It looks like Northern Whisper Ramsbottom has now closed. This place could have been a great success. The bar manager was a great fellow but just pulled the beers and then played on his phone, ignoring what could be a solitary customer on their own who would have liked to have been acknowledged. The previous bar staff Lucy and Chloe in particular were very customer friendly and chatted with customers unfortunately in my eyes the bar went downhill when they left. The bar manager sadly didn't display that skill this in my opinion, leading to many customers not coming back or only having one drink and then leaving. Every Wednesday the handpull beers were £2 a pint this was hardly advertised anywhere in Ramsbottom it should have been plastered all over the windows to this day many Ramsbottom people were unaware of this promotion the bar if advertised correctly would have been packed. A major failing too in this modern age is that there was NO disabled male toilet access. Apart from these very big failings, the beer was always on top form and excellent.

My bus wasn't for 35 minutes, so I popped in here and I was glad I did. I had a pint of IPA, which was amazing, and very zingy. The place was near empty, but it was warm and to be honest very homely. The barman was very nice and great taste in music, playing great tunes, like Stoned Roses and more. I enjoy my drink ,infact ordered 2 cans to take away. Unfortunately I forgot to take some photos. So please it's right on the corner at the top of Ramsbottom main street try it.

I enjoyed a gin and a cider here. My husband enjoyed the beers. There were too many young children climbing around to relax properly, hence the 4 stars. It's a really nice place, though, if you're ok with kids.

Great pub for beer lovers. Usually 4 on cask and a range of keg beers. Highly recommend a pint of openchopps only £3.50 a pint.

Microbreweries seem to be popping up in the UK now, which are a welcome change from the major distributor owned pubs all serving the same beers. Northern Whisper offered a nice selection and is in a a great little town where a few places can be sampled within a short walk. I'd give it a 5 if I'd sampled a few more selections, and the staff could have described a bit more about what they had on tap. Nobody is going to ask a barkeep to describe a Thwaites Original Ale, but in microbreweries or bars focusing on small local brewers, such insights are expected. I will certainly stop in more often the next time across the pond.

Great place to have a quiet pint and a chat, good beers and a good choice with plenty to choose from their own brewery. My wife loves shake a leg and yet not a beer fan,so there is something for everyone . No food served.

I'm a big fan of the NW bar in Rawtenstall, but our experience here didn't live up to expectations. At 10pm on a Saturday night I expected at least a bit of life, but the place was joyless. The staff were disinterested and seemed keen to close up early so that they could get home. Like them, I won't be looking forward to a return.

Sparse, uncomfortable seating, although to be fair it is more of a drinking establishment rather than cosy pub. Great price on Wednesday's, £2.00 a pint for cask ale and the barmaid was very friendly.

A well placed typical trendy bar with pared-back decor of wooden floors, long sharing tables or converted wooden topped barrels selling unusual local beers. Situated on the corner at the at the traffic lights on the main road through Ramsbottom, what was originally a lighting shop for many years.

A great asset for the town and a welcome addition to the Ramsbottom real ale scene. Situated at the traffic lights in the centre of town this local brewery tap bar (Northern Whisper) is a breath of fresh air. Featuring a good selection of their available ales (usually up to 5 on cask) they also have several of their keg craft ales on tap too. Definitely worth a visit, with friendly staff & clean loos too! Recommended.

This is the best place to eat in Ramsbottom by far. Caters brilliantly for veggies and vegans. Really friendly warm welcome from the staff. A cosy, comfy spot for a nicely priced brunch or a just a good cup of tea and a snack. Lancashire sauce is also on offer which gets my thumbs up every time!

The restaurant is lovely, atmosphere lighting and ambiance fab. We had ha mixture of garlic bread which were all great. For starters we had scallops, some had mussels and some had salmon- all cooked to perfection. The mussel dish was huge with a great chunk of focaccia on the side. For mains we had sea bass which was amazing- although expensive it was worth every penny. Friends had the fish skewers, pasta di Mare, pasta piquant all cooked and tasted fantastic. Finished with Irish coffees. Outstanding food and service will definitely dine here again
