. Ambiente muy desagradable. No volveré

Went to Rubicon for breakfast this morning and sadly, left fairly disappointed. Orange juice isn’t fresh. I ordered poached eggs and they were pretty much raw. And they weren’t cooked the way someone who knows how to cook, would cook poached eggs. Just a shame , as very local to us but don’t think I will be returning. Nothing worse than going to a restaurant and coming away feeling you could have cooked it better yourself at home. Oh well.

Really good, affordable breakfast. Always consistent and delicious. Lunch menu also has good variety and plenty to drink. Most reasonably priced cafe I’ve found in the area, never disappoints. Not gourmet but that’s not what you expect. Delivers exactly what you want from the place.

A nice range of lunch options, good tea and cake. The staff are friendly and the cafe is spacious and comfortable, with a court yard garden for warmer days.

I frequently come here for brunch. The food is always lovely and well portioned. The atmosphere is warm and welcoming while maintaining privacy at each table. Most importantly, the staff are always welcoming and kind. One lady actually let me stay late while she was closing, as it was freezing outside.

The Beer that was on the menu was not available and there was no cider, can you believe that? The beer that was available was overpriced only one bottle of what we wanted was in the fridge, so the other one was lukewarm. The meals Eggs Benedict) in my case was fairly underwhelming on a bland bun. My wife's quiche was not very warm and she says she's had a better tasting quiche from Tesco. Not impressed.

My partner and I visited here to grab a bite to eat on a sunny weekend morning. He had warned me that the fry up wasn't great based on a previous visit - think school canteen quality sausages - but we decided to give it another go. I ordered eggs florentine and he tried the veggie fry up. Eggs florentine- the eggs were solid as a rock and the spinach tasted and looked as if it was cooked from frozen. Not sure whether the hollandaise was fresh either. Presentation was good, though. Would not order again. Veggie breakfast- the eggs are over cooked and grey. You are given a single "sausage" that was a real let down. Generally quite a dry breakfast. Hash browns were good and crispy. Would not order again. The service was really friendly and the cafe has a lovely ambience with lots of papers to read. Just think the food needs more quality assurance to bing it up to speed.

I call in here regularly since I work close by. This is a decent place to have a hot drink or even some lunch. In the summer there is a small courtyard with plenty of seating. I have never been disappointed after visiting and would recommend. Forgot to mention the large selection of cakes!

From the front, this eatery looks to be nothing much, but here looks really do deceive. The eatery is larger than it appears, but has at least four faces. Closest to the window is a comfortable sofa, where customers are very much on view and can be seen by passers-by, as well as to hail passing friends. There is a generous area for conventional dining tables and chairs. At the rear there is a garden, for when the English weather permits. And lastly there is a communications element, as there are newspapers and local information by leaflet and notice board. This was a good place for a well-presented light lunch, equally good for a coffee and croissant, they can a wide range of good quality cakes too. Staff are young, attrentive, courteous and prompt. No white tablecloths here, but the atmosphere is warm and friendly. Very popular with local residents.

Sometimes l forget that the original Rubicon is ten minutes walk away from my home almost opposite Rubicon Too, their second branch - but this has a different 'ambience' calming and serine while Too has a vibrancy - so it was nice to rediscover the original still with amazingly friendly manager and staff and serving a great traditional breakfast - they also produce some beautiful daily special lunches it's almost a community café and blessed for that I shall continue to use both amazing establishments for the joy too is the choice of staff are so attentive and welcoming !!

This morning, as on every Sunday, I woke with a craving for eggs. Unlike every other Sunday though there were no eggs in my fridge. I needed some eggs....pronto! Anyhow, as I was saying, the sun was shining bright yellow, like a yolk. Anyway, so I got to Rubicon and I ordered a breakfast of eggs. It took nine minutes and fourteen seconds for them to arrive at the table where I was sitting waiting for the breakfast to arrive. Why can't I sleep at night?

This lovely, friendly and relaxed cafe is in Redland in Bristol. Lovely staff, outdoor and indoor seating. I went along for brunch with a girlfriend. Lovely coffee; great service; relaxed seating; and fabulous food. We chose the vegetarian full breakfast which at £5.95 is excellent value. There is a good choice of cakes and shakes and lunches.

I have eaten here several times, with friends. The staff are very friendly and the food is always high quality. Homemade pies, soups and salads, etc. Very fresh and a great veggie choice too. Also, great coffee served. The cafe is bright and cheerful, with good quality furnishings, so it looks a nice place to eat too.

The Rubicon it's a really nice and quiet place where to have a tea or a coffee, but sadly, being small, became quite noisy when crowded. It's perfect in the out of peak time of the day.In the Sunny day is nice to have the chance to have a sit in the Sun in one of the few small table outside.Enjoy.Michy

We almost passed by this new, small restaurant, me thinking it was someone's front room. Apparently, a new and larger sign is coming for the outside. There are just a few tables and the Bulgarian owner, married to a Russian woman, is hoping for good things. He was so charming and brought us a roasted aubergine roll, filled with cream cheese, as an appetiser. We chose tapas and it was delicious: smoky aubergine baba ganoush, smoked salmon with cream cheese flavoured with wasabi, feta and spinach frittatas, crab cakes and chicken wings. Everything was perfectly cooked and well served, with a slightly eastern European flourish, on a glass plate. They also do Russian salad, burgers, Try and visit this lovely new place with a warm and personal service, before too long. They will have a patio garden opened by the summer. It's situated opposite the Cooperative store in the Horfield part of Gloucester Road...and it's easy to miss!

Tried to get a drink in this bar at 10.40 last night (Friday) and was told sorry we have called last orders and can't serve you, there were 7 of us. I was always under the impression that last orders was one last drink before time at 11, but obviously not in this pub, so we ended up in Somerset House.

This was a bit of a unusual Sunday roast/fish lunch mash up! I like the fish option but still got all the Sunday roast trimmings!!! An absolute smasher of a Sunday lunch. Btw, THE best roast potatoes in Bristol at the moment!!!

Lovely Spanish place, serving mostly small plates. They really understand the flavour of food, especially seafood (highly recommended). Great service as well.
