly and welcoming. Looking forward to a longer visit next time, maybe for breakfast.

What a fantastic place this is...set on a lovely little lake which apparently was used in the Victorian times - the foundations on the right of the picture are that of the old boat house.

Grandsons loved the pond, and fact they could feed the fish and ducks. Off the beaten track but being added to all the time.

Had a truly wonderful tea with my mum and a friend, and as it is dog friendly my dog as well. We all enjoyed a beautiful presented tea, offered refills on tea and coffee. My dog was truly admired. Came away thinking that I must now try the breakfast.

The Ruby cafe is one of the most picturesque, friendly, tranquil cafes in and around Dorking. John makes you feel like the cafe is a second home! Highly recommend to everyone and anyone!

I had been 'warned off' this place - as being not good. How wrong can they be. I had the best breakfast I have had in years. In a warm friendly atmosphere. I'll be back!

There is a really nice atmosphere in this café which has expanded in recent times. The background music is at a pleasant level for chatting and the food very good-the vegetarian open sandwich was particularly tasty.

Great, simple and inexpensive but delicious pub grub. Staff were welcoming but genuine, dog friendly, and board games available to borrow!

Reviews seemed good so gave it a spin. Asked for half pounder with cheese and bacon & chips. Rather than be told they don't do half pounders, I was served up two super skinny burgers, exceptionally dry, nothing special, minus the bacon. Took almost 15 minutes to come out. Disappointing. The salt lid wasn't properly secured, went all over the chips rendering them inedible. No offer of replacement. Left hungry. Won't return, poor quality food and equally poor service.

I’m a local dog walker and use Ashtead cafe regularly, always find customer service is 10/10.. thoroughly enjoy a fry up and absolutely love their smoothies! It’s recently undergone a refurb and it looks amazing double the size and very Morden!

Hidden in Great Bookham is a charming, warm and quality focused Tea/ Coffee / brunch / lunch / cake … place, that has got the balance perfect. Service, quality , Ambiance and price meet in, what I can only call: perfection. We had brunch, lunch and afternoon tea here and have never been disappointed. The little garden behind the building is a tiny oasis if you want to sit outside.
