Our very first visit and it didn’t disappoint, we were given a lovely welcome and the pub is spotless, food is great beautiful garden too.

Great local pub. Good bands. Nice people.

Pub stinks of urine. Bar staff always under the influence. Should be shut down.

I live in France and use this pub every time I am over for the Friday night music, meeting up with friends. I have been coming in here for 20 years plus and have never seen or faced any hostility, druggies or the like, as a previous appalling review by someone, who clearly has a ridiculous outlook as to how a pub should be suggested. Highly recommend the "Oak" the staff are on the ball service and welcoming wise, the music variety is a welcome break from the norm too, cheers!

My self my husband and my brother and sister in law stoped of you have a drink we was going to a different venue but we was 1 hour early we sat at the bar talking to two lovely lady’s bar staff they was both very kind then the landlady walk behind the bar and gave us such a dirty horrible look she called her bar staff out the back when they returned they didn’t lift there heads up to talk no more and we was told we wasn’t aloud to drink in this pub by the way we have never step a foot in before and we was told to to leave and not aloud to drink there all because we was Travelers we told her wear we live and we wanted to show her Identification so she new who we was and wear we lived never in my whole life have me and my family ever been treated and spoken to in such manner if she only ask us about ourself I’m sure she would have not chucked us out this landlady owns a public house it’s called that for a reason can she say what she did to us to any culture I feel Quite sorry for her as we live in a big wild world and she classes every Individual has one person very sad

Great pub good vibe but draft bitter could be better

One of the better pubs in the area. Good music events. Can be tricky parking but you can normally find a space nearby. Sunday lunch is good value. Large garden and seating area at the rear.

Excellent venue for local live bands and a good beer garden, too. Close to the 111 and R70 bus routes. Often gets busy to get there early. :)

Was in this pub on the weekend and it was a great surprise! Friendly staff, quick banter and good service. I loved that they remembered my drink order every time I came up. Good people, great fun!!

To see a band. The 60s All Stars were really great with the legendary Mick Avory on drums. Great service and drinks.

Went there, to watch a group singing, and the staff was very helpful. We had just missed the cutoff for any food and there was nowhere in walking distance to get food. The staff went over and above to help and advised us we could order pizza to be delivered to the pub

Just eaten a superb roast beef dinner here. Food is excellent hot and everything you could wish for in a roast dinner. I Would highly recommend anyone wanting a great roast dinner on a Sunday. Pub has a great atmosphere lovely staff and customers.

My partner and I had a fantastic roast dinner today. Lovely friendly pub, the staff and Wendy the owner make you feel most welcome. Dinner was so tasty with large portions. . We managed to force a pudding down. One of Wendy's home made cake . Definitely will be going back.

I'm sorry you had a disappointing experience at the Royal Oak today. If you had expressed your issues at the time we would have done our best to rectify the situation. If you had mentioned this when chatting to the owner she would have been happy to help.

Small portions!!!! You ask for lamb when you order on the phone and then they think it’s acceptable to give you a tiny bit of lamb mostly fat and a tiny amount of gammon which I didn’t want . I won’t be going again to the pub. You only get what you pay for and I’m afraid you won’t even get that in this pub. Avoid!!!!

Glad we called ahead and booked a table, a packed out pub for Sunday lunch. Reasons why: a welcoming atmosphere from all friendly staff and the owners, great food with generous portions and we managed to squeeze in pudding too!! We will definitely be returning. Lovely, dog friendly pub. Welcoming staff and an absolutely delicious Sunday roast. I am vegetarian and everything was superb.

We had a cracking roast here today. This was our second time and it was better than the first. Great range of veg - broccoli, potatoes, cauliflower cheese, carrots, cabbage, peas...possibly more and lovely meat+ Yorkie and stuffing. For pudding I had the home made Oreo cheesecake which was fantastic! Really really friendly service too, looking forward to going back, empty plates all round.

Only called in for drinks (London pride) on cask. But a nice friendly pub

We arrived at 11 o’clock for one drink, online it says the pub closes at 12:30. We got out our Uber and we were shouted abuse (me and my 3 girlfriends). It’s turns out it was the owner of the pub, who was verbally abusing us and telling us we were not allowed in. We are 4 normal girls and this is our local pub. The owner physically barricaded my friend. Do not come here.

Pleasant garden, roast dinners 1-5 on Sundays, no food any other days or times, the only cider is Strongbow (aka Wrongbow).

Not a gastro pub more a traditional pub with that pub smell, nice friendly service, half decent pint of Guinness

The most fabulous pub! Warm, friendly and an amazing atmosphere. You must come and meet the pub dog - Harry. 13 last week, and of course suitable celebrations were held.

We fell upon The Royal Oak at lunchtime today. What a friendly place. The homemade pudding was delicious. Great photos on the walls. We will be back.

Great place to be with flowing drinks and great ambience. This restaurant is close to river thames, garden with tennis facilities, very good bus and train connectivity.

A real friendly 'old style' pub. A comfortable and spacious pub in the old style, that also supports local bands and features them most weeks. TV monitors ensure that more people can see the bands. Comfortable seating and a good selection of drinks and food. A little out of the way in Hampton but worth finding.

First pub dining out experience since lockdown - immaculately clean friendly welcoming staff. Lovely outside space - felt completely at ease I'd even feel safe sitting inside. To top it all had a luscious roast both the beef and chicken were fantastic. Fully recommend xx

The Royal Oak is a BRILLIANT pub,the atmosphere is VERY FRIENDLY and WARM,the locals are GREAT,the food is VERY TASTY and FILLING and the landlady Wendy is BRILLIANT, she treats you like one of the family.

Horrible dingy little place, but worst of all was the price for drinks, £7 for a pint and illegally charged me for water.

Visited for a “famous” Sunday Roast, but can honestly say it was the worst roast I’ve ever eaten bar none. Dried out tasteless meat, burnt potatoes, soggy veg. I asked for my money back, but instead offered money off next Sunday’s roast!

I thought I’d give this place a chance despite hearing nothing but negative things about it. I wish I had listened to those rumours. Very old fashioned and runs down. Owners were rude and drunk, avoid!

Slightly biast as I know the owners but they do knock up some good grub and the gardens nice in the summer. Show sporting events and have local bands playing sometimes during the week as well as the weekend. Friendly vibe

Good lively pub with Monday night jam session

We popped in after seeing a board outside offering Sunday Roast dinner. Very friendly staff seated us straight away. It was around 2 pm so later than usual. The food was lovely and came quickly. A proper dinner with lovely thick gravy. I would definitely go back although it is quite small inside so would probably try and book in future. Best meal I have had out in a long while.

Horrible, Dingy little pub, the owner is absolutely barking mad or on drugs and the food is disgusting. Avoid at all costs. The worst pub in Hampton hands down.

Where do I start this pub used to be good but that was before Wendy who I think needs mental health support for her strange attitude to customers. Pub full of thugs some one will end up hurt here if you are after family pub do not come here

My first visit to this pub on a friday night as they had a band there. You have to get there early if you want to SEE the band as the rooms are very small. However, the acustics are bad and it is very loud - so take ear plugs, so no problem HEARING the band regardless of where you sit. TVs everywhere. Easy parking.

Lovely boozer, very reasonable beer prices. It is also a bangin' live music venue. Unusually, it seems to have mega sound insulation so you can't hear the bands from the garden - the neighbours must be well happy!😂
