Great pub decked out for Christmas. Shame there’s no Hopster on, the Original takes some getting used to particularly in a Grand Central glass.

Decent pub. Cosy with different areas to sit in. Small bar. Darts in the back.

Went to the royal oak met the landlord what a nice guy , dog friendly, gave my dog a bowl of water, played pool and darts with my family, great atmosphere, and great value for pool and drinks, very friendly will come again, very welcoming ,

Such a friendly place, beer is kept well,the beer garden is amazing definitely worth a visit, staff,landlord and landlady are all down to earth and on the ball.

Pub does not do food but caters for funerals plus pubs sports teams..

Called in here one wet Monday night. There was a few customers in, live football was being shown on large screens. There was a choice of real ales to choose from. I chose a pint of Lowry (4.7%) from the Hydes brewery, which was in perfect condition! I would visit again if in the area. 👍

I must of passed this pub hundreds of times, the beer garden is massive, long tables and a TV for sports events. Decor inside is good and there's a games room with pool darts, etc

Friendly local pub with plenty to offer. Pool table, darts and big screens for sport. But most impressively is the beer garden. A lot of time and consideration for customers has gone in to designing a very relaxing, marquis style experience. FYI. This is a pub that is 25+ and does not serve food. Paul and Gill are wonderful hosts and always make an effort to make their customers feel welcome. A stones throw away from the main gates of Heaton Park makes this a must when in the area. Large variety of drinks (and Gin slushies) will have something for all palettes. Highly recommend. Very reasonably priced for draught lager and bottles of Prosecco.

Only been a handful of times but it's always a great place for a pint. Waiting patiently for tier 3 to end so we can come back.

I visited this pub 19th September 2020, it was my first time and I was very impressed with what they are doing to help prevent the spread of Covid 19, I'll be visiting again.

Proper boozer, in short supply these days. They show the footy, have some decent ales on tap and don't cost the earth. What more do you want?!

Visited a friend who works there. Generally busy, shows live sports, has bar games but not sure about live music? Warm and welcoming local pub with a good selection if beers, ales and shorts with special offers available.

Quite poor when they staff make up lies about "throwing you out" came in once for a drink and would never come back. Wasn't asked to leave but apparently the owner has a problem. Would love proof of throwing me out though.

Top place to booze in Prestwich. Always something going on. Plus great well kept cask and keg ales and beers.

Great drinkers pub. Three ales on handpump when i visited, all very tasty. Great area outside for smokers (comfy chairs and a tv) or sunworshippers. Two rooms at front and games room at rear. Very handy for Heaton Park and the Metrolink.

It's a fantastic little family pub and the staff are always friendly the landlord and landlady are fantastic people virtual you anytime you want

The Royal Oak doesnt pretend to be anything other than a down to earth slightly scruffy, back street style pub, with fast friendly service and great beer. As such it ticks all the boxes and so deserves a five. However that would be unfair to the other pubs that try harder and invest more in customer comfort and surroundings.

Lovely pub, couldn’t ask for a nicer local, landlord and landlady are the nicest people and the staff are all brilliant, clean & cosy lounge, spacious vault for pool and darts and a fantastic outside area with an undercover furnished section plus outdoor screen for sports viewing.........what more could you ask for ? Decent toilets maybe ?? Well this place certainly has them, the ladies are very clean and bright and the landlady goes above and beyond to provide a great selection of toiletries, I highly recommend paying this pub a visit if you haven’t already done so

I think it needs a refurbishment. The carpet and upholstery are totally worn out. That's why I gave only one star...it looks awful....
